30th route through the mountains to the sea. Hike to the Caucasus "30th All-Union Route (Through the mountains to the sea). day: Lunar glade - Circassian pass - Merry descent - Babuk-Aul - Shakhe river

Lago-Naki, All-Union route No. 30 "Through the mountains to the sea". Day 1

The idea to go through the famous all-Union hiking route No. 30, "thirty", as it is called, appeared in the winter, by chance, while browsing some travel blogs.
It should be noted that we are cyclists, we almost never go with a backpack on our backs, except for weekend hikes of 50 km and light...
But the photographs of the alpine meadows were so enticing that it was decided that we had to go.
Go on your own, of course. Fitting into commercial groups with unfamiliar tourists and paying instructors - such an idea was not even considered.
All information on the route "from scratch" was collected on the Internet, bit by bit.
Here it is, as a guide for beginner tourists going there for the first time, I will post it. Six months ago, such a guide with answers to all the questions of the "teapot" would be very useful to me.

1. Physical training
The first thing to do before hiking is to assess your physical level. Stuff 10-15 kg into a backpack and walk 10 kilometers through the forest. Were you able to? Didn't die? So you can get past 30.
If not, you need to do it. Walking with a heavy backpack, running up the stairs, crouching, walking on a stepper - the exercises for preparing for hiking are simple, but tedious. For me, they went well with watching TV shows.
Otherwise, it will be like in most reports about amateur hikes - "we walked, dreaming of taking off our backpacks and falling." And I want to pass with pleasure, taking photos, with a reserve of strength.
After digging around on the Internet, I took the following list as a basis:

Are you physically ready to climb? if you can (do the exercises not all at once, but at different times):
run at any pace 8 km (or an hour in time);
pull up on the horizontal bar 7 times for men and 1 time for girls; sit down on one leg 3 times;
push up from the floor 20 times; run up the stairs of a 9-storey building back and forth three times;
squat on both legs 50 times.
Are you more or less ready to climb, if you can:
run at any pace 5 km (or 30 minutes in time);
pull up on the horizontal bar 4 times for men and 2 times with support on one leg for girls;
sit down on one leg 1 time; push up from the floor 15 times;
run up the stairs of a 5-storey building back and forth twice;
squat on both legs 40 times.
You need to do physical training If:
run at any pace no more than 3 km;
pull up on the horizontal bar 2 times for men and 1 time with support on one leg for girls;
it is impossible to sit down on one leg 1 time;
does not come out to wring out from the floor more than 10 times;
it is impossible to run up and down the stairs of a 9-storey building more than once;
squat on both legs 30 times or less.

I had six months to tighten up my physical shape a little.
The fact is that the good physical shape of a cyclist (or any other sport) is not yet an indicator of a good shape for a hiker. Muscles are sometimes developed not at all those that are needed for a monotonous climb uphill or downhill.
Six months, in principle, was enough to prepare physically without fanaticism.

2. Route
Since we went without an instructor, we needed a well-developed route, a track for the navigation program. We use the free Maps.me program on a smartphone.
Suitable tracks were found on the site www.gpsies.com, but we have improved it a bit. You can take as a basis our track of the route Thirty along Lago-Naki.
By the way, the planned route was longer, but because of the abundance of snow, it had to be cut.
If you download this track in KML format, upload it to your smartphone and open it in Maps.me, you will have a ready route - you can go. The points of overnight stays are marked as we spent the night.

