Day 1 (Friday)

Material from Wikipedia >>> Ekaterinburg Time zone UTC + 5 (to Moscow + 2 hours)

It is located on the eastern macroslope of the Middle Urals, along the banks of the Iset River. This part of the Urals serves as a natural gateway from the central regions of Russia to Siberia, which, over the course of history, has favorably influenced the development of the city: Yekaterinburg has formed as a strategically important center of Russia, which still provides a connection between the European and Asian parts of the country.

Some sources use a different option for determining the border of Europe - along the watershed of the Ural Range, the Ural River, and the watershed of the Caucasus Range.

The very fact of the separation of Europe is the result not so much of logic and geographical conditionality as of history.

Visiting the stele Europe - Asia at 17 km. Moscow tract. Set off on a journey to a place where two parts of the world, two cultures - Europe and Asia - meet (a commemorative stele was erected on the border of two continents in 2004, it contains stones from the extreme points of Europe and Asia - Cape Roca and Cape Dezhnev).

According to the legends of Yekaterinburgers, those who crossed the border have their most secret desires come true, so there are always a lot of newlyweds and just happy people here..

The first grotto you will visit is called the Diamond Grotto for a reason: its vaults are covered with a thick fringe of frost, sparkling like diamonds. The vaults of the grotto of Dante are stepped. This is a very beautiful place in the bend of the Tura River. There is a large stone in the quiet bend of the Tura, slightly protruding into the river. Here, in solitude and silence, Saint Simeon loved to pray for a long time and to fish. The pure, sincere prayers of the saint of God sanctified this place: time seems to stop here, the soul is pacified. After the glorification of the righteous man, a chapel was erected on the shore. Today, a worship cross has been erected in its place, and a wooden temple has been erected next to it in the name of All the Saints who shone in the land of Siberia.

Day 7 (Friday)

Day 8 (Saturday)

I must say right away that the ring did not work ... There is no normal road between Merkushino and Makhnevo. And there is no bad one, there is only iron. Our government cannot make a road just like that, for the sake of tourism. There would be something useful, the road would be made. Although I don’t understand, is it so difficult (expensive) to fill forty kilometers between Karpunino and Khabarchikha? There is Simeon's Path, which you can walk along. In the following parts, I will talk about it in detail. What is surprising, some navigation programs show that there is a road, it goes through Sankino, Chushino, Karabaevo. If they went there, then during the time of the king. And not even Nicholas II. Even in the first half of the previous century, when people lived in the above villages and tracts, the roads were impassable for the transport of that time. According to eyewitnesses, waste was dumped into the swamps near Nizhny Karabaev with a scoop. One way or not, Karabaevo died of cancer, the Chushino tract was abandoned fifty years ago, there are no roads, no life, there is no need to go there. So let's go. Route number one, Yekaterinburg-Verkhoturye-Merkushino-Kordyukovo. Three hundred and seventy kilometers. Nevyansk. Do not bypass or bypass. A provincial Ural city. Famous for its leaning tower, founded by the famous Demidov. Near a beautiful church. Above is the local, old cemetery, which is not easy to find. Hotel, several catering establishments (quite tasty food). Normal shops, a branch of the Kirov store, a little further along Lenin Street, the Yuzhny supermarket, you can call. Byngi, where the pottery workshop is located, Tavolgi, Serbishino, remain a little aloof. Further along the Nikolo-Pavlovskoye highway. The Yekaterinburg-Serov highway in front of the village goes to the left, bypassing Nizhny Tagil from the west. If you have time, you can visit the Lower. A good museum of local lore, tank. The city itself is quite unusual, for example, I constantly stray there, and I have a lot of experience. After Tagil, the proximity of settlements appears little. The mountain and the city of Kachkanar, the village of Kushva remain aside. The villages have unusual names, there are Laya, Vyya, Is, Skazka recreation center. You can go to the old Serovskaya road, which is quite suitable for driving in places, to appreciate how the ancestors traveled. Traffic is quite dense, traffic police posts are possible. The further north, the fewer cars, fewer posts. At 280 (like) kilometer turn right. Another fifteen kilometers, and here it is - Verkhoturye! An ancient Russian city, the capital of the old trade. Monasteries, churches. There is a hotel, a cafe, even a restaurant, sort of. With service, however, tight. I've had two blackouts, both times with an empty tank. Stores are so-so. The city itself remained a remote province. Next came the old Russian villages. Zaimka remains a little aside, we pass Glazunovka, Lebedeva, Krasnogorskoye. Kostylevo with the monastery. Here is Merkushino. A beautiful church, a place of pilgrimage. Holy place. A little further away is the chapel where Simeon Verkhotursky prayed on the river. If you have arrived, drive a little further, you will cross a piece of iron, stop "white clay" there is a waterfall on the right. Well, then Voronskaya, Deryabino, where the asphalt ends, a little to the side of Zapolskaya, where several hundred families once lived, now burned out almost completely, Otradnovo, where several summer residents live. Everything, there is no further road. We're going back.
The second route goes to Alapaevsk, Sinyachikha, Makhnevo. What I really liked on this route was the Museum of Wooden Architecture in Sinyachikha.
In the following parts I will write in detail what and how, I will find a photo.

