Traveling to France with a child. Holidays with children in France. Disneyland Paris

Eiffel Tower

Many people dream of visiting France, and they especially want to take their children there. Traveling with children always comes with certain responsibilities. You need to think about the children’s meals, choose a hotel to stay in and draw up an action plan.

There are no problems with food in France. Most stores and supermarkets have a fairly wide selection of baby food, juices and various milk formulas. For kids you can find everything they need, from hygiene products to toys. Hotels can offer children croissants and freshly squeezed juice. And in restaurants you can always find dishes on the menu that are suitable for feeding children. In France they always accommodate the client and try to satisfy all wishes. In addition, discounts apply to baby food.

Baby food in France is varied

When choosing a hotel where you will stay with children, you should choose an area away from entertainment venues, clubs and cabarets; it is advisable to select a more prestigious area in order to avoid strikes or troubles in an area inhabited by disadvantaged people.

A good place to relax with children is the paradise coast, which stretches along Nice and the Principality of Monaco. The Cote d'Azur gives you gentle sun, velvet sea, golden sand and many new impressions. Monaco combines tradition, elegance and luxury, and Cannes is enveloped in the spirit of cinema, everything here breathes the atmosphere of famous films and movie stars. Since past times, Nice has been a vacation spot for representatives of the upper class of Russian society. All these resorts are interesting for both children and adults; moreover, they have modern entertainment that provides an opportunity to have fun.

On the Cote d'Azur Nice

The main attraction in France for children is Disneyland Paris, which is located in Marne-la-Vallee. Its territory consists of two large sectors, each of which requires its own ticket to visit. The first part is the heart of Disneyland. This is where the main entertainment, attractions and decorations are located. The territory consists of five zones, which have their own individual style and adventure. The second part of Disneyland is Walt Disney, where you can imagine yourself as a cartoon character in a fairy tale. Here you can ride on a huge steamship on a real lake and explore the whole wonderful country on a small train specially created for parents and children.

At Disneyland Paris

There is another amusement park in France dedicated to Asterix, which welcomes young travelers all year round. The park has a friendly atmosphere where you can meet your favorite movie characters. Visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions, a skating rink, and circus performances. There is a cafe on site where you can drink hot chocolate and mulled wine, and you can buy a toy your child likes in the souvenir shop as a souvenir of your visit to the park. The park consists of five thematic zones: “Gallic Village”, “Ancient Greece”, “Roman Empire”, “Medieval France” and a zone dedicated to the Vikings. In the Ancient Greece zone you can visit the Poseidon Theater dolphinarium.

20 km from Nice in Antibes is the famous Marineland water park. The main attraction of the park is a huge pool inhabited by menacing killer whales, predatory sharks, exotic colorful fish and phlegmatic jellyfish. There is a glass tunnel running under the pool, which gives the impression of walking along the seabed. The water park hosts performances with killer whales, dolphins, and fur seals.

Not far from Saint-Tropez there is Fréjus, a unique safari park. The park covers an area of 20 hectares, covered with Mediterranean plants. In the spacious enclosures of the park there are about 130 species of animals, birds and fish from all continents of the globe. Visitors can move around the park by car, stopping near lakes and enclosures.

It is also interesting to visit a magnificent park of exotic plants, such as the Phoenix Botanical Park, which is located in Nice. Here you can see amazing landscapes from different parts of our planet. In addition, children can have fun at the children's mini-attractions and playgrounds.

Monaco is home to the famous Oceanographic Museum, which was created by the great traveler and scientist Jacques-Yves Cousteau. This construction was initiated by Prince Albert the First. The museum's management created natural conditions for the animals to make them feel at home. There are 6,000 representatives of the deep sea here.

When you come to France with children, it is impossible not to visit the Doll Museum. In it you can see large and very small porcelain dolls, which were collected for a long time by collectors Sami and his father Guido. In the Museum you can observe the entire history of the creation of dolls, see the periods of change in toys, how clothes and facial features changed. The exhibition occupies seven halls, containing about two thousand dolls. The museum has a workshop where they can repair any toy or make a custom doll.

