“Republic KaZantip” is a cult music festival that annually attracts thousands of fans of high-quality rave. The highlight of the festival is the concept of a “land of freedom”: Kazantip has its own queen, president, ministers, constitution and “visas” - entrance tickets.

For many years, the festival was located in the village of Popovka near Yevpatoria, but after the notorious Crimean-Russian affairs, it migrated first to Georgia and then to Vietnam. Now Kazantip fans monitor the new location of the famous festival every year.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL KAZANTIP-2018 BE HELD?

HOW TO GET TO KAZANTIP FOR FREE?

You can get to Kazantip for free. As reported on the festival website, the “2 for 1” rule applies at Kazantip: every girl with any type of entrance ticket has the right to take a friend with her for free. The friend will receive her own EntryPass once both girls have passed face control. Registered members who have detailed profiles on the site have the opportunity to receive a free MultiPass or PriorityPass, similar to the type of ticket their friend has. Traditionally, the symbol of the festival was a yellow suitcase, which gives the owner the right to free entry into the festival area. At the same time, you won’t be able to simply buy a yellow suitcase on Aliexpress and go to Kazantip for free for the rest of your life: the suitcase must be an “old model” (the kind your grandfather keeps nails and screwdrivers in), originally designed, registered in advance, and after crossing “ boundaries” - to constantly be close to its owner. Now the official website says nothing about free entry with a yellow suitcase, but Internet users hope that the “government of the republic” will not change the rules.

HOW MUCH MONEY SHOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU?

According to the official website, in order to “sincerely enjoy” your holiday at the festival, you need to count on about 400 € per week, although some spend more. The organizers say that 12 - 20 € per day will be enough for breakfast, two simple hot dishes and mineral water. A beer or glass of vodka will cost about 2€, a cocktail - about 4€. The most expensive drink - B-52 - costs approximately 6 €. Prices vary between bars and dance floors.

HOW TO GET THERE?

The closest airport to Kemer is Antalya (AYT): from there you can get to Kemer in half an hour. The cheapest flight option from Minsk, which is currently offered by Aviasales, is for $215 with transfers in Kharkov and Istanbul (carried by Turkish Airlines, Belavia and Pegasus). The option is a little more expensive, but faster - through Kyiv and Ankara - costs $240. Moscow-Antalya tickets from Pobeda cost about $100; getting to Moscow costs from 20 rubles. An option for those who plan not only to hang out, but also to travel: from Warsaw via Bratislava to Dalaman with Ryanair (tickets Warsaw-Bratislava - from 9 euros, Bratislava-Dalaman - about 60 euros). A taxi between Dalaman and Kemer will cost from $100. We do not guarantee that this option will be significantly cheaper in total than previously proposed flights, but you will be able to walk around summer Bratislava and swim on wild Turkish beaches: one of the roads connecting Fethiye and Kemer runs along the coast.

WHAT WILL BE IN THE PROGRAM?

It is difficult to know in advance what will happen at Kazantip: the dates of numerous ceremonies and celebrations are determined shortly before they begin. They are announced in a short message from the “Queen of kaZantip” and subsequently made public throughout the complex (sometimes such an announcement is made just a few hours before the start of the event). But organizers say there is no need to worry: “It may seem difficult to get used to at first. But it was this factor of constant surprise that most experienced paradiZers (festival participants) of past seasons enjoyed.”

But you can find out about some of the “ceremonies” that you will be lucky enough to see now. For example, you will definitely be able to attend a traditional “quickie wedding”: once a week, the wedding ceremony is held individually or simultaneously for all couples. Anyone can get married - any number of times and regardless of the gender of the chosen one (naturally, this marriage will be recognized only on the territory of the “Republic of Kazantip”, but who cares?). Registration for Fast Married is not required, you just need to show up for the ceremony, which traditionally attracts crowds of spectators. “Marriage is valid as long as love lasts, and not a day longer,” say the organizers.

From 1991 to 2013, the largest electronic music festival in the post-Soviet space, the Republic of KaZantip, was held annually in Crimea. In a sense, it was the Russian analogue of the famous one: various holiday concepts that change every year, dance and sports grounds, naked girls, lounge bars, performances by DJs and musical groups from all over the world.

Why KaZantip was interesting

From 2001 to 2014, the holiday of music and freedom was “registered” on the Black Sea coast in the village of Popovka near Evpatoria. Everything was good, the atmosphere of general happiness and freedom and the various traditions were especially impressive.

We can single out several rituals that set the holiday apart from any other music festivals.

"Day of Happiness"– during the holiday, one day was determined, which became a local “national” holiday. KaZantip ban, what is the reason

In 2012, the last “KaZantip” took place on the territory on the Black Sea coast. The festival was banned due to the prohibited substances used by the festival participants. In 2014, KaZantip was held in the resort town of Anaklia on the Black Sea coast of Georgia.

Last spring, the Crimean authorities decided to never again hold the KaZantip festival and its derivatives on the peninsula. The birth of the festival

It all started back in the 90s. Windsurfing enthusiast Nikita Marshunok wanted to organize competitions in this sport on the Cape, after which parties were held on the beach. When the number of participants exceeded several thousand, Marshunok decided to hold a full-fledged electronic music festival in Kazantip. Moreover, the area near the abandoned nuclear reactor was very suitable for such a club atmosphere.

Everything was successful, and 1995 is considered the birth of both the festival, which took its name from the cape, and the Kazantip movement. What's unusual about this event?

Music style

Alternative music of different styles is welcome here: techno, drum and bass, electro house. To create a club atmosphere, famous DJs and performers from all over Europe are invited. The festival organizers are conducting a preliminary selection among the compositions that will be performed directly at Kazantip, because every year there are more and more people who want to conquer the world with their electronic hits.

Location

From 1995 to 1999, this musical event took place on the peninsula of the same name. In 2000, “Kazantip” changed its location and moved south - to the outskirts of Sudak, and for the period from 2001 to 2013 it was “registered” in the village of Popovka near Evpatoria. The festival was repeatedly banned by local authorities, so one day it changed its name and became "Republic Z". But due to the political situation on the peninsula in 2014, fans of alternative music had to fly to Georgia. Republic Z Rules

“Kazantip” gained so much popularity that such a movement began to be called a republic. It has its own territory, its own president, Nikita the First, and its own rules of stay. So, what is Kazantip and how to get there? In order to cross the border of “Republic Z”, you need to purchase a visa. Over the years, the cost of a visa varied from $55 to $250. It can be either a single or multiple visa. The fact is that the festival lasts from a month to three weeks, and many come here for almost the entire period. They love Kazantip so much that such an event becomes the main event of the summer for them, and they don’t mind paying a lot of money for it.

But there is a way to stay in this “state” for free. You need to bring with you a yellow Soviet-era suitcase, decorated in accordance with all the requirements of Kazantip, register it upon entry, and then carry it with you everywhere and constantly, otherwise you risk deportation. A photograph of the owner must be pasted onto the inside of the suitcase. You cannot pass it on to others to cross the border illegally, otherwise it will be burned.

During the day, Kazantip is more or less calm: people are relaxing on the beach, light music is playing, and at sunset everyone is celebrating the sun together (this event is called “Sunset”).

But with the onset of darkness (from 23:00 to 9:00) all the dance floors are filled with people who rock to the rhythm of electronic hits all night long.

If we talk about the dark side of “Kazantip”, then there is an atmosphere of complete emancipation and the lifting of all prohibitions.
