The population of Kabardinka is only about 7.5 thousand inhabitants. Kabardinka received its name thanks to the regiment stationed here, called Kabardian by the name of the Caucasian province of Kabarda, which at that time recognized the power of Russia. After the end of the Turkish and Caucasian wars, when peace was established, a revival of a new life began here.

Beaches

The beaches in Kabardinka are mostly pebbly but very clean and well maintained. They start from Cape Doob and stretch along the coast to Cape Penai. The width is no more than 30-35 meters, and in some places there are bulk sandy areas. The entrance to the sea is uniform, but the depth grows rapidly. Beaches are usually accessible to all vacationers. Even if the passage to the beach is closed from the side of Kabardinka streets, you can still get to it along the coast. But there are rare exceptions when the beaches are fenced. The most popular are the beaches that are closer to the embankment and the center of Kabardinka, and these beaches are best equipped with everything you need. But the water is clearer, of course, where there are fewer people. Another feature of the beaches of Kabardinka, between the areas occupied by sanatoriums or children's camps, there are undeveloped areas that seem to belong to no one. Accordingly, there are fewer vacationers on them.

Central Beach

The central beach is the most popular place in Kabardinka. The beach is pebbly, with a gentle slope into the water. The beach is fully equipped, there are showers, changing rooms, toilets, a wide selection of beach equipment and water activities will not leave you indifferent, and you will definitely try something. The beach is very clean and there are even special places for smokers. The only drawback that may be a large number of vacationers on the beach.

The beach of the boarding house "Victoria"

The beach of the boarding house "Victoria" is located in the western part of Kabardinka and stretches for 200 meters. Here bulk small pebbles and here it is convenient to have a rest with children. A fully equipped beach will delight you with a comfortable stay. The beach has everything you need, rescue service, showers, sun loungers, umbrellas, awnings, a lot of water activities, a dive center, a cafe. The bottom is without large stones, but the depth increases quickly.

The beach of the sanatorium "Pearl of the Sea"

On the beach of the sanatorium "Pearl of the Sea" there is a conditional division into an adult and children's swimming area. When it is time for children to swim, the passage to the beach is closed. In addition to the usual conditions of an equipped beach, there is even a left-luggage office.

The beach of the health complex "Azure"

Health-improving complex "Azure" closed beach. But as already mentioned, getting here is easy along the coast. Equipped with shady canopies, sun loungers, showers, changing rooms, there is a first-aid post and lifeguards, a cafe, and they also offer a variety of entertainment.

Beach boarding house "Kabardinka"

One of the best beaches in Kabardinka, as the excellent conditions of a fully equipped beach are combined with a moderate number of holidaymakers. Small pebbles and water are cleaner than in the central part of Kabardinka. The beach is closed, but you can walk along the shore.

Beach resort "Lastochka"

The beach of the resort "Lastochka" is a wide pebble beach in the center of Kabardinka. Convenient entry into the water, a very popular holiday destination. Facilities on the beach are minimal: a shady canopy, a changing room, a rescue post, a left-luggage office. Nearby are cafes, shops, attractions.

Beach boarding house "Metro", "Nadym"

These beaches have two levels: shade canopies are installed on the upper level, and only sun loungers are closer to the sea. Fully equipped beaches with many activities.

Beaches of recreation centers "Bereg", "Lukomorye" and "Iskra"

The beaches of the recreation centers "Bereg", "Lukomorye" and "Iskra" are actually wild beaches, because of the amenities there are only a couple of sun loungers and umbrellas. Only in Iskra there is a shady canopy. But it is not crowded here, and the water is amazingly clear.

Beaches of children's health camps

As a rule, beaches assigned to children's health complexes have minimal amenities. At best, sheds, locker rooms and rescue posts. The exception is the beach of the children's camp "Change". There is a well-maintained beach, there are changing rooms, showers, sun loungers, hydromassage, water bikes and much more. But the most important thing is that here, despite the pebble beach, the bottom is sandy and the descent is gentle. Perhaps this is the best place to relax with children. And there is car parking nearby.