Ekaterinburg

The Big Ural Ring is one of the relatively new Russian tourist routes. Its creation was intended to increase the interest of domestic tourism in the Ural region, the study of its history and centuries-old cultural traditions. Tours are compiled individually, depending on the specific wishes of the tourist or tourist group.

Route Description

Since the Great Ural Ring is a new tourist route in Russia, it does not have a clear structure and a specific duration. The only thing. What unites travelers is a conditionally “ring” structure and mandatory stopping points. As a rule, the route starts and ends at Yekaterinburg, simultaneously capturing 10 settlements of the Sverdlovsk region and the Perm region.

The obligatory program of the ring includes Nizhny Tagil, Solikamsk, Chusovoy, Permian and a number of other stops. The duration of stay in each city or village is not specified, guests can be passing through here, or they can stay for a few days. To appreciate the cultural program of a particular season, or to get to know local attractions better.

Accommodation

Best of all with hotels and daily accommodation at the end points of the tourist route - Perm or Yekaterinburg. Both cities are regional capitals, so there is a large selection of hotels from two to five stars. There are also so-called "camping" hotels without categories of comfort and with a minimum number of amenities.

In other cities, if desired, it will be possible to use daily apartments. Such accommodation will be relevant for small groups of tourists or singles. The advantage will be a relatively low price and the absence of hotel intrusiveness in service.

Attractions

Ekaterinburg

You can start sightseeing right from the capital of the Sverdlovsk region. This city perfectly combines the modern look of the Russian metropolis and the ancient architecture of the city, which has become a border point between Europe and Siberia. One of the clearest examples of the unique appearance of Yekaterinburg is House of Sevastyanov- This architectural monument of federal significance attracts thousands of tourists every year.

House of Sevastyanov

The other side of the popular places in Yekaterinburg are museums. Regional local history museum, museum Radio, museum " Literary life of the Urals», airborne museum- this is only a small part of the sites that guests of the city can visit. A separate line is always prescribed for the city sculpture of Yekaterinburg - a monument Vysotsky and Vladi, Gene Bukin and other growth monuments have become popularly loved.

Monument to Vysotsky and Vladi

Nevyansk

It would seem that the small city of Nevyansk should be a deep Ural province, but a large number of tourists come here every year for the sake of one attraction - the famous Leaning Tower of Nevyansk. The architectural monument of the 18th century is included in the list of the Cultural Heritage of Russia and is a kind of response to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

In addition, Nevyansk will be interesting for its Orthodox architecture. The city has a cathedral Ascension Cathedral- one of the few churches in the Urals that survived the Soviet years. Near Nevyanskaya is located Old Believer village Byngi.

Nevyanovskaya Leaning Tower

Nizhny Tagil

The famous center of metallurgy is also of great cultural importance for the entire Urals. Today in Nizhny Tagil almost 25 museums, the most famous of which is Museum-factory of the history of mining equipment. This is the only open-air museum in Russia, created on the basis of a metallurgical plant. Visitors are allowed to walk through the blast-furnace shops built in the 19th century.

The historical heritage of Nizhny Tagil can be appreciated by visiting fox mountain and famous watchtower. Now the tower is almost completely restored after decades of desolation.

fox mountain

Kachkanar

Kachkanar is so far an optional point of the Great Ural Ring, but the city is worth visiting at least for the sake of climbing mountain of the same name after whom the settlement was named. Many tourists are sure to take pictures against the backdrop. rocks Camel like an exotic animal.

Rock Camel

Border of Europe and Asia

There are many marked borders between the two continents along the entire length of the Ural ridge, but the most visited is the obelisk a couple of kilometers from village of Promysla, near Kachkanar. From the snow-white sculpture, a dividing line between Asia and Europe was drawn right on the asphalt.

