What does a seated car look like on a Russian Railways train? Classes of train cars. In case of a long journey

As some of you already know from my Facebook, we went to Penza and this time train No. 110, No. 109 was chosen as the transport for delivering our mortal carcasses, since there is now a daily express from Samara to Penza (4 hours on the way) and a bunch decent branded trains (about 6-7 hours). We will make a reservation at the very beginning of our post that all of the following applies to branded trains. But, even having bought electronic tickets for good trains, we argued what we would see on the spot: a gypsy camp with a bear in a bag, wooden benches upholstered with slats, like in electric trains, demobilization, stench, stuffiness and socks?

In fact, everything turned out to be not at all as bad as we imagined - a new car, comfortable chairs, a dry closet (this is the one that is not closed an hour before settlements), old Soviet comedies on the screens and pop music from the speakers. There is even a small library with Russian Railways bookplates. And of course, tea in glasses with cup holders, where the spoon rings so melodiously on the edge. There are sockets for charging gadgets under each (!) seat.

Of the worst suspicions, the stuffiness was unconditionally justified and, of course, the legs in the aisle. But it seems to me that Russian Railways trains leave the assembly line already with their own atmosphere and at least one specially trained person putting their feet in socks into the narrow aisle.

A sit-down car is a place in which half of the passengers will change in six and a half hours. And do not be afraid of fellow travelers - in the first approximation, these are pleasant people who enthusiastically follow the ups and downs in the long-known by heart "Diamond Hand" or play the fool on narrow tables.

Cars in the trains of Russian Railways are divided into several types, depending on the number of seats and the level of comfort. For most types of wagons, Tutu.ru has a seat map.

seated wagon

In the sitting car there are separately standing soft chairs with armrests. It resembles the cabin of an airplane or an intercity bus, but there is much more space. It is better to take a ticket for a sit-down car when the trip lasts several hours. So you won't get tired. These are, for example, day express trains between Moscow and St. Petersburg or Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov.

Seated cars vary greatly in location and number of seats, as well as service classes. Therefore, there is no single scheme for them. For example, the figure shows the scheme of the train car No. 102YA Moscow - Yaroslavl.

On Tutu.ru, in the "Trains" section, there are seat maps for many sit-down trains, including popular and. When buying a train ticket (on the seat selection page), for some trains, the direction of travel is indicated. This allows you to choose comfortable seats so as not to drive backwards.

High-speed train "Strizh", 1st class car

Econom-class train

This is the most popular type of carriage due to the low price of tickets. There are 54 seats in the car - 9 compartments with 6 beds. Two top, two bottom and two side. There are no doors between the compartments, they are all connected by a common corridor. All the bottom places are odd-numbered, and the top ones are even-numbered.

Seats 37 to 54 are "sides", they are shorter than the seats in the block of 4. Seats 33 to 38 are near the toilet. Here, the slamming of the door leading to the corridor and unpleasant odors can interfere.

In compartments 3 (seats 9-12) and 6 (seats 21-24) the windows do not open. This is true for older trains without air conditioning. In new trains, ventilation works normally.

Usually there are two toilets in the car, there is titanium with boiling water for brewing tea. Each compartment is equipped with tables, on the sides a table and two seats are obtained if the lower shelf is expanded. There is a lot of space for luggage in the reserved seat - these are compartments under the lower seats and third shelves.

In a fully occupied reserved seat, it can be stuffy and cramped (especially on the side seats). Second-class carriages in branded trains are cleaner and more comfortable: there is air conditioning and a dry closet, more sockets.

A second-class carriage in the branded train of Russian Railways

Shared wagon

Usually this is a reserved seat car with three seats on each lower shelf, including the lower side ones. This car has several serious drawbacks.

Firstly, reserved seats are not suitable for long sitting - due to the lack of a soft back and headrest. Secondly, a feeling of tightness is created - there are no armrests that separate people from each other. Finally, in most cases, in the general carriage, all tickets are sold without a seat - whoever managed to do it earlier took the best seats.

This is the least comfortable type of carriage, but the ticket to it is also the cheapest.

Compartment carriage

In a compartment car, there are usually 32 or 36 seats, divided into compartments with four seats in each. There are cars with 38 seats, where seats 37-38 are a double compartment. The bottom places are odd and the top places are even. The compartments are isolated from each other and are locked. There are folding chairs in the common corridor.

The compartment has a mirror, a table, hangers and hooks for clothes, as well as a night lamp for each passenger. Unlike the reserved seat, there is no third shelf in the compartment - it is replaced by a niche for luggage under the ceiling. Therefore, you can sit freely on the top shelf in the compartment.

