Rules of conduct on the beach in summer. Rules of conduct on the beaches of Cyprus. How to protect your skin from UV rays

What associations do you have with the word "summer"? You can be absolutely sure that the top positions in the answers to such a question will be occupied by the words “sea” and “beach”. And this is not unusual, because summer is the time for relaxation and vacations, when each of us is looking forward to the moment when it will be possible to change a strict office suit for a swimsuit and beach slippers, and an eternal morning cup of coffee for an ice shake or cocktail. Surprisingly, few people think that summer holidays can bring not only a lot of positive emotions, but also some problems. For example, without knowing the simple rules of behavior on the beach, you can easily ruin your vacation, harm your health and just lose a few hours of precious time.
So, what should not be forgotten when going to the coast.

  1. behavior in water. You should not rely on your ability to swim and arrange competitions, who will sail further from the coast. Cold currents near seashores often cause cramps, which can lead to loss of control over the body and the inability to swim to shore. If you decide to ride a boat or scooter, don't forget to wear a life jacket. In addition, you should not swim behind the buoys, no matter how trite it may sound, because behind the buoys there is a zone where boats and ships are actively swimming. It is also not recommended to hold your breath for a long time while swimming, as this can cause dizziness and loss of consciousness. If you want to snorkel, use special equipment.
  2. Explore the bottom of the reservoir. If you are going to jump from a rope or dive from a pier, be sure to carefully examine the bottom for rocks, debris, and sharp objects. Take the utmost care. When swimming in the waves, pay attention to the warning signs and the presence of lifeguards on the shore. Once in the sea current, do not resist it, but swim along the coastline until it loses its strength. Then swim towards the shore diagonally. Attempts to overcome the current can threaten that you will quickly run out of strength, and you will not approach the shore even a meter.
  3. Sun protection. Be sure to use sunscreen and try not to be in the sun when it is most dangerous (somewhere between 11 am and 3 pm). Ultraviolet radiation is dangerous because it can provoke the development of dangerous skin diseases, so do not neglect the precautions. When choosing a cream, pay attention to the SP filter level, which should be at least 30, you should choose a cream with a high level of protection if you are going to relax in exotic countries near the equator. Owners of fair skin should purchase a cream with a protection level of at least 50.
  4. Choose water over sodas. The fact is that a person needs to drink at least two liters of water a day, but in hot weather, the amount of fluid needed increases to three to four liters. However, it is worth remembering that nothing quenches thirst like ordinary water or cold green tea. Sugary carbonated drinks increase thirst, and sugar, which is contained in large quantities in these drinks, causes the release of the hormone insulin into the bloodstream and, in addition, can lead to obesity.
  5. Keep a close eye on children. The sea, river, reservoir, pool - all these are places of increased danger. Do not leave your child in the water unattended, even if he can swim, and lifeguards are nearby. Do not let children into the pool alone, make sure that they have an adult with them who knows how to swim and can provide first aid. During long walks, make sure that the child does not overheat in the sun and does not overwork. Always carry a bottle of water with you.
  6. Sand. You should not get carried away playing with sand on exotic tropical beaches, as it may contain bacteria and microorganisms that are unusual for the body. You should also not lie on the sand for a long time, since it has the property of quickly heating up and cooling down easily. If you step on the sand in the shade and in the sun, you can easily feel a significant difference in temperatures. That is why, when you lie on the bare sand, you quickly stop noticing that it has cooled down and you can easily catch a cold.
  7. Don't drink alcohol. Never drink alcohol on the beach. Most accidents on the water are due to swimming under the influence of alcoholic beverages. The thing is that alcohol contributes to impaired coordination of movements and makes it difficult to respond adequately and quickly if a wave suddenly covers or cramps your leg. In addition, bathing is a serious burden on the body, and under the influence of alcoholic beverages, it increases significantly.

Remember that simple safety precautions can prevent accidents and save you vacation.

The creation of conditions for mass recreation of residents and the organization of arrangement of places for mass recreation of the population refers to the issue of local significance of settlements, urban districts and is established by various regulatory legal acts, including the Town Planning Code of the Russian Federation (Article 8), the Land Code of the Russian Federation (Articles 7,8,11 ), Federal Law “On the General Principles of Organization of Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation” dated October 6, 2003 No. 131-FZ (Articles 14,16). beach recreation safety hygienic

The requirements for ensuring the safety of people on beaches and other places of mass recreation at water bodies are determined by the Rules for the Protection of People's Life at Water Bodies, and the criteria for the safety and harmlessness of water bodies are established by the current sanitary legislation. The Federal Law "On the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population" dated March 30, 1999 No. 52-FZ (Article 18) determines that water bodies used for swimming, sports, recreation, including water bodies located within urban and rural areas settlements should not be sources of biological, chemical and physical factors of harmful effects on humans.