3. Equipment
We did not plan to climb mountains with glaciers. This requires equipment in the form of crampons, ice axes, ropes and the ability to use it all.
Therefore, our equipment was purely tourist.
Perhaps the list will be useful to someone as a guide:
- a tent (our double tent weighed 2.4 kg) two-layer, without a skirt
- trekking poles
- backpacks of 55 liters (for me and Andrey), 75 liters for Yurka. The volume of the backpack also depends on how the equipment is divided within the group. You yourself carry your tent, or you divide the tent into parts for two or three people.
- sleeping bags for comfort temperature -9, -5, 0 (everyone is different)
- membrane jacket against rain and wind
- compact tourist down jacket (I have on artificial down - primalofte)
- a set of thermal underwear thin (for walking) and warm (for sleeping)
- 3 pairs of socks and underwear, 2 sports tops (not bras, uncomfortable under a backpack)
- 1 pair of soft fleece sleeping socks
- hat, fleece gloves, bandana-pipe-buff - on the neck, on the head from the sun, multifunctional
- T-shirt-thermal underwear for active, for walking during the day
- shorts
- pants made of dense, strong fabric, quick-drying synthetics, reinforced with kondura inserts
- trekking high boots with a membrane
- summer sandals
- EVA boots (for long halts, for parking). Bought for 700 r. in the department of workwear, they weigh little, they do not get wet, they are needed when you need to change wet shoes in the parking lot and walk in the snow
- toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, light manicure set, microfiber towel
- sunscreen with a score of at least 50
- Sunglasses (!)

From food:
- dried meat
- pasta 1 kg
- buckwheat 1 kg
- sugar, tea, coffee 200 g approximately
- dry bread
- 2 sticks of smoked sausage per person
- sweets, nuts, dried fruits 300 g per person

Cooked on burners, for 5 days it took 2 cylinders of gas for three.
Water was taken from streams, waterfalls and springs, they are there in abundance.

The weather in these places in summer ranges from +25 during the day to -5 at night, so you need to dress accordingly.

4. Story about the passage of the route and photo report

For us, the trip began with the purchase of Samara-Krasnodar tickets. There are two buses a day from Krasnodar to the village of Kamennomostsky - we look at the schedule in advance on the Yandex Schedule.
In Kamennomostsky, we checked into a pre-booked guest house. We booked through the Ostrovok website, chose the Lago-Naki guest house, Solnechnaya street, 6, based on prices, photos and reviews. The houses were empty, the beginning of the season... Beauty.
If the link is still valid, then here -tyts.

The first day we made a radial hike through the local natural beauties - we went to the Khadzhokh gorge and to the waterfalls of the Rufabgo River. In order not to pay for getting on the trail, they bypassed the alternative route.
Here is a track on how to visit the Rufabgo waterfalls and the Khadzhokh gorge for free - download KML, open it in maps, go ... We went further, there are a lot of trails, you can see them in the navigator.

Belaya river.

Sail Rock.

Waterfall.

In general, you can walk there all day well. Most importantly, don't forget to bring snacks!

In the evening, we phoned local car owners to pick us up at the checkpoint of the reserve.
40 kilometers from the village to the checkpoint, local carriers, as part of an agreement, are estimated at 1,500 rubles per car.
The next day at 8 am we started from Kamennomostsky to Lago-Naki.

The first day.
Checkpoint Lago-Naki - Fisht Shelter

At the checkpoint, the first thing I had to do was coordinate the route. We drew ourselves a difficult and interesting one for 7-9 days, but the forester immediately said that you won’t pass this way.
The heavy snowfalls of this winter and the cold, long spring have made adjustments - most of even the standard trail of route No. 30 is still covered with snow, and even higher, on other trails, even more so.
I had to simplify the route - we decided to go for the first time as standard, not to show off. And then somehow come back and go the other way.

Outside the gates of the checkpoint, beauty began almost immediately, but I controlled myself and did not take 10,500 shots per second.

The realization that now we are going there, beyond the horizon, was somehow even frightening. And the Krandets backpack was still heavy. Mine weighed about 13 kilograms, the guys have more. And we still squeezed as best we could, I try to get rid of excess weight and everything that is not really necessary!

The mood is cheerful, but the weather forecast with daily rain somehow saddens me a little, so there is no particular happiness and anticipation to get wet through my face.
In fact, everything turned out to be not so scary.
They got wet, of course, through and through, but against the background of fatigue, they didn’t give a damn about it and slept soundly.
In general, we must not piss and go to the mountains.

At this height it is not yet summer (but it is the beginning of June), it is still spring here.
Streams murmur, spring flowers bloom.

Blue gave the mountains, sunny, warm. You can get burned in half an hour, sunscreen is not a luxury here, but a means of salvation. And with such a good protective factor of 50, for example.