Coupe is one of the most popular types of carriages due to the combination of price and comfort. There are fewer people in the car, extraneous conversations do not interfere, and personal belongings are safe. In the compartment car, similarly to the reserved seat, there are two toilets and titanium. But in a compartment there are fewer queues for the toilet compared to a reserved seat, since much fewer passengers ride in such a car.

Often, the upper shelves in a compartment can be bought at the price of a reserved seat. In some carriages, when buying a ticket, you can choose the type of compartment. Both men and women can ride in a mixed compartment, and only women can ride in a women's compartment. The type of compartment is determined by the passenger who bought the ticket first.

Compartment in the carriage of the private carrier JSC "TKS"

Luxury car (SV)

SV is a sleeping car. It has from 8 to 10 compartments with 2 beds, both are located below. But there are suites (SV) with an upper and lower seat, but in such a compartment there are also only 2 seats. The standard suite has 18 beds. Suite (SV) is more comfortable than a compartment car, as it does not have upper shelves. On the lower shelves there is a soft back for sitting.

In terms of the level of service, the SV is better than a compartment car - the suite usually has a call button for the conductor, air conditioning, and some trains also have a TV. Depending on the carrier company, passengers are provided with a different set of services (food, drinks, travel kit, press, linen). For example, the carrier TKS JSC has high-quality wagons and a high level of service.

Suite (SV) is convenient for a family or romantic trip, when you can buy all compartments. The main disadvantage of SV is the price of travel. It is usually 3-4 times higher than in a reserved seat and 1.5-2 times higher than in a compartment. A trip to NE will cost more than an airplane for a similar distance.

soft wagon

In a soft car there can be 4, 5 or 6 compartments. The layout of the compartment itself and the furnishings in it also vary greatly. Each compartment has 1 or 2 beds. If there are two places, then the lower one is a sofa that converts into a bed 120 cm wide. The compartments themselves are similar to suites, but differ in larger area.

The soft car is equipped at the level of a 3-4-star hotel: each compartment has a dry closet, washbasin, shower, air conditioning, TV, soft sofa and armchair. Here they always serve a hot breakfast, give out a shower set, a bathrobe and a terry towel, and the latest press. The soft carriages are equipped with a bar.

Of the minuses - the high price, significantly exceeding the cost of a plane ticket.

International carriage with 4-seater compartments

In terms of comfort, four-seater compartments on international routes are similar to ordinary compartment cars in the Russian Federation. But, as a rule, new cars go abroad, so they have a lot of pleasant little things (for example, a board with a running line in the corridor).

Another compartment in such a carriage can turn into a suite if you raise the upper shelves. Depending on the route, the carriage may have a shared shower, while the compartment may have air conditioning, individual lighting for each seat, and sockets.

International carriage with 3-seater compartments

Some international trains have triple compartments. In total, there are 33 seats in such a car. In the compartment, all three berths are located one under the other on one side. Such compartments can be used as doubles - the middle shelf remains in the raised position.

They are smaller than 4-seat coupes and can feel cramped. When there are three passengers in it, they are all forced to sit or lie down together, since it is impossible to sit with the middle shelf lowered. Therefore, cars with 3-seater compartments are now used very rarely.

It is pleasant to ride in such a compartment only if you buy all three seats together and raise the middle shelf. Of the amenities they may have (but not in all compartments) an armchair, a table, a washbasin and a wardrobe.

To understand which places are best to choose for a trip, you need to decide on a few important things. Firstly, how far the journey is, secondly, whether children or pets will participate in the trip, and thirdly, what budget is planned to be allocated for travel.

seated wagons

In the case of a short trip, usually no more than 5-6 hours, you can limit yourself to an electric train, only if you go without children. The arrangement of seats in a seated car of this composition is similar to a regular bus, where there are two rows of seats - on the right and on the left side.

Seating on the train

What to look for when choosing seats

Good seats in such compositions should be soft, with armrests and headrests. If wooden benches are placed in them, then such a train should not be chosen for a long journey.

Scheme of seating arrangement in a seated carriage of increased comfort

But tickets for such a seated car will cost less than a trip in a compartment or SV.

Intercity and Intercity+ trains offer passengers an increased degree of comfort. They are usually equipped with soft and comfortable seats and air conditioning. The price of a ticket for such a train will be much higher than a trip in a reserved seat or in a regular train, but the difference in comfort is significant.