Permission to use a water body for specifically indicated purposes is allowed if there is a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion on the compliance of the water body with sanitary rules and conditions for the safe use of the water body for public health.

Criteria for the safety and harmlessness of water bodies for humans are established by SanPiN 2.1.5.980-00 “Hygienic requirements for the protection of surface waters”.

Hygienic requirements for places of organized mass recreation of the population near water bodies are defined by SanPiN 42-128-4690-88 "Sanitary rules for the maintenance of territories of populated areas" and GOST 17.1.5.02-80 "Nature protection. Hydrosphere. Hygienic requirements for recreation areas of water bodies", namely:

  • * compliance of the water quality of the water body and the sanitary condition of the territory with hygienic requirements;
  • * the presence or possibility of constructing convenient and safe approaches to water;
  • * availability of access roads to the recreation area;
  • * safe bottom relief (no holes, thickets of aquatic plants, sharp stones, etc.);
  • * favorable hydrological regime (absence of whirlpools, currents over 0.5 m/s, sharp fluctuations in water level);
  • * lack of possibility of unfavorable and dangerous processes (landslides, landslides, mudflows, avalanches);
  • * should be removed from wastewater discharge sites, cattle camps and watering places, as well as other sources of pollution and located outside the sanitary protection zones of industrial enterprises and on the windward side in relation to sources of environmental pollution and noise sources.

The equipment of the recreation zone and ensuring the safety of the use of the reservoir and the beach are carried out by organizations and enterprises that are or will be in charge of the recreation zone.

When calculating the required area of the beach area, one should proceed from the norms of at least 8 square meters. m for the beach on watercourses and reservoirs per person.

When calculating the area of the children's sector, one should proceed from the norms of at least 4 square meters. m per person.

The border of the swimming area should be marked with identification marks. The bathing area in the children's sector should have a bottom with a gentle slope, with a predominant depth of 40 - 50 cm, but not more than 70 cm.

The following functional zones should be allocated on the territory of the beach:

40 - 60% - recreation area (aerarium, solarium, shady canopies).

Shading of certain sections of the beach should be provided with shady canopies, umbrellas, awnings, taking into account the use of the latter by up to 40% of vacationers on the beach;

  • 5 - 8% - service area (dressing rooms, rental building, buffets, kiosks, etc.);
  • 10% - sports zone (table tennis, volleyball, badminton, diving towers, boat station, etc.);
  • 20 - 40% - green area;
  • 5 - 7% - children's sector. For children under 8 years of age with play facilities (sandboxes, swings, etc.);
  • 3 - 5% - pedestrian roads.

The recreation area must be provided with drinking water that meets the requirements of hygienic standards. Showers must be supplied with potable water.

On the territories of the beaches it is necessary to arrange public toilets at the rate of one place for 75 visitors. The distance from public toilets to the bathing place should be at least 50 m and not more than 200 m. When installing toilets, sewerage should be provided with sewage disposal to treatment facilities. In the absence of sewerage, a waterproof cesspool is necessary.

Garbage containers with a capacity of 0.75 cubic meters. m should be located on concrete sites with convenient access roads and are installed at the rate of one container per 3500 - 4000 sq. m of beach area. Garbage should be taken out daily.

Litter-bins must be placed at a distance of 3 - 5 m from the strip of green spaces and at least 10 m from the water's edge. The urns must be arranged at the rate of at least one urn per 1600 sq. m of beach area. The distance between the installed urns should not exceed 40 m.

Near the recreation area, the arrangement of open parking lots for personal and public transport should be provided.

The technical staff of the beach, after its closure, should carry out the main cleaning of the coast, changing rooms, toilets, the green zone, washing containers and disinfecting toilets. Patrol cleaning should be done during the day. It is allowed to take out the collected waste until 8 am.

Open and closed locker rooms, dressing pavilions, wardrobes should be washed daily with disinfectant solutions.

Every year, clean sand or pebbles must be poured onto the beach.