And here are the first snows, still in the distance.

The road slowly rises higher and higher. There are no sharp rises yet, but the dragging exhausts forces thoroughly.
Snowfields have to be crossed carefully, poking with sticks - under a layer of snow there may be a knee-deep stream.

We rise to the river Armenianka. This is where commercial smooth-running groups usually make an overnight stay.
Passed 9 kilometers.
Lunch time, we decide to have a bite to eat sandwiches and drink hot tea.

The shepherd's houses are locked up, the Armenianka River is still covered with snow...

Having eaten and rested, we decide that today we are able to overcome the second route day at once, this is another 10 kilometers.
We decided to spend the night at the Fisht shelter.

Why do we go hiking? Kissing of course :)

Pass Instructor's gap.

The road steadily rose, snowfields became more and more.
The snow is loose, and it was possible to walk along the slope in trekking boots, properly sticking trekking poles and practicing the step "herringbone" or "ladder", as you climb uphill on a ski.

In the meantime, clouds started moving towards us from the neighboring mountains...

And the higher the path led us, constantly getting lost in the snow, the colder it became. The air was already chilly, wintry, damp.

The snake lake is only half open from under the snow...

But in it the frogs were already having sex with might and main and spawning whole mountains of caviar.

    Most of all I liked how Kostya portrayed a skier against the backdrop of the Fisht glacier; how I helped two girls down the glacier; how in the fog someone called Katya, and on our return we found her; the most delicious water from the Pshekhsky waterfall; and the best thing is when you take off your shoes after a hike. It would be nice to have more detailed instructions on camping life (life hacks), for example, if I knew that it’s better not to put kazinaki in a backpack at night, then the Caucasian noble mouse would not gnaw it through me. It is better to give a general tent more waterproof, rain. The guide Slava is worthy of respect, very reliable, conducted safely, calculated everything, clearly planned everything and instructed before the route.

    I liked the amazing nature of the Caucasus. I would like to note the high professionalism and friendliness of our guide.

    Climbing Fisht was the highlight. I remember the splendor of nature, the beauty of waterfalls.
    Kuleshova I.V. 06/30/2016

    There is very little space to describe all the events and adventures that I would like to remember for the rest of my life. Our guide Slava is awesome. This incredible adventure took place thanks to him.
    Tyurina E.A. 06/30/2016

    Most of all I remember the ascent to Fisht. Our guide Vyacheslav is worthy, smart, charming.
    Lozova S.A. 06/30/2016

    Most of all I remember the Lago-Nani plateau, the ascent to Fisht. That there were many halts and small crossings. The route is very interesting. I would like to add more running days, for 2-3. Very satisfied with the guide. everything was professional. Although the guide did not have a radio or satellite cell phone, this is not good.

Hi all! While new trips are only being prepared, I decided to recall the past and write about hike through the Caucasus through the mountains to the sea. And it was in the distant, distant 2008, when the creative association ProYOU went to relatives in Adygea with the idea of making a short trip with access to the sea.

After a short stay with relatives (to whom we will return more than once ;-)), a trip to Maykop, and hiking through the surrounding waterfalls, we found a local guide, Slava. He agreed to take us through the mountains for a small fee. And even arranged a minibus directly to the house! We probably could have gone by ourselves, but the new location and the presence of the reserve, as well as the prospect of solving issues with environmental authorities on our own, prompted us to take a guide.

The legendary all-Union tourist route No. 30 or simply “thirty” starts from the checkpoint of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, passes along the Lago-Naki plateau, through the passes of the Caucasian ridge, and ends in Dagomys, already on the Black Sea coast.

What is interesting about the route "thirty"? It covers several climatic zones at once - alpine meadows, mountain peaks with eternal snows, fir forests and subtropics of the coast. There is also a reserve here, and this helped to preserve the unique nature, rare and unique animals, birds, and plants. It is quite possible to meet bears here (in rare cases, of course) - we saw small and large footprints.

