Sicily. Where to relax in Sicily Where is the best vacation in Sicily

When going to Sicily, many people wonder about choosing a place. Friends went somewhere, heard about something, read about something. But they continue to have doubts because they don’t know exactly what they want from holidays in Sicily .

It seems like you can swim in the sea and see more, you want to do everything in time. Is this real? In a week it’s almost impossible, or rather at a gallop, but in a couple of weeks you can already accomplish a lot. But it’s still better to set priorities for yourself - a more relaxed beach holiday or more educational.

1. If you are more educational, then it is worth staying in or near major cities - Syracuse, Catania, Palermo, Trapani. In addition to the fact that they themselves have a lot to see, they are also conveniently located in relation to the main highways of the island - highways. Those. 15-30 minutes, you got onto the highway and went to look further. It is clear that having settled in some cozy San Vito Lo Capo, for an hour you will only get onto the highway, but you still need to get there further. There's nothing you can do, this is a resort fee; you won't find good beaches in big cities. I am not including it in the list because in terms of distance to the main attractions it is not very convenient.

Therefore, in this case you choose - north or south.

As the capital of the island, it is very rich historically and architecturally. Many people don’t like it for its dirt and a certain “clutter”, not without this, alas, but the city is very colorful. In addition to the city itself, you can go to the suburbs - Monreale, Monte Pellegrino, and also get to Bagheria and Corleone. And even swim on the beach in Mondello– popular among city residents. In addition, from you can go and see Trapani And Erice. You can choose a day and go admire the panoramas in Castellammare del Golfo And Scopello or take a walk in the nature reserve Riserva dello Zingaro. Also visit Trapani And Erice- a small medieval town on the mountain. A fabulous panorama will unfold before you.

Catania

By selecting , you can see Taormina, Messina and of course, the pearl of Sicily - Etna. – this is not just a mountain with a crater on top, it is a whole separate world. The area of the volcano is huge, the landscapes and towns are varied and unique. From Catania you can go to Syracuse- about an hour's drive, and even in Ragusa, along the Catania-Ragusa road, which runs among picturesque hills and orange groves - about an hour and a half drive. It’s also convenient to go to the center of the island and see Ennu, Caltagirone, and go shopping in . For many, shopping is an important component of a holiday in Sicily:) If you are a lover of natural beauty, you should definitely go to

There are a lot of tourists in the Alcantara gorge, it is not far from Giardini Naxos, but not far from Avola there is a place called Cava Grande del Cassibile - a unique natural canyon with azure lakes below, it is more difficult to get to and there are fewer tourists.

Syracuse

Kalamoske Beach

Many people choose, and they do it right. Within a radius of 5-15 km from the city you can already find sandy beaches. The city itself is small, there is no such crazy traffic as in or Catania, but surprisingly good. Especially the old center is the heart of the city, Ortigia. From Syracuse you can easily get to Catania, Etna and Taormina, and in the other direction - you will find yourself in a magical valley Val di Noto. Look at the handsome man himself - , you'll get to , Scicli and. This is the Sicilian Baroque region. And it's worth watching. From Syracuse It is also about an hour's drive to the southern gate of Sicily. From this town you can take a ferry to Malta in just 90 minutes.

2. Now, if you chose a relaxed-beachy holidays in Sicily with a mix of sightseeing. Where to point your feet.

Cefalu

Beach holiday, northern Sicily

And I would recommend avoiding the surrounding area for obvious reasons. Proximity to a large port city, traffic on the highway at the entrance. The beach around Palermo is beautiful, but it is better to go there in low season. Otherwise, you will be sharing your 2 square meters of beach with your neighbors, and even paying for it. Cramped and expensive. The proximity of the beach to the city is always more of a minus than a plus. Good beaches in the north of the island start at Castellammare del Golfo. The resort itself has a sandy beach, and you can also relax in Alcamo Marina And Balestrate; lovers of secluded bays can find suitable accommodation in Scopello. Further, behind the National Park you will find a famous resort San Vito lo Capo. Small village built in Arabic style, linear structure, good beach. The place is quite touristy and popular, the restaurants are not the cheapest. It is also crowded during the season, especially in August, when all the Italians are on vacation. This resort is good for a relaxing holiday. If you wish, you can go to or, they are within an hour by car. In the other direction, in half an hour to forty minutes you will reach the pearl of the Tyrrhenian coast. A beautiful medieval town on the rocks, but there is also a sandy beach. The beach is small, and during the season, of course, it is crowded, both with residents of the town and tourists. If you rent a car, there will be problems with parking - only residents can enter the center Cefalu, the rest must look for a parking space, which is very difficult and expensive. If you have a car, it is better to rent an apartment or villa in the surrounding area Cefalu, and not in the city itself, I also recommend this to families with children. For singles and couples without a car, Cefalu very pleasant and comfortable. I also recommend places on the Tyrrhenian coast Joyosa Marea And Capo di Orlando.

Beach holiday, south of Sicily

They often look for housing in the surrounding area Catania– due to proximity to the airport. In the most Catania I would not recommend stopping for the same reasons as in. Large city, bustle, traffic, stress. There is a city sandy beach, but this is a solution for a very budget holiday. The beach is not very clean, there are a large number of Arab traders and a very diverse, not always prosperous public. By the way, the flower of Catania - doctors, lawyers, professors - do not rest in their city, but everyone goes to the south - for Syracuse And But that, to the beaches Santa Maria del Focallo(wild beach with dunes, 7 km of golden sand)

Cathedral of Syracuse

or V Marzamemi, Lido di Noto, Avolu, San Lorenzo. From Catania to the side Taormina Almost the entire coastline is rocky. Black volcanic rocks. Very picturesque and good for diving, which is why many people like to stay at Acitrezza or Achikastello. Nice sandy beach in the town Maskali(a little dirty), sandy beach in Giardini Naxos, sand and pebble in Letojanni. , despite its fame, is not famous for its beaches. Tiny beach Isola Bella Accessible only by cable car or stairs, it is inconvenient and usually overcrowded. Taormina– a town for a trip for 1-2 days, but definitely not for beach relaxation.

