Rest in the hotel "Chaika Beach" 5 * on Slynchev Bryag (Bulgaria) left mixed impressions. We rested with the whole family, consisting of 4 people - parents and two children in July 2009. At first everything seemed fine. We were given a very large room - an apartment on the 6th floor with a sea view. We were happy because there was more than enough space for our family - the room was about 60 meters, including a huge balcony around the perimeter, since the room was at the end of the building. The constant lack of space in restaurants, because I understand that the hotel simply could not cope with the number of vacationers. What is the change of linen - we did not find out, towels were simply not changed throughout the rest And to our naive question, what's the matter - just answer us ...

Planning a seaside holiday this year has proven to be more challenging than ever. Turkey and Egypt are closed, Spain and Greece (good level) were too expensive. Even with the expansion of resort areas, Russia is not able to offer a good level for reasonable money. Thus, the choice fell on Bulgaria. This summer, the number of Russian tourists in this country has increased significantly due to the political situation in Russia and the fairly reasonable prices offered by Bulgaria.

But, unfortunately, the hotel that I chose turned out to be far from European level. An all inclusive hotel where everything is actually off.

Let's start the story from the very beginning.

We flew to Bulgaria at 2 am on 07/06/16. Considering that check-in at Samara airport starts three hours before departure, and we still had to pick up our passports (which were from the tour operator at the airport), we were already at 11 pm on 07/05/16 with all the luggage at the place of departure. Thus, having flown about 4 hours, we ended up at Burgas airport at 5.25 Moscow time.

After fumbling with luggage, very slow Bulgarians finally took us to the hotel, where we ended up at 6.45.

And what was our surprise, and even more indignation, when it turned out that about usually conditional check in at the hotel only at 14.00, and check out only at 12.00 and not a minute earlier. Usually this condition can be easily bypassed. If you arrived earlier than the check-in time, you can pay somewhere around 20 dollars, and you are already sitting quietly in your room, but no, not in this hotel. We had to wait for the appointed time. And it's not the lack of numbers. We were directly told that there are rooms, but we will not be settled, as the manager told them so. And their chic word "can't", which they always used in their speech. In this hotel, everything is "not possible".

But this "beautiful" morning did not end there. Not knowing sleep for more than 24 hours, we waited for the check-in time. But already at 12.30 people stopped sitting quietly on the sofas of the reception, and began to stand in line. We also rushed to do it. By one o'clock in the afternoon, a fat, huge line was lined up at the hotel, 7-10 people wide and approximately 6-8 meters long. And for an hour and a half we crowded and waited for 14.00. At 14.05 a smiling and slow girl began to populate people. We were somewhere 6th in line and by 15.00 were in the room. But when we went out to dinner at 18.00 the queue was only half gone! And the question is, why create such a crush, if those who arrived at 6 in the morning could move in for a long time, and who came later could also gradually move in. But no! We will deliberately gather crush and increase the indignation of vacationers!

Thus, having safely missed the paid breakfast and lunch, we found ourselves in the room.

The surprises of the hotel are not over. We paid for a room with a sea view.. And for seven days of rest this "luxury" cost us an overpayment of 20 thousand rubles. Not sickly so beauty is worth it! But what did we see from the balcony? And here it is:

How did I not notice him right away? To our complaint that we were put in the wrong building, the receptionist said a brilliant phrase: "There are no other rooms." (By the way, for the whole rest I realized that in Bulgaria there are two main words "nyama" and "impossible" ). Since we no longer had the strength for a long swearing, we calmed down and settled in this room.

We got a room in the building "Arcadia" on the 3rd floor.

A few words about the body . For the building "Metropol" and "Arcadia" a common reception. The two buildings are connected by a long corridor.

About the room.

On the floor dirty, dusty carpet with huge black spots. (Someone was more fortunate and had tiles on the floor). Bed double. On one side the mattress is very sagging. Bedspread wrinkled, as if a third world war was staged on the bed. Pillows-jelly and lumps. (according to the classification of Elena Letuchaya). Bed linen is new, clean, without spools.

From the pros: big panoramic window has a mirror effect. If you do not turn on the light in the room, then you will not be visible from the street.

There is a big mirror TV with three Russian channels, refrigerator. It's empty but working.. Cools very little.

From the lighting in the room, there are two lamps above the bed, two above the TV, spotlights in the hallway near the closet. By the way, wardrobe is spacious. Lots of hangers. Safe is, but he paid. Keys must be received at the reception. And pay there.

Air conditioner yes, it works, but not regulated. If you put any number of degrees, it will still remake it to the standard 27 or 28 degrees. What is the point is not clear. It seems to be windy, but there is no coolness. At night, the degrees itself lowers. Where is the logic - I do not know.