The best places in such trains are seats in the middle of the car. Near them the least passage of passengers. Most often, all odd numbers indicate a seat near the window, and even numbers - closer to the aisle.

Choosing one or the other is everyone's business, some passengers like to look out the window all the way, so they buy odd numbers. On the other hand, the seat located closer to the aisle allows you to get up and move around the train at any time without disturbing your neighbor nearby.

There is a more budget option and with more comfort, compared to the train - these are cars with 90 seats or more, such tickets are classified as economy class.

Scheme in economy class

Their scheme is that passengers are placed on two floors or one more row of seats is added on one side. It is stuffy to ride in them, especially in summer, and a high level of noise from passengers can also interfere with a pleasant trip.

Each such composition has two toilets, one at the beginning and the other at the end. Some trains offer dry closets for passengers, this allows you to use the restroom even when passing through sanitary zones.

When buying a ticket for a train with a large number of seats, you should check the availability and serviceability of air conditioners, as a trip without it in the summer can turn into a nightmare.

If there is a desire and funds allow, to travel more comfortably, then you should choose wagons that have the highest class. They have only 19 seats, which makes the trip more spacious and quiet.

Business class seat map

The above-mentioned increased comfort trains usually run over short distances. On the territory of the railways of the Russian Federation, the most popular of this class are Hundai, Tarpan and Skoda cars.

The seated train of the latter company is distinguished by the fact that one train carries about 600 people, such passenger capacity is ensured by the fact that Skoda has double-decker cars. Therefore, it will not be as comfortable to ride in such a train than in others.

Important! The layout of seats in each particular car is different. When buying tickets online, on the Russian Railways website, you can see the placement of seats in each train and choose the most attractive seats.

reserved seat wagons

If the trip is planned to be longer and it is necessary to travel all night, it is better to choose seats on the reserved seat train. The convenience lies in the fact that the seat allows you to lie down, and if necessary, you can buy bedding and have a good sleep on the road.

Scheme reserved seat car

To make the trip more enjoyable, you need to choose the lower shelves. Numbering will help you determine correctly - all odd numbers of places are lower, and all even ones are upper.

It is important to note that from 37 to 54 numbers are side seats. Their peculiarity is that they are shorter and located along the car, so all passing passengers will touch their luggage.

The reserved seat also has two toilets - at the beginning and at the end of the car. And this must also be taken into account when buying a ticket. Seats located closer to the restrooms are the most accessible, if the trip is planned long, then the knocking of doors and an unpleasant smell can completely ruin the trip.

On a note. Good places in the reserved seat include the lower shelves in the middle of the car - these are all odd numbers, from the 5th to the 27th.

Second-class shared carriages

This is the most budget option of the trip, but also the most inconvenient. It provides for moving in an ordinary reserved seat car, on the lower shelves of which there are three passengers at once.

Such a long journey can be very painful, because there are no armrests, headrests, you can not lie down. There are a large number of passengers in the car, so walking or standing will not work either.

The layout of seats in a common reserved seat car

The negative point is that a specific seat number is not sold in such cars. And the best seats are occupied by the one who came first. And if landing is planned at an intermediate station, then you should not count on convenience.

It is always very stuffy in shared carriages, smells unpleasant and very noisy, so this travel option is acceptable for very short distances.

Important! The carriages in the reserved seat are ventilated mainly only naturally through open windows, but they are not always in working order.

Seats in a compartment

A car of this class implies a layout for 40 passengers, 4 people in each compartment. Two of them are at the bottom, two at the top.

The layout of the seats in the compartment car

As seats in such a car, it is better to take the lower shelves, since you can only ride on the upper one while lying down, and in order to sit down, you need to disturb the neighbor from below.

The advantage of such a trip is comfort. The seats in the compartment are softer, there are much fewer passengers, there is no long queue for the toilets and the flea market in the aisle.

When traveling in a compartment, it is more convenient to store your belongings and there is less risk that they will be stolen.

SV cars

Traveling in such carriages provides only lower seats, therefore, from the point of view of comfort, they are the most attractive, but their price is much higher.

The layout of the seats in the carriage

Such a place allows you to sit, lie down, get up. There is no additional shelf above the head, on which one more passenger is located.

You should not worry about the safety of things in such a class of train, as the neighbors are usually more respectable and wealthy people ride in them.

Such seats always provide for the presence of air conditioning, so the trip in hot weather will be quite comfortable. To access fresh air in each compartment, you can open the window.