We are moving south from Catania. Up to Syracuse The entire coastline is rocky, with rare exceptions. But south of Syracuse relaxation zones begin. Beaches Fontane Bianche, Arenella, and- magnificent. This is also the Ionian coast of Sicily with clear azure water and a flat bottom, and as a result, a smooth entry into the water. During the high season - July and August it is very crowded. Interesting place - Portopalo di Capopassero. I advise you to visit this place, if only to mark on your personal map that you have visited the southernmost point of Europe. Well, besides this - swimming in the waters of 2 seas, by the way, in addition to sand, there are high shores, which means excellent diving, and the Spanish fortress of Philip III. The beaches are small, but there are also some.

Next begin the spacious beaches of the Mediterranean, simply ideal for a relaxing holiday on Sicily and for those who don’t like crowds on the beach. 7km Santa Maria del Focallo, then the beaches , And . Of course, they are more distant from Catania airport, about 1.20, an hour and a half drive. Not much if you know that you are going to relax on spacious sandy beaches, marked with the EU blue flag for clean water and environmental friendliness. These beaches are wide and even during peak season there is no crowding, there is always room. There is an option to fly to Malta- then everything is close, at the same time take a look, and after 90 minutes (a pleasant boat trip), you will land on Sicilian soil in . You can also fly to the new Comiso airport, which is near Ragusa, from there it’s a half hour drive maximum to the Ragusan beaches. Nice beaches in Punta Secca– Italians adore the place because... the famous series “Commissioner Montalbano” is filmed there, and a little further - in Scolitti. Well, this is where I would recommend you to stop, as far as the south and arrivals at airports are concerned. Catania or Comiso.

Zone Gela Avoid – an oil refinery with all that it implies. The province also has very good beaches, including the famous Scala dei Turchi(Turkish stairs) – chalk rock made of white limestone. But if you want to relax on the beaches Agrigento or in the surrounding area Shakky– you already need to fly to. From Catania you will drive for 3-4 hours, which is no big deal. From Palermo or Trapani - an hour and a half to two, depending on the place you choose. Nice beaches – San Leone, Eraclea minoa, Capo Bianco, Siculiana Marina, Marinella di Selinunte. The beaches are long and large, so even during the August peak there is a place for everyone. Great place - thermal resort Sciacca. There are no standing beaches in the city itself, but you can rent a villa nearby, where there are many small cozy beaches with golden and even red corral sand.

Oh Sicily! Oh, beauty! Gives only emotions, joy, warmth and cordiality! Of course, all this is not without the help of charming and sweet guides, Elena and Rosario, who know everything about Sicily! When choosing where to go to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the choice fell on Sicily, simply opening the world map, I pointed my finger at this island (although many people start their trips from Boot, but for me it’s always the other way around) and I also grabbed Malta to see two countries, and indeed two countries, since Sicily is Sicily, and no explanation is needed here. She is one and only one! So I had six months before the trip. Since I am an individual traveler (I don’t like crowds), I had to think through everything carefully, and accordingly, I needed a good and decent guide and accompaniment. Glory to the Internet! I found Elena’s website, read it from A to Z (based on the style and style of writing, I liked it, everything is concise and simple) and decided to write, albeit with caution (you understand, this is such a time now). Elena answered quickly, which made me very happy. Everything happened quickly, easily and naturally in a friendly manner, as if Elena had known me for a very long time. Here I am in Sicily, (Elena and Rosario met me) of course, I didn’t receive the suitcase upon arrival, it was my first time))) (I found it the next day and thank God). Then excursions, excursions and more excursions. Eh, blunder! Words cannot be found or described! A piece of paradise, despite February and rain, we were also pleased with sunny days! As they say, nature has no bad weather and nothing can spoil its beauty! But there are very few tourists! On vacation, the people who are next to me are important to me. Elena and Rosario are very subtle, sensitive, bright, decent people, responsive, without a drop of pretense or cunning, with a sense of humor. This, you know, is worth a lot. And, of course, they are professionals in their field! At times it seemed that...

Ekaterina Nazartseva with her husband, Moscow, apartment at Villa Ninetta At the end of June, my husband and I vacationed in Sicily. Of course, it took a long time to choose the route, where to stop, etc. Quite by accident we went to the siciliadom website and contacted Elena. And it was a great success, as it turned out later. Lena very quickly provided the most detailed information and, what is important, it was absolutely true. Lena herself is a very nice young woman, well educated, very friendly and always ready to help. Any question - where to go, where it is more convenient to park, buy groceries, etc. - all to Lena. One day we had a medical problem, and it is impossible to buy medicine without a prescription in Italy, and Lena and her wonderful husband Rosario took us to their local doctor, everything was resolved very quickly and free of charge. Now about the villa. We chose Villa Ninetta. Our apartment was on the second floor, and Lena lived downstairs with her husband and parents. Firstly, the house has excellent sound insulation, it felt like we were alone. Secondly, a very nice family, we even went to an authentic Sicilian lunch and dinner. Thirdly, very nice and spacious apartments, clean, new furniture, 2 huge terraces where you can sunbathe, and a small pool with sea water below. The sea is about a kilometer away. You can walk, borrow free bicycles from Lena or by car. There are no parking problems at this location. The beach is excellent, sand for many kilometers, clear, very clean water. A huge plus is that there are few hotels, the beach is very free, no crowds. And another important thing was that it was already very hot, but there was a slight wind there all the time, it was very comfortable at sea and in the house. We never even turned on the air conditioning. There are many excellent fish restaurants and inexpensive ones around. In the evening we usually went to different towns, very nice, baroque. But you need a car. Or Lena, again, can organize any trips, entertainment, tastings, etc. Then we moved to Catania, a good Sheraton hotel, but after our apartment...

