A beautiful region, charming with its beauties, clean air and fast rivers - Transcarpathia. This is a land where different cultures, traditions and peoples have mixed up, as the Transcarpathian region borders on four countries at once - Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. Every year, thousands of tourists come to Transcarpathia, because there is something to see here. This region is rich in attractions. And I will tell you about the most interesting places where you need to visit.

Perhaps the most beautiful place not only in Transcarpathia, but in the whole of Ukraine, is Lake Synevyr. No wonder it is also called the pearl of Transcarpathia or the sea eye of the Carpathians. This lake is legendary. And one of the legends tells about the unhappy love of the daughter of the local rich man Xin and the poor guy Vir, who are not destined to be together. By order of the girl's father, a stone was thrown from the mountain on the guy, and after learning about this, Xin cried out a whole lake of tears. The water in the lake is really the purest, like a tear, and even from the depths you can see the bottom of the lake. And the views around the water mirror are simply amazing! The tall fir trees around the lake are mesmerizing. On the banks of the Synevyr there is a sculptural composition "Sin and Vir" as a reminder of the immortal love of two lovers. This lake is located in the National Natural Park of the same name Synevyr.

Also on the territory of this national park there is a center for the rehabilitation of brown bears. A huge area where brown bears live. These bears are in need of rehabilitation, they were mistreated by their former owners and now they are there in conditions close to natural. And tourists can watch bears.

The height of the water fall is 14 meters. Surrounded by ancient beeches and tall fir trees, in a very picturesque place, this “wonder of nature” is located.

If you are in Transcarpathia in early May, then you should visit Khust. It is in Khust that the only plantation of narrow-leaved narcissus in the world, listed in the Red Book and growing here in natural conditions, is located. This is a protected area, a biosphere reserve. During the mass flowering of these plants, the earth looks as if covered with a white carpet, and the fragrance from the flowers spreads throughout the area.

The Transcarpathian region is very rich in castles. The most interesting, most beautiful castles are the Palanok castle in Mukachevo, the Uzhgorod castle and the castle of Count Shenborn in Chynadiyevo.

Palanok Castle is located on a mountain, so it is well visible from almost anywhere in the city. It is a monument of fortification architecture of the XIV-XVII centuries. The castle survived more than one assault and siege, changed its owners many times, but still stands and delights tourists with its beauty and power.

Uzhgorod castle looks simpler than Mukachevo, but it is the oldest fortress in Transcarpathia. The first mention of it appears in the IX century. Now within the walls of this castle there is a museum of local lore, and in the cellars there is an exposition "Torture Room".

Schönborn Castle is a former hunting castle-palace of Count Schönborn in a romantic French style. Now it is a functioning sanatorium "Karpaty". The castle has been preserved in excellent condition; it is decorated with a family coat of arms, turrets, weathercocks, and stained-glass windows. Around the castle there is a wonderful English park with various types of trees, with a lake where swans swim.
