Ukraineina: Dmitry Tsymbalyuk, Denis Demyankov, Dmitry Pyshkov, Nikolay Kuchmiy.

Russia: Stepan Maranyan, Artem Surkov, Roman Vlasov, Vitaly Shchur.

Kazakhstan : Mirambek Ainagulov, Askhat Dilmukhamedov.

Bela Rus : Maxim Kazharsky, Soslan Daurov, Radik Kaliev, Kirill Grishchenko.

The main headliner of today's fight at the 2017 World Championship is Roman Vlasov, it is his fights that will be the most interesting to watch. Has Roman been able to adapt to the rule change? We will know the answer soon. And now let's predict the favorites for August 22.

59kg: There are no obvious favorites in this weight, perhaps they look more preferable than the others: Japanese Kenichiro Fumita, Bulgarian Ivo Angelov, North Korean Yun Won-Chol and Stepan Maranyan from Russia. Oh yes, I forgot Stieg-André Berg, the Olympic medalist of Rio 2016. We also hope that Dmitry Tsymbalyuk will have something to say in the fight for medals at the 2017 World Cup.

66kg: Here, the most preferred figures for the status of the favorite look: Russian Artem Surkov, Soslan Daurov from Belarus, Korean Rui Han-Su and Almat Kebispaev from Kazakhstan.

80kg: In terms of regalia, Roman Vlasov is preferable to all, but this is a new weight for the Novosibirsk citizen and there are quite formidable rivals here in the face of: Zurab Daunashvili, Mark Madsen, Aslan Atem and, of course, our Dmitry Pyshkov, I really hope that Dima will finally break through, he has long been ripe for the championship.

130kg: In the absence of the great Mihai Lopez, the Turkish Reza Kayalp looks like a clear favorite among the heavyweights, all the rest will most likely be able to claim gold only in the event of an unsuccessful performance by the Turk.

Watch the live broadcast of the 2017 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Cup from France. And you will see for yourself whether our predictions will come true. It will be interesting stay with us!

Greco-Roman wrestling World Championship Paris-2017, online video broadcast

Today, August 21, in Paris (France), the World Championship in wrestling started not very well for the Russians. Our classics have two silver medals in four weight categories - they reached the finals, but lost to Musa Evloev (up to 98 kg) and Alexander Chekhirkin (up to 75 kg) ..

Again - place "five"

For the second year in a row, Adam Kurak takes fifth place at the World Championships - a year earlier he stumbled in the fight for bronze at the non-Olympic world in Hungary. He suffered a very insulting defeat at the 1/8 final stage - losing to the Kazakh Demey Zhadraev (2:6), who managed to defeat the current world and European champion Balint Korpasha from Hungary in the semifinals. And our Adam failed to beat him - 1:2. Gold went to the German Frank Stebler, who became a two-time world champion, he had previously conquered Las Vegas 2015 in the weight up to 66 kg.

crunch of the day

The characteristic crunch ended the World Championship for the Olympic champion Davit Chakvetadze at the semi-final stage. During the fight with Metehan Bashar from Turkey, at the entrance to the building, there was a crunch of the knee, which was heard even from the media zone. After the cry of Davit and the help of the medical staff, our wrestler courageously continued the fight and tried to rectify the situation from a score of 2:4, but there were no chances of winning - this was clear from the reaction of his second Levani Kezevadze, who spent the last two minutes of the fight holding his hands behind head. “When I went to the warm-up hall from the carpet, I understood that I couldn’t go on the carpet for the bronze medal fight - my knee was swollen. But in the evening I came to the gym anyway and was ready to go on the carpet so that the fifth place was fixed and fell into the piggy bank of the national team a few points. What next - I don’t know yet, when I will arrive in Moscow - I will do an MRI, "the Rio 2016 triumphant said upset. Davit was removed from the World Championship by a doctor, and it was the Turk who got the gold, who even at the end of the fight was afraid of the Russian limping wrestler and evaded the fight.

Alexander Chekhirkin's new goal

More recently, the 2014 European champion Alexander Chekhirkin, struggling with injuries more often than with rivals, was thinking about ending his sports career, but the 2017 season turned out to be quite fruitful for him. Starting with silver at Poddubny, Alexander demonstrated excellent condition at the Russian Championship and the tournament in Poland, returning with gold medals. In good shape, he approached the World Championships, reaching the final, winning three out of five fights on the touch. However, in the final, the mood faltered - and, alas, only silver. However, now Chekhirkin's goal is to return to the World Championship for gold, and certainly not to end his career. “Now I want to come home, see my relatives and go somewhere with my family. And then train and return for the World Championship gold,” Alexander said after the awards ceremony.

