Good afternoon friends! So the next vacation is over, I put my thoughts in order, I tune in to the working mood.
I will gradually write reviews, but first I will write a negative one. I generally do not like to write negative reviews, but when a hotel spoils your entire vacation, then excuse me, let people know better what to expect from this hotel.
There is a Russian proverb “they don’t look for good from good”, but we love to step on a rake. For two years in a row I rested at the Chistye Prudy Hotel, which belongs to the city of the Velvet Seasons Hotel, everything was excellent there, the rest went off with a bang. But no, I wanted variety, I decided to book the "Ekaterininsky Quarter". I think it is also the hotel of the Velvet seasons, it has a good territorial location, it is located almost on the border with Abkhazia. Why not. It was decided, in my opinion, in April, through the national tour operator "Alean" I booked a single room, a higher floor, without a balcony. Alean phoned me and confirmed everything, it remains to wait for September and have a calm vacation. There were many plans, but they were not destined to come true.
On September 18, at about 10 o’clock, we arrived in the Ekaterininsky quarter, went to the reception, a girl named Yulia took her passport, immediately offered to pay a resort fee of 60 rubles, check in our luggage and take a walk. The meeting went quite well. We walked around the territory, it is all well-groomed, clean, the grass is trimmed, there are beautiful figures, while everyone really liked it. The only caveat is that at the reception, unlike Chistye Prudy, there was no coffee, no sofas, there was none of this, people huddled in small recreations. By 2 pm I went to Yulia, reminded me about the floor above and without a balcony, to which she said, building 14, 1st floor, it sounded like a mockery. I asked her to find a higher floor, and oh joy, my favorite fifth floor. On the wings of happiness, we rushed to building 15, room 5266. We entered the room and a sharp smell of dust and paint after repairs hit our noses, there was a thick layer of dust on the furniture. I am allergic, so I am very sensitive to all smells. But nothing, they opened the loggia as far as possible, hoped that it would be ventilated and went to see off their friends, had dinner, took a walk and returned to the room. The room is very small, you can't turn around where the bed is. Whether the bed is a double bed or a single bed, it is not entirely clear. The furniture is completed with parts from different sets, differs in color, a light bulb hangs in the hallway, it seems to me that toilets at abandoned stations are illuminated like this. The bathroom is small too, the sink is just from some kind of children's headset, but there is a mirror, it hangs so low that you can look at yourself or dry your hair, you need to sit on the toilet, there is no other way to look into the mirror. I would look at all these shortcomings with humor and would not spoil my vacation. But in the evening I began to suffocate, I needed inhalation, I bought salbutamol at the pharmacy and went back to Yulia. She told her everything, asked me to pick up a room, she was categorical, okay, let's see the first floor. I went to look, the room was odorless, also small, there was no this terrible, completely non-functional balcony, and then I looked into the bathroom. Shock. There is simply no pallet or bath! And a bunch of all kinds of metal devices. Turns out it's a wheelchair accessible room. I returned to Yulia, she said that I was supposed to only have this or this number, there are simply no other options. I asked her, she saw that I was suffocating, but she was completely indifferent and shrugged. The hotel was not very full, could they really not find at least one room without dust and odor after renovation for a person who is really ill? She offered to pay 1500 rubles per day and she would transfer me to a double without a balcony and without smell. Yes, even the same girl at check-in offered to check-in three hours earlier for 1000 rubles, but I refused.
I remember how those six days passed like a bad dream. The garbage was taken out every day, on the fourth day I went to the reception to ask to be cleaned at least once, they came and changed the bed, towels and cleaned, the room became at least a little cleaner. Soap accessories were not reported at all, and already on the fifth day I met the maid and asked for soap, to which she grumbled with displeasure that you have soap, we went into the room and I asked to show, she pointed to two tiny remnants. She threw two more bars of soap on top. Also on the second day, I asked to bring a clothes dryer to put on the balcony, they promised, but did not fulfill it. The balcony is completely awkward, glazed, but also the fence is so high that you can stick out one head, the fence was up to my neck. The bed consists of two pushed together, has one mattress and one headboard from a single bed, but to be fair, the mattress was very comfortable. To get on the bed you need to either just jump there like a fish, which is undignified to do at my age, or after hitting a couple of times, you will adapt to go sideways from the other side. In general, staying in this hotel is a quest for survival. They smoke throughout the hotel, and not in specially designated areas, the iron is just a song, it’s so small, it barely warms, it’s impossible to stroke it normally, and how it is fixed with a metal bar (so that it wouldn’t be stolen), it made me feel like engineer some fears, what if it breaks through, and then what? (((
The beach is nearby, from checkpoint 2 it’s exactly two minutes to go, but it’s still 8 minutes around the hotel. There is another checkpoint, but there you get to an unkempt beach and you have to walk along some kind of stream.
On the territory of the EC there are cafes, canteens, a first-aid post, a good children's town, outdoor exercise equipment. The territory is monitored, the grass is constantly cut, watered, you will not see garbage anywhere there. Those who deserve praise are those workers who work in the open area of ​​the hotel.
About the maids and cleaning, I wrote only about the 15th building, I can’t say anything about the rest. And is it three stars? I got the impression that they are simply mocking vacationers and that I was put in a promo room.
Outcome. The hotel is 50 to 50. As I liked the territory, I didn’t like the room, the utter callousness of the girl at the reception and the maid on the fifth floor. Asthmatic attacks are terrible, and in this hotel I experienced them every day. The rest was completely ruined, one consolation was that I had to stay in the center of Adler for three days on business and booked a hotel there. With such great joy, I have not left more than one hotel, I just wanted to quickly run away from the EC, which I did on September 24th.