Irina Galina, St. Petersburg, Apartments at Villa Ninetta We vacationed at Villa Ninetta in July 2017. From the very beginning, Elena helped us with all issues: from housing to tickets and car rental. Fast, efficient and in our native language! The villa itself turned out to be even more comfortable and spacious than what we expected based on the photo. Balconies, shutters and a variety of entrances and windows provided coolness and fresh air. All the equipment worked perfectly, there was quite enough dishes. And the friendly and smiling hosts, not all of whom even spoke English, created an atmosphere of true Italian hospitality. There are also wonderful dogs and cats living there. In a word, you won't regret it.

Our friends recommended SicilyDom to us; they vacationed through them for 2 years in a row. We decided to take care of our summer vacation in advance and wrote to Lena back in January.

good day, Elena! We recently returned to Murmansk and plunged into the usual everyday worries. We had a great time! After resting in Pozzallo we visited Rome, then returned to Finland and went home to Murmansk. We really enjoyed our holiday in Sicily and Pozzallo.

I was on vacation with my wife and two sons, 17 and 13 years old. Villa Anna is located on the coastline, so when you go outside you immediately find yourself on a magnificent sandy beach. Villa Anna is very wonderful and convenient for a small family.

Elena, good afternoon. I wanted to thank you very much for organizing our holiday at Villa Glamis (11.06.16-09.07.16). Our daughter is already 5 years old and we always book villas in different countries for a seaside holiday. But this is the first time I have encountered such efficiency, competence and care for vacationers.

We spent the summer months of 2015 on the island of Sicily, in the town of Marina di Ragusa. Having set the goal of visiting the island of Sicily for 2 months in the summer with two small children (3 and 10 years old), I began to surf the Internet.

Hello dear Elena. I am very glad that I found your site on the Internet quite by accident and thanks to you we had a wonderful vacation. I looked through all the information on this site and it interested me, because the guys offer everything that might be useful on a trip. This includes accommodation, car rental, excursions, and most importantly, constant support in a foreign country. I didn’t write, but immediately called on Viber. I really liked Elena’s professional approach to what I wanted: choosing apartments, renting a car. Before arriving in Sicily, we were in Rome for 5 days and kept in touch with Elena all these days. It was a little scary - suddenly we would arrive, but there would be no car, and what if something else happened... But everything was on time and super. We didn’t have time to get our luggage, and Lena called, suggested the best way to go and said that she would be waiting for us at the entrance to the city to take us to the place. While we were driving (120 km), she called several more times and asked if everything was okay with us. This kind of care was very pleasant. We vacationed in the small southern town of Pozzallo in the Rizza apartments. The apartment did not disappoint us: good location, beautiful sea view. The beach is a maximum of five minutes away (the beach is free and has a blue flag) - fine sand, clear water. The apartment has everything you need, even a beach umbrella. The hostess is wonderful. Elena and her husband Rosario are very nice, positive people. They told us where the best restaurants were, drove with us to the supermarket, advised which cities were worth visiting and at what time. When any questions arose, Lena was always in touch. God bless her for her patience with tourists like us. Lena and Rosario and I went on a tour of the winery. It was unforgettable: a wonderful, warm atmosphere, breakfast, grape picking, then we pressed it, then lunch and wine tasting. Guys, who will be in Sicily, I highly recommend this trip. My friends just got jealous watching the video of this...

Good afternoon, Elena, I finally found the time to write to you. I want to express my deep gratitude to you and Rosario for giving us the opportunity to have such a great holiday. First of all, of course, this is “super-mega” and other very, very wonderful attitude, attention to us as vacationers and your clients. Your professionalism deserves high praise. We lived in the wonderful villa Cheru. Cozy, small, clean with good repair and furniture. The house has everything you need, even a garden with flowers, lemons and a palm tree, so that not only two people can live comfortably, especially since the sea is nearby, right behind the dunes. The sea and the beach are a special impression and memory. The water is clean, the entrance to the sea is gentle, sand. The beach is cleaned daily and stretches along the entire coast, where there is everything for every taste. The relaxation is extraordinary. In order to plunge into the bustle of the city and wander around the shops, you don’t need to travel far - the cities of Pozzalo, Ispica and others are quite close, where you can see amazing architecture and feel the real Sicilian flavor. People in Sicily are friendly, helpful, cheerful, they will always help and understand, even if you speak Russian and they answer in Italian. It is very important that, on Elena’s advice, we took a car and therefore were mobile, especially since the roads are not congested and are very good. Total - 10 days flew by as one, we had a rest, got a lot of impressions and, it seems to me, made friends in the person of Elena and Rosario, because only friends can be so caring, friendly, meet, tell, warn, advise, help, accompany and even give their kettle when I really wanted to drink tea in Russian. So, Elena and Rosario, a deep bow to you and a huge, huge thank you. The next vacation is just for you. See you Irina and Dima.

