Where does Ryanair fly to? Ryanair routes. RyanAir aircraft fleet

Continuing our acquaintance with modern airlines, we will consider another low-cost airline - the Irish airline RyanAir, which operates low-cost flights throughout Europe and is a direct competitor of the airline. Today RyanAir is the largest low-cost airline in Europe.

From the history of RyanAir

The airline RyanAir (Ryan Air) was founded in 1985 by an Irish millionaire. The activity of the airline began with a small propeller aircraft. In the 1990s, the European market was dominated mainly by national companies that received funding from governments. There was no question of the appearance of a budget airline. But the management of RyanAir was able to apply the low cost scheme famous in the USA. In the mid-90s, the airline began its promotion to the continental part of Europe. The air fleet has been increased to 45 Boeings. In the early 2000s, the airline placed a large order for 145 aircraft. She actively developed online sales through the site. Today, RyanAir serves over 1,600 destinations, between 180 airports in 28 countries. The airline's low prices are also due to the fact that the airports serving these aircraft are located at a sufficient distance from the city.

The airline flies throughout Europe serving over 1,600 destinations, including Morocco. In addition, this network is constantly expanding, and RyanAir is adding more and more new destinations to its route list.

RyanAir aircraft fleet

RyanAir operates only one aircraft model: the Boeing 737-800. This is another reason for low ticket prices. Today, the airline has 300 aircraft in operation. And if we take into account the airline's order for new aircraft, then by 2024 the air fleet will expand to 520 aircraft!

Thus, RyanAir is developing dynamically and conquering the air travel market. This is understandable why: prices for many destinations start from €9.90 round trip. These are really attractive rates. Unfortunately, the airline does not operate its flights from Russia and Belarus, so you have to use the nearest airports in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. For the fourth year now, we have been flying around Europe with low-cost airlines, primarily with Ryanair. I believe that someone will be interested in our experience.

In order. Ordering and purchasing tickets.

We always (except this year) started preparations in advance, 3-4 months in advance. This allows you to choose the day of departure and return in the best possible way. Yes, and tickets for such a period turn out to be cheaper, though you still need to look and “catch” “happy” hours and days when they are at the lowest price. Here, too, we must remember that the opposite happens. You wait and hope for a discount, but the lowest prices have already passed and will not return. Alas!

1. All actions are carried out on the airline's website - ryanair.com. Navigation is quite simple. Choose the airport of departure and airport of arrival. (The most relevant for us is Vilnius, within easy reach of Kaunas, Riga, Tallinn and Warsaw. Tampere is also from St. Petersburg.) Check flexible dates to show you flights a few days ahead and back from the date you need. Then move on to the next page.

2. Without errors, fill in the name field in Latin letters as in the passport. A mistake can be costly. Correction costs 50 euros if made in advance and 100 euros already at the airport. There you can also point out the possibility of preferential boarding - without a queue, it costs 5 euros and the cost of 1 piece of luggage up to 15 kg - 15 euros, up to 20 kg - 25 euros.

3. The next item is flight insurance. If you do not live in prosperous Europe and the states that have joined it, then go down to Please select a country of residence and choose travel without insure (travel without insurance).

4. Below you can choose a seat. It will cost 10 euros. Then you will be bombarded with requests to purchase a suitcase suitable for the flight from a good manufacturer and transfer offers. In the meantime, rent a car. Here, as you wish.

5. The last page - contact details - the payer's data, starting with his email address. This box will be the main means of your notification. There is also other contact information about you.

6. Go to the payments column, where you will specify the means of payment. Here, if you simply indicate visa (mastercard), then it is understood that you will pay by credit card and you will be charged another 2% of the cost of the payment. In this case, it is better to choose visa/debit (masterxard prepapaid) if you have a debit card.

The process is almost complete. Wait for confirmation that the money has been debited, and then carefully read the letter from the company in your box. It remains to register for the flight online and print your ticket. It is with him that you will rush to the ryanair counter at the airport of departure to present (or check in) your luggage (a suitcase of the correct dimensions, weighing “10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm”).

In Vilnius, for example, everything has been going quite loyally for us lately. It happens that your size is suitable, but there are problems with weight, do not be shy, unlike me in Bremen ... This time, in fact, in front of an employee, I posted some little things (a camera, a razor, etc.) in jacket pocket and calmly outweighed the notorious briefcase. 10 kg. No problem!

Next - a mandatory moment for non-EU citizens - visa control. Usually at the front desk. Show the lady your passport with a visa, she will stamp your ticket printout and go to the security zone. A trifle, but we must remember this moment, especially in the face of increased passport control at European airports.

There are no fixed places for you (if you did not pay for it in advance). Stand in line in a friendly crowd, rush into the salon and take the places that you like.

Ryanair uses a Boeing 737 that has about 200 seats and doesn't recline, so keep that in mind. Food, drinks - for an additional fee. During the flight, you will be offered this more than once, as well as a lot of other things. Bazaar, and more!

More details about some situations - in my stories and. Everything happened, but I'm not complaining ...

However, by and large, if there is a desire, and most importantly, a willingness to save money and endure some hardships, then flying low-cost is a simple matter!