Children are of great interest in visiting the mechanical zoo. Huge mechanical animals are collected here, thanks to the daily work of those who design and assemble new robotic animals. The weight of just one elephant is about 48 tons. He shocks those around him when he starts moving.

Paris, je t'ame...

I hope you find this information about our trip to Paris with young children interesting and useful. I will try to highlight some important points regarding the infant. Our trip took place during spring break (March 23-29, 2009). There were five of us in total: two adults, 11-year-old twins and a 9-month-old baby. Important point! The baby is breastfed, and we provide complementary feeding according to the pedagogical scheme, i.e. We give what we eat ourselves and occasionally canned food (if there is no way to cook something).

Planning. The main task was to take teenage children on vacation (Disneyland and other delights and entertainment). We had doubts about the trip for the youngest member of the family, but we decided that 9 months was the right age. The child is an infant, and so far all problems are solved with the help of “titi”; is already sitting, but not walking yet; Besides, our baby is quite adequate in life.

We planned the trip entirely on our own: tickets, visas, hotel reservations, insurance. We took a minimum of things with us, focusing on the weather forecast. In fact, the weather turned out to be even better. We decided that we were going to a civilized country, and if something happened, everything could be bought on the spot. We remember that in Paris many shops are not open on weekends, and there is also a problem with 24-hour shops. The only thing I took in reserve was diapers (very useful, as it turned out later) and some canned food with me. I put in an antipyretic, smecta, lactofiltrum, activated carbon, d-panthenol, no-shpu, and a thermometer. We decided to buy the stroller on the spot, because... We didn’t have a summer walking option at that time. Previously, I found information about children's stores in Paris. We took with us an irreplaceable backpack and sling. I found useful information for Russians with children in Paris. Including information about shops, food, and where to go for help, etc.

Visa. Visa formalities were resolved very simply and quickly. There is a consulate in Yekaterinburg France. We submitted the documents, and after 2 days we were able to see the result on the website. We were given visas without any problems.

Tickets and flights. Air tickets were purchased in the usual way, through the ticket office in Yekaterinburg. Since there are direct flights from the capital Ural no to Paris, we considered options with transfers in Kaliningrad, Helsinki and Prague. Moscow and St. Petersburg were not taken into account due to the unrealistic high cost. We live in an interesting country after all. So, the most economical and convenient from the point of view of spending a minimum of time at the transfer airport turned out to be the Ekaterinburg-Kaliningrad-Paris option, flying with Kaliningrad Airlines. The price for tickets was about 70 thousand rubles. on everyone in both directions.

But then trouble happened with KGavia. The company had financial difficulties and they were (seemingly) declared bankrupt, but the local government supported the carrier. Or something like that, that’s not the point. The flight took place. But! There, to Kaliningrad, two flights were combined - Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg (those who flew to Paris from Chelyabinsk were unlucky, they had two stops - in Yekaterinburg and Kaliningrad, respectively). And back, in Kaliningrad, Ekaterinburg and Ufa were united, i.e. We were unlucky, we had an additional stop in Ufa. On an overnight flight with children, this, to put it mildly, drove me a little crazy. Chelyabinsk, by the way, was also united on the way back, this time with Samara. In short, if you want to save yourself some hassle, fly with foreign airlines. The flight through Prague was 15-20 thousand more expensive. Through Helsinki a little less, but there were longer stops. I recommend planning your flights via Amadeus.

Regarding amenities for passengers with small children in the transfer hall of Kaliningrad airport, I will say one thing - there are none. No mother and baby room, no napkins in the toilet. These are the details. We are familiar with Russian reality and were well prepared for all occasions.

The baby endured the flight well, slept, and was practically not capricious. She looked around a lot and actively tried to interact with everyone around her: she would smile, or reach out with her hand. Of course, there was a lot hanging on my chest. This was especially helpful during takeoff and landing, when my ears were blocked. Titya gave it - and go ahead, no problems.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and decided not to take a taxi, but to get to the hotel on our own. We got lost a little around the airport looking for the exit to the RER, but everything was decided when we went to the Information Desk (the staff speaks English). In general, it seemed to me that there are many more English-speaking people in Paris (compared to 2002). I will not dwell on Parisian transport in detail; below there will be useful links on this topic.

