(April May)

Halong Bay is located in the north of the country. About 150 kilometers from Hanoi. This beautiful, unusual place is best explored on a cruise ship. From April to May you can enjoy clean, warm water and go down into the caves. Many films have been filmed in this area, including Indochina and Tomorrow Never Dies. The love of cinema for Halong can be explained by the presence of a beautiful landscape. Being in this place, be sure to visit one of the national restaurants. In part, the bay is included in the top 10 resorts in Vietnam, because it has excellent cuisine. Be sure to try one of the local delicacies. You will definitely be impressed by sweet and sour fish in sugar. Unusual houses, a huge zoo and a chain of shops for shopping deserve attention.

(December-April)

To this day, many residents call this resort Saigon. Actually, many Americans, too, because for them this direction is not new in tourism. This can be explained by the fact that this city is the main attraction of the southern part of the country. Ho Chi Minh City is one of the most popular resorts in Vietnam, because it is interesting here both day and night. You have to get acquainted with the colonial buildings of the last century, modern skyscrapers, a variety of shopping centers and offices. I was impressed by the former Presidential Palace, the creativity of local architects, Dong Hoi boutiques. If you love history, be sure to go down to the Cu Chi tunnel, where the partisans spent a lot of time. If you come on vacation with children, visit the Mekong and the snake nursery. In the evening, life rages inexorably in the city center: bright lights, beer bars, restaurants on the roofs of hotels. It is very fun and interesting here due to the variety of discos. Subjective opinion: this resort is in no way inferior to Bangkok in terms of entertainment program.

(January-August)

Among the best resorts in Vietnam for a holiday in January are Hoi An and Da Nang. The latter city attracts with the presence of an international airport. Despite the excellent ecology, it is considered the fourth largest settlement in the country and the center of industry. While in this place, head to the famous China Beach for a mass experience. This is a center for surfing and youth parties. In 40 kilometers you will be able to call in Hoi An. This town has a huge number of temples, shops with souvenirs. In total, about 850 monuments are concentrated in the open spaces of this settlement. If you are traveling by car, take the time to drive to Hue City. Here is the imperial capital in the style of "Indiana Jones".

(January-August)

Among the resorts of Vietnam for families, Nha Trang is popular among Russian tourists, which can be visited from January to August. For 2019, it is included in the Top 30 most beautiful bays on our planet. This direction is developing very quickly, new hotels appear. Therefore, you won't be bored. There are restaurants for every taste, for every budget of the hotel. Among the attractions, it is necessary to emphasize the beauty of temple sets, pagodas and statues, including Buddha. There are decent discos for young people, top DJs come here. Actually, many are pleased with the variety of inexpensive alcohol. The beaches are clean, and this is confirmed by the huge number of jellyfish near the coast.

(January-April)

The rating of resorts in Vietnam in 2019 replenishes Phan Thiet - a great place to relax in February. This is the complete opposite of the above place. The fact is that here you can relax for a loyal price, as accommodation is inexpensive, as well as food. Most of the hotels have 3 stars. At the same time, the environment deserves respect - clean beaches, beautiful nature, romantic atmosphere. An excellent choice for couples who are tired from work and want to spend time together. Here you can see, as they say, the sky in diamonds. Surely, fans of cozy surroundings will be able to enjoy a variety of seafood cuisine and ice-cold beer. And sun-weary tourists will enjoy an active holiday at sea. The downside is that the nearest airport is about 6 hours away.

(January-April)

If you are still thinking about which Vietnamese resort to visit in 2019, be sure to consider Mui Ne as an alternative option. Here you can relax in winter and spring. The prices are very loyal for active sports, breakfasts, lunches and accommodation. Kitesurf only costs $70. At the same time, surfers from all over the world come here because of the huge waves. It is worth noting that there are many domestic chefs in Mui Ne. You can find a place where you will be fed borscht, soup or dumplings. In the city center you will find a variety of beauty salons, SPA centers and many souvenir shops. The prices are democratic.

(November-June)

The top of the best resorts in Vietnam should include another Phu Quoc island, located just 15 kilometers from the coast of Cambodia. You should already have an idea of how beautiful this place is. Words cannot describe. Phu Quoc is the largest island in the country, its size is close to that of Singapore. Of course, this place is more to the liking of active tourists who can fully appreciate trekking in the jungle, kayaking, and enjoy an excursion to the pearl factory. However, it is very beautiful here, so lovers can also find the bright side in traveling around the island. It is worth adding that there is a casino, many golf courses.

(December-April)

No wonder ambitious officials from Vietnam want to make Con Dao a competitor for Thai Phuket. The fact is that the Vietnamese resort is located on an island in the South China Sea archipelago. And, despite the fact that even Marco Polo described the greatness of these islands, only now they are truly loved by travelers, including those from the CIS. The name of the skeleton was due to the presence of the most severe prison in the state. Currently, in addition to this extravagant attraction, there is the best hotel complex called Six Senses, several dive hotels and the National Park. Lots of good fishing spots.

Vietnam today is one of the most popular destinations for international tourism. Although a few years ago he did not enjoy such success with domestic tourists. What attracts crowds of travelers to mysterious Vietnam? The description of the resorts will help answer this question. Connoisseurs of culture and relaxation can visit Long Son Pagoda. The temple was built at the end of the 19th century, but a strong storm completely destroyed it. The remains of the pagoda were moved to a safe location and restored. Monks live in the pagoda. This is a place of amazing beauty. It is also notable for the fact that on the top of the mountain, to which 150 steps lead, there is a majestic statue of the sleeping Buddha. The best resorts in Vietnam are located in the south of the country. The city of Phan Thiet is rightfully considered one of them. It ranks second in popularity among tourists. This place is very attractive for those who love the warm sea and moderate sun. Along the entire coast of Phan Thiet there are many hotels that accept guests with different incomes. At the top of the lighthouse there is an observation deck with a picturesque view of the coast and the sea. In Vietnam, this is the most beautiful and largest lighthouse.

Resorts of Vietnam: reviews

Vietnam is very popular among Russian-speaking tourists. This country is considered quite cheap, but at the same time luxurious in terms of service and natural wealth. Some prefer to visit only the resorts of Vietnam. The prices here are reasonable, and the quality of rest is on top. The only drawback that confuses travelers is the rainy season. But if you choose the right time for rest, then these inconveniences can be avoided. According to the guests of the country, it has everything you need to please vacationers. The sea, the sun, beautiful beaches, interesting places, and, most importantly, friendly locals who are happy to speak Russian if necessary. Tourists advise everyone Vietnam. The description of the country's resorts in the article will help you make a choice.

Located on the banks of the Red River. This city is one of the most attractive options for curious tourists visiting Asian countries every year.

Despite the location of the city on the river, the beach coast is at a considerable distance from Hanoi. To relax on the surrounding beaches, you need to overcome about 100 or more kilometers.

