Cyprus from A to Z: holidays in Cyprus, maps, visas, tours, resorts, hotels and reviews. The best resorts in Cyprus: description and comparison, photos Which part of Cyprus is better to go on vacation

Ayia Napa

The resort of Ayia Napa is located on the south-eastern coast of the island of Cyprus, approximately 40 km. from the main airport in Larnaca (45 minutes drive).

Just 25-30 years ago Ayia Napa was a small fishing village, unknown to anyone except the Cypriots themselves. Now, it is one of the most popular beach resorts in Europe. Bars and discos are open here until dawn, and the fun doesn’t stop for a second! The lively and noisy resort attracts tourists with magnificent beaches with golden sand, steep cliffs and amazingly clear aquamarine and turquoise sea. Ayia Napa is a paradise for bronze tan fans and avid swimmers! The beaches stretching along the entire peninsula to another resort, Protaras, are considered the best in Cyprus. Here you can not only swim, but also do all types of water sports. Young people come here for sea and night entertainment, and for children there is no greater joy than frolicking in the Aqua and Luna Park.

At the same time, in this fantastic diversity, you can always find a romantic place for two and drink a glass of excellent Cypriot wine. The peninsula on which Ayia Napa is located ends at Cape Greco, which has preserved the untouched nature of its pristine landscapes. The bustling life in Ayia Napa contrasts sharply with the quiet of the surrounding hills and the atmosphere of calm and solitude that surrounds Cape Greco. When the sun sets, its rocky shores look fantastic!

Who should choose a holiday in Ayia Napa?

for connoisseurs of first-class beach holidays. Magnificent clean beaches, perfectly clear sea, very beautiful views

Limassol

Located on the southern coast of the island of Cyprus, Limassol with its 140 thousand inhabitants is the second largest city in Cyprus, the largest tourist center and the main sea gate of the country. The Greeks themselves call Limassol Lemesos.

If Nicosia is the administrative capital of the republic, then Limassol is considered the main business center of the country. More than half of the offshore companies registered in Cyprus have opened their offices in Limassol. The largest wineries are located here. The Limassol district produces the bulk of the harvest of vegetables and fruits.

The convenient location of the city and the hospitality of its residents attract foreigners to Limassol. During the years when neighboring Lebanon was at war, a large Lebanese community settled in Limassol. Currently, Russians have chosen Limassol as their place of residence. There are more of them here than in any other city on the island - several thousand. It is in Limassol that four Russian-language newspapers are published, two schools for Russian children are opened, a Russian club, a restaurant, and a Russian food store operate. Accordingly, when choosing a tour to Cyprus, our tourists first of all consider Limassol as their holiday destination in Cyprus

Limassol is famous for its festivals and celebrations. The Apokreo Carnival in February-March is considered the most spectacular on the island. In July, the city hosts an Arts Festival for a whole month. And September is marked by the famous Wine Festival.

Modern city
Limassol stretches along the coast from west to east for almost 15 km. The tourist area, in which almost all Limassol hotels are located, begins in the Old Harbor area and continues in an easterly direction, going far beyond the city limits of Limassol. Most of the objects of interest from the point of view of historical and architectural value are concentrated in the old part of the city, conventionally limited by the old port from the west, Gladstonos street from the north, Archiepiskopou Makariou III Avenue from the east and the Limassol embankment. It is better to explore the old town on foot. This is the only way, traveling through the narrow streets, you can feel the spirit of Limassol.

The city is divided into three main tourist areas: the central area of Limassol, the Potamos Yermasoyias area (5 km from the center) and the Amathus area (8 km from the center). All three areas are located on the coast; many hotels have their own sandy beaches, where you will be offered a wide selection of water sports and entertainment.

As a rule, there are no signs with street names on houses, so to get to the right place, contact local residents.

Abundant with historical and archaeological attractions, Limassol itself is able to satisfy your cultural hunger. However, due to its ideal geographical location, it provides an excellent base for excursions into the surrounding area and touring the rest of Cyprus. Most of the rest of the island is approximately one hour's drive away, making it ideal for an overview.