Which places to choose when traveling with children

If you need to take children on the road, then you should immediately discard the common cars.

There are several reasons for this:

  • Significant inconvenience - you can not sit or lie down normally.
  • No armrests, no headrests.
  • Often there are a lot of unreliable passengers in such cars, so you need to carefully monitor your belongings.
  • Unsanitary conditions due to large crowds.
  • Stuffiness.
  • The flea market.

To choose good seats when traveling with a child, you need to decide how long the road will be. If it only takes a few hours, then Intercity sit-down cars will do just fine.

In the case of a long journey:

  • With a modest budget, choose the lower shelves in the reserved seat, but not the side ones. Numbering will help with this - good places are under an odd number from 5 to 27.
  • If funds allow, then it is better to choose a compartment or SV car, so the child will be more comfortable and spacious, and the road will be transferred calmly and without stress.

Note! Children under the age of six do not need to buy a separate ticket, they can ride in the same place with their parent. Children aged 6 and above require a separate travel document.

Which seats to choose when traveling on a train with animals

There are rules for transporting animals by rail. It all depends on:

  • The type of carriage in which the ticket is bought.
  • Type of pet.

A ticket to a single CV allows you to carry both a large dog and small animals in a cage for free.

To transport a large dog in a compartment, you will have to buy all 4 seats, but in the reserved seat there is no such possibility at all.

To carry a container with a small animal in a compartment, a reserved seat must pay a separate fee to the cashier for such a service.

To travel with a pet in a container, in a seated train car, Intercity or in general, you need to buy a separate seat.

You must also comply with the following conditions:

  • The dog must be muzzled, collared and on a leash.
  • Small animals must be kept in special containers or boxes.
  • No more than two small pets in one box.
  • One ticket - one container.

These are the basic conditions that must be observed when moving within Russia.

If there is a need to transport animals abroad, you need to read the conditions and rules of a particular country. For example, in Norway and the UK, the import and export of pets is prohibited. And in Finland it is allowed to bring no more than two dogs.

Differences in the toilet depending on the class of the car

An important component, especially a long trip, is the very fact of the presence of a toilet and sanitary and hygienic conditions in the latrines.

There are not always bad toilets in trains with a large number of passengers.

So in the modern Intercity sit-down cars, they try to keep the latrines in order and clean. But a trip on such a train is more expensive than a regular and common reserved seat.

In the latter, the main problem is the toilets. Most often, sanitary and hygienic conditions in reserved seats and general carriages wish to be the best. The equipment is old, and due to the large number of passengers, the conductors do not have time to clean up, and the smell of the toilet spreads to the entire train. This is especially noticeable on the seats located at the end of the car.

Toilet in a reserved seat car

In the summer, stuffiness is added to the unpleasant smell, and the lack of air conditioning exacerbates the situation.

In compartment cars and SVs, things are much better with latrines, since the number of passengers is much smaller. And to everything else, each compartment is also closed, so unpleasant odors cannot penetrate.

Cleaning in the toilets of compartment cars is carried out much better, and the toilets themselves are more spacious.

People who often ride the Russian railway, whether it is a regular train or an electric train, know a few secrets on how to choose good places for both short and long distances:

  • To have plenty to choose from, you need to take tickets in advance. The sale of travel documents starts a month before the date of departure, so if you are planning a long trip, it is better to buy seats in advance.
  • In the electric train, where there are only seats, it is recommended to take tickets at least a week in advance. It is easier to buy a ticket on them than in a compartment or reserved seat, as they follow much more often. But still, if you want to travel comfortably, it is better to think about a travel document in advance.
  • Install the application on the Russian Railways phone - this way you can constantly monitor the appearance of new places in the cars.
  • If you urgently need to leave, and there are no tickets to the required station, you need to check the availability of seats before the next stops. On the Russian railway, each station is given a certain number of seats. Therefore, it may be that there are simply no tickets to a particular station.
  • If it was not possible to purchase a ticket in advance, you can try to get it on the last day. It often happens that passengers due to force majeure cannot travel and give up tickets. Also on the day of departure, new places may appear, as all previously made reservations are cancelled.
  • For long trips in a reserved seat, you do not need to take seats near the toilet, it is better to take the lower side seat, but in the middle of the car.
  • If you are planning a long journey with your family, it is better to buy seats in a compartment or a CB. So the road will not have unpleasant moments, in the form of: bad neighbors, stuffiness or an unpleasant smell from the toilet, which can ruin the trip.