Wild beach at Cape Doob

Getting to these wild beaches is not easy. If you go on foot, it will take about 40 minutes and you will have to overcome the closed beach of the Mayak cottage village. But if you are persistent and want some wild nature, then you are not afraid of any obstacles. Here you will find almost 2 km of pebbly beaches with large stones and cliffs hanging over them, the plants on which create a sense of primitiveness. This place is popular among campers and nude sunbathers. But it is here that the cleanest sea with clear water.

Wild beaches at Cape Penay

The closer to Cape Penai, the fewer people, and, accordingly, the eyes watching you. This is where the wild beaches of Kabardinka are located. The only thing that should be attributed with caution is the possible sharp stones at the entrance to the sea. Before going down to the sea there is an observation deck, and on the beach itself there are many nooks and crannies. What is a wild beach is the absence of sun loungers, umbrellas and annoying sellers, there are no cafes and noisy and shrill slides. It is here that you can enjoy the silence and listen to the whisper of the waves. Gentle sun and warm transparent waves, do you really need something else?

In August 2017, Maria and Alexander and their daughter Nadezhda rested in the village (previously it was an urban-type settlement) of Kabardinka, Gelendzhik District, Krasnodar Territory.

Below are their impressions of the holiday, an assessment of the living conditions, food and infrastructure of the village, as well as tips and secrets, knowledge of which will help to plan a family vacation economically.

Details about what to watch in Kabardinka and where to take the child - in the review of the main ones. And for those who have not yet decided exactly whether it is worth going here - the pros and cons of various Black Sea resorts for families with children.

Kabardinka is located very close to Gelendzhik - it may be useful to you (also based on personal experience), as well as about.

I have known Kabardian for a long time: I rested there with my mother from 13 to 19 years old. Then, with my husband, I went to other places, but I definitely wanted to show my daughter the resort, which, it seems, “grew up” with me.

Coming to Kabardinka from 2000 to 2006, I noticed how the beach was expanding, how the embankment was lengthening, how home mini-hotels were growing, how the entertainment infrastructure was developing. Every year the village surprised and delighted with “new clothes”.

In 2016, I did not recognize my beloved Kabardinka. It has developed into a classy resort. Every day we discovered something new for ourselves in a familiar place.

Season and climate: when is the best time to travel with children

Kabardinka is decorated with distant blue mountains. It is located on the shore of the Tsemesskaya Bay, and the water in the bay heats up early and does not cool down for a long time.

In Kabardinka, you can relax in any summer month, in late spring and early autumn. It is quite warm there from mid-May (up to 26 degrees) and until the 20th of September (24 degrees). Comfortable for children water temperature (up to 26 degrees) and air (up to 31 degrees) is observed in August.

Those who rested in October claim that it was possible to swim in the sea even at this time of the year. The village is protected from the winds by a cape, so there are no strong storms there, although when there are waves on the sea, swimming is not recommended.

But the cleanest sea is in late May-early June, so with very young children it is better to go at this time.

According to the recall of mothers, children get sick less when they arrive at the sea before the start of the high season, however June is the rainiest month this month. This should be taken into account when choosing clothes for walking and have a compact umbrella with you. True, the rains are warm and short-term, so they do not spoil the rest at all.

We lived in a home mini-hotel "Summer Coolness" on Mira Street. Rooms from ultra-economical (there are two beds in the room, a table, a hanger, a toilet and a shower in the yard, from 600 rubles) to a luxury level with a bathroom in the room, separate beds, a wardrobe, a TV, air conditioning, a table, chairs and a clothes dryer, from 2500 rubles).

Of course, this "suite" can be called that in the sector of home mini-hotels. There are comfortable benches in the yard, lush green spaces, kitchens with stoves, tables, chairs and a full set of dishes (many women comfortably cooked borscht, baked pancakes for their families).

Food: cafes, shops, market

It is simply impossible to stay hungry in Kabardinka. Products for every taste and budget can be bought everywhere. We went to the Magnit store, where there were long lines, and to a tiny nameless store on Novaya Street not far from the house where we lived. Bread, drinking water, convenience foods for breakfast were taken from stores: cereals, sausages and instant noodles. For my daughter I bought baby purees in a soft package.

