How to get to Phu Quoc from Moscow and other cities in Vietnam? To get to Phu Quoc from Russia, you must first fly to Ho Chi Minh City. And then you can get there in two ways - plane or bus + ferry. The fastest and most comfortable way is to fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc with Vietjet Air in just 1 hour.

How to get to Fukuoka from Moscow? Very simple! Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to Vietjet to Phu Quoc

So, to get to Phu Quoc Island from Moscow, you first need to fly to Vietnam. Most travelers fly direct from Aeroflot to Ho Chi Minh City. Then at the same airport you make a transfer to a local airline flight to the island. If you're lucky, you can catch Vietnam Airlines tickets; they are cheaper and you won't need to collect luggage at the connection. Flights buy on Avisales.

See also flights Moscow - Phu Quoc with a transfer in Hanoi. The flight from Hanoi is a little longer - 2 hours. Flying via Hanoi can sometimes be cheaper. Or there may be tickets only through the capital, when the transfer in Saigon is already sold out. In any case, an hour more, an hour less, there is not much difference.

Also, many tourists often fly to Phu Quoc through China with one or two transfers in Guangzhou and Beijing with China Southern or Air China. Such air tickets usually cost a little cheaper; you can save 5-7 thousand rubles from each ticket. But the travel time increases to 20-25 hours. You can buy flights from Moscow to Fukuoka with a transfer in China here.

By the way, when flying through China, you will be issued a Vietnamese visa for 30 days, and not 15, as in all other airports. This rule only applies to direct international flights. As I understand it, if you fly through Saigon or Hanoi, upon arrival you will be given the usual Vietnamese 15-day stamp. You cannot obtain a 30-day stamp at land border crossings.

It is better to buy Moscow-Phu Quoc air tickets directly to the island, and not separately. Since in this case, if the flight from Moscow to Ho Chi Minh City is delayed and you do not catch the plane to Phu Quoc, then you will be put on the next flight at the expense of the airline. And if you buy separately, the Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc tickets will be lost.

Visa to Vietnam for Russians

If you are flying on vacation to Vietnam for up to 15 days, you do not need a visa. If you want to stay longer, then get a visa on arrival for 1 or 3 months. Read more about visas in the article -. You can also get a visa at the Vietnamese embassy in Russia or in any other country. The only documents you need are a passport and 1 photo. For example, in 2016, we traveled by land and obtained a single-entry tourist visa for 3 months at the Vietnamese consulate in Cambodia for $55. A visa on arrival costs less, from 20 to 30 dollars, but you can only get it at the airport of Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or Hanoi.

Important! If you plan to travel from Vietnam to Cambodia or some other country, be sure to get a multiple-entry visa (multivisa). Since they will not be allowed back into Vietnam with a 15-day stamp, because according to the new rules, at least 30 days must pass between visits to the country.

How to get to the hotel from the airport

Upon arrival on the island, take a taxi from Phu Quoc International Airport to the hotel. Official taxis stand at the exit of the building. According to the meter, you can get to Long Beach for about 5-7 dollars (100-150 thousand dong), give or take. The price depends on the location of the hotel, the further from the airport, the more expensive. I also heard about minibuses for $2 (45 thousand VND) that pick up people and take them to hotels. But even if there is no minibus, a taxi is quite accessible to everyone.

Where to stay

Based on personal experience, we recommend choosing hotels in Long Beach. The best part of the beach is between Duong Dong town and the airport. This is the most developed area, there are restaurants and shops. We do not recommend settling in the city, there is nothing interesting there and, most importantly, there is no beach in the city. In remote areas, including Bai Sao Beach, there is no infrastructure other than a hotel. So think carefully about where to stay on the island.

Vietjet Airlines tickets usually cost no more than $30-40 per person, which is almost comparable in cost to bus and ferry. Only in terms of time it turns out much faster. Buy tickets at Aviasails.

When purchasing Vietjet flights, please note that meals and luggage are not included in the ticket price. Meals are not necessary on a short flight, but if you are carrying luggage, do not uncheck the box.

A mini-life hack that will help you save a couple of dollars - at the baggage check-in stage, set the weight to 15 kg (the default value is 20 kg). This will slightly reduce the cost of air tickets, but only if your bags weigh no more than 15 kg. If there is only one suitcase, then remove the paid luggage from the second passenger.

Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc. Bus + ferry

From Ho Chi Minh City you can get to Phu Quoc by boat. More precisely, first 5-7 hours by bus by land to the city of Ha Tien, and then 1.5 hours by high-speed ferry Superdong. This route can take a whole day.

If you choose this option, then after the flight you will need to stay in Ho Chi Minh City for at least one night in order to buy a combined bus + ferry ticket in the evening, and leave early in the morning to catch the ship, which leaves until 14:00. But it's better to stay a couple of days to see Ho Chi Minh City.

A taxi from the airport to the tourist quarter costs about 150 thousand VND according to the meter. You can order a transfer to the hotel via this link. There is also a budget option to get to the center by bus 152.

Ferry to Phu Quoc

Ferries depart from the cities of Rach Gia and Ha Tien. According to reviews, it is better to go from Ha Tien. From there, besides, ferries are cheaper. We ourselves took a boat from Ha Tien when we were traveling to Phu Quoc from Cambodia. Tickets cost 230 thousand dong ($10), and from Rach Gia 350 thousand.