Russian Railways provides a variety of transportation options suitable for any budget. Everyone chooses the most acceptable option, but using the above rules and tips, you can make your trip more enjoyable and comfortable. And so that there are no troubles on the road, it is better to plan everything in advance.

In any Aeroflot in a foreign plane there is no comfort simpler and dearer (c)

Over the past year, having personally tested Sapsan and electronic registration more than once, I have already begun to think that things are getting better in the Russian Railways, the service is improving, and soon we will have everything just like in some Eurostar.

So, I decided to go for the weekend to my aunt in Orel. Between Orel and Moscow about 400 km. In the late 90s, a daily express electric train began to run between Moscow and Orel, the journey time was only 4 and a half hours. All seats on the train are seated. Similar express trains have been launched in the last decade between Moscow and Vladimir, between Moscow and Tula, and in a number of nearby destinations. This is how it looks like:

I have known this train for a long time, I ride it about once every six months. Usually there are 2 categories of tickets: 1st class - cars with non-reclining large seats, and 2nd - reclining seats like in an airplane or, rather, in a bus. I bought tickets for the second class via the Internet and, not expecting a catch, arrived at the station.

The fun began with the fact that the train had an extremely strange numbering of cars: I walked along the platform, and in the course of my movement, first there was car No. 5, then No. 6, then for some reason No. 7, then No. 8, and then 1 and 2 My 9th carriage ended up at the opposite end of the train.

And then I went inside and saw not at all what I expected to see: it was not the second class that I was used to, but a natural one - a "general" carriage, similar to an electric train, with hard seats - benches. However, unlike the train, there was an incredibly small distance between the seats. Apparently, the designers were counting on the transportation of midgets. But such savings made it possible to cram a maximum of passengers into the car: according to the numbers above the seats in this car, there were more than 100 seats! And on Friday evening this car was packed to capacity. When I realized that I accidentally bought tickets not for the second, but for the new, 3rd class, and I have to spend 4.5 hours in this space, I got a little sick :(

I huddled in my seat by the window and pulled out a book. A neighbor sitting tightly next to me warned me that it could blow strongly from the window while driving, and it was better not to take off my jacket. But he was wrong. From the window, of course, it blew a little, but it was garbage compared to how the benches heated up. Yes, they were heated benches. And with such not weak heating - the shop was right above the radiator, which was spitting at full power. It seems that for women it is not particularly harmful - to sit on the hot, but for men, everything began to "boil". Therefore, poor men periodically jumped up and tried to refresh themselves in the vestibule. In contrast to the "salon" it was really cold there and there was snow. About an hour later, my neighbor tried to ask the conductor to turn off the heating, to which the conductor said that they do not do this here. The neighbor eventually expressed his indignation by pressing the "Communicate with the driver" button, after which the heating was briefly turned off.

Here are a couple more photos of the 3rd grade. Check out the distance between the shops. I thought it was less than a meter.

For comparison - this is the 2nd class.

Legroom is enough.

And this is the first one. In my opinion, not much more convenient than the second. But pay attention to the rug in the aisle :) Design! In addition to the mat, first class is distinguished by the presence of tables, separate luggage racks and DVD screens that did not work on either the trip there or the trip back.

By the way, since I'm talking about the train. Previously, a buffet worked in one of the 1st class carriages. Now the buffet is closed, the train staff hang out in it. Instead of a buffet, an aunt walks around the car with a cart and offers sandwiches, tea for 25 rubles and beer for 95.

Toilets are not in every car, and they are made according to the "hole in the floor" principle. However, the toilet is clean and has toilet paper.

Arriving in Orel, I immediately ran to the ticket office to change the return ticket. At the box office they took a fine from me for returning an electronic ticket, but on the other hand, I drove like a white person.

According to the conductor, they got the 3rd grade in the last year.
And this is perhaps the most terrible thing in this story. After all, it's all really new, like modern. This means that Russian Railways believes that this is the level of comfort that passengers deserve.

Be careful not to accidentally buy a third-class ticket. If you drive an hour and a half to Kaluga, it is still, probably, tolerable, then 4.5 hours to Orel is a tin.
On the ticket, it is designated as 3C.

Our country runs trains with cars of varying degrees of comfort. The most popular among Russian Railways customers are reserved seats. For long trips, they are the best fit, as they are very inexpensive and quite comfortable. But for short distances it is better, of course, to travel in wagons with seats. They cost even less than a reserved seat. It is absolutely not necessary to sleep or lie down for several hours of travel in the daytime. The layout of the seats of the seated car of Russian Railways is quite simple and convenient for passengers.