People who visit Hanoi to swim in the ocean waters and sunbathe on the beach coast should choose one of the best and most popular beaches in the urban area.

REFERENCE! Each beach is distinguished by its own characteristics, stands out with natural landscapes and has its own infrastructure.

Among them are Do Son Beach Complex, Thing Long Beach, Bai Chay City, Tuan Chau and Cat Ba Islands, the famous Halong Bay, as well as beach resorts in Dashon and Shamshon.

Do Son

The length of the beach strip called Do Son is 22.5 km. In the summer, this beach has a lot of locals and Vietnamese tourists. Pleasant fine sand and sandalwood trees growing along the river, mountain landscapes and pine hills attract everyone who wants to relax and refresh themselves in the river waters.

IMPORTANT! The salt level in the Do Son beach river is considered to be almost ideal: in such water, the skin is protected from sunburn, so you can swim in it even on a hot afternoon.

In addition, the beach complex has a rapidly developing infrastructure. Each visitor of "Do Son", if desired, can:
  • taste fresh seafood at a nearby restaurant;
  • buy delicious food and enjoy a meal right on the coast;
  • visit the casino and test your luck.

Thing Long

Another beach in the vicinity of Hanoi, Thing Long, is not large in size, its length is only 3 km. However, soft sand and casuarina trees, framing the entrance to the clear waters of the ocean, do not leave the area unattended by tourists.

It is Thing Long, located in the village of Nha Trang, that is famous for the incomparable landscapes of the Vietnamese coast.

Since this sandy corner is not affected by the hot Asian winds, the climatic conditions on the beach are especially favorable for relaxation. The summer breeze creates light waves that delight everyone who wants to surf, and also saves from the baking sun.

Thing Long does not differ in developed infrastructure, however, every visitor to the beach has the opportunity to spend time with benefit. Among the types of active recreation are:

  • canoe rental where you can see the rocky coast;
  • fishing, with which local residents from nearby fishing villages will gladly help the tourist.

City Bai Chay

Bai Chay Beach Complex, located in the city of the same name, is located near the world-famous Halong Bay. Hundreds of tourists visit the place every year.

The coast of Bai Chay is a well-groomed sandy beaches located near rocky mountains and cliffs. Transparent water and picturesque landscapes, almost untouched by human hands, remain forever in the memory of every visitor to the beach.

Despite the natural beauty of the coast, outdoor activities are provided for everyone thanks to the developed infrastructure of the town:

  • rental of water skis, surfboards, canoes;
  • Hoang Gia Park with picturesque sights;
  • royal water park, equipped with various attractions for adults and children;
  • a night market where you can buy useful and memorable souvenirs.

Tuan Chau Island

Tuan Chau Beach, like the entire island with the same name, where the sandy strip is located, attracts not only tourists and travelers.

On the coast there are modern equipped villas for a luxurious holiday for residents and guests of Vietnam.

The beach strip of Tuan Chau is quite wide, it has all the conditions for a comfortable stay for visitors.

The resort city has opened a shopping and entertainment complex for annually arriving tourists, where visitors have the opportunity to watch sea animals - seals, dolphins - on any day.

They also regularly hold laser shows, broadcast film sessions. Elite restaurants will allow each guest to enjoy exotic cuisine.
The Tuan Chau beach itself will interest all nature lovers, as on its territory there are:

  • Botanical Garden;
  • center of wild marine nature;
  • travel agencies providing the opportunity to visit Halong Bay.

Cat Ba Island

The Cat Ba beach complex on the island of the same name consists of several sandy strips on the coast of Halong Bay, connected by a cliff. Tourists have the opportunity to walk throughout the island, refresh themselves in cool and clean water.

There are enough places on the island that allow travelers to feel comfortable. Hotels, elite restaurants, cafes and bars are built near the beaches. In addition, everyone is given the opportunity to use cozy chalets and comfortable bungalows, which will make a romantic vacation unforgettable.

halong bay

The notorious Halong Bay itself is also a great option for spending time on the sandy coasts of the beaches. This corner of Vietnam is one of the most beautiful natural places on the planet.

Transparent waters, soft sand, tropical islands and rocky mountains await all travelers and beach lovers.

Each beach complex has a new infrastructure, which allows guests to:

  • rent a boat and see the paintings created by nature;
  • test yourself in diving;
  • go on excursions to the most famous corners of the planet - in Halong Bay, in a floating village;
  • try local seafood delicacies.

Coastal zone of Dashon and Shamshon

Among the less popular places on the coast of Vietnam, but also noteworthy for beach tourists, it is worth paying attention to the cities of Da Son and Chamshon.

Dashon - resort area, where beach complexes are equipped with everything necessary: each visitor can rent umbrellas, sun loungers and various types of river transport. Near the beaches there are bars, restaurants and cafes familiar to residents of megacities.

Shamshon - a small port city often overlooked by travelers. However, visitors to the beaches of Shamshon will forever remember their clear water and picturesque nature. The sandy strips are well-groomed and preserved, the level of ecology of the coast is also at a high level.

How to get there?

The beach towns around Hanoi are far enough away the road to them takes from 2 to 5 hours.

Do Son Beach, famous among residents and tourists of Vietnam, is 105 km from industrial Hanoi. At the same time, 20 km from the coast there is a large million-plus city of Hai Phong, through which it is recommended to get to the beach.

ATTENTION! Tourists have the opportunity to use public transport - a bus, or a taxi to get from Hanoi to Haiphong, and then rent a vehicle there and go straight to the beach.

Thing Long is located closer - the beach from Hanoi is only 80 km away. The best way to travel is by rented car with a driver who knows the way to Nha Trang village. An alternative budget way of driving is to rent a motorcycle or scooter, on which you should get on your own, armed with a map or navigator.

To the small town of Bai Chay, the road from the capital of Vietnam stretches for about 100 km to the northeast. You can also get there by using local transport - bus, taxi, rented car or motorcycle.

Tuan Chau is located 160 km east of Hanoi. The beaches of the resort town can be reached by any land transport, you just have to prepare in advance for a fairly long road.

IMPORTANT! Halong is regularly served by tourist and public transport from Hanoi, as the bay is one of the world's attractions, where thousands of travelers visit every year. You can visit the Ha Long Islands by using the services of travel companies offering excursions to them.

The city of Dashon is located 3 hours (approximately 200 km) from Hanoi, as is the city of Shamshon. You can get to them using the services of comfortable public transport that goes directly to the cities, or a taxi.

Video review

Watch an interesting video clip about the bay and Halong Beach:

Beach holidays in Hanoi are not common, but in its vicinity, everyone has a chance to soak up the sun and plunge into the clear ocean water. It is important to calculate the time and choose the most convenient travel option, then a vacation on the coast of Vietnam will forever remain in your memory.