Culturally, Limassol is the wine center of Cyprus. The grapes, grown at the foot of the Troodos Mountains, are transported in an ancient way - by donkeys! They slowly mince, lowering the vats down the slope to waiting trucks, which take the harvest to one of the four largest wineries in Limassol. It is quite natural, therefore, that the city hosts the largest of the Cypriot festivals, namely the Wine Festival in September. Wine is welcomed by both locals and visitors, from the west and east of Cyprus, it flows freely and in incredible quantities, all this is accompanied by snacks, music and dancing. The revelry usually lasts about a week.

Limassol is considered one of the best places on the island for shopping, with good restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. You can wander through the narrow alleys of the center, or go out to the tourist area of Iermasogeia. An endless string of restaurants, taverns, bars and nightclubs offers any kind of entertainment to suit every taste and budget around the clock.

Larnaca

The resort of Larnaca is located on the south-eastern coast of the island of Cyprus, approximately 8 km. from the main airport in Larnaca (10 minutes drive).

A cozy seaside resort and a full-fledged convenient city with plenty of attractions for the whole family, Larnaca, located on the site of the ancient city of Kition, is rich in fascinating museums and archaeological sites. In terms of activity, the resort is inferior to both Ayia Napa and Limassol. The calling card of Larnaca is the famous Phinikoudis embankment with an alley of tall and slender date palms.

Most Larnaca hotels are located in the tourist area of the resort, hotels located on beautiful sandy beaches, in close proximity to numerous shops, taverns, bars and discos.

Pathos

The resort of Paphos is located on the southwestern coast of the island of Cyprus, 146 km. from the main airport in Larnaca. Paphos also has its own international airport, but currently there are no regular flights or charters from Ukraine. The concept of Paphos resort includes all resort towns on the entire western coast of Cyprus: this is the city of Paphos itself, and Aphrodite Hills, and Coral Bay, and the town of Polis, as well as Latchi. From Larnaca Airport: to hotels east of Paphos and located in the city - approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive, to hotels located west of Paphos - approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, to hotels in Latchi, Polis - about 2 hours.

This is a very nice, calm resort town with beautiful bays, wild and organized beaches, a wide selection of hotels for every taste, many bars, restaurants, taverns, a water park, and an aquarium.

Nicosia

The city of Nicosia is located inland, 51 km. from the main airport in Larnaca (30 minutes drive).

Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus, is a fascinating combination of old and new: high-rise buildings, street cafes and modern shops stand in stark contrast to the “old” city, enclosed within a ring of medieval stone walls. Today Nicosia is the cultural and financial center of the island, where government agencies, offices of companies, banks, and religious centers are located. It is also the largest city in Cyprus. Its population is about 200,000 people.

Divided into two parts, Nicosia is both the capital of the Republic of Cyprus and Turkish Northern Cyprus.

Who should choose a holiday in Nicosia?

for connoisseurs of first-class shopping. Makarios Avenue alone is 3-4 kilometers of continuous shops and shops, boutiques and beauty salons, shopping centers, cafes and restaurants.

Nicosia is a paradise for businessmen. It is in Nicosia that the business life of the island is concentrated.

Where to go while vacationing in Nicosia:

The main historical and architectural monuments of Nicosia are located in the old town. This kind of “city within a city” is surrounded by fortified walls with heart-shaped bastions. An interesting place to explore is Laiki Getinia, a restored quarter of the old town. The central street Makarios Avenue attracts all fashionistas from all over the world! This is where shops with magical and enchanting names are located, such as: Zara, Mango, Kookai, United Colors of Benetton, Sisley, Naf Naf, Pinko... Parallel to Makarios Avenue runs Stasikratous Street - a real Mecca for lovers of haute couture. There are boutiques of world-famous companies here: Fendi, Woolford, Versace, Max Mara, Louis Voitton and many others.

  • Pathos

This resort has won the recognition of many tourists for its beautiful beaches, a large number of historical and cultural monuments and a developed recreation infrastructure. It is not surprising that Paphos is popular among wealthy people. According to researchers, this city was founded during the Trojan War.

The oldest local attraction is the port fortress, which was built under Alexander the Great. In addition, it is worth visiting the ruins of the villas of Dionysus, Aion and Theseus. These ancient structures spent about 16 centuries underground. The catacombs of St. Solomonia and the Odeon Theater are no less impressive.