"Spitak Arch" from Armenia and "El clasico" Greco-Roman wrestling

For the fourth year in a row, Armenian wrestler Artur Aleksanyan has no equal at the main start of the year - since 2014 he has three world championship golds and a victory in Rio 2016. It was not possible to defeat the more skillful and experienced Armenian Musa Evloev, who fought Aleksanyan in Paris for the first time. "Arthur has weaknesses, but I seem to have more of them," Musa Evloev lowered his head in the mix zone. Evloev's personal trainer, David Kadilov, stressed that Musa has everything ahead. "Spitak arch", which means "polar bear" in Armenian today, is perhaps the flagship of Greco-Roman wrestling, which does not hesitate not to miss the European Championships and demonstrating excellent shape at the World Championships. And the confrontation "Evloev - Aleksanyan" in the Olympic cycle "To Tokyo-2020" can become a kind of "El clasico" of Greco-Roman wrestling.

At the same time, all four medals were won in the Olympic weight categories. And each defeat was not a consequence of the technical advantage of the opponents - those who later became champions. All these defeats happened according to the verdict of the judges. But God forbid me to nod at the arbitrators! No stones in their direction. You have to be two heads stronger, and no one will take away your victory - another lesson of the Soviet struggle. In any case, in Paris, the classics had to take at least one gold medal. And there is no excuse for not doing so.

Third consideration. Greco-Roman wrestling is dying

This championship is positioned by the UWW as a "return home" - they say that the classic wrestling came out of the French circuses and now falls back to its roots. I am sure that if the spectators who watched the wrestling fights in the circuses of the 19th century would have looked at what was happening at the AccorHotels Arena, they would have demanded the money back. Boring! Six minutes of pushing without throwing, judges issuing penalties for incomprehensible reasons ... My opinion: Greco-Roman wrestling continues to gradually die. Sometimes it seemed that the ex-president of the International Federation of United Wrestling Styles, Rafael Martinetti, who was present in the stands, who was once expelled from his post with a scandal, could hardly restrain a sarcastic grin: “Well, what do you guys manage to make a show out of wrestling? Are you interested in watching?"

Mamiashvili: UWW and I personally are not so pessimistic about the situation. But everyone is well aware that changes are needed. The rules in Greco-Roman wrestling will be radically changed. I repeat: radically. This will happen in the coming days. The stalls, which were removed at the end of last season, will definitely return. Opportunities will expand for those wrestlers who are better prepared not physically, but technically. Today fighters take by force. It's not spectacular, and the audience is unlikely to like it. Not only we suffer from this, you look: Iranians without victories, Cubans - that is, all those who rely on throwing equipment. And not on, as you rightly put it, crushing. Yes, reforms are needed, and we will implement them.

The fourth consideration. What to do with the head coach

According to the usual sports logic, the coach of a team that failed the World Cup will inevitably face the threat of resignation. What to do with Gogi Koguashvili, steering the national team since 2006? You can make a lot of claims to him - like any specialist who has been tied to the main team for so many years. Emotions aside, he failed the 2017 World Cup, as Mamiashvili noted, rather from the point of view of statistics - de facto his team looked at its usual level.

Previously, this level was generally satisfactory, what has changed now? At the same time, for three Olympics in a row, the Russian team, as ordered, reached the peak of form and showed its best results in four years. This is clearly not a coincidence.

Mamiashvili: What does it mean "what to do with the coach?". Am I a holy inquisition? I never separated myself from the team, the problems of the team means that I overlooked somewhere. As they say, let's sit down, analyze, and understand where to go next. If the team of Gogi Murmanovich Koguashvili presents plans that suit us with an eye already at Tokyo 2020, we will continue to move together.

I will not hide, I have certain questions about the training process, although I always try not to interfere. There are things that should be heard in one way or another by the coaches of the national team. I'll say it straight: without fail, there will be personnel reinforcements in the composition of the specialists of the Russian national team. New last names? Well, I wouldn't call them new. Other surnames. There is a working process, no sensations.

Fifth consideration. optimistic

You will be surprised, but the legendary Parisian "Bercy" (this sports palace used to be called that way) still heard the Russian anthem. It happened already in the empty hall, after all the personal award ceremonies. It was then that it turned out that in the overall standings (and wrestlers, according to their long tradition, do not count medals, but points for places taken), the Russian Greco-Roman wrestling team ... took first place. This means that her margin of safety is still large. The anti-record has been set, there is nowhere to fall below, only up further.

