An application for the right to become a volunteer of the Confederations Cup and the World Cup can be submitted before the end of the year at dedicated section on FIFA.com. For the first time, Russia will host the final of the 21st World Football Championship 2018 in its cities. This event is less than a year away and the host cities are almost ready for this event. There was one important point - the thorough training of volunteers. How to become a volunteer for the 2018 football championship? What needs to be done for this and where to go to apply? How volunteers are selected

Training program

The purpose of the training is to help novice volunteers acquire important and useful skills and abilities for this job.

Training will be conducted in Moscow volunteer centers. All volunteers will be assigned to these centers and enrolled in training groups. Invitation messages will be sent by email.

The learning sequence is as follows:

Standard training - trainings on the historical values of the Championship, instructions on the organization of events and the rules of work at football matches.
Training in specific areas: medicine, transport, catering and others.

The training lasts for two or three days, without instructing people at the facility (it takes place just before the match).

All volunteers, regardless of areas of activity, will undergo safety procedures. Information about cooperation options with law enforcement agencies, actions in an emergency situation and standard safety procedures is very important for them. The results of the trainings will be recorded in the database of the Russian Organizing Committee, separately for each volunteer. Successful training will determine whether a volunteer will receive accreditation for the World Championship.

Work at the Championship facility

You can start your volunteer duties from May 10, 2018. For any of the directions, the term of work of a volunteer is the same and is 20 days.

This work is considered gratuitous and free. Participants who live in cities hosting Championship matches will be paid for travel from home to work and back. Volunteers can be both Russians and citizens of other states. In total, 5,500 volunteers will be required for the Confederations Cup, and for the World Cup - 15000 . The age of volunteers declared by FIFA is 18-60 years. Volunteer must be of legal age on May 10, 2017(for the Confederations Cup) or May 10, 2018 (for the World Cup) of the year. How to become a volunteer at the 2018 FIFA World Cup?

Volunteer centers are open in all cities where matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held (one in each city, five in Moscow).