Weather It was super: neither hot nor cold, sometimes rain, but not for long. The only thing is that it is quite windy. The average temperature is difficult to estimate because... it was quite hot in the sun, especially on the last day of our trip it was already quite warm.

Hotel. Hotel Appart Valley Paris - Gare Austerlitz was booked through www.booking.com. The main criteria when choosing a place to stay were the following: 3-4 stars, apartments with at least 2 rooms with a kitchen, close to the metro, a park and not very far from the center. A confirmation was sent from booking.com, I called the hotel myself again to clarify everything (they did not respond to emails). But there was still an overlap. The fact is that in some hotels the reception is open only during strictly designated hours. For example, as in our case, from 8 to 11 and from 16 to 19, and on Sunday only from 8 to 11. We just arrived on Sunday afternoon. There was no information on the booking website about the specifics of the hotel's operation on Sunday. And the hotel itself did not warn us that no one would be there, although I called in advance and confirmed the dates and time of arrival. So we found ourselves at the locked door of the hotel. After listening to the information on the answering machine, we didn’t understand anything, although we more or less speak French and English. Apparently they were so distracted from the road that they were a little slow to think. Malaya has already started subscribing. In short, we just needed a code for the intercom, which we were not told (although the manager later assured me that she had sent an email with the code).

Without thinking twice, we found in the guidebook the address of the nearest hotel in the area (next to the Austerlitz train station) and checked into Saint-Charles. We took two double rooms, the owner gave us a discount. Everything was friendly, clean and, looking ahead, in the morning we received an excellent buffet breakfast (for a fee, as in many hotels in Paris). There are small streets and quiet cafes around. On the evening of the first day, we celebrated our arrival with a soulful dinner with huge portions of salads and wine. The children are happy, the baby was sleeping.

I was most worried about the time difference, after all, 4 hours from Yekaterinburg. But the child somehow adapted immediately, and there were no problems. In general, the little one slept a lot.

On the second day I woke up to the sound of birds singing outside the window. Oh Paris!

I liked the hotel, but we decided to move to the apartments we had previously booked, as we had planned right away. As a result, they lived next to a botanical garden, a zoo and the Natural History Museum. The museum is not very cozy, there are a lot of bones, but it is the place for paleontology lovers. The garden is very cool and beautiful. Everything was already blooming.

On the second day we walked a lot. We walked along the Seine, visited Notre Dame, bought a stroller, traveled around a lot and finally came to the Eiffel Tower. The wind was very strong that day, it just blew away. I still thought that I should not climb the tower and go home with the baby. But she stayed. And, apparently, she was a little winded or her body simply turned on some kind of protective reaction to the stress of the flight and change of scenery. In short, on the third day she gave me a temperature of 38. We didn’t panic, we just stayed at home. My husband and older children went to Disneyland. My youngest and I weren’t going there anyway. I didn’t give her any medicine; apart from the temperature, there was no snot or cough. Normal child. They just drank a lot and slept. We even walked for a bit. And the next day everything was fine, the temperature dropped, and we went for a walk in the evening. And until the end of the trip there were no more incidents. Every morning we bought fresh croissants, desserts, cheese around the corner and prepared breakfast. During the day we wandered around Paris, enjoying the food, architecture, atmosphere and beauty. I really liked the Orsay Museum, we love Montmartre warmly and strongly, Notre Dame is graceful and majestic, the Champs Elysees are solemn, the parks, the Seine, streets, markets, cafes... Personally, I am crazy about Paris, I like everything there. Older children are delighted with Disneyland and the City of Science and Industry (Cite des Sciences & de l’Industrie). We also wanted to go to Parc Asterix, but it opens in April.

Baby food and diapers. As I already mentioned, our baby is breastfed, plus we feed him what we eat ourselves. Since it is difficult to eat regularly when traveling, you need to stock up on canned food. I took very little with me from home, only for a one-way flight (“Granny’s Basket”). Therefore, on the spot we were immediately puzzled by the issue of baby food. First of all, we fell in love with Danone baby milk. But it didn’t work out for us with jarred purees. We didn’t like the taste, we bought another brand at the pharmacy, I don’t remember the name, some kind of vegetable puree - it immediately poured out. And we tried one more thing, a brand name that was unexpected for Russian pronunciation - Bledina. Sold in a regular store. Fruit flavors are good, but you are allergic to vegetable ones. We didn’t try anything else from the can, we fed him regular food.