Chusovoy

The city of Chusovoi in the Perm Territory is known for several museums, the most important of which is Ermak's Campaign Museum. In fact, the museum is part of a large ethnographic park located in the suburbs. According to legend, it was from here that Yermak Timofeevich's journey to Siberia began. Here you can also go to Museum of a Peasant Hut where all the exhibits will be allowed to touch with your hands.

Ermak's Campaign Museum

Solikamsk

Old City Solikamsk famous for its unique architecture, miraculously preserved houses from different eras, for example, Voyevoda's house. In addition, the city has a large number of Orthodox churches, which often become objects of pilgrimage tours.

Cherdyn

Cherdyn considered the oldest settlement in the Kama region. According to chronicles, the city was founded on this site in 1451. You can learn more about the history of the city and related events and personalities by visiting Cherdyn Museum of Local Lore. In addition, the city has preserved architectural monuments of the 18th century, including some church buildings.

Cherdyn Museum of Local Lore

Nyrob

Known in Tsarist Russia as a place of exile and execution of political prisoners, a small village Nyrob you can bypass, or you can visit as part of the Great Ural Ring. Built here in 1704 Nicholas Church is now included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition, the village has several picturesque natural areas suitable for a relaxing holiday.

Nicholas Church

Usolye

Old City Usolye- the pearl of the Permian land, which has survived many troubles. The main misfortune of the city was the construction of the Kama hydroelectric power station, due to which part of the districts with historical buildings went under water. The surviving architectural monuments are now included in the Russian heritage and are being actively restored. These monuments include Transfiguration Cathedral And chamber of merchants Stroganovs.

Chambers of Merchants Stroganovs

Permian

Permian- the final point of the route of the Great Ural Ring. The city-millionaire with the richest architectural and cultural heritage undeservedly bypasses the attention of Russian tourists, but the Ural route gradually restores justice and increases interest in this place. All excursions around Perm can be divided into topics - architecture, museums and cultural life.

Undoubtedly, the main museum of the city is Perm art gallery. Its halls are called the treasury of Russian painting. Dozens of original works by great masters are exhibited here, including Repin, Serov, Levitan and Savrasov.

Perm art gallery

The list of architectural monuments of federal significance in Perm includes 14 objects. Among them is the building Women's gymnasium, Gribushin's house, described in Pasternak's novel "Doctor Zhivago", Noble Assembly and a number of other historically important buildings. There are dozens of sculptures and monuments in Perm, which have long become the hallmark of the city.

Sunday I devoted to studying not only the museums of Nizhny Tagil and Verkhnyaya Pyshma of the Sverdlovsk region, but also the tourist service offered as part of a public-private partnership (although it does not fall under the PPP legislation, it is not drawn up in accordance with the Federal Law of July 13, 2015 N 224-FZ "On Public-Private Partnership, Municipal-Private Partnership in the Russian Federation and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation") of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and the GC "Vista".

I will not go into the intricacies of co-financing the project, what and to whom who promised, I will simply share my impressions and questions on organizing a tour along the route "Technology of the Urals", "History of Engineering of the Urals". It is difficult to specify the name exactly, since it is different in different sources from the tour operator. As a result, let's call it a tourist route "Something about technology."

1. Acquisition of a tour and departure.
It was not difficult to find the site of the "Gem Ring of the Urals" in the browser's search engine, by the way, it is registered to a domain name similar to the name of the Vista Group of Companies (http://vistarussia.com/), however, there is no such legal entity on the site itself, except for logo, tour operator - Booking Center LLC, registered in Moscow.

On the site, you can choose a route for a specific date, see which objects and at what time on that day you should visit, as well as find out the cost of the tour. The tour that I set my sights on cost 1,899 rubles. Since the site is, in fact, an online store, payment can be made by credit card...

Here I had one more question (except for changing the name of the operator on the site), payment is made through the Yandex-money service. Of course, recently this service has begun to serve payments to legal entities, but this requires additional registration in the system. But was it passed, or does the Yandex wallet to which I sent the money belong to an individual? This seems to be something to look into...

After payment, no documents (Tour ticket, Agreement) were sent to me, but the phone rang the day before ... The girl, introducing herself as "Gem Ring", reminded me of my tour. The gem ring told me that the tour started not at 8-00, but at 7-30. Hearing my surprise, the Ring hung up, not bothering to apologize...

My indignation at the change in the departure time was justified, the site indicated a different time when paying, and I, like other possible participants, could presumably use public transport to arrive at the collection point. From Berezovsky, where I live, I would not have been able to get to the Botanicheskaya metro stop by the time indicated by the Ring. It's good that I'm not bound by public transport and use my own.