This post is a logical continuation of the story about the "major Vietnamese resorts", in which I tried to give a complete picture of the most popular Vietnamese cities that are suitable for tourist recreation.

Rating of the best resorts in Vietnam

Choosing the best Vietnamese cities for a beach holiday is a rather difficult task, because for every tourist the word “best” has its own meaning. The table lists the most popular, and the desired time to visit them.

beach resorts

This table lists the best beach resorts in Vietnam, and indicates the preferred time to visit them. Some cities are great for combining seaside holidays and short trips on excursions.

Excursion resorts

Most of the cities listed in this table do not have a sea, but there are historical and natural attractions. When planning a visit, be sure to look at the seasonality, here a lot depends on the weather.

Nha Trang

Nha Trang is the most visited resort city in Vietnam, it is really perfect for the role of the best, it has everything that a tourist needs for a vacation.

An excellent city beach, which is more than 7 kilometers long, a large selection of hotels, including island ones, nightlife, Russian restaurants and local markets.

Near Nha Trang there is a whole island of entertainment (Vinperl), the resort also has an abundance of inexpensive excursions, the presence of historical sights (Long Son temple, Cham towers), and the international airport is a 20-minute drive from the city.

The list of advantages is endless, so Nha Trang can rightly be considered the best place to relax.

Phan Thiet Mui Ne

Phan Thiet Mui Ne can also be considered one of the best resort cities in Vietnam, and here's why. Recently, several expensive hotels have been built in Mui Ne, which are located on the first line (not across the road, but right on the seashore). Mui Ne is calm and very colorful, it also has its own local attractions (red and white dunes, the fishing village of Mui Ne, etc.).

Mui Ne is very specific and not suitable for everyone, it is boring here (in fact, it is a village with one street) and there is absolutely nothing to do in the evenings, after 11 pm all life falls asleep. Not everyone will like the sea, the constant wind and big waves can bring true joy to those who are engaged in wind surfing, but cause problems for other vacationers.

Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc Island deserves a special mention, a holiday on this tropical island is ideal for relaxing in the shade of palm trees. There is no vibrant nightlife on the island with discos and noisy clubs, and vacationers here are a little different, but all the necessary tourist infrastructure is present.

Phu Quoc Island is washed by the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand, which guarantees colorful diving in amazingly clear water (there is definitely no such water in Nha Trang). If you have no desire to dive under water, then you can go on one of the exciting excursions (black pepper plantation, pearl farm, etc.) around the picturesque island or spend the whole day on one of the magnificent beaches of the island.

Hoi An

This beach resort perfectly combines white sand beaches and the opportunity to visit the most picturesque of the Vietnamese cities, which is listed by UNESCO. And from the picturesque beaches to the historical center is only 5 kilometers. In the old town, you can have a great time in local cafes or go shopping, which can perfectly diversify a beach holiday.

Be sure to take an excursion to the islands of the Ku Lao Cham archipelago, during which you will visit the largest island of this archipelago, Hon Lao Island. Hon Lao Island is amazing in every way, there are excellent diving and snorkeling in coastal waters, local beaches are picturesque, and there are few tourists here. If you like it here, then you can return to the island without an excursion, a state ferry runs from the port in Hoi An to Hon Lao Island.

Danang

A beach holiday in Da Nang itself may disappoint you (usually there are a lot of Chinese and Vietnamese tourists), but there are really high-quality hotels with private beaches and a high level of service near Da Nang, here you will definitely like it.

Most of the expensive hotels in the suburbs of Da Nang are located on the first line and have their own beach, where there are no casual vacationers. Pay your attention to the area of the Nui Son Tra peninsula, which is also called Monkey Mountain. Here is one of the most expensive hotel complexes in all of Da Nang - InterContinental Danang Resort

Rating of the best beach resorts in Vietnam

With a tropical climate and warm seas, all Vietnamese beach resorts can be good places to spend your holidays, but each city has its pros and cons. In this part of the post, we will look at the main beach towns (there are not so many of them).

Nha Trang - Beach Resort #1

Nha Trang is not the ideal beach resort, but the city is great for most tourists, many regularly return to this Vietnamese city.

Nha Trang has everything you need for a beach holiday, there is a good sandy beach, many hotels and a well-developed tourist service. For tourists with children, there is a whole entertainment island (Winperl entertainment island) with attractions, a water park, a show program, etc.

Pros of Nha Trang as a beach resort:

  • good beach;
  • a large selection of hotels;
  • the proximity of the international airport;
  • there is an amusement park "Winperl".

Cons of Nha Trang as a beach resort:

  • dirty and noisy in places;
  • in the northern part of the city beach, a dirty river flows into the sea;
  • Nha Trang is a fairly large city;
  • thieves and other petty swindlers trade in the city, there is no serious crime here (this is not Rio for you).

Halong bay

Ha Long Bay is the hallmark of northern Vietnam, most tourists tend to see this amazingly beautiful bay. Unfortunately, apart from the natural beauties of Halong Bay itself, there is nothing to see here, so this resort is not particularly popular with our compatriots.

During the winter months in this region, the air temperature can drop to +10 degrees, so Halong cannot be called an ideal beach resort.

Pros of Halong Bay as a beach resort:

  • there are good beaches;
  • very beautiful bay;
  • good transport accessibility.

Cons of Halong Bay as a beach resort:

  • too little season;
  • many tourists;
  • few good beaches.

Da Nang resort

Whether Da Nang can be considered a beach resort is a moot point. There are really good beaches in Da Nang, one of which is China Beach, it even got into the Forbes magazine rating as the most attractive beach in the world. Da Nang has a tourist infrastructure and an excellent transport system (international airport, railway station, intercity bus station, seaport).

In the immediate vicinity of the city there are some of the most visited historical sights of Vietnam (Hoi An city, the imperial capital of Hue, the ruins of Mai Son). In the immediate vicinity of the city is one of the best water parks in Vietnam - Danang Water Park.

But it is worth remembering that Da Nang is a large industrial city with all the consequences, so Russian tourists do not stay on its beaches for a long time, but use the city as a transit point on their journey.

Pros of Da Nang as a beach resort:

  • good tourist infrastructure;
  • good beaches;
  • the presence of historical sights in the vicinity of the city;
  • excellent transport accessibility.

Cons of Da Nang as a beach resort:

  • large industrial city;
  • too many local tourists and tourists from China;
  • expensive accommodation.

Vung Tau

The sandy beaches of Vung Tau attract tourists, but the presence in the neighborhood of such a metropolis as Ho Chi Minh City makes the rest uncomfortable. Basically, most vacationers in Vung Tau are Vietnamese who come here from Ho Chi Minh City for a weekend or vacation.

