Gorky park Pushkin embankment on the map. How to get to the pier by land transport. What does the Gorky Park pier look like now?

In recent years, one of the most popular places in Moscow, the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure, has changed quite significantly, but this was expressed not in a large-scale reconstruction, but in dozens of individual details. This is especially evident on Pushkinskaya embankment.

For example, a beach area with wooden flooring and showers was made near Pushkinsky Bridge, later called Olive Beach. A cafe of the same name with a view of the river and flower beds with trees was also opened here. In addition, the first photo shows that the Ferris wheel and the gate of the southern entrance were demolished, marking the border between Gorky Park itself and the landscape Neskuchny Garden. On the other side, not far from the Crimean bridge, the building of the directorate of the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Culture, which was originally built in 1890 as the building of the Bromel shipyard, was greatly altered. It was rebuilt in the constructivist style in the 1930s, but much has changed since then. In addition, a large lighthouse-like structure has been removed. Now its layout is in the park.

The current "Light and Musical" fountain used to be crowned with the sculpture "Girl with an oar" by Ivan Shadr. It is believed that the sculptor's model was Vera Voloshina, a student at the Moscow Institute of Physical Education. The sculpture looked like a full-length naked girl with an oar in her right hand. In 1935, she was already standing in the central part of the park, not far from the main entrance. However, soon a wave of criticism fell upon the image of a naked girl, and in the same year it was removed, moving it to the park of culture and recreation in Lugansk. After Ivan Shadr made a new version of the sculpture: it was larger in size, but looked much less sexy. However, she did not manage to stay here for a long time. In 1941, it was destroyed during the bombing.

Next to the “alley of memory of Moscow firefighters who died in the line of duty”, a green area with ottomans and sun loungers was made in place of the carousel. In addition, over the past 8 years, the number of catering kiosks and trash bins has greatly increased here.

On the other side of the Olive Beach near the Pushkin Bridge, they made a large dance floor. Previously, there was the directorate of the yacht festival and there was even a small copy of the "Girl with a paddle". In 2008, the site was renovated: old boards were replaced, and new ones were varnished. In warm weather, a large number of dancers of various directions gather here: from hustle and boogie-woogie to latin and blues. In addition, in the background you can see how the summer studio of Channel One was built.

Then they put in order the embankment of the grandstand of Gorky Park. It was built back in 1934 to watch sports water competitions that were held on the river. Now it has lost its original meaning and is used simply as a place of rest. In this regard, wooden benches were made on the ledges of the embankment.

Near the central fountain of the park, flower beds were laid out, old attractions were removed and new trading tents were installed. In winter, a huge artificial ice rink and skate rentals open here.

Not far from the aforementioned "alley of memory of Moscow firefighters who died in the line of duty," the attractions and the station with children's trains were also removed. The navigation desk with pointers to attractions has also disappeared. Instead of them, flower beds have now been laid out and benches have been set up for the rest of people walking here. In addition, a sculpture of a discus thrower was placed here, a copy of the original work of the sculptor Matvey Manizer, created by him back in 1927-1935.

Culture and recreation them. M. Gorky is loved by both Muscovites and guests of the capital. It is adjacent to the river, which makes it even more in demand during the summer. The park is located in the very center of the city. On the territory it is huge - there is where to roam. In its southern part, Gorky Park passes into the Neskuchny Garden. There are ponds on the territory of the Central Park of Culture and Culture, but its main advantage is still its proximity to the Moscow River. Cruise ships, sightseeing boats and floating restaurant yachts ply along it during the navigation period. Therefore, for many tourists who arrived in Gorky Park, the pier is the main attraction. How to find it in a vast green area? How to get closer by car or public transport? Our article will tell about it.

Past and present of Gorky Park

TsPKiO was broken in 1928. It covered an area of one hundred hectares. But he did not appear out of nowhere. Even before the revolution, it was a vast green area - a meadow reserved for grazing horses from the imperial stables. Therefore, rich people began to settle near him, because the air in this area was fresh. Beautiful villas with park pavilions ennobled the landscape. It was not forgotten, and In the summer, indoor swimming pools were arranged there. After the revolution, the first VDNKh was located on this meadow. But then the exhibition was postponed, and the park was intended, as its name says, for culture and recreation. Since various competitions were held in it, including water sports, it became necessary to equip the pier. Gorky Park was equipped mainly with the hands of ordinary Muscovites, on subbotniks. At first, the pier was a simple wooden platform. Pleasure boats moored to it, competitions in sports rowing were held.

