Jomtien beach pattaya where is located. Jomtien Beach – Photo of Jomtien beach promenade and accommodation for rent. When is the best time to swim

Jomtien Beach, Thailand

Jomtien (Jamtien, Jomtien, English Jomtien, Chom Tien) is a beach and the eponymous area of Pattaya. Located on the south side of the city, at a distance of only 10-15 minutes drive from the center of Pattaya.

Due to the remoteness from the center, prices are lower here and there is less noise, but the infrastructure is fully adapted to the needs of vacationers, and the natural conditions are excellent. Every step I want to take a photo. In other words, Jomtien Beach is a great place for a long holiday in Thailand, especially with children.

The beach on the map of Pattaya

There are no places for diving here, the entry into the water is very gentle, at low tide you can generally move away from the coast and splash with might and main in shallow water. So for children and anyone who can't swim, this is a great place. If we talk about the beaches of Pattaya, then Jomtien is one of the cleanest beaches with clean water and coastline. There are also many small cafes and restaurants where you can have a quick and inexpensive meal.

Sun loungers are inexpensive compared to other resorts in Pattaya - on the third line for 40 baht, on the second - for 50, on the first - for 60 or large for 80 baht.

Keep in mind that by paying for a sun lounger, you get a complete beach set - a sunbed, a table, a sun umbrella, a clothes hanger. True, no one guarantees the safety of things, this is already a personal concern for everyone. When the beach fills up, it actually turns into a cafe by the sea, your order will be brought to you with pleasure right to your sun lounger and table.

The strip of the beach is quite narrow, 15 meters, and the length is about 6 km. All this makes Jomtien Beach an ideal place for outdoor recreation as such. In addition, there is no buoy-fenced swimming area, so you often have to wade through boats to get to the real water.

Nearby, along the beach, there is a highway, so it’s convenient to get here, but you don’t have to wait for special purity of air. The water, as elsewhere in Pattaya, is cloudy, it contains both household plastic garbage and organic. And sometimes you can meet and take a photo of coastal inhabitants - starfish and urchins. At low tide you can see the silty bottom.

Central beach.

Every Wednesday is a sanitary day, when not only the shore, but also the water is thoroughly cleaned. In general, Jomtien Beach is actually located within the city, in close proximity to hotels, residential buildings, highways, shops, etc. At the same time, by all accounts, Jomtien Beach is much cleaner than other beaches in Thailand.

Beach infrastructure map

Northern part

In the north, Jomtien Beach passes into the South Pattaya area, the map shows that Jomtien is completely inseparable from Pattaya. Here, a sidewalk stretches along a narrow strip of sand, which is pleasant to walk along at sunset or at night, when everything around is illuminated by city lights. The beach is not crowded with sunbeds, sprawling trees grow around, including palm trees, which serve as a great backdrop for vacation photos.

Northern part of the beach.

The only drawback is that the road is very close. At the same time, this means close proximity to hotels, guesthouses and shops, which is already a big plus. Locals love to come here on their free day.

South part

From the south side, Jomtien proper passes imperceptibly into the Na-Jomtien area. This is a favorite place for family vacations of the Thais themselves. In recent years, there has been a construction boom here, and it is the residents who have come from the capital of Thailand to relax here on weekends that are buying up housing.

central part

The central part of Jomtien offers a more active nightlife, here on Second Street there are about 50 bars at once (in order not to get lost, it is better to determine the location of the area in advance on the map), they are collectively called the New rompho bar complex. In the same area, most of the massage parlors, retail outlets are concentrated, competitions in water sports and so on. Prices here are designed more for the local population than for tourists, therefore, they are lower than in the entertainment areas of central Pattaya.

The pride of Jomtien and what it is appreciated by both local and foreign vacationers is the green, tranquil places that are so beautiful in Thailand. There are few bars and discos, many parks and places for walking or picnics, life is quiet and measured.

This is the best place to stay for your entire holiday in Thailand, and entertainment centers are easily accessible by public transport for only 10 baht. This area is located around the Eighth Street of Jomtien, for the convenience of searching, you can use the tourist map of Pattaya or a GPS navigator.

The shops

What else Jomtien is good for is the close location of all amenities, including all kinds of shops. The main part of Jomtien's infrastructure is located 100-200 meters from the coastline. A large niche is occupied by local small travel agencies that offer a large selection of excursions to the sights of Thailand, islands near the coast, etc.

All amenities in Jomtien are located near the beach.

New impressions, positive emotions and great photos for memory are guaranteed. There are not enough large universal shopping centers here, but at some points you can buy clothes and shoes, beach goods, souvenirs, a huge variety of food, especially worth a visit.

Along the beach there are large chain stores, like Family Mart, where you can buy both personal hygiene products and groceries, next to them there are always ATMs and exchange offices, pharmacies. There is a Jomtien Beauty store on Second Street, which offers a huge range of original Thai cosmetics and perfumes at very good prices. Several large hypermarkets are located at the intersection of Tepprazit and Sukhumvit.

