What's interesting in the new light. New World: sights and interesting places (with photos). Travel to Mount Sokol

Cape Kapchik is a unique place that attracts people with completely different interests and hobbies.

Geologists are drawn here by the fact that this cape is nothing more than an ancient coral reef, which is riddled with endless paths of underground caves and grottoes. In the darkness of this underground palace there is also a salt lake.

Romantics looking for beautiful places for inspiration or peace are drawn here by the beauty of the place. Approaching the cape, one cannot help but notice its unique shape, which resembles a dragon. Having climbed onto that monster, you can endlessly admire the surface of the water of the Blue Bay and the concern of the Blue Bay. For this purpose, an observation deck is equipped here.

Even linguists will find something interesting, for example, in the name of the cape, which means “pouch” in Turkic. The presence of caves and grottoes is one of the versions of the appearance of this name.

But the most interesting place that attracts treasure hunters and historians here is the through grotto. It is surrounded by many legends, according to which it was here that pirates hid their loot and held secret meetings. Prince Golitsyn, having reached this grotto, ennobled it: stairs, forged doors and stained glass windows appeared - the grotto turned into a luxurious banquet hall for celebrating Golitsyn's anniversary. Now, unfortunately, it is impossible to get into the grotto due to the danger of collapses.

Cape Kapchik is an interesting natural phenomenon, the attractiveness of which has also been contributed to by humans.

Royal Beach

Located between Mount Karaul-Oba and Cape Kapchik, not far from the famous village of "New World", Blue Bay, also proudly called the "Tsar's Beach", is an absolute masterpiece of nature and a landscape of fantastic beauty. The bay got its name for the special, amazingly beautiful color of the water caused by the shale rocks lining the bottom of the bay. However, to understand the meaning of this name, it is not at all necessary to know about the geological composition of the bottom; it is enough just to see at least once the leisurely swaying of the waves on the shore of the bay.

This place is called the Tsar’s Beach because in 1912 Russian Emperor Nicholas II vacationed here, preferring the Blue Bay to the two neighboring ones - Blue and Green, which, by the way, are also capable of capturing the imagination, although they are inferior to the famous Blue. At one time, these places were a favorite place for Turkish smugglers, and their feluccas more than once made their way into these waters under the cover of darkness. In honor of this historical fact, the neighbor of Golubaya Bay, Sinaya, is even sometimes called Razboinichaya.

The beauty of these places also attracted film directors. It is the local landscapes that can be admired in such famous films as “Sportloto-82”, “Pirates of the 20th Century”, “Three Plus Two” and “Amphibian Man”. It’s safe to say that not visiting Tsarsky Beach means not seeing one of the most luxurious pearls of Crimea.

Museum of Champagne Wines of Prince Golitsyn

At the Novy Svet resort, Prince Golitsyn founded a Champagne factory on his estate. This place is notable for its picturesque views of the sea and juniper and coniferous forests.

The plant's products are famous in many cities; everything around is conducive to winemaking, and the wine is made according to traditional recipes.

Already in 1890, the champagne of the Golitsyn plant received the Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Paris. After this, Crimea took its rightful place in the world market for the sale of champagne and wine products. Now it is the main attraction of the New World.

The resort village of Novy Svet is located on the shore of one of the most picturesque bays in the south-eastern part of Crimea, surrounded by mountains and pine groves. Novosvet beaches are famous for their crystal clear water and magnificent views. In the vicinity of the village there are three spacious beaches, and in numerous coves there are many small “pocket” beaches hidden, perfect for a secluded holiday.

The main Novy Svetsky beach, the largest and most comfortable, is located on the shore of the emerald Green Bay. The water here warms up quickly, thanks to the gentle shallow descent of the shoreline. The seabed is flat, sandy, there are practically no large stones, so the beach is simply ideal for a family holiday with children. As for entertainment, there is a great variety of it on the main Novy Svetsky beach. Vacationers can use a water scooter, a banana boat, surfboards or scuba gear. By the way, divers have the opportunity not only to admire sea fish, but also to examine the wreckage of a sunken ancient Greek sailing ship.

To the west of Green Bay there is the beach of Blue Bay, which is also called Razboinichaya. Legend says that it was in this place that pirates stopped and hid their looted valuables. If, having passed this beach, you move further, you can find yourself on the famous Tsarskoye Beach on the shores of the Blue Bay. It became famous because it was here that Emperor Nicholas II once rested with his family during a visit to Crimea.

The museum is located at: urban settlement Novy Svet, st. Shalyapina, 11.
Opening hours: from 9.00 to 18.00 (operating hours may vary depending on the season)

For tasting

After you get a full understanding of the history of the plant, the extraordinary personality of Prince Golitsin and the cultivation of grapes in Crimea, it’s time to go on one of the wine tours to the plant itself, located nearby at Shalyapina, 1.