Pros of Vung Tau as a beach resort:

  • good infrastructure;
  • there is a choice of hotels;
  • good shopping;
  • good transport accessibility (from Ho Chi Minh City by water in an hour).

Cons of Vung Tau as a beach resort:

  • there are many industrial enterprises in the city;
  • the city is dirty;
  • the Mekong River brings a lot of garbage that nails to city beaches;
  • many local tourists.

Longhai

Long Hai Beach Resort is a secluded place for rest and relaxation in the most tranquil tourist destination in Vietnam. The city is located 30 kilometers from the popular tourist site of Vung Tau, there is an atmosphere of calm and serenity.

Holidays in the Longhai resort are suitable for a relaxing family holiday, there are local attractions in the vicinity, but basically all the entertainment is the sea, the beach and the surrounding nature.

Pros of Long Hai as a beach resort:

  • uncrowded beaches;
  • calm environment;
  • good hotels.

Cons of Long Hai as a beach resort:

  • boring and monotonous rest;
  • distance from the airport.

Phan Thiet Mui Ne

Mui Ne is perfect for a relaxing family holiday on the sandy beaches of this tropical village. In Mui Ne, you can practice water sports all day long, and for those who are not familiar with kite and wind surfing, there is an opportunity to learn, there are several excellent kite and wind surfing schools in the village.

Be sure to go to dinner every evening at BoKe street cafes, they have the freshest and most delicious seafood.

Pros of Phan Thiet Mui Ne as a beach resort:

  • good beaches;
  • excellent conditions for water sports;
  • relaxed atmosphere of a family resort.

Cons of Phan Thiet Mui Ne as a beach resort:

  • no airport (the nearest one is in Ho Chi Minh City, it takes 5 hours by bus);
  • no nightlife (after 11 o'clock everyone is already asleep);
  • there are often strong waves and wind.

Phu Quoc Island

Beach holidays on the island of Phu Quoc are considered by many to be the best in Vietnam, but there are also disadvantages. Most of the island is surrounded by tropical greenery, while there is all the necessary tourist infrastructure. Holidays in Phu Quoc are suitable for lovers of a quiet leisurely pastime, there are several excellent places for diving and snorkeling near the island, you can go on an eco hike in the jungle or go on an excursion to a plantation where black pepper is grown. But such a vacation can quickly get bored.

Pros of Phu Quoc Island as a beach resort:

  • calm beach holiday;
  • good hotels on the first line;
  • the best place for diving and snorkeling;
  • great beaches.

Cons of Phu Quoc Island as a beach resort:

  • there are no direct flights, you will have to fly with a transfer;
  • rather expensive resort;
  • very simple tourist infrastructure, everything is very modest.

Which Vietnamese resort to go to, and at what time of the year

Before you buy a ticket, be sure to read my post about weather conditions in Nha Trang, because the vast majority of Russians choose this particular seaside resort for the New Year holidays. If the air ticket has already been bought and the hotel has been booked, then you should not worry too much, because in addition to the sea in Vietnam you can find a lot of interesting things.

In this part of the post I will try to briefly talk about the weather in the most popular Vietnamese resorts among our compatriots. In order for the story to be short and informative, I have chosen the most popular months for holidays (November, December and January).

What happens in Vietnamese resorts in November

In November, all Vietnamese cities are suitable for a comfortable stay, perhaps only with the exception of the tropical island of Phu Quoc and the resort of Vung Tau, but even there in early November the weather can be disgusting.

  • Vung Tau - air temperature +28 +29 degrees, there may be rare rains, muddy sea;
  • Phu Quoc - air temperature +30 +32 degrees, clear, transparent sea;
  • Nha Trang - air temperature +26 +28 degrees, cloudy, heavy rains, windy, muddy, turbulent sea;
  • Hue - air temperature +22 +24 degrees, cloudy, heavy wind, rain, there is a possibility of typhoons;

  • Hanoi - air temperature +18 +20 degrees, partly cloudy, there is a slight chance of rain.

Weather in Vietnamese resorts in December

At the most popular beach resorts (in Nha Trang and Phan Thiet Mui Ne), the December weather becomes a little better than in November, but the sea is still unpredictable, and precipitation is likely, and the water temperature is not conducive to swimming.

At this time of the year, the best place for a beach holiday and swimming is still Phu Quoc Island, and probably the beaches of Vung Tau (but here the weather can be with surprises).

  • Ho Chi Minh City - air temperature +28 +29 degrees, there may be rain;
  • Vung Tau - air temperature +28 +29 degrees, there is a chance of rain, muddy sea;
  • Phan Thiet Mui Ne - air temperature +29 +31 degrees, partly cloudy there is a chance of rain, strong gusty wind, muddy, turbulent sea;

  • Danang - air temperature +20 +22 degrees, cloudy, wind, rain, muddy and turbulent sea;
  • Hanoi - air temperature +16 +18 degrees, partly cloudy, there is a small chance of rain.

Weather at the resorts in January

In January, the season comes to most beach resorts, with the exception of the northern regions and Halong Bay, there is bad weather at this time.

In the second half of January, the weather improves in almost all popular resorts in Vietnam. In Nha Trang in the second half of January, the sea becomes calmer and more predictable, you can safely enter the water and swim (but a lot depends directly on the year).

Mui Ne Phan Thiet also acquires the image of a real paradise for a beach holiday (with a few reservations), waves and wind are always present in Mui Ne. Phu Quoc Island retains the best conditions for a relaxed beach holiday, and diving in calm and super clear water. The January beaches of Vung Tau are just as gorgeous as they are in December.

  • Ho Chi Minh City - air temperature +28 +29 degrees, rare rains;
  • Vung Tau - air temperature +28 +29 degrees, rare rains, muddy sea;
  • Phan Thiet Mui Ne - air temperature +28 +30 degrees, there is a chance of rain, wind, muddy sea;
  • Phu Quoc - air temperature +28 +30 degrees, clear, transparent sea;
  • Nha Trang - air temperature +26 +28 degrees, cloudy, there may be rare rains, muddy sea;
  • Hue - air temperature +20 +24 degrees, cloudy, wind, rain;
  • Hoi An - air temperature +20 +24 degrees, cloudy, wind, rain, muddy and turbulent sea;
  • Danang - air temperature +20 +24 degrees, cloudy, wind, rain, muddy and turbulent sea;
  • Hanoi - air temperature +10 +16 degrees, partly cloudy, there is a slight chance of rain.

How to choose the best Vietnamese resort

Holidays in Vietnam can be both memorable and excellent, and disgustingly unpleasant, it all depends on the right choice of the resort that will be the best for you. For a European, not all cities will be suitable for a comfortable stay, so the choice of a place should be taken very responsibly, because not every Russian will experience wild delight while relaxing on the beach, when there is a whole swarm of noisy Chinese in the neighborhood.

