The next concert of the Main Metal-Yolka of the country will be the eleventh. Traditionally, the intrigue lies in the list of participants, and this time their line-up turned out to be really bright. Performing for you will be EIHWAZ, a brilliant symphonic metal band that is distinguished by beautiful female vocals and melodic heavy music. The group shared the stage with a lot of the most famous bands, and for the visitors of the upcoming concert they will present their best compositions. Visitors will also be pleased with the ANDEM group, a distinctive feature of which is the participation of two vocalists at once.

The team will celebrate its 10th anniversary at the concert, so they have prepared a really interesting and rich program. The stars of numerous major festivals, the GRAND COURAGE group, will also take the stage. Arthur Bierut, known for his participation in Aria, will also perform. The traditional participant of the concert and its ideological inspirer is the CATHARSIS band. The band's performance will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of their creative activity, so it will give the audience a lot of surprises.

The meeting place has been the same for many years. In a row, this will be the 13th Metal-Yolka, but don't let the number 13 scare you. No one plans any outrages beyond measure, and in general this wonderful number with a mystical tinge has always got along well with metal music, hasn't it? Nevertheless, it seems to oblige to approach the brightest New Year's rock festival a little more "brutally", and therefore we announce with undisguised pleasure that the co-headliner of the evening FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE FESTIVAL will be the "living legend" of Russian metal, the group MASTER!

The team is preparing a special program for Metal-Yolka, in which, in addition to popular hits, something very unusual will sound. Something new?.. Something festive?.. What exactly - you will find out only on JANUARY 1!

The permanent organizer and inventor of this long-term New Year's undertaking was and remains exclusively positive comrades from the creative team of CATHARSIS, preparing special New Year's numbers, inviting various guests, and creating an atmosphere of a real holiday.

Having presented a new single in the autumn in a "theatrical" atmosphere, on January 1 the band will present it in a more familiar "drive-concert" setting and prepare something new and unusually festive. It's also worth noting that CATHARSIS has no live plans for the near future and is busy preparing a new album, so the show on January 1 is a rare chance to see CATHARSIS on stage.

Another member, the group of Sergei MAVRIN, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018. Who did not have time to congratulate the guys on a big event or wants to do it again - on January 1 you will have a great chance.

Well, what is a holiday without beautiful singing young ladies? Having updated the composition in 2018, the Moscow group ANDEM has largely updated its repertoire. At the Metal-Yolka the band will appear in an updated form and with an updated program, which promises to be a real decoration of the evening.

METAL-Yolka in the club "ARKTIKA": did you manage to break away?

How are you preparing for the New Year? So we started to recharge with New Year's mood at METAL-YoLKA in the club "ARKTIKA", which took place on December 28th. And charged, to be honest, for the glory!
So, in order.

The beginning of the event was announced at 16.00. With a clear conscience, we decided not to rush and not come on time, as we were sure that, according to tradition, the concert would start later. However, at the entrance to the club, we heard powerful guitar parts and realized: alas, we missed the beginning of the concert. While handing over clothes to the cloakroom, we heard among the visitors the question: “What kind of woman is singing there?” The question surprised me. The voice resounding from the concert hall was quite recognizable: Andrey Mashoshin from the Abordazh group. The vocals, of course, are high and clear, but, in my opinion, they don’t look like women at all.

So, we went to the hall, where the Abordazh group was already playing with might and main. As it turned out, the concert started almost on time, the delay was only 10 minutes. There were quite a few people in the hall, but what was happening on stage demonstrated the high level of the group: expressive performance, combined with incredible energy and feedback from the audience, in general, it was impossible to get bored, the professionalism of the musicians is obvious (which is understandable, because the group is already 15 years). Melodious, lyrical songs were replaced by invigorating compositions about beer (the audience took it with a bang), pirates and other movement. Everyone came off: the audience in the hall, and, of course, the musicians on the stage. I was pleased that during the breaks between songs, the musicians communicated with the audience all the time, set a positive mood and lit up the hall with their energy!