The bathroom is combined with a toilet.

There are almost no complaints here: clean, beautiful, cleaned (at least upon arrival). From toiletries: two shower gels, shampoo, conditioner and hair caps, two toilet papers. Fan working. Dries hair well.

However not enough towels. Upon arrival, the room had two large towels, one small for hands and one for feet. Doesn't quite reach the level of 4 stars.

The balcony is cramped. There are two chairs, a table, an ashtray (although it says that all rooms are non-smoking). By the way, this is how you can see all the balconies of the building: what hangs where and who does what.

Deserves special words cleaning level . The room is stated to be cleaned daily and linen changed twice a week. What actually happened:

1. toilet paper is changed daily;

2. trash is taken out daily;

3. towels changed in 7 days ONLY 1 TIME. And this by big agreement and with a disassembly at the reception. The cleaning lady states that "there are no towels". Funny! And when they changed it, they gave me two towels with some monstrously huge brown spots. Having asked the cleaning lady to change them, we again heard: "There are no more towels."

4. carpet vacuumed in 7 days ONLY 1 TIME. And this despite the fact that there are no disposable slippers in the room, and we naturally walked in street shoes. And all the city dirt and dust, as well as the sand from the beach, rested peacefully on the carpet during the holidays.

5. The bathroom floor was never washed! That's how we brought mud from the sea to the floor on the first day, so it increased every day! Hair, sand, dust gracefully decorated the white tiles on the floor.

6. neither the sink, nor the bathroom, nor the toilet bowl was ever washed or disinfected!

7. bed sheets were NEVER changed(and they had to do it 4 times!), the made bed was not corrected or remade.

Either I'm too spoiled, or the cleaners get their money for nothing!

Nutrition.

Firstly, it should be mentioned that the hotel has three huge buildings and two restaurants. But during our holiday only one restaurant was open. That's why queues behind closed doors- This is a spicy prelude to work up an appetite before eating. And while eating you have to stand and wait for forks, knives and plates(I’m generally silent about spoons, it was happiness if they could wait, as well as deep bowls for soup).

Secondly, range. Maybe I'm being picky, but in my opinion he rather poor, or The quality of the food itself leaves much to be desired. Very often almost all dishes are cold!

Breakfast - egg apotheosis. Boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs. Sausages boiled / fried. Sausage boiled/smoked. Fried bacon. Pancakes are disgusting (if you try to roll them into a tube, they will simply break at the fold. I don’t know what they are made of, but they look and taste unpleasant). Cheese regular / cottage cheese. Herring/fish small salted. Dry breakfast (chocolate balls). Jam and chocolate paste. Buns. From breakfast, only coffee from the coffee machine pleases (only first you have to look for which one has milk, otherwise on the first day I received "milk chocolate" in the form of cloudy water, a la there was no water in the house, and she suddenly went with rust), various variations of bread, and fruits (peaches, nectarines, apples, oranges, bananas were given). It seems like a lot of things, but in fact the whole vacation had to sit on scrambled eggs and sausages. Boring.

From the advantages of the restaurant - Can free to bring food into the room. No one stops you at the exit of the restaurant and does not take away food. Therefore, we often dragged sausages, cheese, bread and fruit from breakfast. Take it to the beach as a snack.

And what they didn’t eat was given to the seagulls.

They all cracked with pleasure, but, unfortunately, they immediately went to the toilet. Therefore, in some places the balcony was with reciprocal "gifts".

Dinner and supper similar. Here you can already roam. Two types of soup (possible: chicken soup, veal soup, puree soup, tomato soup. There were no others). Fried chicken, stew, chicken cutlets, chicken sausages, chicken nuggets. Beef cutlets, beef stew, beef fried. Fried fish, deep-fried fish, stewed fish, breaded fish cakes. Pasta, broccoli, cauliflower, risotto, plov, lasagna, pizza, rice rolls in some leaves. Salted fish. All salads - dry without dressing, except for the traditional Bulgarian salad "Snezhanka" (yogurt, grated cucumbers, greens). Sliced ​​tomatoes and cucumbers. I usually chose her. Because you can't eat salads. Desserts: nuts with condensed milk, cream cakes, Turkish sweets. Dinner is free ice cream. (I liked it with the taste of melon. I ate it all my vacation). Good strawberry and lemon. The rest - so-so or complete bullshit. But there is nothing to write down all this diversity. Tea is not provided, as is coffee. Only concentrated juices (tasteless in this hotel), beer, wine (but we don't like that).

By the way, all the names of the dishes are signed in Bulgarian and English.

