1. Choice of location and arrangement.

2. Erection.

You will have to use two types of solutions. For the basement of the brazier, ordinary cement-sand is suitable, for the hearth - a composition with the addition of refractory clay. Here the procedure for preparing the masonry mixture will be different. Clay needs to be soaked in water for 5-6 days, and just before starting work, add a little cement of the M200 brand.

Before you start building a brick brazier, pour water over the prepared stacks - wet ceramics will not draw moisture from the solution, and the masonry will turn out to be strong and reliable. If this is not done in advance, you can simply lower the bricks one by one into a bucket of water for about half a minute.

The nuances of the construction of individual elements:

  • When laying out an in-depth firebox, it is advisable to leave small gaps between the bricks in the side - you get an air intake that provides better burning of firewood in the brazier.
  • If you are planning to equip your own barbecue with a sink and plumbing, you should immediately embed a metal pipe into the wall of the oven - it will serve as a channel in which you can easily and imperceptibly lay the eyeliner.
  • Performing the arched vault of the hearth with the help of a circle, when laying bricks with an arc, you will need to leave gaps, wedging the stones with chips. This will allow them to be symmetrically arranged and, if necessary, adjusted to the size of the portal, then you need to moisten the working surfaces with water and fill them with a solution. The wooden template is removed no earlier than two days later.

Particular attention must be paid to the construction of the chimney above the closed brazier, although the steps here are quite simple:

  • After laying two rows above the arch of the hearth, they begin to reduce the clearance of the opening. To do this, the back and front walls are gradually shortened in each row by half a brick.
  • The side partitions “move” towards each other by only a quarter, but on each side - this is how 7 rows are laid out.
  • Having narrowed the opening of the chimney, they continue to independently raise it to the desired height.

Alternatively, instead of a pipe, a metal cap can be used, completely covering the brick brazier from above and gradually narrowing to an acceptable clearance width, the main thing is that the steel is thick enough.