Types and designations of wagons

The cost of seats on Russian Railways trains can vary significantly. At the moment, passengers in our country are transported by:

SV carriages. This is the most expensive and most comfortable type. The compartments of such cars can be double or quadruple.

Soft wagons. Designated with the letter M.

    Compartment (K).

Reserved seat (P). There are more seats in such cars than in the others, since the shelves are also located on the side of the aisle.

  • General (O). Such cars can also be called seated cars, since passengers in them are placed in threes on the lower shelves. Now there are practically no such cars in Russian Railways.

Actually, the seating cars themselves are equipped not with shelves, but with chairs. Such trains usually run within the same region. Therefore, their cars are designated as Obl (S). Sometimes the latter can also be hooked to long-distance trains. The scheme of the seated car of Russian Railways is almost identical for all classes.

Degree of comfort

The sitting car, as already mentioned, is currently the cheapest variety. Traveling in it is relatively comfortable. Such trains differ from electric trains in that almost every carriage has a toilet and a wardrobe. During the journey, as in conventional trains, drinks and food are delivered. Some trains of this type have buffets.

Traveling in a seated car can be somewhat more dangerous than traveling in a sleeper car. This is especially true for women and children. The fact is that people from the lower social strata of society (up to the homeless) often travel by such trains. they simply don’t have money for long distances, at least in the reserved seat. And so they prefer to move around the country either by electric trains, or just in such trains, changing from one to another. In addition, in trains of this type, judging by the feedback from passengers, it can be quite dusty and dirty.

Classes

The scheme of the Russian Railways seated car is simple, and from the inside it looks about the same as the interior of a very large tram. In small towns, trains of this type usually run, the seats in which are practically no different from the seats in electric trains. Trains with easy chairs usually depart from metro stations. Located on both sides of the aisle. Typically, trains of this type carry two types of cars - 1st and 2nd class. In the first seat is wider and more comfortable. On each side of the aisle of such a car there are two of them (or two on one side, one on the other). First class passengers in some cases can use a folding table (as in reserved seats and compartments). The scheme of the seated car of Russian Railways (1C) is presented below.

In the second class, there are three seats on each side of the aisle. Armchairs here go one after another along the entire length of the car. Tables are also available, but very small, individual. They recline from the backs located in front of the seats. Below is a diagram of a seated car 2C Russian Railways.

Sometimes there are also third-class seats on trains. These are the most uncomfortable seated cars of Russian Railways. Instead of chairs, they have benches located opposite each other and at a very close distance. The latter factor causes discomfort, especially for tall passengers. The distance between the shops facing each other is so small that people simply have nowhere to put their feet. The scheme of the seated car 3C Russian Railways clearly demonstrates its tightness.

Seat numbering

Tickets for seated cars, as well as for ordinary ones, are sold at the railway ticket offices of Russian Railways. The seat number must be indicated in the travel document. This is another difference between seated trains and electric trains. The numbering in cars of this type is the same as in ordinary ones. In the composition itself, they are most often 10-12.

In first class seated cars, there are usually 21-28 passenger seats. They are numbered at the back, in parallel rows. The scheme of the Russian Railways seated car shows this well. That is, the two most recent places on the right side are numbered 1 and 2, on the left - 3 and 4. Sometimes the order of designating seats in such cars is different. The numbering goes from the end sequentially on the right side, and continues on the left side. In the first class, no more than 7 rows of seats are usually installed.

The second class of compositions of this type is less convenient. The rows of seats here are usually already 8 or more, and there are at least 36 seats. Numbering is also carried out from the end and in rows. Third-class carriages can have up to 66 seats. Of course, this is a lot, and greatly affects the degree of comfort of the trip. The scheme of the seated car 3C Russian Railways is presented on the page above. Looking at it, one can be convinced of some inconvenience of a trip to such places.

Ticket price

The cost of a seat in the usual, not very low. For example, in 2015, as part of Moscow - St. Petersburg, the price for it is only 410 rubles. For comparison: a reserved seat will cost 780 rubles, a coupe - 1430, a luxury - 3390, a soft car - 10,610 rubles. Of course, the cost of a seat directly depends on the class. However, the difference in price in this case is usually not too big.

Conclusion

These are some of the amenities that Russian Railways provides to its passengers. The layout of the seats in the seated car is simple, you can find your own very quickly. As for the class, it is better, of course, to take a ticket to the first or second. Experienced clients of Russian railways advise traveling in the third car only as a last resort and for very short distances.