Upon arrival at the appointed time - 7-00 collection, at 7-30 departure, was surprised not to find a branded bus. I decided to call the phone number listed on the site - +7 343 385-84-85. The phone conspiratorially did not answer me. I had to, relying on intuition and the search for other owners of happy tours, to figure it out. It turned out that a minibus was filed for the tour. Admittedly, the quality of the bus matched the journey, speakerphone, TV that didn't work, heat from the stove, comfortable seats...

When I asked for a Voucher, when I asked for it at the end of the tour, the accompanying people refused me, arguing that the vouchers are received at the office, and they do not know where I purchased the tour. By the way, I was never asked for any documents, no receipt of payment, or even my last name for the entire trip. I doubt that I am such a famous person that I need no introduction ...

2. Travel (transfers).
I do not consider myself an expert in the tourism service sector, as well as the history of the region, so I will rely on the ideas that I have.
Guide. He told a lot, in the direction of Nizhny Tagil about the Demidov family, after Nizhny Tagil - about the Great Patriotic War. From his stories, thanks to the people of Tagil who responded to my previous posts, I can say that the fate of Miron Cherepanov, who could not sleep because he was an Old Believer, is not correctly interpreted, and it also sounded rather strange that the Museum-factory of the Nizhny Tagil Museum-Reserve "Gornozavodskaya Ural" does not have the necessary permission to conduct tours of the plant, but regularly violates this ban. But what about visiting this museum on the tour "From Demidov to T-90", which is offered by the "Gem Ring"? This is behind the scenes...
A few words about the bus. Bus leased from IP Takhonov A.A. rental rates are available on the website (http://arenda-mikroavtobusa66.ru/), I don’t understand where the branded bus, which was advertised as the property of the Vista Group of Companies. Even if out of 15 passengers 3 are tour operator employees and a guide, wouldn’t it cost less than renting from a third-party carrier?
During the trip, 2 lunch boxes were offered, as well as lunch in a Tagil cafe. It is not at all clear why we were collected 30 minutes earlier, if in fact we set off at 7-50, excursions in museums were not amenable to time regulation?

3. Museums.
I have already said in posts that this route included visiting 3 museums:
- Museum of the history of technology "House of Cherepanovs" -,
- Museum of armored vehicles UVZ -,
- Museum of military equipment "Battle Glory of the Urals" UMMC -.
The set of museums to visit, in general, fits into the declared name "Technique of the Urals", but the accents are not set, for this reason a holistic view of the technical achievements of the region did not work out. The gramophones of the House of Cherepanovs and retro cars of the UMMC Museum are not connected with the Urals, except for the place of their museum storage.
Payment for visiting museums was included in the price of the tour, therefore, apparently, the accompanying person paid for tickets everywhere in cash (with Yandex-Money, it is not difficult to cash out the amounts received). In the UVZ Museum, the check for tickets received by the representative of the Booking Center LLC included additional payments made by a number of tourists for taking pictures in the Museum. It seems to be nothing, but, in fact, a violation of accounting discipline and reporting...

4. General questions.
I recorded that on the route along the "Gem Ring of the Urals" on November 8, 2015, 12 tourists left. The total collection of money, according to my calculations, should have been 22,788 rubles.
I count the costs:
- tickets to museums - from 500 to 600 rubles per group (3 museums * 550 rubles = 1650 rubles)
- lunch boxes - about 150 rubles / piece (12 people * 2 pcs * 150 rubles = 3600 rubles)

Payment for the guide - 150 rubles / hour (12 hours * 150 rubles = 1800 rubles)
- minibus (waiting - 1300 rubles / hour, intercity 25 rubles / km) - according to my calculations, about 10,000 rubles,

Meals in a cafe - 15 people at 250 rubles = 3750 rubles.

Total: 20800 rubles

Income - about 2000 rubles. Some kind of business in Russian turns out ... Well, what is not a minus?

It doesn’t matter how accurately I made the calculations, but even the minimum profit from the tour will not affect the income of the Sverdlovsk region in any way, since Booking Center LLC, probably pay taxes but in Moscow.

A few words about the tourism income of the region. Museums received 1,650 rubles, cafes - 3,750 rubles. In fact, tourists left 5,400 rubles in the region, 450 rubles per person - approximately 24% of the cost of the tour. This is the development of tourism and tourism infrastructure! I have not yet begun to analyze the costs of the budget of the Sverdlovsk region for the promotion and advertising products of the "Gemstone Ring". Good business for a private partner of our state!