2015-07-26T06:26:42-08:00

Dear Elena! First of all, I express my deep gratitude to you for your professionalism and patience. Every time I pestered you with all sorts of insanely endless questions like what kind of things in the form of green ears are sold by the guy with the small car opposite the supermarket or where to buy a vegetable peeler, I had the feeling that all you were doing was taking care of me and my family and are always happy to answer, although sometimes it still occurred to me that you have a lot of work and a lot of other clients... But I have never been able to read this even between the lines of any of your messages. Our vacation was long - we spent 90 wonderful days in Marina di Ragusa, so it’s simply not possible to describe all the delights of our vacation here. During these three months, I got so used to walking early in the morning along a deserted embankment, and on the way home buying fresh buns with chocolate, eating fresh food, listening to the wonderful aroma of roses growing in the yard, buying beautiful clothes in a local gallery and bargaining at the market every Tuesday, that she had firmly decided to return next year, which she immediately joyfully informed Elena about. I came to Sicily with my seven-month-old daughter, so if anyone has everyday questions related specifically to staying with the baby, then write [email protected]. For three months, everything happened, we even had to use the services of local doctors, so I hope I can help some worried mommy. Our apartment was called Blue Sea. Good ones. Excellent location - three minutes to the sea, five minutes to the center. Three supermarkets are within a five-minute walk. Right behind the fence of the complex there is a children's playground and a square where the market takes place. Beautiful local area - well-groomed, clean, all in flowers. The beach is quite clean. Although, most likely, most people would say that it is completely clean, but I am designed in such a way that even one cigarette butt or some piece of paper within a radius of three meters is annoying. Holidays in Sicily are wonderful....

As promised, our review: We would like to thank Elena from the bottom of our hearts, who helped us organize our Sicilian vacation! We spent a wonderful two weeks in the town of Lido di Noto, living in a wonderful house with a lemon garden! The owner of Villa Corrado is a different story... A warm and hospitable man, he prepared a lot of gifts for our arrival. Thank you for the flowers, sweets and wine! Of course, two weeks is not enough for Sicily, but we tried to visit everything we could: Avola, Siracusa, Catania, Taormina, Palermo, Pozzallo, we even got to Corleone! Now plans for the east and south coast! Food... You can't tell, you have to try and enjoy!!! Thank you, Sicily! Once again we would like to express our gratitude to Elena, Corrado! Thank you!!! Sincerely, Tarasov family, Moscow.

Oh, what a pity that the vacation is over... But what remains is a tan, a whole suitcase of impressions and an irresistible desire to be in sunny Sicily again. We vacationed in July in the south of the island, not far from Pozzallo. We were looking for a house/apartment that could comfortably accommodate four people (my husband and I and two rather large children). As usual, I went searching on the Internet. And what luck that I ended up on the siciliadom website! Lena turned out to be a lifesaver when planning the trip: she selected a suitable accommodation option (answering a thousand tricky questions during the course), organized a rental car with delivery to the airport, issued an invitation for a visa, bought groceries so that on the day of arrival, having a siesta, we didn't go hungry. And everything is friendly, prompt, and no impositions - only advice and comprehensive information for making a decision. We chose Villa Daniella. And we never regretted it. A very cozy, pleasant “country” house to live in. Two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, toilet/shower and 2 verandas (one from the backyard with a summer kitchen and a view of a small cozy garden with a lawn, huge olive and lemon trees), and the other with a sofa and garden furniture overlooking a fenced area with figs and plums and pleased with the view of the sea and the wonderful and surprisingly affectionate dog Mara, guarding the above-mentioned figs and plums). The kitchen has everything, including a washing machine (and what you don’t have, you can ask the owners, and they will bring everything :-)). There are air conditioners in the bedrooms. And a pleasant surprise for Sicily - there is wi-fi! But we traveled such a distance for the sake of the sea and the beach, and they were magnificent! Two minutes from home. Access to the beach is through a private gate, the keys to which are given by the owner. The beach is endless and very clean, the sand is as soft as powder, the sea is warm and gentle. On our section of the beach we were almost always alone, and occasionally our Italian neighbors appeared. Such luxury at the resort! Of course, you need to understand that without a car, vacation turns into a vegetable existence along the house-beach route....

Good day everyone! My review of the wonderful Sicilian town of Pozzallo. We rested there for two weeks in the second half of June 2015. Thanks to Elena’s help, we booked a small monolocal apartment in the apartment complex. I really enjoyed the independent holiday. The advantages are the location, sea view, the beach has a blue flag, the closest accessibility to cafes, bars, restaurants, a supermarket, and a bus stop. Once a week, a market with local products comes to the central square - I highly recommend trying the ricotta calda and tomatoes! Getting to local attractions is very convenient - there is a stop nearby, the buses are comfortable, tickets can be bought directly on the bus or at a kiosk, it will be a little cheaper, I recommend taking a round-trip ticket, it’s more profitable. We went to Scicli, Modica, Noto - all the towns are beautiful, cozy, in the Baroque style. A huge number of Italian (and not only) films were shot in each of them. Modica made a special impression on me - the absence of tourists, full of local residents - children, dogs, the atmosphere of life and, strangely enough, the cinema - it seems that you are taking part in a film - everything is so authentic. You should definitely take a ride on the train; at the very top you can get off and go down on foot - through the cozy streets, stopping to have a bite of granita in a cafe. I also recommend the chocolate museum. The location of the complex is the best in the city - a little away from the center, on the first line of the sea, opposite the amphitheater where festivals, concerts, and weddings take place. All infrastructure in close proximity. Next door to the hotel there is an excellent pizzeria - when we returned from the sea, we went into the cafe, ordered food and went to change clothes, you can eat in the cafe or take it away. Food is a different story! Prices are below average, everything is incredibly delicious - fish and seafood, vegetables, pizza, Sicilian sweets, ice cream, coffee and granita. The hotel is small, family-run, everything is done by the hands of the owners. They listen to all wishes, and try to fulfill any requests immediately. Everything is clean, beautiful, cozy. Treating guests like family members. Antonio, Daniella, Edda help with everything. Our housing - monolocale - is designed for...