The village has an excellent market with a rich selection of vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, spices, dried fruits, honey, teas. There we bought various souvenirs in the form of nuts and pine cones in honey, teas with fragrant herbs, sweets such as Turkish delight, churchkhela (who does not know - these are nuts strung on a harsh thread in frozen boiled grape juice, an incredibly tasty thing).

In addition, in the lanes and streets near the gates, remote from the beach, the owners exhibit their own products and vegetables and fruits from their own vegetable gardens and orchards. There you can buy homemade wine and other alcoholic drinks, honey of different varieties, handicrafts: crafts and souvenirs from shells and stones, beads, children's toys, pictures and the like.

Cafes and canteens are located almost throughout the village. On the coast overlooking the sea, you can dine beautifully while listening to "live music", average check 1000 rubles per person. We dined mostly at home, buying kebab by weight, kebab or other takeaway food.

You can dine with three courses (first, meat or fish with a side dish, salad and a drink) can be tasty and inexpensive in numerous canteens. Price from 400 to 700 per person, The child can be asked to put a half portion at half price.

We had breakfast at home with semi-finished products or tea with cookies.

Beach

There is only one beach in the village - the central one. The beaches of children's health camps are separated by symbolic ropes, but vacationers are also located there, leaving only for the time of bathing children. Somewhere in half an hour's drive there is a "wild beach", we have not been there, I can not say anything about it.

The central beach is very well maintained, clean, with large pebbles. Umbrellas, sunbeds, trestle beds are rented, cold drinks, ice cream, boiled corn and boiled crayfish are sold, they carry churchkhela, pies, belyashi and other food.

Urns are installed along the perimeter of the beach, cleanliness is maintained. The temperature of water and air, a warning about the prohibition of smoking are constantly announced over the loudspeaker, services are briefly covered: rental of catamarans, jet skis, parachuting, gliding, banana and tablet rides, boat trips.

The density of vacationers is always consistently high, but there is enough space for everyone. The water near the shore is dirty, further - cleaner. A significant drawback for families with children is the sharp slope of the bottom: a step forward is 10 centimeters deeper. Children without armlets and inflatables do not swim, because they already have a head of water a meter from the shore.

Rescuers regularly patrol the water area, returning swimmers from distant buoys.

Leisure

The road to the beach is laid through a shady alley with tall old pine trees. Needles and leaves are regularly swept away. The urns are emptied as they fill up, there are no spontaneous dumps anywhere.

My daughter really enjoyed walking along this alley. It has a lot of statues, fountains, flower girls of unusual shapes. Despite her young age, she happily posed next to them.

We went to the upside down house, where everything is really upside down. We visited an exhibition of Cossack art (my daughter really liked the outfits of the “Cossacks” who met us at the wattle fence).

We visited the old park - a luxurious garden with amazing buildings, magnificent fountains and various green spaces. My daughter ran along the bridges and looked at the mosaic tiles.

Kabardinka has a huge playground where you can play for free. There is also a paid site. There are not many children there and my daughter did not want to go there.

We visited a crocodile farm and a dinosaur park. Of course, ticket prices are very high - 400 rubles per adult and 200 per child, but the impressions were favorable.

There are many stalls selling excursions in the village. Excursions are carried out in the Gelendzhik region, as well as in Sochi, Anapa, Abrau Durso and even in Abkhazia.

We were unpleasantly surprised by drug prices and other assortment of pharmacies.

I forgot at home the hormonal medicine I needed and had to buy in Kabardinka. At home (in Rostov-on-Don) I paid about 900 rubles for it, and at the resort the price range was from 1500 to 3000 rubles.

Children's antipyretic, antiviral and enterosorbents are sold at prices one and a half to three times more than in Rostov.

Drinking water in Kabardinka is more expensive. We threw a pack of six five-liter plastic bottles of water into the trunk. Fuel is also sold at inflated prices. We took two cans of gasoline with us just in case. Before leaving Kabardinka, we refueled from one canister, saving about a third of the cost.

