The citywide cleanup event, which took place in the capital on April 29, was attended by 1.5 million people.

“Moscow has entered a series of May holidays, and Muscovites spent the first weekend eventfully and actively. The festive events started with a citywide cleanup day, in which 1.5 million people took part,” said Minister of Government, Head of the Department of Culture Alexander Kibovsky at a meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow Government.

All participants were provided with the necessary equipment (rakes, brooms, garbage bags, brushes, shovels, brushes and garden shears) and work clothes.

“In parks and squares there were interesting cleanup days that turned into real festivals,” said Alexander Kibovsky.
