Borus mountain in khakassia map. Three days on Borus: how can an ordinary citizen of Krasnoyarsk conquer a mountain range? What is interesting about Borus

A mountain range in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in the Western Sayan system. The name of the ridge is made up of the initial letters of the names of the first sports conquerors of the mountain - Borisov and Rusanov. Geographically, the peak is called "Mount Poilova". The highest point of the ridge, the top of the Big Borus, is 2318 meters above sea level.

The route to the waterfall allows you to get acquainted with the nature of the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and is one of the easiest and most popular on Borus, anyone can overcome it. Passes through the territory of the national park "Shushensky Bor".

The key points of the route are the waterfall and the view of the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP from the bridge. The advantage is the proximity of the hydroelectric power station - you can visit the observation deck, which offers a great view.

You can also note the Sayanogorsk-Cheryomushki highway itself: the route runs along the Yenisei among rocky ledges and taiga, the road is quite winding, but this only makes it picturesque.

It is important to know

Limitations and Features

A visit to the national park is paid, and amounts to 30 rubles per person (for 2017), when paying for the passage, registration of the group in the park visit log is required.

The route is designed to pass in 1 day, but if you wish, you can go through it with an overnight stay. The trail has good visibility everywhere, there are also Soviet marks applied in blue paint on tree trunks. Orientation on the route is not difficult. Throughout the route there are information stands introducing the flora and fauna of this park.

The route is designed for walking, but cycling is also possible.

Due to the fact that the route passes through the territory of the national park, it is fully equipped for passage: information stands, gazebos, equipped places for a tent camp.

When you go on the route, be sure to have a repellent with you.

How to get there

Ways of access to the route from the city of Abakan:

  1. Public transport. First you need to get to the city of Sayanogorsk from the bus station in Abakan, buses run at intervals of 15 to 30 minutes, the ticket price is 160 rubles, tickets are always available at the box office of the bus station. Then from the city of Sayanogorsk to the village of Cheryomushki by bus routes 2 and 2a, get off at the final stop, which is the starting point.
  2. By private car you can get on the road Abakan - Sayanogorsk, then on the road Sayanogorsk - Maina - Cheryomushki, The distance is about 110 km. You can also get by car along the second road, it runs the main part through the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: Abakan - Minusinsk - Shushenskoye - Sizaya - Mainskaya HPP - Cheryomushki, the path will be about 150 km.

One road leads to the village, paved along the banks of the Yenisei along the rocks. Initially, the road was narrow with numerous hills. But in 1991-1993, due to the rise in the level of the reservoir behind the Mainskaya hydroelectric power station, the road was raised (in some places up to 2 meters), widened and fences were installed (before that, the embankment of the railway tracks was a barrier). After that, the road took on its now familiar shape with dizzying views of the Yenisei, mountains and rocks.

Places for rest and overnight stays

Up to the waterfall there are 3 gazebos for a comfortable stay - spacious gazebos with a roof, benches and tables.

At the foot of the waterfall itself, to the left and to the right of the old channel, there are places for tents (not marked, determined by fires), there are also information stands.

If you really love mountains, taiga, forest paths and a sea of snow, but for various reasons you can’t go far and for a long time, go to Borus and pump yourself up properly. Newslab spoke with a professional and compiled a complete (but uncomplicated!) guide for a three-day trip from Krasnoyarsk to this ridge.

Small Borus in the center. On the right - Koshurnikov Peak

Borus - what kind of mountain is this and where is it located?

The Borus Ridge is located in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory near the border with Khakassia near the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP.Ridge It is part of the Western Sayan system and is distinguished by four peaks that are close to each other: the Peak of the Cuban Revolutionaries (Durakov Peak), Koshurnikov Peak, Maly Borus Peak and Poilov Peak (Big Borus). All peaks are at an altitude of about or slightly above 2000 meters above sea level. The highest of them is Poilov Peak, which rises to 2318 meters above sea level.

What's interesting about Borus?

Why is Borus so called?

