The Consulate of Spain is loyal to the citizens of the Russian Federation. In 95% of cases, you will be approved for a 6-month multiple-entry visa even on the first application (this does not apply to urgent visa requests). Thus, the Spanish government is trying to increase the attractiveness of the country for tourists. Most applicants are not aware of such a “generosity” of the Spanish consulate, which can be used by mercenary agencies, promising each of their clients a multiple-entry visa, and even for six months at once. Even if you still decide to apply to the agency, be aware that the approved multiple entry visa is absolutely not their merit.

Of course, there are exceptions when the Spaniards issue visas for a shorter period, or instead of a Schengen visa they issue a national Spanish visa (not a Schengen visa), according to which, except for Spain, you cannot get anywhere. However, most often this happens to applicants who have previously been noted for incorrect use of visas, “bad behavior” or violation of the law or visa regime in the territory, having a corresponding note about themselves in the database. Such cases are indeed few, however, they cannot be completely ruled out. Carefully read the visa issuance.

Terms of consideration of the application at the Visa Application Center of Spain in Moscow

  • The standard processing time for documents at the Spanish Visa Application Center is 4-6 workers days. As a rule, a passport can be obtained already on the 5th working day after the submission of documents.
  • The processing time for a business visa application when applying for an urgent tariff is 3 workers day, including the day of submission. Documents for a visa are accepted strictly 3 working days before departure. This review option may not be available due to the high workload of the embassy.

For example, you have a flight on Saturday/Sunday/Monday. We are counting back 3 working days - the documents will be accepted on Wednesday (and only!). Departure on Tuesday - documents will be accepted on Thursday (and only!).

  • When applying for a business visa at a super-urgent rate, a decision on your case will be made on the same day. This option is available only after approval by the Consul. You should get to the Visa Application Center as early as possible - in this case, there is still a chance that your visa will be approved within 24 hours.
  • The term for consideration of a visa request directly depends on the seasonality at the Consulate.

In regional visa centers, the processing time may be longer due to the need to send documents to the Consulate and back.

Visa to countries

A visa is a document that allows you to enter a country.

Countries are visa-free, visa-free and conditionally visa-free. a list of countries by which you can check which type of visa regime, which country belongs to.

Do I need a visa for Spain?

Yes. Spain is a country that is part of the Schengen area. You need a visa to travel to Spain.

Is it difficult to get a visa to Spain?

About 8 years ago, it was difficult to open a visa to Spain. Spain was known as the most capricious Schengen country. Many failures, strict selection.

Now the conditions for obtaining a visa have become easier. Moreover, on tourist forums and in communities, we now and then meet joyful messages from independent tourists that they have been issued an annual visa. You can read about how to get a Schengen multivisa.

What is joy? The fact that they applied for a regular short-term visa for a trip to Spain, and in the Spanish visa center they thought something, looked at the tourist's travel history and decided to issue a visa to Spain for a year.

These are the pleasant surprises you can get from the Spanish visa center.

How to apply for a tourist visa to Spain

Applying for a visa to Spain on your own is no more difficult than applying through a travel agency. But much cheaper. We have talked about this more than once, and we will talk more.

To obtain a visa to Spain, you need to collect a package of documents and submit them to the Spanish Visa Application Center or the Spanish Consulate.

What is the difference?

At the consulate:

  1. Submission of documents for a visa by appointment. Those. you need to call the consulate or go to their website and find out what date you can make an appointment
  2. You pay only for the visa (the visa fee for Russian citizens is 35 euros.).
  3. Issue a visa only for the requested dates

At the visa center:

  1. Information updated for June 2017- You can apply for a visa only by appointment.
  2. A visa fee is also taken, the visa category is tourist. Information from the official website: the visa fee is 2260 rubles, and the service fee is 998 rubles. Only cash is accepted. The cost of a visa may vary depending on the euro exchange rate.
  3. Can issue a visa for a year

Surely, there is a difference in the degree of complexity of your question or in details, but you need to find out about this only at the consulate or visa center itself.

Information about all visa centers in Russian cities is on the official website Spain Visa Application Center.

You need to learn about what documents are needed and what are the requirements for them from the materials published only on the official site.

There you can also find out information on the visa centers themselves - in which cities new ones have opened, in which they have closed, when the visa centers have holidays, and when they work normally.

The list of documents to be submitted to the visa center is the same as in many other EU countries:

  • profile,
  • passport (and a copy of all pages)
  • A copy of all pages of other passports: valid and canceled.
  • A copy of the completed pages of a civil passport
  • certificate from the place of work,
  • hotel reservations
  • confirmation of your financial solvency,
  • bank statement (financial status: 64.53 € per person per day of stay (minimum 580.77 € per trip per person)
  • insurance,
  • photos (make it in advance, there is no such service in the new visa center yet).

Therefore, people deceive themselves when they pay money for obtaining a visa to intermediaries who supposedly have special opportunities and loopholes in the visa center.

The visa center has a special room for submitting group documents. We saw specialists there. In the same way, they are waiting for their turn, preparing their folders, submitting documents to the window.

Friends, the visa center is a very convenient place where everything is thought out and done for the convenience of the person submitting the documents.

But there are also cases when it will be easier to issue documents through a travel agency.

Friends, now we are in Telegram: our channel about Europe, our channel about Asia. Welcome)