Elena, from the bottom of my heart I thank you for a wonderfully organized vacation! Sicily is just a fairy tale. We had a great time. The Sun and Sea apartments at Casuzze are simply stunning. Right on the seashore, 20 meters to the water. The beach is great. There are shops nearby, I was especially pleased with the fresh fish store. I also want to thank you for your patience and willingness to help. What I liked most was that when we had questions about the beach, you simply went to the place and sent photos. Also, thank you very much for your help in communicating with airport employees when searching for our luggage. I now recommend your company to everyone and we will definitely contact you again.

This was our first experience of staying in an apartment, and it exceeded all our expectations. Very convenient location, the apartments have everything you need for living, relaxing and cooking. Convenient, comfortable and beautiful. Everything is arranged for complete relaxation. Very beautiful and well-groomed territory of the residence. I hope that we will return there again. We liked everything so much that we didn’t even expect it. I was pleasantly surprised by your commitment, punctuality and care for the client, as well as the thoughtfulness of the trip in general. Each excursion was like a small journey into a completely different world. We had five such trips: the cities of Noto, Syracuse, a trip to the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento and the Scala dei Turchi coast, an excursion to the Vindicari National Park and a visit to a Sicilian winery. As a person who can be surprised by the smallest little things, I am still overwhelmed by the impressions of what I saw: ancient cities, landscapes, nature, stunning sea, air. I saw such antiquities and places that I could not even dream of. What we studied in history at school turned out to be real for me (temples, necropolises, cities, ancient theaters, caves, ancient villages and much more). As people who love good food, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the local food and wine. Everything is very fresh and amazingly tasty! I was very pleased that in October you can safely swim in the sea and sunbathe. The sun in October is very soft, not hot, there were sunny days almost our entire trip. It was very comfortable. We will definitely come to Sicily again, I have already promised my son this. Lena, I reserve the right to edit my review. If I need to add or write anything else, please let me know. I'm ready. I envy you that it is sunny and warm here, and we are preparing for winter. Thank you very much for organizing our trip. We will be “under the impression” for a long time. Everyone on VKontakte is already waiting for my photos. My son already really wants to go to Sicily, let’s hope that next fall we will be able to do it, I really want to return.

We vacationed in Sicily from July 19 to August 2, 2014 at the Villa Marina di Ragusa. A wonderful villa for a holiday with a large group. Excellent large pool, which helped us out during hot lunch hours. To relax in a villa, I consider having a car mandatory (unless you want to spend the entire vacation alone, locked in your cozy courtyard). This resort is young, in Marina di Ragusa itself, like in any resort town, except for the shallow sea with sandy beaches and several good restaurants (by the way, the best one, in our opinion, was at the nearest gas station *) there is not much to do. But this is compensated by the surrounding towns with their ancient streets, street cafes and simply amazing ice cream!!! Unfortunately, two weeks is a very short period of time to learn everything and try everything, but the “aftertaste” after Sicily was very pleasant... Many thanks to Elena for organizing our vacation. If we choose our next holiday destination again on this beautiful island, we will definitely contact you, and we will also recommend you to our friends. *we are talking about the La Falena restaurant, right at the entrance to Marina di Ragusa from Donnalucata, next to the gas station. Siciliadom supports Vitaly’s opinion; the restaurant is indeed one of the best in the resort.

My wife and daughter (4 years old) liked both the vacation itself and the preliminary organizational process. In fact, we had personal service from a person who has first-hand knowledge of all issues and is responsible for what he says and does. This is a completely different level than in travel agencies. There is no feeling that you are an ongoing client who needs to sell, and after payment you are no longer interested in anything. We received answers to all our questions before/during our vacation. The most important thing is that they helped us decide on a specific location that suited our requirements: a sandy beach, a long, comfortable entry into the sea, not many people, and not far from a large (by local standards) city. Those. there is no connection to specific resorts/hotels that need to be “sold out”. And with many other questions: where to go to the pebble beach to collect pebbles, where to shop, and many, many other private moments and little things that are so important in a foreign country if you are not an all-inclusive fan. For example, we were advised to fly through Malta, we saw this country additionally, took a ferry to Sicily, which is interesting in itself, and also saved on air travel. The transfer from the port to the villa was organized at a very pleasant level. As for the accommodation, it was 90% as expected. The only recommendation I can give is to prepare and plan everything in advance, then you will have time to look at the photos in detail and choose an option that 100% meets your expectations. In any case, the space/area of accommodation and the absence of neighbors does not even make sense to compare with a hotel. With help in organizing meals (we don’t like to cook on vacation), there were no problems. There are cars for rent without a deposit frozen on the card, but we booked them in advance through rentalcars. So I wholeheartedly recommend, at a minimum, to try a non-hotel holiday in Sicily through the company siciliadom. Sincerely, tanned, rested and happy Vladimir.

Our family managed to plan and successfully realize our desire to explore the Italian island (Sicilia) in the slowly passing year of 2014. I’ll say in advance that all of the 8 people in our company (including J’s 2-year-old daughter) have only a positive overall impression of the time spent!!! It was for this reason that the trip had to be organized back in October 2013. But what can you do - good places are quickly taken away. Europeans know a lot about this, and we are not blind to it either. The choice fell on Villa Salvatore, and at the end of July - beginning of August, prices for early booking are lower, and the weather is the most suitable for a family holiday. Despite the complete lack of linguistic training (English is not held in high esteem in the outback of the island and among ordinary Italian people, and, to be honest, not in all restaurants), not a single situation arose during the trip that in any way spoiled the mood. Much of the credit for this, of course, belongs to Elena. The full support organized for her before the start of the trip, during it and even after it initially created a comfortable atmosphere of relaxation. It’s a pity that in 10 days it was not possible to take advantage of all the opportunities offered... But this can easily be eliminated in the future. The main thing is that with confidence and based on my experience, emotions and impressions received, I can say: “Sicily is really cool!” I'll be happy to repeat it again...