The cost of visiting depends on the chosen program and excursion wine tour; for exact information, see the official website of the museum: nsvet-crimea.ru .

Out of season, you should definitely call before your arrival to find out if the tour will be available and when. Well, during the season it’s sold out, so you can go with confidence.

Tour price starts from 400 rubles . There is also a company store where you can purchase the plant’s products at the most affordable prices.

I especially recommend doing this after tasting. Then you will definitely be sure that you did not make a mistake with your choice.

But we’ll talk about wine tours separately in more detail next time.

Churches in the New World

Church of St. Bows - erected in modern times, at the numerous requests of residents.

Previously, the church was located in one of the buildings of a champagne wine factory, and then, in 2006, the church of St. Luke Krymsky. The consecration of the new church took place only in 2012.

The temple contains an icon of St. Luke with a piece of relics, unique icon “The Last Supper” from the collection of Golitsyn’s own home church, bequeathed to the temple by his great-granddaughter.

Address: urban settlement Novy Svet, st. Golitsyna, 18.

Historical monuments of the resort

Historical monuments of the New World include:

Golitsyn's Grotto

A structure in the rock used by the prince as a wine storage. They say that in ancient times there were cave temples or monasteries here.

Well, in the time of the prince, the best varieties of intoxicating drink were stored here, a respectable audience gathered, for which Chaliapin himself sang. Therefore, sometimes this grotto is also called Chaliapinsky.

To get to the grotto, you need to follow another historical landmark - the path of Prince Golitsyn.

Golitsyn trail

This wonderful route, carved out on the rocky slopes of Eagle Mountain by order of the prince, for the arrival of Tsar Nicholas II, belongs to the protected areas of the New World.

The walk, more than 5 km long, passes both over rocky cliffs and through a juniper grove. Along the way you will come across natural attractions, which I will write about below.

Entrance to the trail is free. But you can join excursion groups that form on the New World embankment.

The New World Nature Reserve is open to the public from 8.00 to 20.00

Parks in the New World

The village itself is surrounded by incredible landscapes - a combination of mountain landscapes with relict vegetation that fills everything around.

Despite this, in the very center of the village there is a city park for recreation and walking. It is equipped with neat paths, comfortable benches under spreading trees, and lanterns.

Entertainment for children

For children in the New World, apart from the joys of the beach - inflatable towns, water slides, banana rides and other relevant attractions, there is no entertainment.

Excursions and explorations of the surrounding area

But here tourists have a place to turn around! Natural attractions are found at every step. True, this will require a lot of walking and you may need a detailed map or navigator:

Excursion or hiking to Mount Karaul-Oba

A former coral reef, about which there are legends and historical facts. Taurian tribes once lived here and fortifications were built Bosporan Kingdom .

When traveling to the top, you can choose one of two routes.

The first one will take you to these places: "staircase of brands" – hidden rock steps, more than 2500 years old, a juniper grove where thousand-year-old trees grow, "valley of paradise" , and will lead to the peak “space” and the top of the mountain.

On the second route, which is easier, you will pass through the “valley of hell”, cool off in the “refrigerator” crevice, and enjoy the view from the observation decks.

This area belongs to the reserve, there is an entrance fee 100 rubles .

Travel to Mount Sokol

Near the village there is another ancient reef - Mount Sokol, where both experienced climbers and active tourists love to climb; the route can be chosen according to the level of difficulty.

Here there is a spring with clean, mountain water, called the St. Anastasia.

It is near Mount Sokol that you can see "Devil's finger" - a sculpture created by nature, but, of course, has its own beautiful legend about its origin.

Exploring a unique cape

Cape Kapchik is also an ancient reef, but unlike the mountains, it extends in a narrow strip far into the sea. If you look at the cape from above, you can see the image of a dragon or lizard spreading its wings.

The cape is unique for its cave - a through eighty-meter grotto, the walls of which reach a height of 20 meters. On both sides of the cape are Blue and Golubaya bays.

Once upon a time this grotto was discovered by the same Prince Golitsyn, and even organized a holiday there in honor of his name day.

Sea and beach entertainment

In the New World you will have the opportunity to visit Tsarsky Beach, bays with the clearest water in Crimea, and remote, inaccessible wild beaches. I wrote more about him.

Boat trips along the coast are also popular; pleasure boats, comfortable yachts, and just catamarans are at your service.

Diving, kayaking and surfing flourish here. And by boat you can get to the neighboring resort - the village Marine , where V. Tsoi once vacationed with his future team, and whose residents erected a monument to the Kino group there.

Friends, this concludes our review of the main attractions of the New World.

Your vacation here will be either active, educational and with a lot of beautiful photographs, or lazy, measured, with daily visits to legendary wine cellars - the choice is yours!