Main selection criteria:

  • climate;
  • transport accessibility;
  • the quality of the hotels;
  • availability of tourist attractions;
  • general atmosphere;
  • possibility of rest with children.

As you can see, the list turned out to be not small, but each item in it is logical and important, and now about everything in order.

What is the climate in Vietnamese resorts

The weather table for months will help you (a little higher on this page), but it is worth remembering that the weather in Vietnam can present real surprises, you should prepare for this in advance. In any case, you should not refuse to travel just because of the unfavorable weather forecast, because there is always an alternative. For example, if it’s rainy during your December vacation in Nha Trang (), then head to mountain Dalat, or to Phu Quoc Island, where the sun is shining at that time and the weather is great for a comfortable stay.

Transport accessibility

The presence of an airport near Vietnamese resorts is a real disaster, not every tourist city has a convenient international airport, some popular seaside resorts (Mui Ne) can only be reached by bus. For example, to get to Phan Thiet Mui Ne, you should spend five hours on a bus that slowly follows the route Ho Chi Minh City - Mui Ne. What will it be like for tourists who have made a nine-hour flight, and then another five hours on the bus. Not everyone likes this transport adventure.

Only local airlines fly to other tourist places, which is also not convenient, you will need a transfer anyway. The situation is also strange with the most popular beach city in Vietnam - Nha Trang, only local airlines and charter flights fly to Cam Ranh International Airport, which is also inconvenient for independent travel.

Hotel quality

There are no problems with choosing hotels in Vietnam, but the presence of a rich selection of hotels is also confusing. In the most popular tourist cities (Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Phu Quoc), the choice of accommodation is huge from a cheap guesthouse with all the benefits of civilization (shower, WiFi, TV, refrigerator, etc., you can see how the guesthouse looks like for $ 7) to luxury hotels with private beach and VIP service.

For complete unity with nature, bungalows on the seashore (right at the water's edge) in Mui Ne or on the island of Phu Quoc are more suitable, other Vietnamese resorts accommodate tourists in standard hotels. Most Europeans choose Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Phu Quoc - these settlements are most suitable for a comfortable beach holiday.

Availability of tourist attractions

Nha Trang is the most advanced Vietnamese city, from the point of view of entertainment, few resorts in Vietnam can compete with Nha Trang, here is the longest cable car in the world and the largest entertainment island in Vietnam "Vinpearl" and other attractions of this Vietnamese town.

In Phan Thiet, quieter entertainments await you, most of which are of natural origin (white and red dunes, canyon, lighthouse, etc.). For active water sports (kite and wind surfing), Mui Ne is the best place in all of Vietnam.

On the tropical island of Phu Quoc, there is a little less entertainment, however, they are. More recently (in 2015), Fukuoka opened its own amusement park Winperl, and the island itself is very beautiful, here you can book a tour of the jungle or go diving.

General atmosphere

When choosing a Vietnamese resort for your future vacation, you should carefully study which of the tourists likes to relax in this city. Recently, the rapidly growing Chinese economy (which is the second largest economy in the world) allows the Chinese to relax in the most expensive corners of the world, Vietnamese beach towns are no exception.

There is nothing wrong with Chinese and Vietnamese tourists, it's just that Asian and European cultures are very different. For example, on the wonderful beaches of the resorts of Vung Tau and Da Nang there can be so many Asian vacationers that getting into the water is a real problem, not every European tourist likes this “immersion in Asia”.

Is it possible to rest with children

If you choose the right vacation time (season), then almost any beach town is great for families with children.

Of the most popular resorts in the country where children will feel comfortable, I want to note the suburban beaches of Nha Trang (Paragon Beach and Doclet Beach) and hotels on Winpearl Island, as well as Phu Quoc Island. Most hotels in Phu Quoc are located on the first line, which is much more convenient for families with children than in Nha Trang.

In second place is Mui Ne, this resort has good hotels for family tourists, many of which have a specially allocated place on the beach, without waves and any “flying people” (kite surfers).

Have a nice holiday in Vietnam.

Resorts in Vietnam are distinguished by climate, infrastructure and atmosphere. To avoid disappointment, it is very important to correctly represent the resort where the vacation is planned.

What matters is what month you are traveling in (for example, when it is +35 in the south of Vietnam, it can be only +10 in the north), what type of vacation you like, the quality of the beaches, etc.

The best resorts in Vietnam

Nha Trang

For those who are not against city beaches, like excursions and entertainment, Nha Trang is suitable, the largest and most developed resort in Vietnam. There are many high-quality inexpensive hotels, though they are not located on the coast.

City beach in Nha Trang

As such, there is practically no first line in Nha Trang. Only the five-star Ana Mandara stands on the shore here. All other hotels are located behind the road from the beach.

In Nha Trang, about 90% of tourists relax on the city beach. It is long (7 km), beautiful, quite clean for a beach in the city and separated from the road and residential areas by a wide green area.

Promenade that runs along the city beach in Nha Trang

But often tourists who go to this resort do not suspect that there are many other beaches around Nha Trang - the most famous are Doc Let, Bai Zai, Wild Beach, beaches on the islands in the bay around Nha Trang.

All these beaches are small and both externally and in spirit differ from the city. They are white sandy and bordered not by the concrete jungle, as in Nha Trang, but by real, tropical ones.

Bai Dai Beach

The season in Nha Trang runs from March to October.

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne

For those who want to live in a bungalow or a hotel on the beach, love large resort areas, with many cafes, souvenir shops, excursions are suitable for Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. Almost all hotels are located here on the classic first line.

Beach in Phan Thiet

The length of the resort area of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is quite large: 17 km. And this is only the main part - the one that is located between the city of Phan Thiet and the fishing village of Mui Ne. In fact, the beaches with the hotels standing on them stretched along the coast for 30 kilometers.

Mui Ne central beach

The beach is not the same everywhere in quality, there are wide and clean areas, and there is an almost wild, dirty beach and even places where there is a concrete parapet instead of sand. There are 3-5 star hotels on good stretches of the beach. Budget hotels and guesthouses are usually located on bad stretches of the beach.

Wild stretch of beach in Mui Ne

Of the objective disadvantages: in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne during the high tourist season (in winter) there are usually waves. In the off-season, the waves are less, but it can be cloudy, sometimes it rains. However, in such cases, swimming pools always help out. Because of the waves, the water near the coast in Phan Thiet is usually cloudy.

Those who live on the unfortunate parts of the beach usually try to swim at Mui Ne's central beach. But the specificity of this place is that there is no public beach as such, similar to the city beach of Nha Trang. Sun loungers and umbrellas can only be used by guests of the hotels standing here.

In addition, most of the passages to the beach in Mui Ne are blocked: at the entrance to most of them there is a sign "passing through the hotel is prohibited."

As a result, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne are good for those who relax in good hotels, as well as kite and windsurfers who are more interested in wind and waves. To a much lesser extent, it is convenient and comfortable for people traveling on a budget.