Paphos is famous for its cozy coves and secluded beaches. Coral Bay is considered the best beach. There are no strong waves here, and the entrance to the sea is quite gentle. On the shores of Lara Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus, which became famous for its sea turtle reserve. Paphos will definitely appeal to lovers of active recreation. After all, while relaxing at the resort, you can ride a jet ski, explore the Jubilee Shoals underwater gorge, and also take a boat trip along the coast. The highlight of the city's surroundings are the medieval taverns.

  • Larnaca

Larnaca is the most ancient city of Cyprus. If you decide to come here, be sure to visit the ruins of ancient Kitium (13th century BC) and the underground chapel of Ayia Faneromeni. But the most amazing local attraction of the resort is the Salt Lake. In winter you can see flocks of pink flamingos here.

The resort coast consists of a chain of beaches, the best of which is Mackenzie Beach. It has gained popularity due to its numerous entertainment and variety of water sports. The Palm Promenade, a street running along the coast, has become the hallmark of Larnaca. The named resort is one of the main centers of active recreation in Cyprus. Larnaca will delight you with excellent conditions for surfing, diving and yachting. Note that there are several sunken ships near the coast. In addition, the resort has an excellent karting center.

  • Ayia Napa

Lively and bustling, Ayia Napa attracts tourists with its amazing combination of golden sand and clear aquamarine sea. This is where the best beaches of Cyprus are located.

In particular, it is worth highlighting such beaches as Makronisi, Ayia Thekla, Nissi, Limnara and Konnos. For example, “Nissi Beach” is a wide strip of white sand 2 km long, which is limited on one side by a green area, and on the other connected by a sand spit with a small rocky island.

The main attraction of Larnaca is the Ayas Napas Monastery (16th century). And to the west of the city is the archaeological site of Makronissos. Here you can see rock-cut tombs and a small sanctuary. Ayia Napa is the best Cypriot resort for families with children. Little tourists will be delighted by the Dinosaur Park, Marine Park and the largest European theme water park, Water World. Adults can go diving. After all, the local underwater world is famous for its sunken ships, ancient monuments and mysterious caves.

This is a place to go for those looking for a relaxing family holiday. A few decades ago there was nothing here but fig groves. Among the local attractions, the first to be highlighted is Cape Greco, which is famous for its unique sea caves. We must not forget about the Ilias Church, around which there are many walking paths and special picnic areas. Children will love the modern aquarium located in the city center.

The most famous beach is Fig Tree Bay, which gets its name from the grove of fig trees that surround it. Scoutari Beach is no less popular. It will especially appeal to lovers of snorkeling (swimming under the surface of the water with a breathing tube and mask). Vacationers will have the opportunity to water ski or kayak, and also take a walk along the rocky coast.

Limassol is famous for its long cultural traditions. The most famous Cypriot festivals take place here:

  • Ancient Drama Festival;
  • flower festival;
  • June Festival;
  • wine festival

Limassol is home to both the largest wine-making center and the largest port of Cyprus. The oldest wine in the world is produced here - sweet Commandaria. Excursions to distilleries are often organized for resort guests, where you can watch the wine making process and even taste the final product.

Limassol is one of the best shopping centers on the island. Shopping lovers should head to Makarius Avenue, home to designer boutiques, china and jewelry stores. It's better to go to St. Andrews Street for souvenirs.

Due to the high silicon content, the sand of local beaches has a grayish tint. Note that silicon has a beneficial effect on the skin. Among windsurfers, the most popular is Lady's Mile Beach, and among divers, Governor's Beach. Water parks "Wet"n Wild" and "Fasouri Watermania" are suitable for children's recreation. In addition, Limassol boasts the only zoo in Cyprus.

TOURISTS' ANSWERS:

Another summer season is coming and it’s time to think about a trip to Cyprus. Warmth has already arrived there, although the sea may still be cold, but the sun is already gentle and ready to give you the first tan. So, I propose to talk about the resorts of Cyprus, where it is better to go and what to expect from each of them. Recently, new resort places have appeared on the market, such as: Pissouri, Polis. But the main ones remained the same: Larnaca, Limassol, Ayia Napa, Paphos and Protaras. Tourist planes arrive at two airports: Larnaca and Paphos, so based on where your resort is located, you plan your final destination. For example, if you have chosen Paphos as your vacation destination, then it is certainly better to fly to the nearest airport to reduce the distance on the transfer; this is especially convenient when small children are flying with you. True, in the high season you often have to adapt to what’s left if you haven’t booked a trip in advance.