In the presence of special mechanisms on sandy beaches, at least once a week, mechanized loosening of the surface layer of sand should be carried out with the removal of collected waste. After loosening, the sand must be leveled.

In places intended for swimming, it is strictly forbidden to wash clothes and bathe animals.

RIGHT OF ACCESS TO MUNICIPAL BEACHES

The entire territory at a distance of less than 30 meters from the seashore belongs to the state. This means that everyone has access to it. Therefore, you can safely go to any beach you like, swim and sunbathe. The only exceptions are those coastal areas that are security zones: for example, the runway at Larnaca airport or the pier at the naval base in Mari.

EUR 2.50 (NOT 25) PER LOUNGE

The Cyprus Consumers Association reminds that the maximum cost of renting a sun lounger on a municipal beach is EUR 2.50. The same goes for the umbrella. These are rates for one day. Vacationers have the right to leave the beach for a while, retaining a place on rented sun loungers. In order to avoid misunderstandings with payment, it is recommended to take a receipt.

This rule does not apply to beaches at hotels. Sometimes it happens that vacationers come to the beach, and almost all the sun loungers are occupied. There are only a couple of free ones, but they are allegedly booked. In some cases, companies that manage the rental of sun loungers and umbrellas require up to 25 euros for a "booking". The Cypriot Consumers Association says this is illegal.

If the beach is located at the hotel, then for its guests the use of sunbeds and umbrellas is free. Companies renting sun loungers and umbrellas should occupy no more than 50% of the beach area. The second half of the beach is intended for those who come to sunbathe and swim, but do not want to rent a sun lounger. The area on which two sun loungers and one sun umbrella are placed must not be less than 16 square meters. meters.

DO NOT SWIM FOR THE BUOYS!

For the safety of bathers in the sea, corridors fenced with buoys have been created for the movement of boats and catamarans. From seven in the morning until nine in the evening, boats and catamarans do not have the right to swim behind the buoys. The rest of the day the sea is considered "open" for their movement.

  • If you have children, it is recommended to choose beaches where lifeguards work. Do not leave bathing children unattended. If children are under five years of age, adults should be near them at all times.
  • Even if you consider yourself an excellent swimmer, do not swim far from the shore alone. Ask a friend, relative or acquaintance to keep you company.
  • Do not swim in the sea after having a heavy meal or drinking alcohol. Spend at least three hours on the beach after eating or drinking before you go swimming.
  • If you are at sea, exercise reasonable care. If you are scuba diving, use red or orange buoys at the dive site.
  • And once again - do not swim beyond the boundaries separating the area for bathers from the area for boats, catamarans, yachts, etc. Avoid the dangerous approach of motorized boats that move parallel to the beaches.
  • If you are caught in a strong current, and you are being carried away from the coast into the open sea, then it is wiser not to fight it, trying to return by the shortest route, but to swim along the coast to the place where the strength of the current weakens and from there get to land.
  • When walking on any boat or small boat, you are required to wear life jackets for yourself and your children. In the event of an emergency, they will help you stay afloat and not drown even in an unconscious state.

DON'T TAKE A LOT OF MONEY TO THE BEACH

The Police of the Republic of Cyprus urges vacationers to be more attentive to personal belongings and money on the beaches. It is not recommended to take large sums, valuables and gadgets with you. If you still decide to bring them to the beach, then do not leave them in sight and unattended. If the behavior of someone on the beach or in a parking area near the beach raises suspicion of the purity of their intentions, call the police on 1460.

PARTIES

To hold a party on the beach, you must obtain permission from the municipal authorities. It is issued only if the organizers of the entertainment event undertake to leave the beach in the same form as it was before it was held. It is forbidden to pitch tents and camping on the beaches.

DOG BEACHES

The Cyprus Tourism Organization (CTO) recalls that walking with dogs on the beaches of the island, and even more so, bathing animals in the sea is prohibited. The exceptions are seven beaches in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, where dogs can swim in the sea:

  • Seratzia- Kato Pyrgos
  • Kasianes(or Spyros) - near Larnaca Airport
  • Beach without a name- near Paphos airport in the village of Ahelia
  • Pitili - Neo Chorio, 9 km from Polis towards the bath of Aphrodite
  • Karavopetra- the village of Monagrulli
  • Prolimnos- west of Pissouri
  • Glyki Nero B- Paralimni

The long-awaited summer has finally arrived. Many threw simple belongings (or luxurious outfits) into travel bags and rushed to the sea.
The bright sun, hot sand and gentle sea (lake, river) welcome everyone with open arms. But by the evening, many people's mood deteriorates sharply, their health worsens because they are overheated, burned, overtired ...
From us, the sea - that's how we call our Kapshagai reservoir - is half an hour's walk away. And we occasionally make trips to the beach.