What does the Gorky Park pier look like now?

The pier throughout its existence has been inextricably linked with the Central Park of Culture and Culture. And when he experienced his golden age, from 1935 to 1939, the embankment of the Moscow River in this place was also landscaped. The pier was complemented by a pontoon made of wood, metal and stone. And in 2008, a major reconstruction of the Gorky Park berth was carried out. The boards were covered with a special varnish, laid out beautiful paving stones. The harbor is wonderfully lit. There is a bike path along the coast. There is also a summer bar with a rain cover. This pier is one of the longest in the capital. Four or five large ships can moor here at the same time. But there are no cash desks selling tickets for them on the pier and next to it. In the stalls that stand on the waterfront, you can rent bicycles and other similar vehicles.

Events

All year round, despite the severity of the Russian winter, the movement of ships from the pier "Gorky Park" does not stop. "Radisson Royal" has a flotilla that easily overcomes the ice. Yacht-restaurants of this company ride guests every day, seven days a week. During the navigation period, they are joined by cruise ships and sightseeing boats of the Central Moscow walking line. Every year, around the second week of July, the CPKiO pier becomes the venue for the Yacht Festival. At this time, many owners of such ships, as well as those who plan to become them, come to Moscow. The wooden surface of the pier is perfect for dancing. And in the summer, such cultural events are organized there.

There is a second opportunity to get by subway to the pier "Park Kultury im. Gorky". To do this, you need to get off at the metro station of the same name. Also, not far from the entrance to the TsPKiO are located "Shabolovskaya" and "Frunzenskaya".

How to get to the pier by land transport

It will not be possible to famously drive a car directly to the pier - here is a strictly pedestrian zone of the park. But in front of the main entrance to the TsPKiO there is a large parking lot. It is free on holidays and weekends. You can leave your car on the opposite side of the river, on Frunzenskaya Embankment, and you can easily walk to the pier along the pedestrian Andreevsky (Pushkinsky) or Crimean bridge.

And how to get to the Gorky Park pier by public transport? The nearest stop of trolleybuses No. 10 and "B" is called "TsPKiO". There are also several bus routes. From 1993 to 2014, there was a model of the Buran spacecraft on Pushkinskaya Embankment. It is a model, and not a real ship, as some believe. In total, at the Tushino Machine-Building Plant, located in the north of Moscow, 3 Buran-class ships were built, as well as several mock-ups. In Gorky Park there was an orbital model ship "BTS-001", which, after construction, was used to work out operations for the air transportation of Buran-type ships, but due to the closure of the Buran program, it was decommissioned, transported from Tushino to Gorky Park and turned first in a cafe, and in the 2000s - in the entertainment attraction “Flying on the Buran”, which has been closed since the beginning of the reconstruction of Gorky Park in 2011. At the beginning of July 2014, the Buran model was transported to Industry Square near the Cosmos pavilion at VDNKh.

How to get to Gorky Park

  • The nearest metro station is Oktyabrskaya Koltsevaya.
  • At the exit from the metro, immediately after the escalator and turnstiles, turn left (all the people will go to the right).
  • Access to the city through glass doors.
  • Take a little to the right and then straight ahead all the time. You can walk from Oktyabrskaya in just 5 minutes.

Surprisingly, until now, not only tourists, but also many Muscovites travel to Gorky Park through the Park Kultury metro station. Judging by the name of the station, this, of course, is logical, because the TsPKiO im. Gorky stands for Central Park of Culture and Recreation. But it takes much longer to walk from this station. You will need to cross 2 roads, and then also stomp across the entire Crimean bridge. So, keep in mind that the nearest metro station is Oktyabrskaya.

You can also walk, for example, from the Shabolovskaya metro station (15 minutes walk). From the metro Frunzenskaya on foot 20-25 minutes through the glass bridge. From the metro station Leninsky Prospekt, pass through the Neskuchny Garden (30-40 minutes). From Sparrow Hills on foot along the embankment about 1 hour walking pace. From the Polyanka metro station, a passage to the PG through the Muzeon park.