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is the only resort in Vietnam where you can really relax all year round.

Phu Quoc Island

If you are planning a vacation in the style of "vacation in the tropics", then Phu Quoc is more suitable than other resorts. Phu Quoc is the southernmost resort in Vietnam, this island is located off the coast of Cambodia.

The beaches of Phu Quoc island

Rest here is relaxed and lazy, the island itself is very green. No hint of cities. Bungalow or hotel on the beach - the standard of Fukuoka.

Phu Quoc is an island. And in the beach business, this determines a lot. Near the coast here is a little smaller, the sea is calmer. Geographically, it is located almost off the coast of Cambodia. This is the southernmost resort of Vietnam - a real tropical island, 90% of which is covered with greenery.

Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam

There is also a selection of beaches here. It is here that one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam - Bai Sao is located. True, it mainly acts as a tourist attraction: people come here for a day to swim and sunbathe.

Bai Sao Beach

The vast majority of tourists in Fukuoka stop at another beach - Long Beach. It is long, well-groomed, quite cozy and very developed in terms of tourist infrastructure.

Long Beach, Phu Quoc Island

The season in Fukuoka runs from November to April.

Hoi an beaches

For those who do not like the routes beaten, including by travel agencies, who strive for a quiet, high-quality, inexpensive vacation, Hoi Na beaches in central Vietnam are ideal.

Beaches near Hoi An

The beaches here are white-sand, clean, there are usually few people, in the season the sea is azure, there are almost no waves. There are two beaches to choose from: Cua Dai with 4-5 star resorts and nearby An Bang beach of similar quality, where you can find very high quality, small and inexpensive hotels.

There is something to see: 5 km. the ancient city of Hoi An, listed as a World Heritage Site. 30 km. Danang (which, by the way, has an international airport). Also nearby is the former imperial capital of Hue, where you can also go on a tour.

But there are other entertainments: in the sea near Hoi An there is a small archipelago of islands, Ku Lao Cham, where there is a national marine park.

There are good opportunities for diving and snorkeling, day trips here are quite inexpensive.

The season in Hoi An is from April to October.

Da Nang beaches

Da Nang has city beaches, which are actively used by locals during the season, but not particularly cozy in the eyes of a European.

The essence of Da Nang is different: in the vicinity of this city, recreation areas are being formed with a really expensive and incredibly high-quality vacation, with hotel prices of several hundred dollars per night. It is here that you can find restaurants with chefs who have Michelin stars, beautiful villas with private pools, etc.

Russians also rest here, but there are relatively few of them. The resort is also designed for very wealthy Chinese tourists.

How to choose a resort in Vietnam

Next, we will analyze the popular resorts of Vietnam from different points of view, key for recreation. But, first of all, still pay attention to the season - the most favorable time of the year for a trip - and the climate, because otherwise each of the listed resorts has its own advantages,

Choose a resort:

— Climate

Tourist seasons and weather in the resorts of Vietnam

When choosing a resort, it is very important to take into account seasonality: for example, in summer, in July-August, in Nha Trang, it is the high season, the sky is clear, the sea is calm, the air temperature is +33-35, the sea warms up to +30, and in Fukuoka at this time there are heavy rains, blurry roads, strong waves and gloomy skies.

An interesting feature of the seasons in Nha Trang and Fukuoka is that despite the small distance between them - only 230 km - high tourist season in Nha Trang in summer(April to October) and in Phan Thiet rather in winter(from November to April), but at the same time, Phan Thiet is really the resort where you can relax all year round.

- Availability

Distance from the airport, availability of direct flights

For many, this moment is, if not the key, then very important. There are international airports near Nha Trang (30 km from the city) and in Fukuoka. After the plane, in about half an hour, in both cases, you can already be at the resort.

Quite a different situation with Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. The resort is located 200 km from Ho Chi Minh City and, despite the short distance, this road usually takes at least 5-6 hours (about 4 at night). Immediately after a long flight, this, of course, is tiring.

Direct flights to Nha Trang are only charter flights, for example, from Anex Tour and Pegas Touristik. All regular flights to both Nha Trang and Phu Quoc are operated with connections in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi.

For example, you can fly from Russia to Hanoi on a direct Aeroflot flight, and get to Nha Trang or Phu Quoc by local airlines - this is a convenient and economical option.

— Quality of hotels

Quality of hotels, choice, features

On average, the quality of Vietnamese hotels is at a very high level. Even in budget guesthouses, air conditioners, refrigerators and Wi-Fi are not uncommon in the rooms.

The best resorts in Vietnam - in Nha Trang, Phan Thiet / Mui Ne and Phu Quoc - have hotels of any level. In terms of the number of options for luxurious conditions, Nha Trang is perhaps the leader. Fortunately, we do not need all the hotels on the coast for a vacation, just one is enough - the best.

If you have a dream of living in a bungalow on the beach, then the easiest way to realize it is either in Phu Quoc or in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. In Nha Trang, only the five-star Ana Mandara Hotel stands on the shore. Budget options "right by the sea" can be found on other beaches around Nha Trang - Paragon, Doclet, Bai Zai, Wild Beach.

Phu Quoc Island has a certain specificity: it is extremely popular among Western tourists. And if you are planning a trip during the high season, then Good hotels are best booked in advance. They usually fill up quickly.

- Entertainment

Availability of entertainment

According to this indicator, Nha Trang has no equal among other resorts in Vietnam. Here is a huge amusement park "Winperl". Trips to waterfalls, a crocodile farm, spas and mud, excursions to nearby islands, the Museum of Experiences, salt fields and so on - all this in Nha Trang.

Cable car and boats of the entertainment complex "Vinperl"

Crocodile farm near Nha Trang

In second place in terms of the number of attractions and entertainment is Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. If you wish, there is also something to see here. The visiting card of these places is the famous sand dunes.

Dunes of Mui Ne

In addition, you can go to Mount Taka and a couple of other interesting places.

Pagoda on Mount Taku

In Fukuoka, you can also find entertainment, but in general, the main ones on the island are the beach and the sea. For those for whom this is not enough, in 2015 the Vinpearl amusement park opened its doors.

In addition, in Phu Quoc, you can go on an excursion to the national park and look at the rainforests, visit the former prison, which functioned during colonial times and the Vietnam War, and look into several local pagodas. And, of course, diving, kayaking and snorkeling.

Rainforest, Phu Quoc Island National Park

- Vacation with children

Vietnam with a child

The opportunity to relax with children is at any of the resorts in Vietnam. But Phu Quoc and the beaches in Hoi An are most suitable for this.

There are almost no waves in Fukuoka during the season. Most hotels are located by the sea, that is, you don’t need to go anywhere, like, say, in Nha Trang to the city beach: you take two steps from the beach and you’re already in your room.