It is interesting to watch the holidaymakers! And I concluded that many do not know elementary things. Or just forgot.

Do you know how most vacationers start swimming? A car drives up, a group of tortured people, flushed from a long drive, falls out. Those who arrived on the move take off their clothes, run into the water and abruptly plunge into it. Can you imagine the stress experienced by the body and heart! And if a person is "under a degree", then it's just terrible! And after all, they have a phrase prepared for this case: “Outside - 40 °, inside - 40 ° - that's the balance!”
Hence the heat stroke, and the sun, hypothermia from a long stay in the water, convulsions.
How should you behave on the beach?
1. If a person is hot, you can not immediately climb into the water. You need to walk along the shore, go to shallow water, wash your hands, feet, neck with water (especially if the water is cold). And then slowly go deeper.
2. You can not swim to the state of bluish lips and "goose bumps". Everything needs a measure.
And after you got out of the water, it is advisable to wipe yourself with a towel so that drops of water do not provoke a burn.

3. How many sunbathe? They lie down on the sand and lie for an hour or two, until the skin turns red-brown. But it is very harmful for the skin! Moreover, the lighter the skin, the more active the ultraviolet rays affect it. And their excess can provoke even skin cancer.

How to protect your skin from UV rays

It is necessary to lubricate the skin with sunscreen 20 minutes before going to the beach. During this time, the skin will absorb the sunscreen.
The cream must be waterproof.
You can sunbathe in the morning from 9 am to 11 am or after 5 pm, when the activity of the sun subsides.
You need to sunbathe on the move, playing volleyball or just walking along the beach, exposing all parts of the body to the sun evenly.

You need to periodically go into the shade or hide under a canopy. After all, even in the shade, a person can successfully tan, and without harm to health.
To avoid getting sunstroke, be sure to wear a hat.

You also need to drink more liquid, preferably cool water acidified with lemon juice. After all, when a person is hot, a large amount of liquid is released from the body along with sweat, and with it useful trace elements: sodium, potassium, magnesium. This is bad for the circulatory system and heart function.
Many people walk barefoot on the beach without thinking about the danger they are putting themselves in.
The culture of behavior of some citizens leaves much to be desired. Glasses and broken bottles are the result of their vigorous activity.

You can also pick up a fungal infection. After all, the fungus reproduces well in a warm, humid environment, and short-term contact with the fungus is enough to become infected. Therefore, I always walk along the beach in shales.
If the reservoir is located in an Asian country, then you can step on a scorpion, which is attached under a leaf or a pebble. And if the passage to the water goes through thickets of grass, then you can run into a viper.
What am I all about the sad.

The benefits of swimming

During swimming, all muscle groups are involved, which is very useful for the spine and joints.

When swimming, the cervical vertebrae work. After all, when we walk, we most often look under our feet - the head is lowered. And when swimming, we are forced to raise our heads so as not to sip water. This is a good exercise for osteochondrosis.

It is believed that daily swimming promotes weight loss. I don’t know how true this is, but it is, of course, useful for improving posture and strengthening muscles.

What to eat on the beach

Many on the beach arrange real feasts! What is not on the impromptu table! And chicken, and sausage, and potatoes. Even mayonnaise!
But after all, firstly, it all quickly deteriorates in the sun. And secondly, it is generally undesirable to eat fatty and high-calorie foods in the heat. Optimal food: sour fruits, apples, tomatoes, cucumbers. They have a lot of juice, which will help replenish the loss of fluid.
When you return home, be sure to take a shower and wash yourself with warm water.
If you are still burned, the body should be lubricated with a moisturizer. You can use regular low-fat sour cream or sour milk. But with alcohol and cologne, as some practice, it is impossible to lubricate the skin. As well as lubricate the burnt places with a greasy cream. This can make you feel worse. Yes, and washing with soap in this case is also not recommended.
I hope that these simple recommendations will help make your stay on the beach comfortable and your vacation unforgettable.
