Regnum cat. Kuriles: resuscitation of the Kozyrev formula for the surrender of the Russian islands. Putin will give the South Kuriles to the Japanese before the end of the year

1. Become a participant in a unique event in Russian history

There have already been two Olympics in our century, but the World Cup will most likely remain the only one for the current generation of Russians. To become a volunteer for the 2018 World Cup means to become a part of history, to join what you will later tell your children and grandchildren about.

2. Contribute to the overall success

Russia is a hospitable country, and its image in the world depends on the level of holding such significant events as the World Cup. To make foreign guests feel at home and imbued with a sense of celebration in order to host the best tournament in history and everything went off without a hitch - this is for us, what to hide, almost a national idea. We succeeded with the Olympics in Sochi. The contribution of volunteers is important for repeating this success at the World Cup.

3. Make new acquaintances

Not only football players come to the World Cup, but also hundreds of thousands of guests - fans, journalists, specialists, show business stars. They all need the help of volunteers. Communication may not be limited to individual episodes of the World Cup - making friends in various parts of the world is both pleasant and useful.

4. Develop

Although volunteering is an unpaid profession, it is an invaluable professional experience. Communication, a foreign language, organizational skills - these and many other qualities can be "pumped" through participation in such a large-scale event and special trainings that precede it. Volunteer experience is a great addition to any resume, and for some, the opportunity to fundamentally change the field of activity after that.

5. Need nothing

Volunteers of the Confederations Cup and the World Cup will be provided with everything they need: unique equipment, delicious food, and a transport card. In general, they will become a full-fledged part of the team of tournament organizers.

How to become a volunteer

An application for the right to become a volunteer of the Confederations Cup and the World Cup can be submitted before the end of the year at dedicated section on FIFA.com. There is only one requirement: volunteers wishing to participate in the Confederations Cup - 2017 must be 18 years old by May 10, 2017, and those who want to volunteer at the World Cup must be 18 years old by May 10, 2018. In total, about 5,500 volunteers will take part in the Confederations Cup events, and more than 15,000 volunteers in the 2018 World Cup events.

So, you need to fill out an online application - you will need a passport, a photo and half an hour of free time. Then the selection stage begins with the help of tests for personal qualities, abilities and knowledge of English, as well as interviews - face-to-face or online. The results will be summed up no later than February 2017 for work at the Confederations Cup and no later than February 2018 for the World Cup.
The last stage of preparation for the tournaments is training in 15 volunteer centers in different regions, getting to know the stadiums and other facilities where you will work, and detailed briefing. Trainings, of course, do not take more than 1-2 days, you can visit them without interrupting your main work or study.

What will the volunteers do

There are several areas of activity for volunteers. At the application stage, you can choose the desired field of activity, but it is finally determined by the results of tests and interviews. In the course of them, it will be decided which of the functions in the tournaments the volunteer is more disposed and prepared for.
Volunteers will be engaged in accreditation of officials, implementation of the ticketing program, communication, coordination of the rights and obligations of FIFA sponsors and licensees, meeting, seeing off and accommodating visitors, organizing leisure activities under the Hospitality programs, catering, transportation. Work with the media and official broadcasters, teams, doping control and medical assistance, protocol service, services for fans, translation, opening and closing ceremonies - all these areas are also run by volunteers. Everyone will be able to find what is interesting for him, and come in handy in this matter. Without pathos and exaggeration: volunteers are those without whom the World Cup cannot take place.

What is it like to be a volunteer?

Vlada Krupkina (24 years old, Sochi):
“I started my volunteer work five years ago. In 2012, I participated in the APEC summit as a volunteer, after which I was hired by the Forward Volunteer Training Center. During the Games, in addition to my main job, I was a volunteer at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics and Paralympics, I carried the flag of Greece. It was amazing: standing on the stage surrounded by 40 thousand spectators, watching the awards ceremony of our skiers, the stage below me was shaking with applause!

Tamara Dolgushevskaya (73 years old, St. Petersburg):
“Unforgettable for me was my first volunteer experience at the IOC debriefing (an event where members of the Olympic movement exchange experiences) in Sochi in 2010. Then there were London 2012, Sochi 2014, and other wonderful sports festivals. We all enthusiastically received the news that we would host the World Championships and, and already in July 2015 I became a volunteer in the group of translators at the preliminary draw for the World Championships. Volunteering captured me so much that there is no time to think about my years and ailments!”

Vladislav Gmyrin (24 years old, Saransk):
“Most of all I remember the 2013 Universiade in Kazan. There my activity was connected with my professional specialty as a doctor. I was responsible for athletics: I had to monitor the health of athletes after the finish. And it was interesting not only in terms of professional experience, it was also a great opportunity to work together with famous Russian athletes. Volunteering developed in me the desire to become a sports doctor, and now I am a doctor’s assistant at the Mordovia football club, I am responsible for the youth team.”