After the band's performance, we followed the musicians into the dressing room to interview them (and you'll have a chance to read it soon). They received us quite friendly and even treated us to tangerines, although they did not always answer questions seriously, in general, they demonstrated their pirate essence in every possible way. Actually, while we were talking with Abordage, a few more bands managed to perform backstage on the stage, which, according to the listeners, were also on the level: BarBie LinGerie (metalcore/nu-metal) and Lyra (power/heavy metal). When we returned to the concert hall, there were much more guests, in a cheerful mood they either made their way to the stage, where they arranged a full trash, or rested in the bar. Meanwhile, the dark band DORGMOOTH (Melodic Death Metal) took over the scene. It was worth a quick glance at the scene, and a strong association with Children of Bodom appeared: the vocalist with a powerful growl, as if he had just arrived from Scandinavia, contributed to this 100%. Aggressive music combined with no less aggressive vocals and melodic sounding of the keys made a rather high impression. Well, the guys withstood the style by 5 points. It is impossible not to note the performance of the song "Little Christmas Tree ...", of course, the group performed it without departing from their style, and it turned out great! One of the compositions was accompanied by a light show from the theater of light and fire Pulsar, which diversified the performance and added brightness and festivity.

In general, the performance hooked us, and it became interesting for us to ask the guys a few questions about Melodic Death Metal on the Russian stage (wait for the interview, again). Meanwhile, Vergeltung and STALWART continued to charge the hall with positive emotions: the crowd was getting bigger, especially as the performance of the headliners - Illidiance (or in the common people "Lollipops") was approaching.

The evening was drawing to a close. We froze in anticipation of the headliner, a group from Taganrog - ILLIDIANCE, but we already managed to talk with the guys (we took a very interesting interview, it will be soon, stay on our portal!) To be honest, knowing about the high level of the group and their popularity in Russia and Europe, a little worried and wary of PAPHOS. Well, it didn't exist at all! The guys (Artem and Dima) are very sociable, friendly and pleasant, communication with them was one of the most positive impressions of the concert!

The band plays Cyber ​​Metal. It is fair to consider ILLIDIANCE the leader of this trend on the Russian stage, because I have not yet met equal in terms of sound quality and literacy of material presentation. The long-awaited guests finally took the stage, the hall burst into applause. Everyone has been waiting for ILLIDIANCE's performances for a very long time and now they have waited! The spectacle was enchanting! However, fans of the group have long understood that it cannot be otherwise with this team. The guys made a great New Year's gift. A powerful charge of energy with rays of charisma tore and blew the roof off the Arktika. Brothers Artem (Syrex) and Dmitry (Xyrohn) Shkurins - the leaders of the group - bring everything to perfection, and the perfectionism of the new tracks of the EP "DEFORMITY" is a confirmation of this. The gifts from ILLIDIANCE did not end there, the song Fading Away sounded especially for the girls of St. Petersburg, and for the guys of St. Petersburg there was a dance support consisting of two beautiful “ladies in leather”. The combination of rigidity of sound and plasticity of movements of the female body always captivates and attracts the male eye. The performance lasted about half an hour, for a group of this magnitude, of course, this is not enough.

The return is full, the energy is the most powerful, the glow is the very best! Everyone came off: they danced, jumped, shouted, asked for more (including us)! But then ... it's time to close the club! The program had to be cut down to you understand to what extent the high indignation of the public, and the musicians themselves, who had just got a taste of it! Exclamations of discontent and even despair swept through the hall. But the musicians assured that they would come to us again soon - and more than once. In general, the guests had no choice but to wander dejectedly to the wardrobe, well, or to the bar, who was on what much.

Well, we caught our breath a little and also went to the exit. If we evaluate the evening from our point of view, then it passed by 5 points! We had a great time and talked with the musicians, who turned out to be very pleasant and interesting people, completely devoid of pathos, energized and prepared for the New Year to the fullest! If we evaluate the concert from the point of view of the listener, the sound, unfortunately, is not 5 points, but everyone in the Arktika has long come to terms with this. Well, from the point of view of a party-goer, there are wonderful bands with which everyone could talk, and listeners “in the know”, in general, everyone had a great time this evening!