For some reason, a problem suddenly arose with diapers weighing 9 kg and above. They simply weren't there. It’s good that I took a spare with me from home, so it lasted almost until the end of my stay in Paris. And then they bought local ones - not very successful, however, they leaked. It’s strange that we didn’t come across Fixis, which is supposed to be a French brand. But perhaps we weren't looking well. They just took what they came across.

Moving in a wheelchair and attitude towards children. It is very convenient to walk with a stroller; the sidewalks are, as they say, “adapted”. No problem if you need to take your stroller to a store or cafe. There are also no difficulties in museums; there are elevators. But in the metro it’s problematic, it’s not provided. It's easier on the RER, there are elevators.

It is worth mentioning separately about the attitude of the French towards children. I never expected this. One gets the feeling that for them the baby is the most important person, the center of the Universe. Everywhere we were, in any public place (cafe, museum, airport) the baby was given special attention. And this was not annoying at all, since it looked very sincere and natural when, for example, the cafe manager came up, greeted the child, smiled, lulled, and played. Or if suddenly the child burst into tears, then a funny French uncle would always come up and try to make the child laugh. In a word, active communication and participation. Almost every establishment we visited had changing tables in the restrooms.

There is a lot of information on the Internet about the sights and features of transport. We mainly used the following sources.

France is a charming country that mysteriously attracts both children and adults. Did you choose her for your summer vacation in the company of your children? Find out everything about a seaside holiday in France with children in 2019 - where is the best place to go, how to plan a trip and entertain the whole family.

To make your children’s vacation the most unforgettable, we recommend going to the sea through Disneyland Paris. There is probably not a single child in the world who would not dream of visiting this wonderful and fabulous park, where they have the opportunity to meet their favorite characters and visit attractions that are not found anywhere else.

In addition, you can taste the most delicious sweets; once you try them, you will remember them all your life. The most interesting thing is that it will not be possible to find analogues for such delicacies, since many try to create masterpieces, reproduce the cuisine and traditions of France, but this should not be compared with the true delicacies of one of the most romantic countries in the world.

However, after Paris comes the sea. The first step to arranging a vacation has been taken - identifying the country. But the next step will make you think about other equally important details. There are many beaches in France and each of them beckons. The country is washed in the north by the Atlantic Ocean, and on the south by the Mediterranean Sea.

Interesting fact: the native French prefer swimming in the waters of the Atlantic; moreover, they claim that the water there is cleaner and cooler. Tourists, in turn, more often choose the Cote d'Azur of the Mediterranean Sea.

All the resorts that exist in France are wonderful, but you need to clearly define for yourself the purpose of the trip: shopping trips to boutiques and visits to world festivals, or a measured family vacation without pretentious parties and with many attractions for the whole family.

France on the map:

Another determining factor when choosing a resort for a holiday with children is the beaches themselves, many of them are pebbly, and for children this is not the most convenient option. In addition, if they are quite small, this will be a determining factor, since the safety and comfort of children is paramount, and on pebble beaches it will be difficult for children to move even in special shoes.

Here's a quick look at family-friendly French resorts.

Some French resorts: features

Juan-les-Pins

For a family holiday, it is usually recommended to choose the resort of Juan-les-Pins, where everything is provided for entertainment with children. Many water and amusement parks, a special sailing school, a tennis center - and this is not all the delights of the resort.

How to get there?

First you need to fly to Nice, where the international airport is located. The cost of a one-way flight in the summer of 2019 will be approximately 13 thousand rubles per person.

Juan-les-Pins is located just 30 kilometers from Nice. You can get to the resort by special express train, by regular bus, by train or taxi. The trip will last approximately an hour and a half, depending on the type of transport.

Where to stay?