The FIFA World Cup is no less important sporting event than the Olympic Games. An organization of this scale also requires a lot of expenses, both material and physical. Many people are involved in this action, among which volunteers occupy an important part of the organizational process - they help to solve social and public issues.

For the first time, Russia will host the final of the 21st World Football Championship 2018 in its cities. This event is less than a year away and the host cities are almost ready for this event. There was one important point - the thorough training of volunteers. How to become a volunteer for the 2018 football championship? What needs to be done for this and where to go to apply? How old do you have to be to volunteer? We will reveal the answers to these and other questions in this article.

Volunteer Training Centers for FIFA 2018

It is planned to recruit about 15 thousand people who are ready to become volunteers at the World Championship (WCH) next year. But as practice shows, there may be five times more people who want to get such an opportunity than is necessary. That is why competitive selection decides everything.

Those who wish to sign up as volunteers for the 2018 World Cup need to submit an electronic application on the FIFA website. In addition, it will be necessary to undergo training in volunteer training centers organized for this purpose. A total of 15 such centers will be opened in Russia, five of which are already operating in Moscow. Other centers will operate in cities that will also host World Cup matches:

The Organizing Committee of the World Cup 2018 informs that the main objectives of the volunteering program are: attracting the population, competitive selection, training for potential volunteers and the qualitative organization of their work.

It is very important to indicate the reason for your desire to become a volunteer - it is advisable to fully disclose this answer to this question.

Additionally, it is proposed to choose the areas in which you would like to work: catering, transport, teamwork, operational marketing, media support and much more.

The final question in the questionnaire is: “Will you agree to be a member of the volunteer program in eleven cities of Russia if you do not qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup?”

How volunteers are selected

Checking potential volunteers is a responsible matter, like all preparations for football, and requires care. Selection stages:

Training program

The purpose of the training is to help novice volunteers acquire important and useful skills and abilities for this job.

Training will be conducted in Moscow volunteer centers. All volunteers will be assigned to these centers and enrolled in training groups. Invitation messages will be sent by email.

The learning sequence is as follows:

  1. Standard training - trainings on the historical values of the Championship, instructions on the organization of events and the rules of work at football matches.
  2. Training in specific areas: medicine, transport, catering and others.
  3. Conducting training at the facility itself: instructions and rules for the work of volunteers on the ground.

The training lasts for two or three days, without instructing people at the facility (it takes place just before the match).

All volunteers, regardless of areas of activity, will undergo safety procedures. Information about cooperation options with law enforcement agencies, actions in an emergency situation and standard safety procedures is very important for them. These instructions will be carried out by representatives of special departmental departments.

The results of the trainings will be recorded in the database of the Russian Organizing Committee, separately for each volunteer. Successful training will determine whether a volunteer will receive accreditation for the World Championship.

Work at the Championship facility

You can start your volunteer duties from May 10, 2018. For any of the directions, the term of work of a volunteer is the same and is 20 days.

This work is considered gratuitous and free. Participants who live in cities hosting Championship matches will be paid for travel from home to work and back. The organizers will also provide volunteers with free meals and new uniforms. Other participants who do not live in the above cities participating in the tournaments must pay for travel to the city and accommodation for the duration of the matches.

As memorable gifts, souvenir badges will be given to all volunteers, and at a special event after the closing of the ceremony, the management will present gratitude to all who participated.

As a result of this large-scale event, volunteers will gain invaluable experience that they gained during trainings and direct work at tournaments. It will also allow you to learn how to work in a team, make connections and make useful contacts, which will later help you build your professional career, and maybe your personal life.

The FIFA World Cup is one of the largest international forums, which attracts participants and spectators from all over the world every four years. Preparation, organization and holding of the tournament require colossal material and human resources. Volunteers play an important role. Despite the seemingly frivolous status, these are people to whom certain requirements are put forward, they are seriously trained and selected.

In preparation for the 2018 World Cup and the 2017 Confederations Cup, which will be held in Russia, a variety of specialists are involved. But most of the organizational functions will be taken over by volunteers - cheerful and active people who will meet guests, issue accreditations, work as translators, provide fans and tournament participants with food, medical care and much more.

Who are the 2018 World Cup volunteers, who can take part in the movement, and what functions the volunteers will perform - we will talk about this in this material.

However, it is not necessary to know English at the native level, free communication with foreigners is necessary only for some areas.

Volunteer Functions

The volunteer program includes 20 main areas. They can differ significantly from each other in terms of functions, so the requirements for candidates may be different. For example, for volunteers working in stadiums and broadcasting centers, an advanced level of English is required to issue accreditations. Among the volunteers there are translators who speak other languages and have experience in interpreting. But for catering (catering), these skills are not required.

You can find a complete list of functions that volunteers perform on this page. You need to know them if you are going to apply for participation, because you have to make your own choice of one of the directions. On the same page, the requirements for candidates for each of the specialties are also indicated. A plus will be the skills and experience in the chosen areas, as well as the experience of volunteering.
