Second day in this hotel. In general, the territory is large and well-groomed. Very beautiful - beach, ocean, nature ... The staff is friendly. Our Junior Suite Deluxe Ocean Front Club Premium is a high-class room on the first coastline with ocean views! All this sounds loud, but in fact, the room is quite worn out and not very clean. In a room of this class, there were no beach towels (they are not given out on the beach, but they are changed), no slippers, one of the bathrobes was missing a belt. The next day, with a tip left, the maid cleaned for 15 minutes without replenishing the toiletries. The bar was also not replenished.

Rested in the period from December 18 to January 1, 2015-2016. We went to the Dominican Republic for the second time. The trip was timed to the anniversary of the wife, celebrated 50 years. Upon check-in, they noted that we wanted a room in building number 2, without any questions they went to meet us. In general, the Barcelo Bavaro hotel left behind only positive emotions, there is nothing to complain about. The staff works conscientiously, all without exception. The territory of the hotel is huge, green, magnificent, maintained in perfect cleanliness. The beach is immaculate, clean and well equipped for vacationers. Food, like everything else on the level, a buffet with a wide variety of dishes. Excellent selection of seafood. In addition to the birthday, they immediately celebrated Catholic Christmas and New Year's Eve. The New Year's party was held in the style of a Latin party. The organizer seems to have managed to ignite everyone. It was very fun and heartfelt. The rest was spent in the highest class, we will definitely return to Barcelo Bavaro.

An excellent hotel for an unforgettable stay. Went as a couple, me and my husband. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were treated to a cocktail, check-in to the room took 15 minutes. We got a room on the first floor, clean and spacious, the mini-bar was replenished daily. The food at the hotel is chic, the products are fresh and not the cheapest. For breakfast, a wide variety of drinks, coffee, tea, juices, champagne, even vodka with tomato juice, in case anyone needs to improve their health. From food sausages, cheeses, sausages, bacon and many, many things. You leave breakfast with such a full belly, like after dinner! For lunch, even more goodies can not be counted. Dinner in the same vein, especially memorable: filet mignon, lobster and ribeye steak. Taste, quality of food, service - like in a restaurant. Nature, the beach is awesome (there was no algae). The ocean is warm and clear. On the territory and in the hotel there is everything for a quality and wonderful pastime. Gourmets will be especially pleased.

The Barcelo Bavaro hotel was chosen for a honeymoon trip, we went in September 2015. The hotel was recommended by friends, decided to listen. As soon as we got to our room, we realized that we were in paradise. The territory is beautiful, green, well-groomed, tame peacocks roam freely. You can talk endlessly about the food in this hotel, varied, very tasty, everything is fresh, we tried a lot of things for the first time. Meat, fish, seafood in assortment, juices, cocktails, fruits, sweets, cakes, croissants - a complete abundance. There is no better food than in the Dominican Republic! The rooms are large, clean, the bar is replenished, almost twice a day, and the best part is all inclusive. Waiters and staff are friendly. During the day, various games and competitions are organized on the beach, in the evenings there are performances and shows. Just class! The beach is clean, the water is clear, the white sand does not heat up, by the way, a feature of the Dominican Republic, there are always free sun loungers, everything is quiet and calm. You can sit by the pool, where pleasant and different music plays all the time. The weather is comfortable, the air temperature during the day and at night is +30. I highly recommend! To say that we had a great holiday is an understatement. Paradise on earth.

Tourists go to a beach resort for the sake of the beach and the ocean (your captain is obvious). But the fact is that it is in Barcelo Bavaro Beach that the ocean is not suitable for swimming for half a day. The reason for this is Sargas algae. They are hard, prickly, rust-colored. And now, for half a day after lunch, they cover all the water from the sand itself by 10-15 meters to the buoys. That is, swimming at this time will not work in any way. Sometimes this happens in the morning - and then the whole day down the drain (see photo).

The second point: Barceló strongly dislikes Russians (more precisely, all guests from the former republics of the USSR, whom the locals do not distinguish). Russians are considered uneducated, unfriendly and drunken alcoholics here (one of the hotel employees with whom we had a heart-to-heart confessed in a frank conversation). And that is why they treat Russians and other Russian-speakers as third-class people. It was not easy for me and my husband to resist this stereotype, although I am a translator, and my husband does not drink any alcohol. And only after long conversations with the hotel staff, only after long conversations and explanations, we managed to achieve a normal relationship, we were met halfway and even apologized. But in general, guests from the CIS are not welcome here.

