Trains

During the New Year holidays, the commuter train schedule will also change. The time of movement of commuter trains on New Year's and Christmas nights will be extended until 2:00 am. Aeroexpress trains will operate as usual.

From December 30 to January 7, commuter trains will follow the Saturday schedule, January 8 - according to the Sunday schedule. And on January 9, electric trains will return to the usual schedule of the working day.

In total, 24 trains of the CPPK will be canceled, and 15 electric trains of the company will depart later at night on January 1 and 7. Most of the changes will occur in the schedule of express trains of the Yaroslavl direction of the railway.

For example, the daily train No. 6059 Pushkino - Moscow on the night of January 1 will depart 40 minutes later (at 0:27). And the electric train No. 6676 Moscow - Monino on January 1 and 7 - later by 1 hour 40 minutes (at 1:50). Express No. 6677 Monino - Moscow on New Year's Eve will leave at 0:09 - 58 minutes later than on other days.

Among the most popular places to celebrate the New Year are the streets of Moscow. And then, during the New Year holidays, few people stay at home. Muscovites go for a walk at the Journey to Christmas festival, go skating on giant skating rinks and slides for tubing, skiing and sledding... Public transport helps them move around the city, which operates these days according to a special holiday schedule. What it is and where not to drive a car, found out "RG".

On Tverskaya only on foot

"Journey to Christmas" gathers thousands of people in the capital who are not afraid of frost or sleet. A dense crowd of people walk along the sidewalks of Tverskaya, moving from site to site, looking at the light installations that have adorned Moscow. Tverskaya - from Triumphalnaya Square to the Kremlin - is given to pedestrians for five whole days. Local overlaps along one lane will begin tomorrow, December 29. And then the main street of the city, as well as Mokhovaya, Okhotny Ryad and almost all adjacent lanes will be completely blocked - this will happen on the night of Saturday, December 30, and will open only on January 3. On the last day of the old year, all approaches to Red Square will be closed, including Varvarka, Ilyinka, Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge. Cars will be allowed there again only on the third day.

Subway all night

Of course, the easiest way to get to the center on New Year's Eve and during the days of overlaps is by metro. For the second time, the subway on December 31 will work all night, without a break. According to the head of the Moscow Metro, Viktor Kozlovsky, trains will run on the night of January 1 at intervals of 3.5 to 10 minutes. The Moscow Central Ring will operate according to the same schedule. That is, having met the New Year and listening to the chimes in the center of the capital, it will be easy to return home.

By the way, Muscovites began to receive gifts from the metro even a week before the New Year. Two themed trains have been launched on the Koltsevaya Line.

Ground transport will also run on New Year's Eve - a total of 168 routes will work until the morning.

But on Christmas, January 7, metro trains will extend their working day until two in the morning, and 174 ground transport routes will also run.

Who for the city?

Trains are also adjusted to the New Year. Their schedule changes for all holidays, and starting from December 29th. According to the press service of the Central Suburban Passenger Company, due to the fact that there are fewer passengers, part of the trains are canceled during the holidays. From December 30 to January 7, they will run according to the Saturday schedule, January 8 - according to the Sunday schedule, and on the 9th everything will return to normal.

In addition, on New Year's Eve, on some routes, the last night trains will depart from the stations an hour later.

On the Leningrad direction, which is served by another carrier company, Moskovsko-Tverskaya Suburban Passenger, from January 1 to January 8, all electric trains, both Lastochki and ordinary ones, will run according to the weekend schedule. All changes have already been uploaded to applications with timetables - "Electric trains" and "Yandex. Electric trains", you can also watch it on the Russian Railways website.

The fare will rise, but not by much

Going on a trip, do not forget - from January 2, fares in Moscow are changing - a trip along the Troika will rise in price by one ruble, instead of 35 rubles, you will have to pay 36. Subscription prices will rise by several tens of rubles. But insignificantly - the maximum rise in price is 3.8 percent.

But electric trains, as Maxim Dyakonov, executive director of the CPPK, promised, most likely will not rise in price next year. But in the first half of the year, the company is going to finally release an application through which it will be possible to buy one-time travel tickets, which will save passengers from having to run to the box office every time - today 70 percent of tickets sold at the box office and vending machines are one-time.

By the way

And on the first of January, turnstiles will be removed in large buses with "accordion". In return, each door will have a validator. The city also promises to tighten controls. In total, according to Mosgortrans, 60 bus and 15 tram routes will operate without turnstiles. Removing the turnstiles will speed up the journey for each passenger by an average of 5 minutes.

How transport will work in other major cities

Saint Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, on New Year's Eve and Christmas, the metro and surface transport will operate around the clock. True, this does not mean that all buses, trolleybuses and trams will return to their usual routes. We are talking about night buses, which, if possible, duplicate metro lines. Fortunately, in winter, bridges on the Neva are not bred due to the cessation of navigation. However, Nevsky Prospekt will still be blocked from nine in the evening. The action in the city center will end only after three in the morning, when festive fireworks will be launched into the sky. It should be noted that at night the public transport of the Northern capital works only for cash, tickets are not valid. Travel on the ground costs 40 rubles in St. Petersburg, underground - 45.

Ekaterinburg

Before the winter holidays, a sightseeing tram decorated with garlands was launched around Yekaterinburg: you can watch the trailer sparkling with lights on the evening streets. On New Year's Eve itself, the city subway will operate until 1 am, and ground public transport - buses, trolleybuses and trams - until 22:30. During the holidays, carriers operate according to the standard weekday schedule.

Kazan

According to Department of Transportation statistics, every New Year's Eve they carry up to 77 million passengers. It is quite natural that all of them, however, as well as other citizens who use public transport, are interested in how this service sector will work?

How does ground transportation work?

According to the head of the above department, land transportation (trams, trolleybuses, buses) on the most popular routes in the city will be carried out until 03.00. The operation of the night routes of the ground mode of transport has been fully preserved.

These include buses No. H1–H6. Trolleybuses of the route Bch, Bk, as well as No. 15, 63. The night tram No. 3 operates without changes in the traffic schedule.

Operating mode of electric transport and metro

As for the traffic of suburban railway trains, they operate until 01.30 minutes. Electric trains will also be transferred to a special mode of operation. In particular, on December 31 and January 1, their schedule will correspond to the weekend schedule.

Aeroexpress operates as usual, but the most popular type of public transport is still the metro. In what mode does the subway work in the new year 2017? On this day, its activities will be extended by an hour. The entrance directly to the metro station is open until 02.00. Thus, the work of the metro has been extended by 1 hour.

Taxi Schedule

Of course, on this night it will be possible to use taxi services. On holidays, the fleet of vehicles operating on the lines will be increased to 50,000. Therefore, there will be no significant interruptions in the operation of individual transport.

On average, during New Year's Eve, approximately 400,000 passengers use this type of transport. At the same time, the management of taxi companies assured that the fare on that day would not change. It will be equal to the regular rates.

Movement restriction

It should be noted that traffic will be blocked in some areas of the city. Therefore, you should think over your travel route in advance, taking into account the existing restrictions.

Traffic will be completely blocked on the festive night from 20.00 to 03.00 in the area of Birzhevaya Street to Red Square. In addition, temporary restrictions will apply, which will be announced later, on Tverskaya, Mokhovaya, Okhotny Ryad streets.
