In 2017, a large-scale reconstruction of the blue line of the M3 metro began. From November '17 to March '19, the stations between Lehel tér and Újpest-Központ were closed. From April 6, 2019, the section between Köbánya-Kispest and Nagyvárad tér stations was closed for reconstruction. Direct bus to the airport 100E

Since July 8, 2017, the airport and the center of Budapest have been connected by another bus route - 100E. It departs from Deák Ferenc tér (the very center of the city) daily from 3:40 am, meaning you can easily take this bus if you are flying to Moscow on a morning WizzAir flight. Departure frequency: every 20 minutes.

The last flight to the airport departs from the center of Budapest at 00:40. Bus 100E makes almost no stops (there will be only two in front of the airport, both in the center - Kálvin tér and Astoria). The bus also runs back and forth from the airport to the center of Budapest. The fare is 900 forints (3 euros).

Note! The 100E bus is not valid for Budapest public transport passes. To travel there you need to buy a special ticket, which, I repeat, costs 900 forints. It is also sold at the airport counter and at all ticket machines in the city.

Group transfer from Budapest airport to hotel

For those who do not want to deal with public transport, but do not have the means to take a taxi, I can offer a minibus from miniBUD. A taxi or private transfer is the easiest and most comfortable way to get from Budapest Airport to the city and back. In the Hungarian capital, it is not customary to hail a taxi on the street. They are usually called if you are coming from the hotel or come to the taxi stand if you are coming from the airport.

There are always plenty of cars here, so you won’t have to wait long. But also be prepared to pay top dollar. Taxi ride from the airport to Budapest will cost you at least 8,000 forints (about 28 euros), but most likely the amount will be higher. It makes sense to order a taxi if you are coming with a group of 3-4 people (for example, two couples).

Bus No. 100E runs from 05:00 to 00:30 from the airport to Deák Ferenc Square, making only two stops along the way: Kálvin tér M and Astoria M. The so-called shuttle bus will take you to the center in just 35 minutes.

Note! For bus 100E you need to purchase a special ticket that costs 900HUF. Other tickets on this route are not valid!

Bus No. 200E runs from 4:00 to 23:00 between Terminal 2 and Kőbánya-Kispest metro station (metro line M3), via Ferihegy train station (trains to Nyugati stations in Budapest). Those. You will have to get to the center with transfers.

Bus 200E runs between the airport and the final metro station Kobanya-Kispest(metro line M3) every 10 minutes until 23:00. After 23:00 the bus goes a little further to the metro station Hatar ut. This was done due to the fact that the metro closes at midnight and the evening route 200E is extended deeper into the city. During the day, the route can be continued by metro, and at night you need to transfer to night buses 914, 914A, 950 and 950A. These buses will take you to the center from the metro station Hatar ut or vice versa.

Tickets for 200E can be purchased at the airport at the VKK kiosk, from vending machines and from the bus driver, but are slightly more expensive. The ticket price is 350 HUF and the driver is 450 HUF. If your route to/from the airport involves a transfer, then it is better to take a ticket with one transfer for 530 HUF (1.7 €).

By train to Budapest Airport

It is not the best option to go to the airport by train. After all, the train goes to a station near the closed Terminal 1. Then you will have to transfer to bus 200E to Terminal 2.