Third moment. Drunk, screaming Spaniards who just turned 18. Never in my life did I think that Spaniards could be like that. And in the same way, I didn’t think that in the adults only hotel, instead of the desired silence and tranquility, there would be eternally drinking and screaming teenagers who only got drunk on alcohol and decided to break away to the fullest. The hotel pool is occupied by drunk Spaniards throughout the day. Not drunk, not drunk, not tipsy, but very drunk, very noisy, inappropriately behaving. They drink non-stop all day, practically without leaving the pool (it is unlikely that in this state they go to the toilet behind the bar). As a result, for the entire period of our stay at the hotel, we never swam in the pool for this very reason. In general, if you are looking for peace and quiet, like us, then you need to choose the hotel's golf building, and not adults only.

Now more about the negative: only facts, no emotions.
1. Clients of Russian-speaking operators are immediately settled in the wrong rooms that were booked when paying for the tour (we were automatically settled in a twin room with two separate beds on our wedding anniversary, then the room was changed to a room overlooking the construction site, then they tried to move us into a room by the pool with crowd of people, and only after long trials they gave a normal room in a normal building).

2. They immediately try to settle Russians in the worst buildings: N 4 (construction and eternal shade and dampness), N 1 (by the pool, where it’s just hell: drunk Spaniards yell around the clock) and the hit of the season and the Russian reservation - building 5 (all rooms either overlooking the roadway or the kitchen wall). If you are offered case 5 - immediately refuse, only after hearing this figure. The best building in the hotel - 2, also, in principle, normal - 3. We eventually settled in the third.

3. In a la carte restaurants (by reservation), Russians are offered the worst tables. Everything is simpler here: you just need to ask to transfer or transfer yourself if the hostess rests (everything that is better is kept for the Spaniards and Canadians with the Americans).

4. When we decided to have breakfast in a quiet and respectable restaurant near the Hoyo 19 golf course (because our buffet was always crowded, noisy and hot), we also encountered an unpleasant attitude towards Russians. Although we were very friendly, we said hello to the staff, quietly took a table, smiled at the waiters and were welcoming ... when I started to order in Spanish (breakfast there is partially a la carte), at that moment a Spaniard family entered. And my waitress, with whom I spoke at that moment, just turned around and went to these Spaniards who had come. Right while talking to me. She writhed around the Spaniards, sang, joked with them, was hypertrophied helpful, but forgot about us and did not come up anymore. Someone will say that it’s a trifle, but there were 10 such unpleasant trifles per day. Later, another waiter came to us and confused the order three times and brought the wrong thing (and the Spaniards who came after us were served by several waiters at once and ate what they asked for a long time). After that, I went to Public Relations, where we talked about how ugly to behave with Russian guests in this way, that we are exactly the same customers as guests of other nationalities. In the PR service, the conversation took such a turn that I had to voice the difficulties we faced from the very first day, and ask them to try to solve the problem of double standards against Russians. We must pay tribute that we eventually apologized for everything. And when we returned to the room in the evening, we found gifts in the form of a bottle of champagne, handmade chocolates, a bottle of rum and even a birthday cake. And a heartfelt letter from the public relations staff. Although I didn’t even hint about anything like this when talking with the PR service. And on the day of departure, we made a late check-out, extending the room until the evening. And when I got the money to pay for this late check-out, and the hotel employee almost took it, the general manager approached me and told him to extend us for free. It was nice.

5. Nutrition. The buffet restaurant is very hot even though it is outdoors (covered veranda). The food is average, closer to bad, not 5 stars at all. The restaurant is dirty. In the glazed part of the restaurant, closer to the ocean, there are healthy lifestyle and dietary dishes. Periodically arrange days of national cuisine of different countries (I really liked the day of Mexico). Desserts tasteless and inedible. There are few fruits, but very tasty melons and mangoes. Of the A la Carte restaurants, I liked it the most in terms of cuisine (amazingly delicious Chateaubriand steak) and Chez Gourmet entourage (dress code, open only for dinner). All the rest seemed worse, some (fish, for example) - very bad.
