Vietnam

Vietnam is our love at first sight. This is the best place where you can relax in the winter abroad by the warm sea. We have already met there three times.

Advantages: very cheap, delicious food, nice people, unique culture, great hotels (even for $10), lots of attractions, nice beaches.

Minuses: sanitation in catering is a weak point of the Vietnamese. However, this applies to almost all of Southeast Asia. If you disdain to eat with locals in street cafes, choose more expensive establishments.

Modern slopes of different difficulty levels with comfortable ski lifts, an extreme park with ski jumps, and most importantly, a well-developed infrastructure with a good road from the airport, hotels, bars and restaurants of international level and the largest equipment rental point in Russia. The main Alpika-Service ski complex has four chairlifts, and the total length of the slopes is 14 km with a vertical drop of 1680 meters. The skiing season lasts here from November to May.

The rocky and treeless Khibiny Mountains were conceived by the forces of nature as a volcano, but the hot magma flows could not break through to the surface, but only formed a huge mound with a diameter of 50 km on the Kola Peninsula. Snow fields packed with snowstorms allow you to drive wherever your eyes look, the width of the tracks here is completely unlimited. The Khibiny are located beyond the Arctic Circle, and from December 14 to January 4, the sun does not appear above the horizon, but you can ride on well-lit trails at night. Also, springboards for jumping were built here, and in 1990 Khibiny became the Russian base for Olympic freestyle training. There are six rope tows and one chair lift on Mount Aikuaivenchorr, and the total length of the slopes is 30 km. The skiing season lasts from October to May.

The resort of Zabljak is one of the highest mountain towns in the Balkans, it is located at an altitude of 1465 m, and buses run from all city hotels to the ski lifts. Ski slopes on the slopes of the Durmitor National Park are great for beginners in snowboarding and skiing. There are adult and children's lifts on the three main slopes, several ski and snowboard schools and a large selection of rental equipment. Some of the tracks are illuminated, while the rest are open from 10 am to 4 pm. The length of the longest track on the slope of Savin Kuk is 3500 meters. The skiing season lasts from December to April.

The sunny valley of Bakuriani is surrounded by the ridges of the Greater Caucasus, due to which the weather there is almost always calm, and the sun shines 210 days a year. It is on the tops of the Bakurian Mountains that the famous sources of Borjomi mineral water originate. The main descent from Mount Kokhta is a 1800 meter long trail that starts off with a steep and bumpy section and then turns into a plateau. Beginners should not climb to the highest station, it is better to ride from the middle of the mountain, but thrill-seekers can go down the difficult slope of Mount Mitarbi, but only accompanied by an instructor-guide. In Bakuriani, a half-pipe, a border cross, and three ski jumps have been built: 45 m, 70 m and 90 m. The skiing season lasts from late November to late March.

The Pirin mountain range is a Bulgarian UNESCO reserve, and the ancient city of Bansko at the foot of its northern slopes could be an architectural museum of the Renaissance, each local house is so beautiful and authentic. There are trails of all difficulty levels, as well as excellent conditions for freeriding. A special night track with bright illumination is open for skiing 24 hours a day. On the tracks for beginners there are instructors, including Russian speakers. A lot of snow falls here every year, and special snow cannons increase the length of natural trails by almost a third. The total length of all routes is 56 km. The skiing season in Bansko is the longest in Bulgaria - from December to May.

The picturesque valley near the Hohe Salve mountain range includes nine resorts; among them - the cozy village of Söll with mountain huts and hospitable hosts, visiting whom it is easy to feel at home. In general, the resort is ideal for relaxed skiing and family holidays - there are a lot of simple but long slopes, schools for adults and a children's ski club. For active youth, a fun park and a half-pipe have been built, as well as brightly lit night tracks. The total length of well-maintained ski slopes is 250 km, on sunny days, which are quite a lot, 160 km of slopes are serviced by snow cannons. The best season for skiing is from January to early March.

The Italian Dolomites is a super-resort that combines the ski areas of twelve famous ski resorts in Italy. Among other things, there is also a carousel of slopes that has become a landmark, along which you can move in a circle in both directions. 500 km of slopes with a well-thought-out system of lifts was called the “round the world” Sella Ronda, the slopes are simpler counterclockwise, steeper and more interesting slopes go clockwise, in both cases you can go the whole circle in a whole day and return home tired, but overwhelmed with impressions. The total length of all pistes on which the single Dolomiti Superski ski pass operates exceeds 1200 km. The season for skiing is from November to April.

The Himalayas are the highest mountains on earth, but there are few ski resorts here, the largest is in the Indian state of Kashmir. The main advantage of the local slopes is untouched expanses for skiing on powder, vast snowfields, a large elevation difference and forest areas devoid of undergrowth. Since the local population is not particularly fond of skiing, the slopes are very free, and the fallen snow lies untouched for a long time. The cable car lifts vacationers in closed six-seater cabins, and ski lifts lead to the trails for beginners. The total length of the cable car is 5 km. The skiing season lasts from mid-December to March.

Toshal, Iran's closest ski resort to Tehran, has been affectionately called "home" by residents of the capital. Alpine snow here is very fine and dry, for which it is especially appreciated by freeride lovers. The longest gondola lift in the world is stretched to the top of the slopes - a trip of 8 km gives a great chance to admire the landscape, gradually flowing from the sandy desert to the endless snow fields. Steep walls with trails of various difficulty levels descend from 3850 m to 1600 m. The total length of the trails is 17 km. The skiing season is the longest in Iran - from mid-November to the end of April.

In modern times, we live gentlemen and there are more and more opportunities for travel. Turkey and Egypt are rather tired, but I also want to relax where it is warm and the sea, the sun, and the beach.

Last New Year's holidays, the family made a wish: "We want summer in the middle of winter." And, without thinking for a long time, they themselves realized it: they bought a tour to Goa - the smallest and everyone's favorite state in hot India. There, for a whole week, they fled from frost and blizzards. Well, how were they saved? In the whirlwind of resort life, one somehow did not think about winter.

Goa in terms of beaches is the richest place. The 100-kilometer beach line stretches continuously. The beaches, well-groomed with white luxurious sand, are closely adjacent to each other, at least visit a new one every day, but compare. So, by the way, we did.

Lived in the strip Aguada beach. Our hotel, like all the nearby ones, was a measure of luxury: modern, comfortable rooms, furnished according to European standards, but with a touch of local flair. In the courtyard - pools, hammocks, colorful vegetation and egrets, like a revived picture from a book of oriental tales.

When our own beach was not enough for us, the whole family went on adventures. Of the nearby beaches, my family especially won over Dona Paula, one of the most romantic places in South Goa and Bogmalo- the most convenient (located just 4 km from and 8 km from the town of Vasco da Gamma).