The route runs near the Oshten and Fisht mountains, from which many rivers of the region originate. You are guaranteed stunning landscapes of the Caucasus Mountains, stormy mountain rivers, the smell of herbs, a mountain bath and much more!

The route through the mountains to the sea looks like this: the checkpoint of the reserve - Instructor's gap - Armenian pass - Fisht shelter - Belorechensky pass - Cherkessky pass - Babuk-Aul shelter - Solokh-Aul shelter.

Trek to the Fisht Shelter

The minibus took us to the checkpoint, from where we went on foot along the Lago-Naki plateau. The spaces are incredible! The trail goes through alpine meadows, now and then bumping into streams and lakes, somewhere in the distance you can see a herd of horses.

From the Lago-Naki plateau, the trail passes to the slope of the Oshten mountain massif, the views become more and more “vertical”))

Amazing nature! The fields are just bursting with green...

Mountain Caucasian forbs

Our guide Slavik is a very cool dude, he has a special dialect, a mixture of Caucasian and Rostov)))

It's hard to go out of habit ...

For the whole day we walked about 7 km, not much, but the landscapes succeed each other with kaleidoscopic speed! At the end of the day we crossed the Armenian pass, the descent from which ended at the Fisht shelter. It is located at the foot of the famous mountain on the Belaya River, one might say at its source. From the pass you have a stunning view of the surrounding mountains!

View from the Armenian pass to the Fisht shelter and the valley of the Belaya river

There is a revival in the shelter - a lot of tents, people crowd around the kitchen, where you can order something to eat. Here are some bearded men...

Radial hike to the Big Fisht Glacier

The glacier is located at an altitude of more than 2800 meters above sea level. Fisht is famous for the presence of a large number of caves, grottoes, underground rivers. The most famous of them are the Soaring Bird Cave and the deepest White Star Cave in Russia. Also, Fisht is the westernmost peak of the Caucasus, which has glaciers.

To all these beauties we went the next morning. At first, the path slowly rises up, then very steep rocky ledges begin to meet, along which you have to climb up. With each new such ledge, more and more breathtaking views open up.

You can see the Fisht shelter below:

We go higher and higher to Mount Fisht, the views are opposite

Finally, we reached the glacier, walked a little more up it. In general, people ascend Fisht, the category of such an ascent is 1B, but we were not going to.

Above, only rocks, ice and gray thunderclouds

The guide Slava took a funny spaniel dog with him. It was difficult for her to go up and it was so hot that only when she saw the snow, she plunged into it with pleasure and let's ride on her back! Then I bathed in the sources of the Belaya River ;-) So I ran all wet and happy.

Shelter "Fisht" - shelter "Babuk-aul"

Our path lies further - through the mountains to the Black Sea. From the very early morning we got up and with the very first walker mastered the Belorechensky pass, where fierce battles took place during the Great Patriotic War. This is reported by a memorial obelisk, installed at the top of the pass. In general, this whole area has a rich military history, there are signs here and there, the remains of trenches ...

View from the Circassian pass to the Armenian pass. Fisht shelter in the valley

Here is another map-scheme of the area of our trip:

After the Circassian Pass, the trail goes through a dense southern forest, where we stopped for lunch. Here you can already feel the subtropical climate and the proximity of the sea. Completely different plants and humidity. In general, nature, of course, is very different from the Altai, and even more so, Omsk, which is familiar to me.

Here the she-bear passed with the cub

Then begins a long descent into the valley of the Shakhe River, it is also called a fun descent. Imagine 7 kilometers only down the roots and the ground)) Everything is fine, but the knees towards the end begin to behave strangely, infrequently such a load falls on them! Whoever went down there will understand me :-)

Main Caucasian Range

Then you need to cross the suspension bridge over the Shakhe River, and the nearest shelter is within easy reach!

