Helsinki is a light, pleasant, easy-to-handle city. It feels like you are always welcome here - judging by the fact that Finns are always smiling, from the cashier in the supermarket to the policeman. But for some moments it is better to be prepared in advance. We gave general tips for staying in the capital of Finland, which we learned from our own experience.

Prices in Helsinki: not for average wallets

Helsinki, in comparison with Russia, even with Moscow, is a little expensive - especially with the current exchange rate. Clothing on sale does not count. You can really buy clothes here for a few euros. But the rest is better to stock up on money.

As an example, the photo below shows a typical lunch in a fast food food court in one of the shopping centers in Helsinki. Nothing out of the ordinary, all the pleasure costs about 7.5 euros, that is, with our money ... yes, in general, it’s pointless to guess, estimate for yourself at the time of reading 🙂

Well, and so, in principle, in everything - from a cup of coffee to books and technology. In short, fares are: single trip 2.5-3 euros, day ticket 8 euros, for two weeks 14 euros for one mode of transport, for bus, tram and metro 32 euros for one week. Read more about tariffs for public urban transport in the previous one.

Where does the ferry from St. Petersburg to Helsinki arrive?

Sightseeing Bus City Tour

The "city tour" hop on hop off scheme is the same in all cities: you buy a ticket and ride for one or two days along the tourist route, getting off the bus and getting on it as many times as you like. For example, get out near a certain museum, look around it and after a couple of hours get back on the same bus (or exactly the same) and follow the route further.

Walking through this fabulously beautiful and stunning Scandinavian city will not be so difficult even for a tourist who has come here for the first time. Having once visited this fantastically beautiful metropolis with its own character and peculiarities, you will certainly want to come here again. However, it is much better to have a map in your native language!

We take and start the journey right now.

We offer a look at the most attractive places in the capital, where guests of this wonderful city like to relax.

Map of Helsinki in Russian: we are going to Linnanmäki

This is an amusement park that has been operating since 1950. There is simply an incredible number of rides here, many of which are designed for people with a strong tempered psyche. Take, for example, the extreme attraction "Rocket", which has been operating since 1999. You will be offered to gain a foothold with a special mechanism, being at the top of a high tower. Further, the pneumatic mechanism will begin to freely fall down, ... along with you. In general, then you will share your impressions of free flight for a long time.

If you like it, check out Linnanmäki Park, which is located on Tivolikuja Street, at its very beginning. On your next visit, this will help you quickly navigate and find the park.

By the way, if you are traveling with children, you will most likely have to get to Linnanmäki more than once, which means we take map of Helsinki in Russian and looking for nearby hotels.

Hotels on the map of Helsinki in Russian

There are a lot of options, there are hotels with a comfort level of 2 stars, offering budget types of rooms. There are expensive hotels, the cost of living in which not everyone can afford. Take on a pencil:

  • Holiday Inn Helsinki Exhibit & Convention Center: 3 stars, affordable accommodation, and a lot of additional options, and the park is only 1 km away;
  • Hotel Cumulus Olympia, also a three-star hotel, is almost the same in price as the first option, but it is some 500 m to Linnanmäki.

There are other ways of accommodation that can be found on map of Helsinki in Russian.

Entertainment is entertainment, and there is little to surprise a hungry tourist. Meal can be combined with a visit to another attraction of the capital. We suggest finding map of Helsinki in Russian Market Square and go to the herring fair.

The list of fish delicacies presented here is incredibly long. This is the traditional spicy or salty herring, and marinades and other goodies. Looking for something warm and natural? The fair sells products made of sheep wool in different models.

Well, how not to try real island bread!

Haltia, the new natural center of Suomi country

We move to the north of the capital. Here, in the suburbs of Helsinki, there is a unique visitor center Haltija - a modern building depicting the figure of a great auk bird. The three-storey building with an area of approximately 3.5 thousand m 2 is made exclusively of wood using the latest environmental technologies.

The cost of the object is simply fantastic, about 17 million Euros. The exhibits of the center will tell you about the life of wild animals, forced to adapt to the harsh conditions of the Finnish winters. On 10 screens, unique shots from the life of the local fauna are broadcast, the largest screen has a height of 18 m. The benevolent and peaceful atmosphere in the hall is achieved by 3D effects that allow you to feel the natural smells of the forest. Well, a lair with a sleeping bear will surprise not only children.

Sea of impressions. After communicating with nature, a person becomes different, have you noticed?

Well, what else will please us map of Helsinki in Russian?

Lovers of beauty can visit an unusual corner of the capital - the Design Quarter.

We suggest navigating through the small park Dianapuisto (find this place on map of Helsinki in Russian), marking Kamppi, Ullanlinna, Kaartinkaupunki and Punavuori as borders.

You have the opportunity to get closer to the world of Finnish design at arm's length. Here, much borders on the concept of "masterpiece". If you wish, you can book an excursion and learn a lot of interesting things from the guide, something that could somehow pass you by.

By using maps of Helsinki in Russian language you will be able to visit the most original exhibitions and get acquainted with the places of the capital that are not listed in numerous guidebooks and reference books.

Ancient monuments, traditional sights and historical museums should definitely be visited, and rightly so. However, if we do not pay attention to extraordinary things that are far from the traditional classics, it will probably be completely boring. And although sometimes it is almost impossible to embrace the immensity, you should still try, right?

The capital of neighboring Finland, the city of Helsinki, is a great destination for a holiday or weekend getaway. The road will not take much time, and there are so many sights that every traveler will find something interesting for himself in this city. The trip will also be exciting for children, as Helsinki also has enough entertainment for them.