Map of Cyprus resorts.

The most popular resort in Cyprus - Ayia Napa. It is famous for its gorgeous beaches: Grecian Bay and Nissi Beach. All beaches here are municipal, awarded the blue flag for cleanliness. The town itself is not large; the hotel base mainly consists of apartments and 3* hotels. For more demanding tourists, the choice of accommodation facilities will not be large at all. But it is very quiet and peaceful here. In the center of Ayia Napa, all entertainment venues are usually concentrated, and this is a special street where all the nightclubs are located, but it in no way disturbs those around you, the main thing is not to book a hotel near it, otherwise even earplugs will not help. In my opinion, the resort is universal and will suit absolutely all categories of tourists, from families with children to active party youth.

Beach in Ayia Napa.

Next in popularity is a large port city Limassol. Here the picture of rest is somewhat different. In Limassol itself there are mainly 3* hotels. But tourists do not like to stay in the city center, preferring the outskirts. There is a large selection of high-star hotels, including chain hotels. Some have their own beaches. Many accommodation facilities already have good territory and well-developed infrastructure. The beaches in Limassol are gray sand, with small pebbles in some places. From the point of view of holidays with children, it is quite good here, and the hotels themselves have great opportunities, from playgrounds to children's clubs.

Limassol is perfect for families with children and for tourists looking for comfortable hotels with a high level of service.

The third resort where tourists go is Pathos. It attracts with its cultural values. The beaches here are more rocky; you can often find that 5* hotels are located further from the sea than 3* ones. There is such a nuance here. I would not recommend this resort to families with children. It is more suitable for a respectable, calm public who are looking for a quiet, comfortable holiday.

Paphos beach.

Protaras– a small resort town located not far from Ayia Napa. Famous for its sandy beaches and good access to the sea. It is very quiet and peaceful here. Most hotels are 3*-4*. Who needs a relatively inexpensive holiday should choose Protaras. This is especially true for families with children and elderly tourists. The drive from Larnaca airport to Protaras is not long, about an hour. The infrastructure in this place is also well developed, there are supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, shops. It definitely won't be boring.

Protaras

Larnaca– once upon a time, most tourists chose it for their vacation. There is a nice long and wide beach with yellow sand. The sea is shallow; to get to the depths you need to walk a considerable distance. With children this is definitely a plus. The main value of Larnaca is the palm embankment, which in the evenings attracts a large number of slowly strolling tourists. However, Larnaca has changed a lot recently. It became more like a metropolis, traffic jams formed, buildings began to grow in height. This is no longer the Larnaca it once was. Therefore, from old memory, tourists still come here, staying in 3* hotels or apartments, but in order to feel like at a resort, I would advise booking a hotel on the outskirts of Larnaca, for example, “Palm Beach”.

And now about two new resorts that have appeared on the menu on the Russian market.

Policy– located 30 km. from Paphos. A place with good sandy and wide beaches. A small infrastructure, so that tourists have somewhere to go out to eat, buy some necessary things and products. Polis is a place for those who want to take a break from civilization, to be alone with themselves and nature. Among the accommodation facilities, there are level 5 deluxe hotels and very simple apartments.

Pissouri is located between Paphos and Limassol. The resort can be called very young, but has been developing rapidly in recent years. In Pissouri you can still experience the whole Cypriot flavor, of which, alas, there is very little left. Holidays here are extremely calm and measured. Perhaps it is good for newlyweds, families with children, and elderly tourists to come here. The beaches in Pissouri are sandy and pebble.

Is the answer helpful?

Cyprus is pleased to welcome tourists from all over the world and different age categories. On this magnificent island, the third largest in the Mediterranean, there is entertainment to suit every taste, even the most sophisticated traveler. All year round the island delights all visitors with its attractions and wonderful resorts. For those who are just planning to visit these marvelous, historical places, it will be useful to learn about the conditions that exist here.

In order to arrive and not be disappointed, you first need to decide which holiday option is closer to you - active or peaceful. Based on this, the tourism infrastructure of Cyprus is able to offer an option that will satisfy the tourist’s request. By and large, the resorts here can be divided into two groups: places where there is always fun and excitement, and calmer areas. The first includes Ayia Napa, Limassol, Larnaca. And all the others can be considered quiet resorts - Nicosia, Paphos, Polis, Protaras, Troodos. It is clear that this division is very arbitrary, since if you are in the right mood, you can throw a noisy party even in the most remote village. Here we are talking more about the presence of an active nightlife and round-the-clock noise and traffic.