Cozy New World is a small valley lost among the mountains, washed by three colorful bays. There is only one road leading here, seven kilometers of beautiful views and a very steep mountain serpentine. The small village is considered an elite resort, with corresponding prices, but here you can relax like a king.

Royal history of the New World

The New World owes its present to Prince Lev Golitsin, who was exiled to these lands. Inspired by the example of European winemakers, the prince considered the miniature valley, sandwiched on three sides by mountains and washed by the sea, a real paradise for growing a vineyard. He named his estate Paradise.

The enterprising prince planted vineyards on fertile soil, founded a champagne wine factory and ordered a bottle storage facility to be built in Mount Koba-Kaya, a wine library to be built in the grotto, and a path along the sea to be built for walks. He erected an estate in the center of the future village.

The area was very beautiful, the land was fertile, but there was one problem in Paradise - the lack of water. The prince tried to solve this issue by installing a water supply from the source of St. Anastasia, located on Mount Sokol. The remains of the ancient aqueduct can still be seen today, but this project was unsuccessful.

The fame of the new fashionable resort, evening concerts in the grotto with wine tastings, spread throughout the country. Nobles came to visit Golitsyn; Chaliapin himself once sang in the grotto, later named in his honor. But the most famous guest was the autocrat Nicholas II. The tsar toured the estates of the disgraced prince-winemaker, tasted the products, swam in a distant bay and was very pleased. The village was renamed New World in honor of the visit of the august person.

Sights of the New World

The miniature village is simply overflowing with places attractive to tourists.

Main attractions of the New World:

  1. Lev Golitsyn's estate and museum.
  2. Factory of champagne wines "New World".
  3. Pedestrian Path Golitsyn.
  4. Monument to Prince Golitsyn and Tsar Nicholas II.

This is a basic list of man-made attractions, but when choosing what to see in the New World, consider its natural beauty. The resort is generously endowed with subtropical vegetation, which has taken root well in the mild climate of the wind-protected valley. The mountains became the defenders of the village:

  • Karaul-Oba;
  • Koba-Kaya (Eagle);
  • Kush-Kaya (Falcon).

Trio of colorful bays

Three bays: Green, Blue and Blue - these are the most beautiful places in the New World.

Green Bay– the widest, there is a city equipped beach with sun loungers. The beach offers views of capes Alchak and Meganom. And in the evening, from the pier near which the pleasure pirate schooner spends the night, the lights of neighboring Sudak are visible. The beautiful embankment of the New World is an attraction and entertainment in itself. The resort life of the village is in full swing here.

Blue Bay, once a haven for robbers and smugglers, is a narrow rocky beach under the Golitsyn Path, closed by Cape Kapchik. It’s nice to sit on the coastal strip in the evening, accompanied by a bottle of Crimean champagne, and look at the sea.

Blue Bay, in the waters of which the majestic Karaul-Oba and the side of Kapchik are reflected, known from films. Eremenko Jr. himself dived from a small rock called Turtle. The Tsar's Beach was a forbidden place for tourists; to get there you can walk along the paths of the Juniper Grove and go down the cliff. Or just come by boat.

After relaxing on the beach and tasting champagne, you can explore in more detail the other attractions of the New World and the surrounding area. For example, you can take a walk in the park or go to Sudak, stroll along the Golitsyn Trail or walk along the highway to the filming location of the film “Three Plus Two”.

Reviews

I love Crimea! I’ve been to all its amazing corners, but most of all the New World has sunk into my soul! I have so many memories associated with it. Very often I remember a walk along the Golitsyn trail. The views there are unreal, it’s a pity that it wasn’t there back then in 2010 more smartphones. What kind of “selfies” would they be?

    Answer

I adore the New World! In 2009 and 2010, my husband and I were lucky enough to visit there. We were on vacation in Feodossia. And we were offered to go on an excursion to the New World. We didn't regret it at all! There is such beauty there! The water is clean. I saw my feet in the water! And how nice she is! And this is in the village itself, where there are many vacationers. I really enjoyed the hike along the Galitsinskaya trail to Tsarskaya Bay. We walked through the juniper grove. And despite the fatigue, the impressions remained unforgettable. If I go to Crimea again, I want to stay there for a long vacation. If you rent a house at the beginning of the village, the view will be magnificent. It’s so beautiful and cozy there that I didn’t want to leave. And when we invited our friends with us the next year, they were just as wildly delighted as we were. I want to return there again and again. If you haven't been there, go, you won't regret it. In general, Crimea is my favorite place.

After going on an excursion to a champagne wine factory and listening to the guide’s interesting stories about Prince Golitsyn, I really wanted to visit the famous Golitsyn trail. It’s a pity that the trail after the earthquake doesn’t look like it did in the time of the prince, but still the historical spirit and amazing beauty of these places are mesmerizing. You can’t help but think that famous people walked here and also admired the magnificent beauties of Crimea. We visited the Golitsyn trail in hot weather and did not take water with us, do not repeat our mistake and then the walk will not be so tiring.