My family and I vacationed in Sicily from September 7 to 20, 2014, using Elena’s services and never regretting it! What can we say about vacation, for me this was the very first trip to another country, a lot of impressions! We rented a house right by the sea, all we had to do was cross the road, it was very convenient! We were met, shown to supermarkets, told about food and wine, and then escorted to the house, very nice! We also went on an excursion, where we were able to taste excellent wine, as well as get to know its production and a very friendly family! I would like to say a huge thank you to Elena for her help, the house itself was extremely comfortable, atmospheric, and the willingness to help during the entire trip, and interesting excursions - there are simply no words! Thank you!:)

This was our first trip to Italy, and I am very glad that siciliadom helped me plan this trip. We spent 10 days in Pozzallo, at the end of June. Wonderful apartments, occupying the entire top floor of the house (apartamenti rizza), everything is clean, new and modern, there are all the necessary utensils, even a grill pan, on which they cooked the freshest tuna bought at the nearest fish shop. The main decoration is a huge terrace overlooking the sea. Upon returning home, for several days I could not get used to the fact that I no longer heard the sound of the waves. Pozzallo is a typical southern city, noisy, cheerful, life is in full swing until late at night, and we also attended a week-long celebration in honor of the saint - the protector of the city, which ended with a grandiose night fireworks display. The apartments are not located in the very center, but there is everything you need nearby - a fish and vegetable shop, a supermarket, a bakery; It's about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace to the center, where the most delicious gelaterias, pastry shops and fish restaurants are located. The beach is a stone's throw away - a bay with a smooth sandy sunset. Elena helped with renting a car, at a reasonable price and without blocking funds on a credit card, as well as with transfer to the airport - everything was on time, with punctuality atypical for Italians :))) Special thanks to Lena for her willingness to answer all questions and help in any way time! It’s just a pity that we weren’t able to meet and get to know each other in person, maybe next time? I dream of coming back and definitely going on your culinary tour! Kristina, Alexey and Robert, Riga

Dear Elena! We would like to express our deep gratitude to you for an unforgettable, magical holiday at the beautiful Villa Donnalucata. This was our first independent (without a tour operator) trip. We saw the villa only in the photo. There were some doubts: will everything go well? But when you met us and we headed to our place of residence, we began to understand that everything would be fine. The driver Giuseppe, who drove us from the airport, gave us an excellent tour, many thanks to him. It was fun and “cool”. Well, then everything gets steeper and cooler... The villa is gorgeous! Light! Huge! We were worried about where to park the car, but there are spaces for eight cars :-) There is an excellent view from the windows, or rather from the panoramic doors. Comfortable sofas, wide beds, a toilet with a shower in each room, air conditioning, a huge kitchen with everything you need, what more do you need? Sitting on the terrace overlooking your own beach and looking at the sea, you really feel like a “mafioso on vacation:-):-):-)”. The town is quiet. People treated us like the best guests!!! In general, we visited paradise :-) Thank you very much! We advise our friends to relax only with you. Thanks again! See you next time:-):-):-)

In June 2014, our whole family vacationed on the island. Sicily without a tour operator (which was the first time in my experience). I had to re-read many sites on the Internet, and one of them attracted my attention due to the accessibility and sincerity of the services offered, from apartment rentals to excursions (www.site). This is how I met Elena. We rested in the quiet and beautiful place of Martsamemi. The wonderful and interesting excursions that Lena gave us brought only pleasant emotions to the whole family. When we needed help or advice, Lena was always in touch with us and always helped. I would like to say a big thank you to Elena and her team for a wonderful vacation in a magnificent country! We wish you further success! See you soon! Grazie!:)

Hello, Elena! Sorry for being late in fulfilling my promise. I allow text correction So. We really enjoyed our holiday in Sicily in the town of Pozzallo. the town really turned out to be typical Sicilian. In short: Wonderful apartments, gorgeous beaches, infrastructure within walking distance (grocery stores, promenade, restaurants). If we give details, then: The shops were not found right away; it was difficult to navigate the layout of the city. but after Elena explained everything to us (for which special thanks to her!) everything became very easy and accessible. I was struck by the contrast between August and September. For those who choose the time of travel, this will be important. In August, Pozzallo is a city bustling with life. Lots of shops, crowds of people, many restaurants, the beach is bustling with life. Walking in the evening is very pleasant and fun; there is a lot of entertainment on the promenade, including for children, and many shopping stalls. So it was on August 30 and 31 (these days we arrived), but on September 1, suddenly everyone disappeared. There was no one left: no people, no tents and not half the restaurants. The children's carousels also left, which made us very sad. The city began to fall into hibernation. Only a few Russians remained among the vacationers. Knowing this feature, you need to plan your rest time in advance. The second feature that struck us (apparently a universal Italian one) is the siesta, to which we need to adapt, and Sunday, when nothing works at all, and which often flows into Monday. The town itself is not bad, convenient, all the roads are nearby, along which you can conveniently and easily reach the main cities - the pearls of Sicily. There are a lot of them. And one is more beautiful than the other. They are worth seeing. Of course, it is worth renting a car to be free to travel. In our situation (with a small child), we did not plan to have a car, since we wanted to have a purely beach vacation. But they couldn’t resist and did the right thing. In general, you can get by without a car in this place. Everything you need is there: beautiful beaches, clear water, excellent apartments...

