The apogee of reconciliation between Russia and Turkey was first Turkish festival 2017 in Moscow, which will last from June 16 to 18 and will be held in the Krasnaya Presnya park.

An event of grand scale! Guests will find a luxurious atmosphere of an oriental fairy tale. The most popular Turkish attractions will be represented by three-dimensional scenery - Cappadocia, Bosphorus Bridge, Grand Bazaar, Topkani Palace, Hadrian's Gate and much more. The original presentation of the rich history of this country and its national traditions will be remembered even by those who are not interested in history. And there is something to talk about, because each individual region of Turkey is a unique world with its own foundations. It is interesting to learn and see clearly how they live in Istanbul, Kemer, Alanya, Antalya, Side, Bodrum, Manavgat. The performances will be colorful, rich, bright, noisy - like Turkey itself as a whole.

During the official part that opens the festival, you can see live officials of the two states: representatives of the Moscow government, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, the head of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey in Moscow. The exchange of diplomatic pleasantries will be replaced by a festive program, which will unfold at several sites in the park.

All days on the stage of the festival pop idols of two countries will appear: Mitya Fomin, Mark Tishman, Loya, Dominic Joker, Turkish State Folk Dance Ensemble, rapper Kravets, singer Maxim, Alexander Elovskikh and others. Spectators will witness a unique musical experiment - a classical orchestra and virtuosos of Turkish rhythms will perform works by Tchaikovsky and Mozart. The festival's musical program will also feature the popular Turkish group Turkish Pop Ensamble, whose drum kit is masterfully controlled by the son of the famous percussionist Hamdi Akatay, Memduh Akatay. And the father himself will appear on stage as a special guest.

Fans of the Turkish series “The Magnificent Century” should definitely look into one of the pavilions, which is stylized as Topkapi Palace. Here they will see the chic outfits of Hurrem Sultan, Sultan Suleiman, Shehzade Mustafa, Mahidevran Sultan, as well as antique clothes from the times of the Ottoman Empire. The fashion show of Ottoman outfits can also be seen on the Istanbul stage.

One of the sites for all days of the festival will turn into a real Grand Bazaar, which is so popular among our tourists visiting Turkey. But during these 3 days, everything that the bazaar is rich in can be purchased in the Krasnaya Presnya park. And this is: magnificent handmade ceramics, delicious oriental sweets, household utensils with Turkish motifs, aromatic spices, high-quality beautiful textiles, souvenirs and much more.

One of the corners of the park will turn into a Crafts Village, which will house a variety of artistic workshops: ceramic painting, embru water painting, felt making, braiding and mehendi (henna body painting), amulets, costume jewelry and leather goods, calligraphy and stained glass making, making sand coffee and Turkish sweets, embroidery and making children's toys, as well as glass blowing and potter workshops. And guests of the village can see all these interesting processes with their own eyes and participate in them.

The festival area is so large, and the program is so rich and interesting, that if you arrive at Krasnaya Presnya Park one day, you will not want to leave it until the end of the day. This means you will inevitably feel hungry. But the Turkey Festival in Moscow will not allow him to torment you for long. Turkey will appear before visitors in the form of art objects: the theater of ancient Aspendos will rise from the sand, hot air balloons will allow you to appreciate the uniqueness of Cappadocia, in addition, guests will see Hadrian’s Gate, the Trojan Horse, the Temple of Apollo and the columns of Perge.

The mega-quest will help festival guests get to know Turkey better; its participants will visit almost all festival venues. Prizes await the winners: the organizers have prepared 100 trips to the best hotels in Turkey.

Drawing on water and Turkish language school

The educational program of the festival included numerous master classes. Everyone will be taught how to make bracelets with amulets and introduced to the art of drawing on water - ebru. Guests can paint plates, make olive soap, and try their hand at pottery. At the "Village of Crafts" site Visitors will be able to watch glass blowers, potters and leather workers at work. Here you will also be able to learn how to paint ceramics, traditional toys, make stained glass and embroidery.

The wrestling matches at the Kemer region promise to be truly spectacular. Güresh, or oil wrestling, is one of the oldest sports. It is already more than 630 years old, but it still attracts both athletes and fans, second only to football in popularity.