The origin of the name of the ridge has two options. A beautiful Khakass legend says that the ridge is named after Borus or Burgus, who escaped on a raft during the Flood. After 40 days, his raft landed on the top of the mountain, where it is now in a petrified form. According to a more realistic version, the name of the ridge consists of parts of two names of its first conquerors: Borisov and Rusanov.

Of course, the uniqueness of its taiga, forest paths, mighty stone boulders (they are also called kurumnik), along which you climb higher and higher, as well as the purest mountain air and magnificent panoramic views.

The place is also attractive because it will be interesting for both experienced tourists and beginners who want to get acquainted with the world of mountains. The first can live in their tent under the mountain itself, the second can live in a cozy house on the cordon of the Shushensky Bor National Park. The cordon is located a stone's throw from civilization, which is also convenient. If you don't like it, you can always quickly get home.

By the way, in this sense, Borus is a good experience before traveling to such serious mountains as Belukha, Elbrus, Munku-Sardyk and others, where the simplest routes already require certain climbing skills and appropriate equipment.

And you don’t even have to go to the ridge itself! Some come in winter with their families and live on the cordon. They go to the sightseeing and up to the Pelekhov pass, children ride from the mountain road on ice-boats and buns. In general, the folk trail to the mountain never overgrows.

Road and expenses

For a comfortable ascent to the main peak of Borus, taking into account arrival, accommodation and departure, it will take at least three days. You can, of course, keep within two days and one night, but such non-stop even for trained people will be extremely difficult and will not leave any good impressions.

First of all, it is worth booking a house in advance. Especially if you are traveling for the weekend. To do this, you need to call the national park and agree on everything. The booking itself is free. About housing prices - a little lower.

Three days is enough for everyone: both bus workers and motorists. It is better to leave Krasnoyarsk by car at 6-7 am. Go to Khakassia to Sayanogorsk, and from there - to the village of Cheryomushki in the direction of the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station. There you will need to cross the only bridge in the village and, having missed the turn to the right immediately after the bridge, go further along the road, which itself will begin to turn to the right. You have to go along it to the turn to the left, where there will be a sign "National Park" Shushensky Bor "". In any case, a navigator or a map on your phone will not let you get lost.

If you are traveling by bus, then it is better to leave Krasnoyarsk around midnight (at the beginning of the day of the first of three days) immediately to Sayanogorsk or Abakan, from where you can relatively quickly leave for Sayanogorsk. There you will need to transfer to buses No. 2 or No. 2a, which go to Cheryomushki, and go to the final stop, which is just at the right bridge.

What is the best way to go?

The whole journey on buses with luggage will cost one person about 3,000 rubles from Krasnoyarsk to Cheryomushki and back. By car or with a car companion it will be cheaper by about 500 rubles or even more economical, and also faster. Another plus of driving a car is that you can drive to the observation deck of the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP. It is better to do this either on the way back, or if you arrived at the bridge by noon. You can go to the hydroelectric power station in the evening after going to the observation deck, which is described below. It makes no sense for bus drivers to go to the hydroelectric power station.

Features of local hospitality

So, you turned at the sign "National Park" Shushensky Bor ". After 200-300 meters you will see a small hotel of the national park with a barrier. This is the visitor center of the park, the passage through it is free. To pass by car, you need to find an administrator in the building who will raise the barrier.

You can stay overnight at the visitor center hotel. There are comfortable rooms, a warm toilet and bathroom, but it will be significantly more expensive and will lengthen your walks for a couple of kilometers there and back. I always go further to the Talovsky log cordon, where it is more picturesque, although a little more severe. Walk about 2.6 km on an almost flat road.

View of the Talovsky log cordon and its houses from the entrance

It is impossible to pass by the cordon - the road runs right into it. The car can be left either outside the cordon, or driven into a paid parking lot ( 50 rkillper day) . You can park for free in front of the cordon in the bath area. This is about 15-20 meters from the gate, but if the places are occupied, you will have to park further along the road.

Housing prices

Currently, the prices for the houses of the Talovsky Log cordon are as follows:

— 2-bed house — 700 rubles (350 rubles per person). There are now four such houses on the cordon.
- 4-bed house - 2300 rubles. Now there is one such house on the cordon.
– 6-bed house – 3000 rubles. Also only one house.