Hello! We spent an unforgettable, full of pleasant impressions, three weeks in October at Villa Salvatore. The villa is small but functionally designed and can comfortably accommodate four adults and two children. The villa is located 500 meters from the coast of Marina di Ragusa and 1 kilometer from the central square of the town. Everything is within walking distance, beaches, supermarkets, boutiques, fish trattorias. On the territory of the villa there is a beautiful illuminated swimming pool. There is also everything you need for a comfortable stay, including beach umbrellas, garden swings and sun loungers. The only negative for us was the battered bed linen and towels; we bought everything else on the spot. There is TV, although there are no Russian channels, but there is stable WiFi. The sea is clean, the beaches are sandy, the entrance to the sea is gentle and shallow, ideal for children. In our opinion, Marina di Ragusa is very advantageously located in terms of car accessibility to the main attractions of the southeast and south of the island. Within a radius of 15-30 km. from Marina di Ragusa there are several beautiful towns with unique Sicilian architecture. Many thanks to Elena for organizing our holiday and independent excursions, for her help in renting a car and meeting and seeing off at the airport! Elena constantly supervised us, was always in touch and we did not feel like lost tourists. With gratitude and respect, and see you again! Anna and Yuri, Moscow.

We visited Sicily this summer from June 7th to 21st. We were in the town of Marina di Ragusa, not far from Ragusa. We rented a wonderful Oasis villa with a swimming pool and tennis court. Unfortunately, not all of our friends were able to go, and there were only 2 families with children under 6 years old. Accordingly, 6 people in total. What can I say – we were simply lost in the vastness of this villa. We still didn’t understand how many people it was designed for, but for example, 4 families fit in there easily and comfortably. The only thing you need to consider when staying in this villa is the presence of a car, because... You can't get anywhere from there on foot. But within a radius of 5-6 km there is everything you want - the coast, grocery supermarkets, etc. and so on. The prices are very reasonable, especially at the weekly market. The sea is quite warm, the beaches are gorgeous and free. Expanse for children. Very beautiful architecture and general “civilization” in the nearest towns - Ragusa, Modica. A little further away is Syracuse. In general, we really liked everything, it was great. If you don’t pretend to have the polished shine of artificial Turkish chic, but rather accept the honest hospitality of the slightly imposing and dusty Sicilians, then consider the optimal route here too!

Sicily is an autonomous region of Italy, which includes the territory of the island of the same name and several small archipelagos. It is washed by the waves of three seas - the Mediterranean, the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian. The rich history of the region, mild climate and warm sea attract tourists from all over the world. None of them will remain indifferent to the magnificent Sicilian beaches.

In this article you will find out where is the best place to relax in Sicily, which beaches to visit and how to have fun there.

The best beaches and their photos

Mondello Beach

This beach is located in the district of the same name in the capital of Sicily. You can get there by bus number 806, departing from Palermo Central Station. The fare will be about 1 euro.

A hundred years ago, on the site of a fashionable suburb there was a small fishing village surrounded by swamps. At the beginning of the 20th century, with the money of the local aristocracy, drainage measures were carried out and a public beach was built. Around him luxury villas grew quickly wealthy residents of Palermo.

Mondello today is a two-kilometer strip, one of the best sandy beaches in Sicily, protected by the cliffs of Monte Pellegrimo and Monte Gallo from the strong waves of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The recreation area offers rental of boats and other recreational equipment. Renting two sun loungers and an umbrella will cost a tourist about 20 euros.

There are many restaurants and bars in the central square of the resort. The main attraction of Mondello is the open-air cinema Arena La Sirenetta.

Finding accommodation within walking distance of Mondello beach will not be difficult. There are many hotels and apartments in the area, for example:

  • Mondello Palace 4*;
  • Casa Vacanza Lunastella;
  • Nice Apartments Next To The Sea.

Small The white sand of San Vito Beach is popular with both locals and foreign tourists. The absence of underwater currents and a smooth descent into the water attracts families with children.

There is everything you need for a comfortable holiday on the sea of Sicily: bar, restaurant, rental of sun loungers and umbrellas. According to various rating studies, this resort consistently becomes the best in Italy.

Not far from the beach mountain reserve Zingaro (Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro), symbolized by dwarf palm trees. You can visit it either on your own, purchasing an entrance ticket for 3 euros, or with a tour group. You can pay for the guide's services at the tourist information points located on Via Savoia. Their cost is approximately 10 euros.

Picturesque rocky beaches of the reserve attract not only those who like to swim alone, but also scuba divers. The fauna of local reefs is very diverse.

When visiting Zingaro, you need to take water and snacks with you, as there are no shops in the reserve. If desired, you can rent bicycles in the city.

Within walking distance from this beach is a large number of hotels. Let's list some of them:

  • Hotel Riva Del Sole;
  • Hotel Sabbia d'Oro;
  • Camping Village El-Bahira.

Cefalu

This resort is located 75 km from the capital of Sicily. Trains from Naples and Palermo pass through the city.

Most of the beach is sandy, but there are also areas covered with pebbles. In its urban part, the infrastructure is very developed. Here you can dine on freshly caught fish and rent everything you need for your vacation. Outside the city limits, the benefits of civilization are practically absent. There are no noisy crowds of tourists here either.

Cefalo famous for its healing hot springs, whose first visitors were the Roman emperors. Thermal water is used to make cosmetics. You can buy them in numerous shops in the city.

The iconic landmark of the city is Cathedral of the Transfiguration, built in 1145 by King Roger II in honor of his rescue during a strong storm.

Many vacationers enjoy doing climbing to the top of Mount Kefale, where the ruins of a Greek fortress are preserved. During the holiday season, the town hosts various festivals. The most famous of them is the couscous festival, held in September every year.

Mazzaro (Via Nazionale, Mazzaro, Taormina)

The pebble beach of Mazzaro is located on the outskirts of Taormina. Get here from the city center you can take bus number 22 or in a cable car cabin.