Ayia Napa

Although this resort is quite young, it has already been dubbed the second Ibiza. Indeed, there is a round-the-clock holiday here; it seems that the city never sleeps. Owners of bars and discos are constantly finding new ways to create an atmosphere of fun and celebration. No one will be bored here, even if you happen to come on vacation alone. You will find a company quickly, as young people from various countries come here to recharge themselves with positivity for a long time. At the same time, everyone here is young, who loves drive and incendiary parties until the morning, despite the age on their passport. So tourists of different ages relax here, united by a thirst for positive experiences.

This resort also boasts the best beaches on the entire island. Golden sand, a wide shore, a gentle approach to the water, the absence of characteristic winds, and relative depth make this area attractive for vacationers. There is a magnificent water park here that attracts children with its antique interior. So this place will also be a good option for a family holiday. For youth holidays, Nissi Beach (pictured) is more suitable, and for families – Makronisos Beach and Grecian Bay.

Limassol

This resort is suitable for both adults and children. All kinds of entertainment are concentrated here. They especially took care of the younger generation - three water parks, a garden with animals, and an amusement park. Also, the largest number of Russian-speaking employees work here, which greatly facilitates communication. Residents of Limassol love to organize celebrations. For example, in September the whole city celebrates new wine, and in February there is a carnival that lasts two weeks.

Regarding the beaches, there are all comfortable conditions for a wonderful holiday. The only thing is, since the place is very popular, there are always a lot of people here. The peculiarity of the local sand is its volcanic origin and enrichment with silicon, which makes it useful for metabolic processes that occur in the skin. Some of the best here are the city's central beach and the "Ladies Mile", which have a lot of beach activities.

Larnaca

Another center for active tourism is Larnaca. This city is the center from which it is most convenient to explore all corners of Cyprus. There is also an international airport located here. It is important to mention that here, unlike the previous two, it is not so noisy. So this is a convenient place for families with children, as well as for older people. Tourists have a lot of wonderful restaurants and cafes to choose from, which, in addition to delicious, colorful treats, offer their visitors a magnificent landscape in the form of the famous palm alley, one of the attractions of Larnaca.

The beaches of Larnaca are also perfect for a family holiday. Gray sand mixed with small pebbles, protected by stone embankments from the waves, stretches about 25 kilometers. The sea inhabitants, urchins, who are frequent guests here, can become an inconvenience, so it will be useful to stock up on special slippers before setting out for a swim.

Nicosia

An amazing city that is the capital of Cyprus. This is a real paradise for admirers and connoisseurs of history. There are many architectural complexes concentrated here that have decorated the island since time immemorial. The city is divided into the old one, which houses all the cultural finds, and the newer one, which has restaurants, boutiques, and office buildings. What makes Nicosia special is that it combines two cultures. Greeks live in the Republic of Cyprus, and Turks live in Northern Cyprus. This provides an opportunity to get closer to the traditions of both nations.

The beaches of Nicosia attract tourists with golden sand, warm sea and comfortable conditions.

Pathos

The true atmosphere of the Mediterranean reigns here - time flows languidly and measuredly. Paphos was once the capital of the island and has preserved the main wonders of those times unchanged. This is a real find for those who like to be alone with their inner world while enjoying beautiful views. By right, vacation here is considered the most elite on the entire island. This is facilitated by the best hotel located here and relatively high prices compared to other resorts. It is better not to go to Paphos with children, since the beaches here are not particularly suitable for their recreation, and therefore hotels do not particularly develop services for children. Newlyweds and lovers love to come here, as there is a myth that Aphrodite herself, the goddess of love, was born nearby.

Policy

This resort is perfect for a family holiday. There is a striking difference compared to the bustling cities of the south. You can spend your vacation here in a truly divine and measured way. The city, removed from the bustle of its active counterparts, lives its own quiet life. There are fishing fairs and amazing competitions among colorful yachts.

The beaches here are clean, secluded and calm. To the west of Polis are the beaches of Latchi, where not only tourists, but also Cypriots themselves come to relax. On the coastal shore there are many fish restaurants and a wonderful fishing harbor.