INnew year weekend pricesyou will grow up - for example,2-seaterthhousewill cost1 thousandRkill(500 rkillper person).

This is what double houses look like

What is the best sleeping bag to take?

In winter, the autumn-spring version suits me with a comfort temperature of about +5 C °. I go to bed in thermal underwear directly on the sleeping bag, but gradually at night I get into it and fasten it. Girls in such a sleeping bag, perhaps, should also sleep in a sweater and warm socks (if you do not melt the stove in the middle of the night).

I have always lived only in a two-bed house, although there are also 4- and even 20-bed houses. The double house is quite comfortable, but it has its own nuances. The most important is the oven. Firewood in it burns out pretty quickly. A full laying at night will burn out in two or three hours. Then the oven will gradually cool down. Either someone will have to get up at night for the second masonry, or just wrap yourself in a sleeping bag and sleep until the morning.

In addition to the stove in the houses, there are tables, stools or benches and bunks. There are shelves and hooks for clothes. There should be a bucket under the water, a saucepan (I prefer my own) and a poker. There is electricity and a socket. You provide yourself with water using a bucket from a nearby forest stream. Where is the stream - check with the huntsman. There are several toilets here, all of them are outside.

By the way, the cleanliness of toilets depends on their popularity. Therefore, to make your visit more comfortable, you should find the least popular one. There is also a bathhouse at the cordon, for four people for 4 hours it will cost 1,500 rubles.

Inside a double house

How to get to the viewpoint

If you managed to reach the cordon by 14:00, there is no need to relax. You still have time to go to the viewpoint, which offers a beautiful view of the peaks of Borus.

Observation tower at the viewpoint

Upon entering the house, immediately lay out unnecessary things from the backpack: mat, sleeping bag, food, clothes. This can be done in parallel with a snack. Leave only a thermos, some food, a headlamp and an extra warm jacket. You do not need to heat the stove, but be sure to prepare some bark, wood chips and firewood. It is better to bring them directly into the hut. Firewood is in a huge woodpile. You can take them in any quantity and for free.

It makes sense to go to the view no later than 15:00 to get there before dark and admire the view of the peaks of Borus and neighboring peaks. The path to the viewpoint is 4.7 km, the steepness is approximately the same as along the Laletinskaya road to the Central Pillars pass. A person with a good physical shape can go there no more than an hour and a half. One wide road leads from the cordon to the vigilante itself, which after about 2.5 km comes to a fork, where you need to turn left. There may be a couple of branch paths along the way, but you should always stick to the wide main road.

Vidovka is a metal tower with floors, which can be reached by stairs. Next to it there is an unheated bivouac house where you can have a bite to eat, hide from the wind and, in extreme cases, even spend the night, but without a sleeping bag it will be very cold in winter. There is also an outdoor toilet, a place for a fire and perhaps even a few logs.

In general, there are bivouacs along the entire length of the road to the Pelekhov Pass. Closed house - only on the view. In other places - open tables with benches under the roof. There is almost always a place for a fire and logs nearby. They are specially prepared by rangers, so that in extreme cases people can stop at such bivouacs, warm up and spend the night if it is impossible to go further.

Route to the top

Despite the fact that it is only 11 km from the cordon to Bolshoi Borus, it is best to set out on the path to the main peak no later than 6 in the morning. You can at 7, if you are able to move uphill with a backpack weighing 4-6 kg at a good pace. There will be very few descents and relatively gentle sections to the top.

The first time I came here with my friend, we left at about 9 or 10 in the morning. We walked slowly and took a lot of pictures. As a result, only by 4 p.m. did we reach the plateau before climbing Maly Borus. By that time we were very tired and walked slowly. After another stop, we realized that we would not have time to climb to the top even before dark. I had to make the difficult decision to go down.