The depth of the sea on this beach allows both tourists with children and scuba diving fans to relax comfortably. Rich underwater world will bring unforgettable pleasure even to an experienced diver.

The only negative of this picturesque place is lack of beach equipment rentals. There are no showers here either. But you can get a sunbed and umbrella for free when you order lunch or dinner at the coastal restaurant Lido La Pigna. For a fee, its owners provide vacationers with catamarans and boats, and also organize water skiing and banana boat rides.

Holidays in Italy are becoming increasingly popular among tourists from Russia. One of the universal holiday destinations in this country is the island of Sicily. Here everyone will find entertainment to their liking, because there are all the conditions for this: luxurious beaches, cultural sites and historical monuments, developed tourist infrastructure. Your holiday in Sicily will definitely be memorable!

The largest island

Sicily is washed by three seas at once: the Mediterranean, the Tyrrhenian and the Ionian. The island is located near the tip of the “Italian boot”. Today it is the largest in the Mediterranean and densely populated. The historical name of the island is Trinacria; in different eras it belonged to Byzantium, the Roman Empire, Spain and other states. For some time Sicily was completely autonomous, but then became part of Italy. Thanks to such a rich history, today the island is home to a huge number of monuments made by masters of different cultures and eras, with striking differences in technique and styles of execution. The holiday season here lasts from May to early November. A small number of tourists also come in the winter months to explore historical and architectural monuments. Holidays in Sicily are good at any time of the year due to the mild climate. Beautiful scenery, a unique atmosphere and unusual local cuisine are pleasant additions.

When to go on vacation?

In Sicily, the climate is mild, its main feature is the difference in temperatures on the coast and in the central part. It rains here very rarely, sometimes it doesn’t happen for months. Due to the proximity of the sea, even in the interior of the island it is not too hot and dry. Holidays in Sicily in September are a popular offer from many tour operators. And this is not surprising, because the official tourist season continues throughout October, and sometimes extends into the next month. The average air temperature for the first autumn month is +28 degrees; in winter the thermometer rarely drops below +10. Experienced travelers advise choosing the period from mid-spring to mid-summer to combine an excursion program and a beach holiday. In autumn, most visitors try to spend most of their time on the coast. This is also a good time for sightseeing.

Sicily: beach holidays

Like many other Italian resorts, the beaches in Sicily delight vacationers with predominantly white or grayish sand. There are always a lot of tourists on the island who want to immerse themselves in its atmosphere, exploring natural and architectural monuments, meeting local residents and having plenty of rest. Our topic is: can they all be good, or are there exceptions?

Brief description of famous coasts

Sicily is a region in Italy whose administrative center is the city of Palermo. Most often, local residents and tourists visit the southern beaches of the region or those located in the southeast. They are considered to be the best for relaxation.

Almost the entire coastline has free access for travelers. The only service that may require an additional fee is the rental of sun loungers and umbrellas. There are a lot of beaches in Sicily, and each of them deserves attention due to its individual characteristics.

  • Fontane Bianche - white sand and a bewitching landscape are perhaps the only significant advantages. The resort is quite small in area, and during the season it is occupied by nearby hotels with their sunbeds, so not everyone is destined to admire the local beauty.
  • The beaches of the city of Syracuse are not the best option for tourists, since there is simply nowhere to swim.
  • Lido di Noto deserves inclusion in the list called “good beaches of Sicily”: long, with developed infrastructure, the possibility of a promenade and places to eat. Ideal for families with children.
  • Marzamemi is a small fishing village and is very loved by local residents, because it has almost everything for a good holiday. In particular, a convenient, equipped beach and stunning scenery. One minus - there are a lot of people during the season.
  • San Lorenzo - clean sand, clear emerald water and a protected area nearby make the beach well worth visiting.
  • Santa Maria del Focallo - it is worth considering for parents with children, as there is a smooth and convenient entrance to the sea, naturally formed dunes, fine clean sand and warm water.
  • Cala Mosque is a beautiful bay for a great holiday.
  • Carratois is considered a prestigious beach, so most often you can meet the Italian elite here. It is famous for its white healing clay, for which many people come here.
  • Portopalo di Capassero is a small beach where divers most often visit: the clear water offers views of beautiful corals and small fish.
  • Isola delle Correnti - this beach is ideal for windsurfing due to its large waves.
  • Pozzallo - in this town the beaches also boast golden sand, developed infrastructure and picturesque cliffs. This place is also often chosen for photo shoots.
  • Marina di Modica - the city is characterized by the presence of sandy and rocky beaches, so you can choose the desired type of holiday: diving or swimming.
  • Sampieri - its length is about 3 km. Overall a small but nice beach.
  • Marina di Ragusa has a clean, well-kept coastline with the ability to rent almost any beach equipment.
  • Punta Secca is today a small but cozy resort.
  • Kazutsey - wild sandy beaches where you can relax in solitude.
  • Giardini Naxos - the coastline is quite large, there are both paid and free areas strewn with sand or pebbles.
  • Taormina is a pebbly beach with a small area, but very beautiful - a paradise for an esthete.
  • La Playa is a large port city (Catania), where it is simply impossible to find a clean beach with clear water. But there is La Playa, located outside of it, which is good for relaxation.
  • San Vito - it is also not for nothing that it is included in the list of “good beaches in Sicily”, since it is one of the most beautiful.
  • Castellammare del Golfo has a long coastline with developed infrastructure, which, among other things, has a convenient location.
  • Mondello is a beautiful, but always crowded beach.
  • Cefalu is a colorful city with interesting sights, which offers tourists good and uncrowded beaches located on the outskirts.
  • Trapani is not the best option, as the coast is dirty and littered with rocks.