Protaras

Another suitable city for a family holiday. Since the resort is located near Ayia Napa, the beaches here are equally luxurious. Only there are significantly fewer people and noise here. And for those who get bored, there will always be the opportunity to go to a nearby cheerful resort for entertainment. Here is the famous Fig Bay, near which the best beaches of Protaras are located. The embankment is strewn with bushes that bloom in spring and turn this area into a unique alley. There are significantly fewer attractions here than in other resorts. This place is literally created for maximum relaxation in comfortable sun loungers and leisurely walks along the magical alley.

Troodos

This resort is quite different from the rest. Suitable for those travelers who love hiking in the mountains. For this purpose, the most comfortable conditions have been created here - in the warm season you can wander along specially equipped trails, and in winter you can go skiing to your heart's content. It also has its own attractions, such as ancient temples and monasteries.

When choosing Cyprus resort towns for a holiday, we are guided by such factors as holiday time, number of holidaymakers, weather, infrastructure, entertainment for adults and children, transport, beach coverage, entrance to the water, and the environment. If you focus on the beginning-end of the season from April to November, then it is better to choose the north-eastern part of the coast: in April the air and sea are already warmer there, and this warmth lasts until November.

Therefore, in order to study the most popular resorts of Cyprus, their description and comparison, we will move along the coastline from northeast to southwest, starting with the Turkish Famagusta. We will stop at the most significant recreation centers to get acquainted with their coast and surroundings, opportunities for entertainment and educational tourism. So let's begin!

The first point is Famagusta - a port city, a famous ghostly resort town. It belongs to the Republic of Turkey; getting here is somewhat more difficult than the rest of the independent part of the island. Therefore, there are fewer vacationers here than in more “promoted” places, and the vacation, accordingly, is calmer and more pleasant.

Both the ancient and modern life of Famagusta are quite interesting, there is something to see. You can get there from Nicosia by Itimat buses. The traffic interval is 30 minutes, travel time is 60. Back in the middle of the last century, this ancient area, which the Turks call Magusa, occupied the top of the list of “the best resorts in the world.” But the Turkish invasion and annexation of territories in the early 70s seriously reduced the popularity of the town, although neither the seashore, nor the velvety sand, nor the gentle sea became any worse.

You can book a hotel in Magus; they are located near the coastline or in the center. The famous Salamis Road is suitable for shopping; there are bars and restaurants on it and in the surrounding area. The cuisine is predominantly Turkish.

The town of Kyrenia, located in the north of the island, is not inferior to Famagusta, and even surpasses it in popularity. It is rightfully classified as “the best resorts in Cyprus”. You can get to this tourist capital of Northern Cyprus by public transport from Famagusta and Nicosia.

Kyrenia will delight you not only with clean sandy beaches and clear blue seas, but also with its proximity to diverse and interesting attractions. Hotels from luxury to budget can be found near the water and in the center. It is recommended to move around the city using rented cars or bicycles.

Ayia Napa, Nissi Beach

Resorts Protaras and Ayia Napa

Kokkinokoria, a continuation to the south of the Cypriot resort region of Famagusta, is represented by the legendary towns of Protaras and Ayia Napa. This area is distinguished by blue flag sandy beaches, good tourist infrastructure, and ample opportunities for active entertainment and excursions.

The most famous beach of Protaras is “Date”, also known as Fig Tree bay. It is this place in Fig Tree Bay that is most visited by vacationers and most often captured in all sorts of photographs. Here you can have a snack, fortunately, there are a lot of restaurants around, and enjoy active water activities. Also among the popular and convenient beach areas of Protaras:

  • Luma or Golden Coast,
  • Flamingo, aka Sunrice beach,
  • Green Bay is a paradise for vacationers and divers.

In general, Protaras offers a relaxing holiday with children, which the local coastline is very conducive to, or family relaxation. Entertainment is also present. In addition to the “standard” beach and various excursions, you can visit the “dancing fountains” in Protaras or the oceanarium on the outskirts of Pernera.

Pernera is a developing resort area near Protaras. There are beautiful beaches here, as well as beautifully clean sea and air. At the same time, the ecology is perhaps the best in all of environmentally friendly Cyprus. These places are most favorable for children's health and self-relaxation.

