The commissioning of the second runway in 1985 made it possible to carry out regular flights from Vladivostok to Moscow by Il-62 aircraft.

In 1992, Vladivostok airport became international.

Since 1994, OJSC VladivostokAvia was created, and in 1999 the international terminal was put into operation.

In 2006, the reconstruction of the airport terminal serving domestic flights was completed.

Since February 2008, OJSC Vladivostok International Airport was withdrawn from VladivostokAvia OJSC as a result of reorganization.

In 2009, the airport received a three and a half billion ruble loan to prepare for the APEC summit scheduled for 2012. In the same year, construction of a new air terminal began.