In Juan-les-Pins there are mainly two- and three-star establishments, however, it cannot be said that they have very low prices. A family of three can stay in a two-star hotel on the first coastline in a fairly simple but comfortable room for about 7 thousand rubles per day. A three-star hotel with better furnishings and equipment will cost such a family approximately 12 thousand rubles per day. Finally, there are luxury options like a four-star hotel near the beach and pine forest, with a hot tub, swimming pool and quality food - for 17 thousand per night for three.

Juan-les-Pins began to develop as a resort at the end of the 19th century. Currently, it is quite a popular place for young people, bohemians, but also families with children. The beach here is one of the longest in the country, it stretches for 25 kilometers. Juan-les-Pins is rich in many separate cozy coves, soft sand, clear sea waters, and a fairly gentle entrance to the water. The resort has both a free beach (which is clean, but there are no umbrellas and sun loungers) and hotel beaches where all the necessary infrastructure is provided.

In addition to a beach holiday, families with children should definitely go to one of the local entertainment venues. Thus, the resort houses the Marineland aquarium, where dolphins, killer whales, and sharks await visitors.

In the Aqua Splash water park, covering an area of 20 thousand square meters, small and adult tourists can enjoy water activities for every taste.

It is also worth visiting Le Petite Ferme - a park stylized as a farm, where you can enjoy communication with kind and affectionate domestic animals.

Adults themselves can relax here. You can go to the promenade to visit local shops and buy a souvenir to remember your vacation:

  • French perfume;
  • wines and cheeses;
  • a trinket in the shape of the cicadas that chirp around the resort during the high season;
  • Provencal herbs;
  • souvenirs on a marine theme.

In addition to leisurely walks, you can plan an active holiday at the resort: sports such as water skiing, jet skiing and catamaran riding, windsurfing, and yachting are developed here. And if you want to relax your soul, go here in July, because during this period you can visit the International Jazz Festival.

Local cafes and restaurants offer mainly French cuisine with an emphasis on seafood. So, while relaxing on the Cote d'Azur, you should definitely take bouillabaisse soup - from three or more varieties of fish and seafood. Popular snacks include bread with anchovy or cod puree. Dinner for two in Juan-les-Pins will cost about 30-60 euros.

You will have to go on an excursion to see the sights. Thus, you can visit the island of Saint-Honorat, where there is a monastery founded in the 5th century, as well as vineyards where you can buy the monastery’s signature wine. The island of Sainte-Marguerite is famous mainly for Fort Royal, which now houses an interesting Maritime Museum (the collection consists of finds from sunken ships).

Antibes

A very popular resort on the Cote d'Azur, located on Cape Garoupe. Previously it was a port town, and now it is a yacht port, a quite cozy city and at the same time full of entertainment.

How to get there?

The resort is located 30 kilometers from Nice. Every hour, trains depart from the station to Antibes; the journey time will be no more than half an hour, the fare will be approximately 5 euros. In an hour's journey and 1.5 euros, you can also get there by bus. Finally, there is a direct express from Nice Airport (40 minutes and 11 euros).

Where to stay?

A lot of tourists flock to this resort town, rich in attractions, so accommodation here is unlikely to be possible at all. A room for three in the simplest establishment will cost about 5.5 thousand rubles per day (and it will be a hostel). An apartment with a rooftop pool and very comfortable rooms will cost a family of three approximately 9.5 thousand rubles per day. A stunning four-star establishment with its own beach, spa, fitness center and restaurants will cost about 21 thousand rubles per day for three.

What to see and do?

The beaches at the resort have both pebble and sand, so you can find a place to suit every taste. There are both free and private beaches, the largest of which is La Salis, which is located on Cape Antibes. The mostly sandy coasts of the resort have a gentle entrance to the sea, many of them are landscaped.

Antibes is a city with a rich history, as a result of which the first thing after you have some rest at sea is to go and see the local attractions. So, you should visit Grimaldi Castle, built back in the 12th century. It was once the residence of a bishop, and in the 20th century it became the Picasso Museum. Therefore, now in the building you can combine viewing medieval beauties and paintings by artists of the last century.

Another interesting building is Fort Carre. It was built in the 16th century and was noted in history for the fact that Napoleon was once imprisoned there. And in another fortification, the Bastion of Saint-André, there is now an interesting Museum of History and Archeology, where you can learn everything about Antibes.