Private gazebo on the way to the main peak

There is always a trail to the top of Bolshoi Borus, since the inhabitants of Cheryomushki and Sayanogorsk regularly walk up the mountain or to the Pelekhov Pass. Even a heavy overnight snowfall is unlikely to completely close the trail. In addition, there are colored markings on the trees along the trail leading to the Pelekhov Pass. The route to the top from the cordon is the same as to the viewpoint, but at the first fork we go straight. At the same fork there will be a route map to Bolshoy Borus.

Scheme of trails in the administrative building of the cordon "Talovsky log"

You need to go straight and up the path that goes behind the shield with this scheme. After about 150-200 meters there will be a second gazebo. After about 300 meters there will be the next gazebo with a fork and a sign: to the right - to the waterfall (it freezes until May), to the left - to the Pelekhov pass and the main peak. Here you can relax for a few minutes. You can rest wherever you want, but the more stops, the longer the way up. If you are tired, it is better to slow down, but go anyway.

All the way to the pass, the most difficult will be the last 150-200 meters, which will need to go up steeply with a small horizontal passage in the middle. Despite the steepness, the ascent is quite pedestrian, but you need to be careful and not rush. The reward will be an excellent view from which the Yenisei opens, the hills lying at your feet, and if you look closely, you can also see the tower of the observation deck.

Overview during the ascent to the Pelekhov pass

If you went to the pass at 8-9 in the morning, this is a very good result. A second halt is usually made at the pass. Further descent down to the right, towards the peaks of the Small and Big Borus. The trail goes through the last forest area before the stone plateau. From the forest zone, the trail goes to a kurumnik (heap of stone blocks), rising relatively steeply and leading to a plateau, from which you need to go to the ridge of the Maly Borus. The plateau itself is not difficult, but we must remember about the possibility of falling into the snow. Dips in the snow are the most depressing, because pulling a leg out of the snow takes a lot of strength. Pull your leg carefully and slowly so that it does not get stuck in the stones.

Climbing the slope of Maly Borus to its summit is generally simple and does not require ropes and special climbing equipment. The trail goes approximately along the ridge, in places moving away from the ridge to the right no more than 3-4 meters. But still, be very careful and attentive!

While climbing the ridge to Maly Borus, a couple of times it will seem that here it is - the top! But this, as often happens in the mountains, is only a fake ledge, and the top lies further. Usually it is celebrated - last time there were the remains of ski poles there.

I'm at the top. What to do next?

So, congratulations - you are at the top of Maly Borus. Let your reward be a 10-15 minute rest and a delicious snack with hot tea. You are almost there. It's another hour and a half to the main peak. The trail also goes along the ridge. First you need to go down 100 meters, and then a gradual ascent begins no more difficult than on Maly Borus. Expect to be at the top of Bolshoi Borus no later than 15:00. If you got there earlier, don't rush to run away. Walk from one edge of the top to the other. Find the plaques at the top. Examine the slopes, look around the cardinal points. Enjoy - after all, you came here for this!

View from the top of Bolshoy Borus to Maly Borus and Koshurnikov Peak

When leaving the summit, if possible, pick up someone else's garbage (although it almost never happens there) and in no case leave your own. The return to the cordon follows the same road. If everything is fine and the weather is pleasant, then you will be at the cordon by 20 or 21. Keep in mind that in some sections the descent will be a little more difficult than the ascent.

When is the best time to go to Borus?

You can go to the ridge all year round, but I was there in January, March, April and May. To be honest, the photos of the summer Borus do not impress me. In winter, it’s like being in big mountains! Best in March and April. In general, it is warm, but at the same time, in the morning, when climbing the mountain, the snow is quite dense, so you rarely fall through. In the afternoon, upon returning, you begin to fall through more often, but compared to May, you can say that you are walking along a well-packed path.

What clothes and equipment to take with you?

Depending on the season, dress as if you are going on a weekend hike. But there are nuances. In winter (October - May), shoes should be warm, always worn well under insulated socks. In winter, gaiters (lanterns) must be worn on the feet to prevent snow from entering the shoes.

Mittens will always outperform gloves. Additional protection for the face and head, if necessary, will provide a balaclava. You must have one warm jacket on. It makes sense to take thermal underwear. In a backpack in reserve, it is worth taking spare mittens, insulated socks, and a warm jacket. It is desirable that you, if necessary, could put on socks on socks, a jacket on a jacket, etc. Some will ask: why so many extra things in a backpack? But they are taken just in case of emergency. At night in the mountains it is almost always critically cold.