The shelter "Babuk-aul" is comfortably located on a large clearing in the middle of the southern warm forest. Unlike our former place of lodging for the night, here women are in charge of everything. You know, after all, the atmosphere is very different - calm and tranquility. Everything is neat, the tables are under a canopy, a great shower, and the stream flows right behind the "dining room"))

Shelter "Babuk-aul"

Finish line - the road to the sea in the back of a truck

Yesterday was a very long evening with wine and songs by the fire, so the morning was not waking up)) But there is nothing to do, especially since right in the morning the other guys and I agreed to chip in on the passing Gaz-66 towards the sea. And we had to leave right “now”, we didn’t even have time to have breakfast.

And yet, everything happens not by chance and not in vain! We would need a whole day. to walk along the Shakhe River to the village of Solokh-aul. And the road is not the most interesting - mud in the forest, no surrounding views.

I am amazed at the power of Gaz-66 - the truck easily drives right along the river, wading through lying trees and wet stones. In the back of course shakes mercilessly! But it’s interesting all the time: either a branch will whip in the ear, or you will jump half a meter, well, you also need to have time to talk with the guys from Chelyabinsk ;-)

In the village of Solokh-aul, we rested for a couple of hours and waited for the bus to Dagomys. The road to Dagomys is very exciting with its views, sharp turns, it constantly goes down to the sea. It was not possible to photograph all this beauty, since we are not the only ones who want to quickly plunge into the refreshing sea - a bus full of people!

That's all, our route through the mountains to the sea has ended, the legendary route "thirty" through the Lago-Naki plateau, Mount Fisht, several passes and climatic zones. Then I saw the sea for the first time! This is already later, every year it turns out, I go to these parts, and this was the first time, yes. It is difficult to convey this feeling ... the perfection of nature and the world around, the splendor that is simply impossible to imagine ...

I was still surprised by the locals, who almost don’t swim, they say “what did I forget there?”. I try to appreciate what I have every day, what I can forget about, just out of habit. But beauty is everywhere, you just have to look from the other side. And I urge you to do so!

Not far from Dagomys there is a wonderful place where you can put up tents thirty meters from the sea, it is open and accessible to all. At the same time, there are very few people there, only the railway is noisy at the top, but after a day you get used to it. The beach here is small pebbles and a rather steep descent into the sea, and there is a shower on the neighboring beach of the resort. All conditions for life! Strictly speaking, a tent may not be needed, this is the Krasnodar Territory and the subtropics! I highly recommend you go to!

An incredibly popular tourist route that runs through the mountains of the Caucasus in Adygea and ends on the Black Sea coast, in Dagomys, was called “Through the Caucasus Mountains to the Black Sea”. The participants of the fascinating seven-day trip had an unforgettable meeting with the harsh passes of the main Caucasian ridge and wayward mountain rivers, exotic protected animals, birds and plants. In addition, the route covered almost all the landscape and climatic zones of the former Soviet Union: from snow-capped mountain peaks and luxurious high-mountain alpine meadows to magnificent fir-beech forests and humid subtropics of the coast.

Route 30 appeared in the 30s of the last century, when tourism in the USSR began to be actively promoted as the most optimal means of spending healthy leisure time (with simultaneous improvement and broadening of horizons) of Soviet citizens. It was then that numerous tourist routes and professional schools were opened in the country to train tourism instructors, and shelters for halts were built. But, unfortunately, this well-established system was significantly destroyed after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and subsequently not all routes were restored. However, the famous “thirty”, on which about a hundred thousand tourists passed during the season, was lucky - we can say that she survived her second birth! ..

Route number 30 starts from the borders of the unique Caucasian State Biosphere Reserve, continues along the picturesque Lagonaki plateau and passes the foot of the mysterious peak of Mount Oshten, hidden behind the clouds. Next, tourists will have an unforgettable descent into the valley of the Belaya River, which begins near the majestic slopes covered with glaciers, which gave life to more than one mountain stream. And ahead - the Belorechensky and Cherkessky passes of the majestic Main Caucasian Range, which witnessed fierce battles during the Great Patriotic War. But then the route becomes a many-kilometer descent, the landscape of which is filled with the light of the surrounding beech forests, which, after crossing the air bridge over the Shakhe River, change into real humid subtropics.