Russian tourists will be interested in visiting the chapel of Notre-Dame de Garoupe, which is located near the lighthouse: the temple contains shrines taken from our country as a result of the Crimean War.

Do you love nature? Visit the botanical garden of Villa Thuret. This piece of paradise was created in the 19th century and contains more than 1.5 thousand species of a wide variety of plants, including a stunning rose garden and a tropical sector.

For shopping, you should go to Rue de la République. In Antibes you can indulge in luxurious shopping in the French way, because there are boutiques and stores of famous European brands, including the most elite ones, perfume and cosmetics salons, and grocery stores.

In Antibes there are more than 400 catering establishments for a wide variety of tastes: these include Michelin-starred restaurants, democratic places, and even fast food. You can have lunch in Antibes for about 17-70 euros for two.

Antibes is located very close to Juan-les-Pins, and therefore families with children have access to the same entertainment as listed above. You can also head to Menton - an hour's drive away - and visit the Koaland amusement park with many attractions: trampolines, mini-train, mini-golf, go-karts and others.

Saint Tropez

It is one of the most prestigious resorts on the French Riviera. It is not for nothing that the peninsula, which is surrounded by pine groves, has become the site of the construction of villas of famous people from all over the world.

How to get there?

The resort is located approximately 100 kilometers from Nice. There is no direct train connection, but you can take a train to the city of Saint-Raphael (17 euros, train departs every hour), and in Saint-Raphael take a bus (3 euros, runs every two hours). This will be the best option if you do not want to spend money on a taxi or rent a car.

Where to stay?

Saint-Tropez is a truly luxurious resort, and therefore the prices for accommodation here are appropriate.

Inexpensive apartments by the standards of this place will cost a family of three 12 thousand rubles per day. A four-star hotel will cost about 17 thousand rubles per night for three tourists. Finally, you can rent a villa overlooking the sea, which will also have its own swimming pool - for three people “only” 35 thousand rubles per day.

What to see and do?

The beaches in Saint-Tropez are sandy, which is perfect for families with children. Oddly enough, the resort has both free and paid beaches. Renting an umbrella and sun lounger will cost approximately 20 euros per day. Here are some popular beaches in Saint-Tropez:

  1. Plage de Pampelonne. The longest of all. Lovers of nightclubs located on the shore will like it.
  2. Plages des Graniers. The sand and pebble beach, which is located in a cozy cove, will be appreciated by lovers of solitude.

Holidays in France with children will not cause much difficulty if you prepare and plan everything in advance. This rule must also be followed when adults travel. But even if they can withstand some inconveniences, quickly change the route or come to terms with dietary habits, then a trip to France with a child should be spared from various surprises. Let's look at some of the features that accompany such a trip to the north of this European country, to Brittany.

The first thing you need to decide on when considering various tours to France with children is the method of moving. Traveling by train, bus or your own car can be quite tiring. For example, passenger transport is capable of covering the distance from Moscow to Paris (2,900 kilometers) in about 30 hours. Taking into account overnight stops and rest, this route can take about two days. By using an airplane, this time can be reduced to four hours, which will be less tiring. However, even in this case, you should worry about what to do with your child during the flight. All holidays in France with children should take into account their interests, so interesting activities, games and entertainment should be provided.

To finish talking about transport, it should be noted that it is best to rent a car for further trips after arrival right at the airport, and not to be mistaken with its capacity, taking into account not only passengers, but also luggage. We also emphasize that traveling to France with a child in July-August, when the holiday period is in full swing, can cause additional difficulties. At this time, all the country's roads are overloaded with a huge number of travelers, and access to various attractions and places of entertainment will be somewhat limited for the same reason.

In Brittany you can stay not only in a classic hotel, but also in a house of appropriate size. Let's list what you might need on such a trip: toys for children, medical insurance, a special excursion program. In addition to the famous Asterix and EuroDisney, an aquarium, a zoo and a local amusement park are worth visiting in this region. Tours to France with children do not pose any difficulties if they are well planned. In this civilized country, you can spend such a vacation without unnecessary fears associated with the peculiarities of the cuisine or the insufficient qualifications of various service personnel.