In order to travel cheaply and not at the expense of the quality of your vacation, you need to do a few simple things (some are suitable for those who travel to Kabardinka by car):

  • Collect a first aid kit at home (antipyretic, antiviral, enterosorbents, drugs for diarrhea, vomiting and constipation, hemostatic agents, dressings; for children, medicines should be in a form convenient for taking - in syrup; suppositories and medicines requiring special storage conditions should not be taken).
  • Make a supply of water for the trip. Do not give children milk, juices and other drinks on the way, give only pure non-carbonated water.
  • Take simple foods for a snack: fruits, vegetables, bread. Exclude from the diet on the road perishable foods, sweets, fast food.

In general, you can relax in Kabardinka interestingly and inexpensively. Municipal authorities are making a lot of efforts for the dynamic development of the village. And the resort can hardly be called a village - rather a small well-groomed seaside town. Will definitely visit again with my husband and daughter.

Kabardinka is located on the Black Sea coast - a small village, but with great opportunities for off-season recreation. Every summer, under the hot southern sun, resort life is in full swing - beach holidays, entertainment for children and adults, excursions, eco-trip and festivals. But you can be treated and improve your health in Kabardinka at any time of the year - local health resorts work all year round. The healing resources in this region are the richest - from the healing air of the sea area to mineral waters, the source of which is discovered near the village. The climate of Kabardinka is favorable for both treatment and recreation. These places are considered the driest on the Caucasian Black Sea coast, and in terms of the number of sunny days and the absence of fogs, they compete with the Southern coast of Crimea.

What to try

You can feel like a real highlander if you start the day with khash. This is a Caucasian soup made from beef meat and offal. It is served with herbs and garlic, and eaten with spicy radish. According to the rules, khash is supposed to be eaten for breakfast. They say that this is an excellent remedy for the consequences of yesterday's feasts. Souvlaki mini skewers are a typical Greek food. The only departure from tradition is that Kabardian chefs wrap them in pita bread instead of pita. “Tzhvzhik” is not a set of letters, this is the name of the Armenian liver dish, which is definitely worth a try with local wine. If you want sea exotics at the resort, experts advise you to order dishes from the Black Sea shark.

Cafes and restaurants Kabardinka

There are many places in Kabardinka where you can have a tasty lunch and a bite to eat on the go. In the resort village there are both democratic canteens and top-class restaurants. As, for example, the restaurant complex "Kastalskaya Kupel". This is a cultural and health center in the bosom of nature - a large beautiful area, gazebos, a pond, bridges and aviaries with exotic birds. In addition to cafes and restaurants, there are outlets with resort fast food - shawarma, pasties, ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn. Most of the pavilions are located on the embankment and the pedestrian alley - some of them work around the clock.

The climate in Kabardinka is considered the best in the Gelendzhik region: mountain-sea, moderately humid and suitable for both recreation and treatment. It is especially favorable for patients with broncho-pulmonary diseases.

Due to the fact that Kabardinka is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges that keep the warm wind from the sea and keep cool from the mainland, here is the longest holiday season on the coast: from May to November. During these 7 months, the weather is mostly dry and warm: Kabardinka is also one of the driest places in Gelendzhik and other, more southern regions of the Black Sea coast. By the number of sunny days and the absence of fog, the weather in Kabardinka can be compared with the southern coast of Crimea or Anapa.

Sea breezes do not allow the thermometer to rise very high and soften the heat. Strong winds up to 40 m/s are possible in spring and autumn.

Kabardinka for children

In the recent past, many pioneer camps worked in Kabardinka - Soviet schoolchildren spent their summer holidays in them. Today's Kabardinka is not only a children's resort, but still remains a wonderful place to relax with children. Little tourists, in addition to sea and sunbathing, can get a lot of impressions from the entertainment that Kabardinka offers them. At every corner in the village there is a rental of children's bicycles, scooters, roller skates and children's cars. The art glass gallery invites young tourists to the Fairytale Castle installation, workshops and excursions. Seahorses, sharks, stingrays and other inhabitants of the deep sea, as well as its largest exhibit, the Baltic seal, are waiting for young visitors in the Kabardian Oceanarium. An excursion to the exotarium will replenish the knowledge of kids about the world of reptiles - it contains lizards, turtles, snakes and even crocodiles. In neighboring Gelendzhik there are three water parks, a Safari Park, an entertainment complex "Olympus" and a dolphinarium - and this is only 20 minutes away by car.