In addition, it is in Fukuoka that there are hotels that are emphatically friendly to children, for example, Famiana. The area of the sea in front of the hotel’s beach is fenced here, there is a small trampoline and a slide on the water, there is a playground, employees are on duty by the pool area, whose only task is to monitor the children swimming in the pool so that parents can relax, and so on.

For a family holiday near Nha Trang, Paragon Beach is good, which never has waves - because of the breakwaters, it is something like a large natural pool. Not far from Nha Trang, there is a beautiful white sandy Doklet beach with family-friendly hotels.

The resort of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne also has areas that are suitable for families with children.: this is a section of the beach next to the City Links hotel, closer to Phan Thiet - there are breakwaters, no kitesurfers, and slightly smaller waves. There are excellent aparthotels here, where it is very comfortable with children - there are separate bedrooms and kitchens, and the beach is suitable for swimming.

It will also be comfortable with children on the beaches near the city of Hoi An. It is quiet here, there are few people, the beaches are white sand, the sea is azure and clean during the season, and the sand is soft. There are almost no tourists on An Bang beach (there are no package tours to these places), while there are many high-quality, inexpensive hotels on the shore, which are run by Vietnamese families.

- Atmosphere

The difference between resorts in terms of atmosphere

The first thing to note is: far from all Vietnamese resorts are comfortable for Europeans. The idea of how to relax, and how the beaches should be equipped, is very different among the Vietnamese, the Chinese (who massively relax in Vietnam) and the Europeans.

When going on vacation to Vietnam, the average tourist usually chooses from three resorts: Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne (single resort area) and Phu Quoc island. In principle, this is correct. These are the most adapted resorts for Europeans.

Resort overview:

Resorts of northern, central and southern Vietnam: a brief description

The most popular resorts in Vietnam among Russians are Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne and Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc is extremely popular among Europeans, but it is less known to Russians than Nha Trang and Phan Thiet. Recently, there has been growing interest in the beaches of Hoi An and Da Nang, as well as Vung Tau.

Don't like beaten tourist routes and focus on a quiet, high-quality, inexpensive vacation in Vietnam? Pay attention to the white sandy beaches near Hoi An (especially Ai Bang Beach) where you can find small and very high quality family hotels!

Real scale and luxury can be found on many Vietnamese beaches, one of these areas is actively developing south of Da Nang. Unlike Nha Trang, hotels in Da Nang are not behind the road, but right on the seashore.

In Vietnam, there are other less well-known beaches among Russians (Vung Tau, Da Son, Shomshon), which are much worse suited for European tourists than Nha Trang, Phan Thiet / Mui Ne and Phu Quoc. We will also consider them - for the sake of completeness.

— North Vietnam

North Vietnam resorts

Cat Ba Island (Hanoi, Halong Bay)

Cat Ba Island is located in Halong Bay, 170 km from Hanoi.

Halong Bay, Vietnam

You can relax on this island from April to October. In winter, the temperature in the northern resorts of Vietnam drops to +10, it is cold and uncomfortable there.

People rarely come to Cat Ba Island for the whole vacation, more often for a few days - for the sake of a tour of Halong Bay (although it is easy to organize such a trip from Hanoi). There are three organized beaches on the island, they are called simply: Cat Co 1, Cat Co 2 and Cat Co 3.

One of the most suitable holiday hotels here is Cat Ba Island Resort & Spais on the beachCat Co 1. In general, there are very few hotels on Cat Ba that stand near the beach, more often 10-15 minutes walk from the sea.

Townchau Island

Another island in Halong bay. It is notable for the fact that it is connected to the mainland by a two-kilometer bridge. Taunchau Island is very small - 2.3 sq. km.

From here, too, often go on excursions to Halong Bay. The beach here is conditional.

Doshon (Ðố Sơn)

Located 120 km. from Hanoi. The closest major city to the beaches of Do Son is Haiphong.

As the Do Son beach area is not developed, good hotels in the area can only be found in the city of Haiphong. The water near the coast is not very clean and muddy due to the river flowing into the sea nearby.

Do Son is popular with the Hanoi people and extremely popular with the Chinese. But they don't come here to swim. Here is a casino that works for foreigners. Doson is also the local mecca of sex tourism.

Shamshon (Sầm Sơn)

Shamshon is an old Vietnamese resort, known since 1906. During the French colonization, villas were built here.

The beach is wide and beautiful, almost 6 km long, but this is a purely Vietnamese resort with a very peculiar atmosphere. On weekends and holidays it is overcrowded with people and may look like this:

And it does not closely resemble relaxation in the European sense.

By the centenary of the foundation of the resort, the city and the resort area were modernized, the authorities invested $375,000 in development. Despite this, European tourists generally have nothing to do here.

If you are still going to Shamshon, you can stay at Dragon Sea Hotel.

Danang

Da Nang is a large industrial city, the third largest in Vietnam. It has developed rapidly in recent years. New bridges, skyscraper hotels, a wide equipped embankment are the results, including the last decade.

Da Nang is especially spectacular at night

Danang is a major transport hub, there is an international airport, railway station, seaport, bus station. For many travelers, this is just a transit city on the way to Hoi An and Hue, or as a launching pad for visiting nearby attractions (Marble Mountains, Batma National Park and others).

At the same time, Da Nang also has beaches. Holiday prices here are generally lower than in Nha Trang, but the chilly Asian atmosphere without any European adaptation is far from suitable for everyone, so this resort is not popular with European tourists. In the off-season, the beaches are empty, and in the season they are filled with Vietnamese and Chinese tourists.

Vietnamese and Chinese on the city beach of Da Nang

There are 3 city beaches in Da Nang: Bac My An, China beach, My Khe beach and Non Nuoc, which is located next to the Chinese beach.

Chinese beach in Da Nang

The quietest beach area is Non Nuoc, which has only a few 4-5 star hotels. Cozier than on city beaches, it can be on the Nui Son Tra peninsula, which is called "Monkey Mountain".

Villas at the InterContinental Danang Resort, Vietnam.

The InterContinental Hotel on Monkey Mountain has its own 700-meter beach, and the atmosphere there, of course, is different from that on the city beach.

– Central Vietnam

Resorts of Central Vietnam

Hoi An (Cua Dai Beach, An Bang)

Hoi An is known not as a beach resort, but as an open-air museum city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The old Chinese houses of Hoi An, which now house galleries, cafes and hotels.

Hoi An is beautiful both day and night.

The city is amazingly cozy and interesting - there are 844 historical monuments here, including ancient Chinese houses, Cham and Chinese temples, etc. There are a huge number of traditional shops, souvenir shops and sewing workshops.