How to get there

The nearest bus station is Thapraya Bus Station, located near the intersection of Thepprasit Road and Thappraya Road. Buses come here not only from Bangkok, but also straight from Thailand's main airport - Suvarnabhumi. From there to the northern part of Jomtien 900 m.

There is a bus number 389 from Bangkok airport to Pattaya from 7 am to 10 pm, it costs 134 baht (for comparison, a taxi will cost no less than 1000 baht) or a bus from exit No. 8 (on the first level of the airport) for 250 baht, but the price includes delivery to the desired hotel in Pattaya.

From the center of Pattaya or from the southern part, you can even walk to Jomten by walking along the coastline (the beach is 3 km from the center of Pattaya). From the northern part of Pattaya, you can go from the North Pattaya Road bus station. There are songteos at the bus station, which transport to the Jomtien area at a fixed price of 30 baht.

If you are relaxing in the center of Pattaya and driving from there, then the easiest way for you to take a scheduled tuk-tuk. Their point of departure is the intersection of South and Second Beach Streets, not far from a large street about 150 m, the fare is 10 baht.

Entertainment

In terms of entertainment and attractions, Jomtien is known for its selection of beach "joys". And jet skis, and a parachute, and a banana, and water skiing - it seems that everything is here. A favorite place for tourists is the local water park with a funicular and the Bungy Jump tower, from where they jump with a cable.

Among the interesting entertainment complexes are Fishing park (paid fishing), Yacht club (yacht trips), and for lovers of cultural recreation - an experimental theater called Thai Alangkarn Theater. Nearby attractions are:

  • floating market;
  • and Mount Buddha;
  • Silver Lake Vineyard;
  • Dinosaur Park.

Housing

Jomtien generally stretches along the coast in a straight line, so there are many housing for tourists near the beach. More high-rise hotels or condominiums, although there are also bungalows or cottages. Of the cheap options - guesthouses.

Many small hotels are not presented on the Internet, and it is difficult to book rooms in advance.

At the same time, in such cheap hotels, rooms can cost only about 400 baht per day. Here it is important to pay attention to whether the hotel is located on the beach side or across the road from it.

For example, in a large luxury hotel complex like Jomtien Palm Beach & Resort Pattaya, a single room in high season can be rented for at least $100 per night, and in low season from $47.

One of the most popular condominiums, Jomtien, offers rooms from 14.5 thousand baht to 22 thousand per month. If you book a room immediately for a long period, longer than a month, you can get a discount. A one-room apartment overlooking the Gulf of Thailand near the beach can be rented for at least 6-7 thousand baht per month. But you need to add here the costs of realtor services, the Internet, cleaning the premises, if you want to order it, etc. In total, get about 12-13 thousand baht.

If you are interested in hotels with one-story cottage-type buildings (bungalow houses), with a lot of green spaces, pay attention, for example, to Villa Navin, with rooms from 1000 baht per night, located on Jomtien Street, that is, in close proximity to the sea .

Jomtien in Pattaya is a famous holiday destination where connoisseurs of the beautiful coastline, picturesque beach areas and comfortable accommodation with convenient service prefer to stay. Jomtien Beach in Thailand is focused not only on the visiting contingent of vacationers - it was chosen by the locals for weekends, social and family picnics.

A lot of useful space, the proximity of urban infrastructure, excellent recreation, opportunities for shopping and trips around the area - Jomtien Thailand is constantly increasing its potential as an attractive tourist center. Recreation areas are regularly updated, the housing market is replete with a variety of offers, and in general, prices allow you to plan a long, eventful vacation.

Where is Jomtien Beach

Jomtien in Thailand is a phrase familiar to the ear of a sophisticated tourist from any state. This is facilitated by the location of the beach. Pattaya, Jomtien district is a resort town on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Thailand. Jomtien Beach in Pattaya is adjacent to the southern urban area and is located just a few kilometers from the city center.

The coast is known for the duration of the usable zone: the beach has a length of up to 4 km, according to some reports even more. Masses of vacationers rush here, so the resort is always filled with people, which is favored by the location of the transport highway. The road runs along almost the entire beach, separating the line of hotels from it. But the traffic is not so active, so the noise of the engines does not interfere with the beach holiday. Constantly running fixed-route taxis (local tuk-tuks) provide a tight connection with the central parts of the city, where (or from where) you can get there in a quarter of an hour and 10 baht (~ $ 0.3).

Despite the crowds and the typical noise of leisure lovers associated with this, this Pattaya beach is recognized as much quieter and calmer than the neighboring city center. Therefore, Jomtien Beach in Pattaya Thailand is especially popular among lovers of walking along the coast, peaceful pastime by the sea and generally living at the sea edge.

