The tallest slide in the world - Brazil. For extreme sports enthusiasts: the highest water slide. Water slides: Cliffhanger

New tallest water slide in the world June 26th, 2016

Some time ago we discussed. Its height was 41 meters.

Schlitterbahn Water Park opened last year. The steepest slide, Verrückt, reaches 52 meters in height, which is a full half meter higher than the Statue of Liberty. The spiral climb takes professional risk-takers to the very top, where they are divided into teams of 4, seated on rubber rafts and rushed down at a speed of 120 km/h.

Let's take a closer look at it...

Photo 2.

"Verrückt" translated from German means "crazy" - in fact, only crazy extreme sports and thrill-seekers would dare to ride the highest and fastest water slide.

The Verrückt water slide is officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest in the world: its height is 51.38 m

Photo 3.

The Verrückt Meg-a-Blaster is a design triumph of insane proportions from Jeff Henry, co-owner and “evil genius” of Schlitterbahn Waterparks. Henry decided he wanted to build a record-breaking slide, which resulted in the creation of "Verrückt".

Photo 4.

“Verrückt” takes four people down in parallel, and as Henry noted, “It’s a lot more fun when someone is screaming next to your ear.” It all starts with a scary fall from a 17-story height and continues with a small climb. And this is more than 180 meters of wet extreme sports. After an initial drop steeper than any ski slope, you reach a second rise five stories high, with new water technology.

Photo 5.

The massive tower around which you'll climb to dizzying heights is made from railroad tanks, cut up and welded together. Builders reuse the material to build the "Verrückt". The attraction differs from Kilimanjaro in that it will be a raft ride and the body will not touch the surface. Although, of course, a raft is not a very comfortable transport when you are flying 50 sheer meters down.

Photo 6.

"Verrückt" is taller than Niagara Falls, the Statue of Liberty (from sandals to torch) and the Tower of London. Not only will it be the world's tallest coaster, but it will also be the steepest and fastest. Henry says that “Verrückt will change the industry. The biggest challenge will be to find extreme sports enthusiasts who will dare to go down.” If you are brave enough, visit Kansas City and challenge yourself!

How about this roller coaster?

The tallest water slide in the world is located in Brazil. It's called Kilimanjaro. It was built in 1999 at the Aquas Quentes Country Club near Rio de Janeiro. Its height is 49.9 meters! This is the height of a 17-story building. Your head just goes spinning, being next to this giant! It will take you a long time to climb to a height of 50 meters, but the descent on the Kilimanjaro slide will take only 7 seconds. And this at a speed of more than 100 meters/hour! By the way, the other tallest slide in the world is also located in Brazil. This is the Insano water slide in the Fortaleza Beach Park water park. It held the title of the tallest water slide in the world until 2005. Its height is slightly less, only 41 meters.

The longest water slide in the world.
Americans are big fans of roller coasters or Russian coasters, when you, with your eyes closed, rush along steep turns, diving up and down. It is not surprising that America is home to the two longest water slides in the world! These are the Wildebeest and Mammoth slides at the Holiday World & Splashin' Safari entertainment center, which is located in Indiana in the city of Santa -Klaus. The length of the slides is simply amazing! The Wildebeest stretches across the park for 520 meters! This is one of the longest water slides in the world! Only Mammoth is longer than it. Its length is 537 meters. It was the Mammoth water slide that was included in the Book Guinness World Records in 2012. You will cover the entire distance (more than 500 meters) in less than 3 minutes. A crazy roller coaster awaits you, where instead of small carriages there are inflatable rafts designed for 4 people. During the descent you will overcome steep climbs and descend from 20 meters high, spin around a closed pipe until the water pushes you out into open areas again, so that you can experience the most unpredictable descents. Such a descent will be remembered for a long time by everyone!

The scariest water slide.
The United Arab Emirates resembles an oriental fairy tale come to life. Everything here surprises and amazes. It was in the United Arab Emirates that a water slide with sharks was first built. It is located on the First artificial Palm Island in the Aquaventure water park. The slide was called “The Leap of Faith”. An extraordinary pyramid 27 meters high rises above the water park. This is the water attraction “The Leap of Faith”. An almost vertical descent awaits you from the pyramid. While you wait your turn at the top of the pyramid, you can watch the sharks below. It seems that the pool below is simply teeming with bloodthirsty predators looking out for their prey. You'll have time to spot a couple of sharks as you quickly descend the slide before you disappear from their greedy gaze underwater. It seems that the worst is already behind us. But once underwater you almost encounter sharks. A thin glass pipe separates you from them! It seems that you can reach out and touch the sharks. But the water quickly carries you through a pool with sharks. The adrenaline just goes off scale after such an attraction!

Unfortunately, there was an accident associated with the highest water slide - a 10-year-old boy died while descending from the main attraction of the water park, the Verruckt slide. Since the opening of the attraction, only children over 14 years old and at least 137 cm tall were allowed on it. Probably, the rules were later relaxed.