In the meantime, let's listen to our anthem. There are four days of the World Championship ahead - first women's wrestling, then freestyle - it will come in handy.

The World Wrestling Championship is in full swing in Paris. Freestyle wrestlers, including eminent Dagestan athletes, are only starting today, the Greco-Roman wrestlers of the Russian national team have already set a sad anti-record - they have not won a single gold medal. For the first time since 1953.

Literally on the eve of the World Championships, the head coach of the Russian national team in Greco-Roman wrestling gogi Koguashvili, apparently, had absolutely no doubts about the successful performance of his eagles. “I know what work we have done, so there is confidence that the team will perform successfully in the championship and win the team standings. All the guys are healthy, there are some minor problems, but, as they say, it's not interesting without a sore. We are flying to France with a champion team, ” Koguashvili said.

But something apparently went wrong, and three days later the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Michael Mamiashvili said: “The Greco-Roman wrestling team was left without gold, but this is not a reason to sprinkle ashes on your head. The situation will be analyzed in the most severe way, there will be organizational conclusions. But you need to understand that the team is moving towards the main event of the four-year period, our task is to form a capable squad.”

Even those who were relied on individually were blown away. On the first day of the tournament, the 2016 Olympic champion Dawit Chakvetadze could not compete for awards due to injury, on the second day two-time Olympic champion Novel Vlasov generally defeated in the first fight with the representative of Azerbaijan Alvin Mursaliyev.

Another Russian fell into the same hole as Vlasov - Vitaly schur, who in the weight category up to 130 kg could not cope with a wrestler from Egypt Mohamed Abdellatif. Shchur lost with a score of 1:2, thereby losing his chances even for bronze. They were taken from him by a Georgian wrestler Levan Arabuli, who defeated Abdellatif in the 1/8 finals.

Good (compared to other Russians) harnessed Stepan Maryanyan in the weight category up to 59 kg. In the opening round, he defeated the German Etienne Kissinger. In the 1/8 finals outright defeated the Hungarian Erika Torbu. But in the quarterfinals, the Russian lost to the representative of Japan Kenichiro Fumite- 2:4. However, the fact that the Japanese wrestler got to the fight for gold meant that Maryanyan would be able to compete for bronze in the consolation tournament. Lithuanian became his first opponent Eustace Petrevicius, and here Stepan did not allow his opponent to score a single credit score: the score was 9:0.

In the duel for the third place, Maryanyan fought with a wrestler from Kyrgyzstan Kanybek Zholchubekov, who was stopped in the semi-finals by the same Fumite. The Russian at first yielded, but after a series of successful tricks he forced the referee to record his victory - 10:2.

After that, it remained to hope for the Greco-Roman Artyom Surkov, acting in weight up to 66 kg. He also started the tournament briskly, first defeating the host of the competition Grachika Malkhasyan(8:0), then confidently defeating the bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games from Uzbekistan Elmurat Tasmuradova with a score of 9:4 (in Rio de Janeiro he won a medal in the weight up to 59 kg), and in the quarterfinals he won against the Serb Mate Nemesha(9:0). But that's where the positives ended. Surkov lost to the 2013 world champion from South Korea in the semi-finals Ryu Hansu- 1:2 and went to "fight" for bronze with an Armenian Karen Aslanyan.

Thus, for the first time in 64 years, the Russian team was left without gold in the Greco-Roman style. They finished the Paris championship with only four medals - two silvers and two bronzes. And against this background, Mamiashvili's statement - "we will carefully and cruelly sort it out" - looks like little consolation.

Nevertheless, our team became the first in the standings of nations, scoring 46 points and ahead of the athletes from Iran, who became second, by 10 points.

But already today freestyle wrestling will begin in Paris. The Russian national team is represented by 8 athletes, and it is quite obvious that the results of their fights will leave the fans with more pleasant impressions.

Team head coach Dzambolat Tedeev already made plans. “Our medal plan, by and large, is always the same. In Paris, we will check the young guys, give them the opportunity to show, to prove themselves at the beginning of the Olympic cycle. It's time to reveal the guys, it's time to create internal competition for Tokyo 2020. As for the plan, we want to win at least three gold medals. Boldly? Why did you decide so? Due to the fact that in Paris from the Olympic team only Sadulaev will fight? Even though we have a lot of debutants in the team, they have a clear goal. Any chance they have to cling to."- he said.

However, Paris gave another joy. On Thursday, a meeting of the UWW Bureau was held there as part of the World Wrestling Championship. Members of the Bureau of the United World Wrestling (UWW) approved the holding of the European Championship 2018 in Kaspiysk. ]§[