Infrastructure. In addition, the hotel has a spa, a hairdresser, shops, two swimming pools (large and small). By the way, the whole of Bulgaria works only on the local currency - lev(about 33 Russian rubles) and stotinka(in 1 lev 100 stotinki). Neither euros, nor dollars, and even more so, rubles are not accepted anywhere. You can change money at the reception. But the exchange rate there is unfavorable (1 euro = 1.86 lev, while everywhere it is at least 1.9). There are many exchange offices in Sunny Beach. The most popular is the Crown. The course is bearable. But it is best to find Raiffeisen Bank. There course is the best. But no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't find it. Changed money in the "Crown".

We did not go to local amateur performances, since they all took place literally under our balcony.

However, the beach is urban. Sunbeds and umbrellas are paid. You can't just walk into this area. You can lie either behind the paid area, or between two paid areas. In fact, this area is five meters wide maximum. Not enough space. Hello, Soviet vacation at sea! The hotel does not provide beach towels, so if you don’t want to splurge on paid sunbeds on the sea and don’t want lie by the pool (sunbeds and umbrellas are free, but they are occupied at the beginning of the holiday immediately and for the whole holiday), then take some beds with you.

About the sea.

Water at the beginning of July warm, pleasant. Not straight fresh milk, but it's nice to swim. There are no jellyfish and mystical "nippers". However there are a lot of algae in the sea. If in the first half of the holiday it could still be tolerated. It feels like you fell you swim in the water, where the mowed grass was thrown in shreds. In the last days of our vacation, the situation worsened. If you have ever boiled a large pot of thick cabbage soup and could not finish it and decided to throw away half. They put their hand into the pot. Then you felt the cabbage-potato thick and a bit of broth. That's exactly how it felt in the last two days of our vacation. Only in the sea you do not let go of one hand, but go in with your whole body. And you are in these "shchi", only instead of cabbage there are thick green algae.

Very disgusting. It was impossible to swim!(Unfortunately, I did not take a close-up photo. But you can compare the color of the water in the two photos above: day 1 and the last day).

Outcome: the opinion of tourists about the country is largely based on the impression of the hotel in which they rested. This hotel really ruined my holiday. I do not recommend!

We rested in the summer of 2018 with two children, 4 and 8 years old. Expected more from the hotel, but there are many cons. The furniture in the room is old, the doors are loose, the pluses are the view of the sea, but they paid extra for it separately, there is also a modern flat-screen TV. The breakfasts are monotonous, there is no Wi-Fi in the hotel, even paid, the staff at the reception is unfriendly, they are not willing to answer questions, the fire alarm worked several times at night. We have long wanted to visit Bulgaria. And now the dream has come true. The hotel itself made a generally good impression. Cons were uncritical, pluses satisfied. But I must say right away that the hotel is not for everyone. My friend and I are not even thirty, so the party orientation of the hotel was a thrill for us. However, for those who are accustomed to Bulgaria as a quiet holiday area, I think it is worth choosing another accommodation. The room is larger than usual, with a kitchenette: kitchen furniture, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and even a set of dishes. None of us was eager to cook anything, let alone wash the dishes, but perhaps this option will come in handy for someone. Meals half board. Quite varied. Traditional breakfast and very very good tasty dinner. They usually dined outside the hotel, so gastronomically this further enhanced the effect of diversity. The pool at the hotel is standard large in size, there are enough sunbeds for everyone. Animators entertained by the pool every day. Respect to you guys! The sea is good. Vacation was a success!

Excellent youth hotel. We rested with a young man from June 29 to July 6, 2015. We arrived very early, and we had to wait a while for check-in, because they check in at 14.00 and we were warned about this. So we were ready. We were offered to leave our things in the luggage room. The room is closing, and also our suitcases were closed and wrapped in film, so this fact did not frighten us. We were settled already at 12.00, because the room was ready earlier, in the Chaika building. Room on the second floor with telephone, TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and crockery. Central air conditioning worked great. No complaints about the service. Bed linen was changed every other day, towels - every day, washed dirty dishes. As for food, it's very varied. We took breakfast and dinner. Enough and even very much. Dishes are varied. Lots of fruits and vegetables. There were enough plates, forks, glasses for everyone. Dirty dishes are immediately removed, tables are wiped. We have never encountered a place where it was dirty, there was not enough food, or there was a war for appliances. The pool is nice and there are plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds. Animators worked. Their program was not similar every day. It was fun to play water polo or "towns". Before the trip, I read the reviews and was horrified, I thought the rest would be ruined. But the impressions are the most positive. Thanks to all.

The complex is considered one of the largest on the entire coast of Bulgaria. It is located in the very center of Sunny Beach, eight kilometers from Nessebar - the old town. Literally at the hotel there is a bus stop with regular flights to Varna, Burgas, Plovdiv and Sofia. Nearby there are supermarkets and souvenir shops, many cafes and bars, discos.

Infrastructure