Multi-colored lanterns - a visiting card of Hoi An

However, a beach holiday in Hoi An is also possible: the place is very quiet, calm, and beautiful, plus there is something to see: you can go to Hoi An and Da Nang, see the islands of the Cu Lao Cham archipelago - a marine national park. It is well suited for those who like quiet, small beaches.

The nearest airport is 30 km away, in Da Nang. The best time to visit here is from April to October.

Chinese temple in Hoi an

The beaches of Hoi An are located 5 km from the historical center. There are two of them: Cua Dai beach - there are a little more than a dozen rather expensive resorts - and An Bang beach, where you can find rooms in guesthouses and inexpensive hotels. Let's talk about them a little more.

Cua Dai Beach

Cua Dai is a clean, white sandy beach, quite long - 3 km long, part of the coast is in the shade of trees - kasaurins and palm trees.

Cua Dai beach near Hoi An.

There are only a few resorts and guesthouses on the shore. The entrance to the sea is very gentle, the sand is fine, there are no stones, you can swim with children. There are usually very few people during the day. In the morning and evening, quite a lot of locals come to the beach.

Near Cua Dai Beach, the Thu Bon River flows into the sea, which is why the water near the coast is usually a little cloudy. Not all hotels on the coast have their own beach - in some places it is a concrete fortification. The beach on the right side of the coast was badly damaged during the typhoon and is now reinforced with sandbags.

One of the best hotels on this beach is River Beach Resort & Residences, which has an optimal price / quality ratio. You can also pay attention to Muong Thanh Hoi An Hotel, however, it is usually filled with noisy Chinese and Vietnamese tourists.

There are also several small family hotels on this beach, but they are mainly concentrated on the neighboring beach of An Bang (An Bang). Yes, most of them do not have pools, but if you go in season, then this is not a problem, because the sea and the beach are excellent.

An Bang Beach

Please note that in Thailand on the island of Koh Samui there is a beach with a similar name - when planning a vacation, it is important not to confuse their description!

An Bang Beach near Hoi An

An Bang Beach is a very nice white sandy beach, which is located to the left of Cui Dai Beach, closer to Da Nang. For a quiet, relaxing holiday in Vietnam, this is probably one of the best places.

The beach is not yet overdeveloped, prices in cafes are low, there are few people, you can find an inexpensive hotel or guesthouse on the shore.

The following hotels are recommended: Tan Thanh Garden Homestay - perhaps the best in terms of price / quality ratio, Lam Hung Seaside Homestay is a very cozy family hotel, Binh Yen Homestay (Peace Homestay) is good and at the same time one of the most inexpensive (though located 700 meters from the sea).

Cu Lao Cham Islands

About two hours by ferry from Hoi An there is a stunning place - the islands of the Cu Lao Cham archipelago. The largest and only inhabited island of this archipelago is Khon Lao. Both the island and the sea are very beautiful here, the beaches are with white sand.

Cu Lao Cham archipelago, Vietnam.

The territory of Ku Lao Cham belongs to the marine national park, there are many colored fish and stunning corals. Video taken underwater near the Cham Islands.

The island has a dive center, you can rent a mask for snorkeling.

The only problem of Ku Lao Cham is the underdevelopment of the tourist infrastructure. The island has guesthouses with basic conditions and a room price of around $ 10 and small local cafes, but the beaches are essentially wild, but well-groomed:

The beach at Ku Lao Cham.

From the ports of Hoi An to Cu Lao Cham there are public ferries (journey time two hours, departure from Hoi An at 8 am, ticket price 50,000 dong, 30,000 for a motorbike, they usually try to sell a ticket to foreigners for a double price) and speed boats (a trip to a day including lunch costs $25 per person). Excursions to Hong Lao are organized in almost any hotel and travel agency in Hoi An.

The state ferry for Hon Lao departs from the port in the center of Hoi An, stopping at a small port in the village of Cua Dai.

– South Vietnam

Resorts of South Vietnam

Nha Trang

At the moment, the most visited resort in Vietnam by Europeans, including tourists from Russia.

Doclet (Zoklet)

The beach is located about 45-50 km from Nha Trang. The beach is beautiful, white sand, surrounded by jungle. The place is very picturesque, near the coast it is quite shallow, you can swim safely.

There are several resorts on the beach where you can spend your vacation, or come here for a day from Nha Trang by regular bus, taxi or rented motorbike.

Information about Doklet beach is in our

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne

The second most popular beach resort in Vietnam among European tourists. Detailed information about planning a holiday on the beaches of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne is in our

Vung Tau

Much is written about Vung Tau, but this city, perhaps, cannot be called a beach resort. This is a beautiful city with wide roads, but at the same time a large industrial center with a huge number of industrial enterprises and the oil capital of the country: oil is extracted in the sea on the shelf.

Near Vung Tayu, a river flows into the sea, upstream of which stands the multimillion-dollar metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. And in the city there are a huge number of rats that do not hide even during the day and run along the embankments and along the beaches.

Formally, there are three beaches in Vung Tau, but only one looks like a beach in the classical sense - albeit with fabric sunbeds, old umbrellas and dense grayish sand, this Backbeach (Bãi Sau / Thui Van). Beach Bai Zau (Bai Dau / Rocher Noir / Black Stone) very small (one and a half hundred meters, stones, garbage), beach Bai Dua or "Pineapple Beach"- a narrow strip of sand and stones that runs along the road.

Vung Tau is a typical resort for locals, designed primarily for residents of Ho Chi Minh City, where they come on weekends and holidays. These days the resort is packed to capacity, prices double. On other days it is empty.

City beach in Vung Tau, a typical weekend picture. On weekdays - the same old umbrellas and armchairs, but empty.

There are white-sand beaches near Vung Tau, but they are not in the city itself, but a 15-20-minute drive from it, in Long Hai. On weekends and in the evening it also overflows with Vietnamese. Long Hai has several resorts with private beaches. For example, there is a small private beach, and. Alma is very beautiful, but the beach is public opposite. There is a private beach with sun loungers and umbrellas, but they carry it from the hotel.

Phu Quoc Island

Perhaps Phu Quoc is our favorite resort in Vietnam. There is nothing reminiscent of cities here, in the season the sea is azure, shallow near the coast, you can swim perfectly.

Con Dao Island

Also, like Phu Quoc Island, it is located in the very south of the country. In terms of infrastructure, Fukuoka is still much less developed, in terms of atmosphere it is even quieter, with even fewer attractions and noisy entertainment, and, of course, there are fewer tourists here.

The big problem of the island is the extremely limited supply of hotels. We can recommend the three-star Con Dao Resort and ATC Resort, as well as a little more inexpensiveThien Tan Hotel. Fans of budget holidays will find guesthouses with basic conditions on Con Dao.

There are luxury options on the island, for example Six Senses Con Dao with a price of $700 per night for a two-hundred-meter two-story villa with a pool, ocean views, a private beach and other elements of an unforgettable vacation.