The famous “thirty” is completely unique not only for its route relief, but also for its magnificent panorama of the surrounding landscapes, because it is no coincidence that the nature and many sights of Adygea are recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage of our planet. Incredibly beautiful black tulips, found exclusively in the alpine meadows of the Lago-Naki plateau, amazing mountain vistas, icy fonts of small waterfalls, chamois frolicking among the dazzling snows - the route is simply filled with beauty and a unique sense of belonging to the amazing world of wild and pristine nature.

The “thirtieth” route is still popular, and many tourists, once having passed it, return to it again and again, turning these amazing trips into another glorious annual tradition of their lives. After all, this route is its own philosophy and attitude, a unique opportunity for self-knowledge and self-determination!..

An exemplary itinerary includes:

Day 1.

Arrival at the camp site in Khadzhokh, accommodation in rooms and acquaintance with the tour guide. Lunch at the camp site. Acquaintance with the surrounding sights, a walk and a sightseeing tour to the picturesque granite canyon, the Through Cave. In the evening after dinner - a tourist evening of acquaintances and songs accompanied by a guitar.

Day 2

Hike to the natural attraction of the area - the gorge, on the way to which tourists can admire seven of the most beautiful waterfalls and picturesque rocks, as well as examine the grotto, which was the site of a primitive man. Hiking lunch by the fire in the gorge. Return to the starting camp site with a periodic stop at the observation decks.

Day 3

Automobile transfer from the Khadzhokh camp site to the Lago-Naki plateau, where the border of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve is located. Exit to the pedestrian part of the route (7 km trail along the Lago-Naki plateau and the southeastern slope of Mount Oshten) and breakfast on the plateau. Passage through picturesque passes with amazing views of the Main Caucasian Range: Abadzesh, Instructor's Gap, Guzeripl and Armenian. Lunch at the mountain lake Triangular. The descent from the Armenian Pass ends at a huge Fishtinsky glade with a very beautiful mountain panorama and a small river - the location of the Fisht shelter, where a mountain bath awaits tourists.

Day 4

Radial exit of the tourist group to the Small Fisht Glacier, which is considered the lowest glacier in the North-Western Caucasus and has an age of about ten thousand years. Travelers will climb to a height of 2300 meters and meet with the Victoria Falls, starting under the very top of Fisht. Return descent to the shelter.

Day 5

Radial exit of the group to the Great Fisht Glacier, located at an altitude of 2857 meters. On Mount Fisht, tourists are waiting for a classic nival zone, characterized by bare rocks, eternal snow and ice. Also, this peak is famous for the abundance of karst caves (often with underground rivers), grottoes, funnels and voids that form bizarre natural labyrinths that attract most speleologists. The complexity of the classic ascent to Fisht is rated as 1B (according to the classification of climbers). From the top of Fisht, an enchanting panorama opens up to most of the mountain peaks of Adygea and the Krasnodar Territory.

Day 6

Morning departure of the group from the "Fisht" shelter and ascent to the heroic Belorechensky pass, located at an altitude of 1776 meters. Almost everywhere it bears reminders of the bloody battles during the Great Patriotic War - the remains of trenches and stone barricades, traces of bullets on the rocks, commemorative signs and memorials ... Descent from the pass along the southern side of the Main Caucasian Range. Further, tourists are waiting for another simple pass - Cherkessky, after overcoming which the group will say goodbye to the majestic Fisht wall and through the light beech forests of the Colchis type will begin a steep, almost seven-kilometer descent into the valley of the Shakhe River, to the shelter "Babuk-aul".

Day 7

From the “Babuk-aul” shelter, the tourist group follows the picturesque gorge of the Shakhe River, located in the zone of humid subtropics and dotted with numerous mountain streams, dozens of large and small charming waterfalls. A fascinating path leads travelers through a relic yew-boxwood grove (ancient plants, some of which are thousands of years old, and common on Earth since the time of dinosaurs). Next, tourists will have an exciting transition along a hanging footbridge across the Bzych River and a rest with lunch on a pretty sandy beach (with the possibility of swimming in a mountain river for everyone). After rest - exit to the end point of the hiking trail, the shelter "Solokhaul", located 30 km from the Black Sea.