The famous Ayia Napa - the Cypriot "Ibiza" - is known for its nightclubs, youth parties, beautiful sandy and small-pebble beaches, which smoothly reach Larnaca. The peculiarity of the Napa resort is the opportunity to actively have fun and relax in solitude; here everyone will find a place to their liking.

This resort is especially popular and therefore densely populated with vacationers. There are beaches within the city limits and beyond. Especially known:

  • Nissi,
  • Grishn,
  • Golden (Lanta Beach),
  • Makronissos,
  • Sandy Bay and many others.

All beach areas are municipal, only services are paid. Everywhere is clean, good infrastructure and transport links, entertainment for children and adults, including the largest water park on the island. In some places, the shore is not particularly suitable for swimming with children due to the rocky entrance or bottom.

Larnaca and Limassol

Larnaca is considered the cheapest of all the resorts in Cyprus. This is the “air gate” of the sunny island. Having arrived here, you don’t have to move further in search of the best places (although there are some in Cyprus!), but check into a hotel on the beach line and enjoy all the delights of a relaxing holiday.

Here you can stroll along the Finikoudes promenade, sunbathe on the clean city beach of Mackenze or Finikoudes, sit in a local restaurant enjoying seafood. Thanks to the peace that this place exudes, Larnaca is preferred by older holidaymakers or families with children. But young couples will also find places here to retire and enjoy their vacation.

The shore is small pebble or with gray-yellow sand. The seabed is flat everywhere, although sandy. As elsewhere, there is a good tourist infrastructure, it is convenient to make excursion trips.

The distance from Larnaca to Limassol is 70 km. Limassol is the “Russian capital” of Cyprus. So this place is definitely not suitable for those who would like to take a break from their compatriots.

However, Limassol is considered a universal resort. Young and old, those who love peace and tranquility, or who want to make restless children healthier at sea, can have an equally pleasant time here. This large city has conditions for any type of recreation you choose:

  • sea bathing and beach relaxation: Dark gray volcanic sand containing flint has a particularly positive effect on the skin and overall health.
  • excursion tours: Limassol is an equidistant point to all island attractions.
  • entertainment with children: an amusement park with the only zoo in Cyprus and three nearby water parks with an amusement park will help with this.
  • participation in numerous festivals: they are held here from February to October.
  • parties in clubs and restaurants: those who are thirsty are offered a wide selection of nightclubs, discos and bars.

Limassol, the second largest city on the island, is a place for those who prefer a resort holiday close to the achievements of urban civilization.

Limassol

Paphos and Pissouri

Some believe that the most beautiful resort places in Cyprus are Pissouri and Paphos. The charming town of Pissouri is located 30 km to the west from Limassol. The entire area in this area is covered with fragrant greenery and historical sites. Beaches are sandy and pebble. Pissouri is the epitome of peace and tranquility, so it is suitable for those looking for a relaxing holiday and solitude. But both children and active tourists can also have a good rest here, enjoying the convenient coastline, fish fairs and the nearby picturesque National Park.

The next point on the coast is the former capital of the island, Paphos. Now it is a famous, expensive and prestigious resort. People fly to Paphos airport on vacation from Britain, Italy, and Germany. Those of our compatriots who love sophistication and peace, the opportunity to be alone, also relax.

The coastline of Paphos is rocky and pebbly. The sandy beach of Coral Bay is well known, 5 km from the city center. And although there is bulk sand on it, the calm sea, shallow waters, clean water and excellent infrastructure are ideal for family and other recreation.

  • children's holidays and romantic couples: there are well-equipped and wild secluded beaches. There is also an aquarium and a water park.
  • active tourists and supporters of ecotourism: in June, a fun carnival “Kataklysmos” is held here, and the annual Aphrodite festival is also organized.

Lara Beach on the shores of the National Reserve offers not only water activities, but also observation of the unique green turtles that live here. You can watch birds in the Bird Park or just have fun and relax in one of the best water parks - the Aphrodite complex. Please note that when considering the island of Cyprus and its wonderful resorts as an option for a holiday or holiday, you can relax in Paphos almost all year round.

In this area, the mountains come close to the sea, and a unique microclimate is formed. In hot weather, the sea breeze is very refreshing, and in winter it is never too cold: the temperature remains at +7 - +14 degrees.