You can buy bus and ferry tickets from travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City. Many agencies organize a composite transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc. You can also buy a ticket at the ticket office at the pier. It seems to me that there is no point in ordering in advance. There are several ferries per day. See the current ferry schedule on the official website of the Superdong carrier company - superdong.com.vn/en/dich-vu/

Travel time by ship is approximately one and a half hours. Be sure to take a warm jacket and socks to the salon, as it will be cold. All passengers are given a free bottle of water and a wet wipe. All the way, Vietnamese music shows are shown on TV. You can go out to breathe/smoke on the deck.

How to get to the hotel from the pier in Fukuoka

Taxi drivers and minibus drivers will meet you at the pier. A taxi from the Long Beach pier costs $10, fixed price. You can get there by minibus for $2 per person (45 thousand dong). We traveled from the pier to Duong Dong town by minibus. The cabin was filled and we drove off, as if on a minibus. Everyone was taken to hotels without any hassles.

Where to stay

Most travelers stop at Long Beach. We also recommend that area. If you look at the map, look for hotels between Duong Dong city and the airport. Don’t settle in the city itself, there’s nothing to do there and it’s far from the sea. Read more about housing on the island in the article -.

Bus and plane

Another good option is to take a night sleeper bus to Ho Chi Minh City and then fly to the island. Such a trip will cost several times less than flying the entire way. Night on the road, at 5-6 am you are in Ho Chi Minh City, then take a taxi straight to the airport and then fly to the island on a morning flight with Vietjet, Jetstar or Vietnam Airlines. Thus, without spending the night in Ho Chi Minh City, you will reach the island in one night and morning.

  • You can buy bus tickets from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City at travel agencies in Nha Trang or on the 12GO website
  • You can buy airline tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc on the Aviasales website

Bus + bus + ferry

An option for the most resilient travelers. Since after a night in a sleeper, you still have to travel 5 hours in a regular bus. For more information about the Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc route, see above. Also, on this route, I don’t know for sure whether it will be possible to go straight to Ha Tien early in the morning or whether I will have to stop overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

How to get to Phu Quoc from Cambodia

In order not to repeat myself, I will briefly tell you how best to get there. Just buy a composite ticket (transfer) from a travel agency. For example, from Sihanoukville such a minibus + ferry transfer cost us $22 per person. You can get there from Phnom Penh using the same route. From Siem Reap it is better to get first to Phnom Penh, Kep or Sihanoukville.

There is also the option to fly with a transfer in Saigon. Link to flights

Bottom line

Getting to Fukuoka from Moscow is not as difficult as it might seem. The main thing is to catch and buy tickets from Moscow to Phu Quoc at a good price. Ideally, take one transfer in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi with a connection time of 2-4 hours. Flights through China are most often a little cheaper, however, they take longer and require two transfers.

An alternative to flying is to take a bus to the city of Ha Tien, and then take a ship to Phu Quoc Island. We advise you to immediately buy a combined ticket from travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City for a bus + ferry, so that you don’t have to worry about where to go from the bus station to Ha Tien.

It’s also not difficult to get there from Cambodia. Just take the transfer. Prices in Sihanoukville vary from office to office, but on average a transfer costs $25.

Plane to Phu Quoc

In 2015, an international airport (Phu Quoc International Airport) opened in Phu Quoc. In addition to local flights, the island began to accept international flights, and the tourism industry received a fresh impetus. Every day up to 5,000 tourists from Russia, China, and European countries fly to the island.

But as mentioned earlier, there is no direct regular connection between the island and Russia, and you have to fly with transfers. Currently, Phu Quoc Airport receives up to ten flights daily from Ho Chi Minh City, one flight from the capital Hanoi, as well as several flights from Thailand and China, plus charters.

Vietnam Airlines is the national carrier, ticket prices are higher, but the quality of service is decent.

Flight prices start from 500,000 VND ($25) depending on the company, time and season. Sometimes you can fly with a promotion for 10-15 dollars, but such tickets need to be caught, most often it is a non-refundable ticket, as happens with low-cost airlines - in order to change the date or passenger details you have to pay more than the cost of the ticket. When you look for tickets in a search engine, add 200 - 300 thousand dong, this is the commission that companies charge for paying with a plastic card and tax (90,000 dong for a one-way ticket).

You can fly to Phu Quoc by direct flight from the country's capital, Hanoi. Travel time is 3.5 hours.

This is a rather long and tiring journey to the island, but if the spirit of adventure is not alien to you, and you want to experience all the emotions of the road and see South Vietnam, then this is definitely your option. Remember that the savings in price are not large, and the costs of food and transfer will eat up this small benefit.

To Phu Quoc by bus

To get to Phu Quoc by ferry, you need to get to the city of Ha Tien (Hà Tiên). There are ferry and speedboat services from Ha Tien. You can get to Ha Tien from Ho Chi Minh City by sleeping bus. Travel time is about 8 hours, ticket price for one: 160,000 - 200,000 dong. Slipping basses are very convenient, but only for Vietnamese people whose height is rarely more than 1.8. For tall Europeans, this journey can be torture.

Tested for yourself, it’s still a pleasure. However, the bus most often has wireless Internet and you can while away the time by surfing social networks. The buses are equipped with air conditioning, so don't forget warm clothes in the cabin - Asians turn the cooling on at full power, and you can easily catch a cold.