View of the Yenisei from the top of Bolshoi Borus

You do not need any climbing equipment to climb the described (classical) route to the main peak of Borus. The maximum you can take is trekking poles. Required: a headlamp with a spare set of batteries, matches and a lighter.

Important: some are so sensitive to the sun already at an altitude of just over 2 thousand meters above sea level that they need sunglasses and sunscreen. One of my companions in May, not even having time to reach the top of Maly Borus, began to burn herself in a matter of hours. The volume of the backpack, if you are by car - 40-50 liters, if by bus - 70-85 liters. A first aid kit with painkillers, cold medicines, as well as indigestion, abrasions and simple wounds is also required.

Borus is, although not the highest by the standards of mountaineering, but a real mountain with all the characteristic dangers (with the exception of the glacier).

  • at night in winter it is better not to stay on it without a tent and a sleeping bag.
  • Fog and darkness can lead you off the trail and into difficult sections with cliffs.
  • a squally wind can easily knock down a tired person and freeze exposed parts of the body very quickly.
  • if you move carelessly, you can fall on the kurumnik, getting bruised or broken.

What dangers can threaten you?

There is mobile communication on the mountain, but not everywhere. For example, you can catch a good signal at the Pelekhov Pass itself. Rescuers will reach you even in good weather only a few hours after receiving a signal from you for help. It is important to register with the local Ministry of Emergency Situations or at least at the cordon with the rangers the time of your exit to the mountain and the estimated time of return. Upon your return, do not forget to notify without fail, otherwise they may start looking for you!

And when you feel that you know the area well, you have suitable proven equipment and the necessary physical form, you can try to go to the neighboring peaks: Koshurnikov Peak and Cuban Revolutionary Peak (Durakov Peak). From the last peak, you can also climb Bolshoi Borus and then go down the classic route through Maly Borus.

Happy travels!

A three-day trip to the natural park Shushensky Bor with climbing the Borus ridge, visiting the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station, visiting a trout farm and the Shushensky ethnographic museum.

Krasnoyarsk - Sayanogorsk - Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP - Cheryomushki village - Waterfalls - Pelekhov valley - Small Borus - Big Borus (Poilova town, 2318m) - and arr.

Borus is Mount Poilova on geographical maps, which is located on the northern slope of the Western Sayan, on the right bank of the Yenisei (at its exit to the Minusinsk basin). The ridge consists of several peaks: Small and Big Borus, Koshurnikov and Fools peaks. Above all, Big Borus - 2318 meters above sea level. The name of the ridge was formed from the first letters of the names of the first sports conquerors of the mountain - Borisov and Rusanov. The ridge is about 50 km long and is composed of crystalline schists, serpentinites, and peridotites. On the slopes there is mountain taiga, the peaks are occupied by high mountain tundra. To preserve this unique territory, the Shushensky Bor National Park was created.

An interesting mountain hike, amazing mountain waterfalls, lakes with glacial water, and the absence of insects make the route to the Borus Range attractive for outdoor enthusiasts both in winter and in summer. From the top, a panorama of all nearby surroundings opens up: in the west - the ski resort of the Krasnoyarsk Territory - Mount Gladenkaya, the infinity of the Sayan Mountains in the south, the steppe expanses in the north, in the west in good weather you can even seeErgaki, they are only 130 km from here, and right at the foot of the ridge is, of course, the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station.
The ascent to the top is not difficult, it is a hike along the taiga trail, where there are well-equipped campsites for a halt, the most famous and habitable - "At the Waterfalls", "Pelekhovo" and "Banzai". From the bank of the Yenisei to Vodopadov - about 9 kilometers, to Pelekhovo - 15, and Banzai is located 17 km from the Yenisei. The road to the Waterfalls, located at an altitude of about 1200 meters, will take only one day of leisurely walking. The height of Pelekhovo and Banzai sites is about 1600 meters above sea level.