What about the “drink of the gods”? In the New World there is a champagne wine factory with the same name. We visited there on a tour; my husband had long dreamed of seeing the production process from start to finish. Very interesting and exciting. We tasted several types of champagne, especially liked the dry one. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name.

Our trip to the New World became unforgettable. That day the sea was not very calm and walking along the Galitsyn path, watching the waves crashing against the rocks was breathtaking. Therefore, we walked along this path twice. We were at the very edge of Cape Kapchik and walked along the bay.

    Answer

I really enjoyed the excursion to the New World along the Golitsyn trail. It runs along the sea along a cliff and offers beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for everyone, since it is purely pedestrian, and you will have to walk a lot. And towards the end you have to climb the mountain, it ends in a juniper grove not far from the estate of Lev Golitsyn. Despite all the difficulties, the excursion is worth it, as it covers almost all the sights of the New World.

    Answer

    1. We were also on the Golitsyn trail! The only thing I want to emphasize is that you just need comfortable shoes. Since I wanted not to go down this very path, but to move down it - the stones were so polished by tourists. As for the rest - complete delight, even the rocky coast did not spoil the impressions - everything is so beautiful, especially the juniper grove and bays with azure water.

New World

Novy Svet is a village included in the urban district of Sudak, in the southeast of Crimea. It arose thanks to the efforts of winemaker Lev Golitsyn at the end of the century before last and was originally called Paradise (paradise).

New World. Crimea (photo from the site http://rest-sea.com.ru)

How to get there

Just 15 minutes by minibus from Sudak - and you are in the New World. Distance from Sudak 7 km. For those traveling by car, there is paid parking near the Novy Svet Factory (where the champagne wines of the same name are produced) and the embankment - 50 rubles per hour. In other places, parking a car will be extremely problematic, or very far from the embankment.

Beaches

Small pebbles (almost sand), large pebbles.
There are three beaches in total - in Green Bay (the main, central one), in Blue Bay ("pirate", along the Golitsyn trail at the foot of Mount Koba-Kaya) and in Golubaya ("royal", behind Cape Kapchik). You can get to the last one along the Golitsyn trail as well as to the pirate one, but it is a little further, behind the cape and the path to it runs through a juniper grove and a gorge.

You don’t have to walk to the beaches; you can be taken by water on a boat for 200 rubles.

Golitsyn trail

The main attraction of the New World for backpackers. It was specially cut down on the slope of Mount Koba-Kaya, laid for the arrival of Emperor Nicholas II in 1912. Entry from the edge of Green Bay, where the beach ends, was free this year

This three-minute video contains video fragments of our hike, which we posted as stories in our Instagram.

Golitsyn's Grotto

On the trail you will come across the Golitsyn Grotto (or Chaliapin - it has several names) in Mount Koba-Kaya. The grotto is famous for the fact that the winemaker stored wine in it, and Chaliapin allegedly gave a concert there. The grotto is natural, carved out by sea waves. Tall and wide.

People usually swim in the grotto. Some people are too lazy to walk to the beach, but I think the majority are attracted by the location. Rocks, clean and clear water 😏

Golitsyn's Grotto. Arch in the vault

In secluded areas of the grotto, you can fall into a mine made of human feces. This needs to be remembered, and everyone traveling along the trail should keep in mind that there are no toilets along the way and you need to take care of your needs in advance.

Golitsyn's Grotto

Golitsyn's Grotto

After the Golitsyn grotto, the trail leads to the southern slopes of Mount Koba-Kaya. Then it descends and follows the coast of Blue Bay. It also houses a “pirate” beach.

Cape Kapchik

Cape Kapchik is a narrow isthmus separating the Blue and Golubaya bays; its origin is an ancient coral reef. In the middle part of the cape there is a 77-meter through grotto, which has been closed to the public for five years.

There is a trail map on the cape.

There are very wonderful views from the cape!

View from Cape Kapchik. New World. Blue Bay

Behind the cape there is a view of the Blue (Deliliman) Bay, which is limited from the east by the cape itself, and from the west by Mount Karaul-Oba. On the coast of this bay there is a beach that was chosen by the royals, which is why the beach is called “Tsarsky”.

Road to Tsarskoye Beach

The approach to the “royal” beach is limited, since it is located on the territory of the “New World” nature reserve, but you can still get to it. The Golitsyn trail takes you from the cape through a juniper grove to the village, but if you turn off from it in the grove (there is a fairly large intersection there), you can go down into the gorge and go to the beach.

Path through the juniper grove

Juniper Grove

If you turn earlier, you will also go out into the gorge to the beach, but through a very inconvenient and steep descent.

Descent into the gorge to the royal beach. There is no need to go down like that, but you need to go further along the path and go down like all normal people