Beach and promenade

Due to its impressive size, Jomtien Beach in Pattaya is divided into three segments: southern, central, northern. A motorway runs along the first two, the northern part is framed by a pedestrian sidewalk paved with beautiful tiles. A couple of years ago, the embankment was reconstructed: a thematic photo zone appeared with the name of the resort, fresh green spaces and flower beds were added. The walking area has significantly expanded and become more comfortable, and the newly ennobled beach immediately increased its tourist ratings.

The opportunity to take a photo against the background of the inscription Jomtien Phatthaya Beach (Jomtien Phatthaya Beach) attracts even more young people. In addition, a long stone bench is arranged along the large-scale letters. By evening, the best places are occupied on it to enjoy the views of the sea and sunset.

Sand and water

The quietest parts of the beach are at the southern tip, Thais rush here, with companies and with children. The central part can also be called quiet and decent. The northern region is the most urbanized and close to urban infrastructure. The sandy coating on the beach is soft, pleasant, yellowish tones. The water is also yellowish, may be cloudy. The sand here is very fond of children, they are happy to dig in it and build castles.

Entry into the water is comfortable, the bottom is flat, without drops and traumatic elements. From November to February there are no low tides and no big waves. True, on the shore and in the water sometimes there is something from the garbage, however, Jomtien is considered one of the cleanest resort areas in Pattaya. Plastic and vegetable objects are regularly cleaned by beach staff, but since the nearby city is large, this is not always possible to do on time. From the unexpected - clusters of jellyfish may appear, which can sting unpleasantly. This phenomenon happens somewhere in the middle of summer and lasts a couple of weeks.

Facilities: sunbeds, cafe

The beach strip is quite wide and roomy - from one and a half to three dozen meters, enough space for placement in the sun to sunbathe. On the shore there is shady vegetation that allows you to take a break from direct sunlight. Rent of sun loungers, umbrellas is available at a price of 40-100 Thai baht (~ $ 1.24-3.10).

Often, rented beach places at the same time become part of the service of the nearest cafe, so that orders can be received while sunbathing on the shore. Next to the sunbeds are small tables for the convenience of placing drinks and things. Nearby massage parlors and travel agencies.

Although many who do not want to swim or sunbathe, just relax, sitting in the shade of palm trees and admiring the sea views. There are also shops, cafes, offers of soft drinks and typical beach delicacies for a snack. The comfort of idle pastime is also facilitated by new approaches to cleanliness: the old garbage cans are removed, new modern containers, neat in appearance, calling for waste sorting, are placed in their place.

It should be noted that the local authorities are trying very hard to give the resort the image of a family, health-improving holiday for decent tourists. The beach is signposted, equipped with toilets and showers, modern ramps for wheelchairs and prams, and in order to reduce the urban burden on the environment, “no sunbed” days are held (usually this day of the week is Wednesday).

Jomtien infrastructure: convenience, organization, accessibility

Jomtien also offers ordinary beach activities, such as banana or jet skiing, boat trips, a small flight under a parachute canopy, water skiing and boards, and high-altitude jumping. A wide variety of children's entertainment - you can choose a trampoline, a children's disco, a performance by a magician, a cheerful dancer, cheer up by watching other numbers.

It also offers tourists a cable car, a water park, a yacht club, a fish park, entertainment clubs, music bars and much more. All this is offered during the daytime, since the Jomtien area lives a calm, measured life, and in search of night-type entertainment venues, you need to go to the center of Pattaya. Jomtien Beach in Thailand is also a venue for sports competitions, including world-class ones, such as jet skiing, beach ball games, and windsurfing.

Additionally, local travel agencies organize trips from Jomtien to visit:

wat yan
  • dolphinarium;
  • temple Wat Yan;
  • Hill of the Golden Buddha with an observation deck;
  • dinosaur park;
  • Nong Nooch garden;
  • a million-year-old rock park;
  • crocodile farm.

So you can see a lot of things on Jomtien on your own.

What and where to buy

Cafes, restaurants and shops in Jomtien are numerous and varied. Here you will find absolutely everything: from beach accessories to unique souvenirs. Prices are similar to other areas in Pattaya, so there is no need to organize separate shopping tours. In addition, there is a night market on the beach, where you can buy everything you need every day. Near the beach there is a post office, pharmacies and the technical benefits of civilization: bank branches, ATMs, currency exchange offices, Internet cafes. Those who wish to visit large shopping and entertainment complexes can go to Pattaya and even book a sightseeing tour to Bangkok.

Most reviews of Jomtien are positive, tourists in particular believe that this is one of the best areas in Pattaya for.

Infrastructure

Jomtien stretches for several kilometers along the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. In its central and southern parts there is a road about 50-70 m from the sea. The traffic there is not very busy, there is no constant flow of cars. In the northern part, which includes, only a pedestrian street runs parallel to the sea.

Immediately behind the beach area are hotels, bars, restaurants, massage parlors and travel agencies. Perpendicular to the coast, small lanes leave, some of them stretching to the Sukhumvit highway. In fact, the entire infrastructure in Jomtien is located 100-200 meters from the sea. Then deserted fields begin, which have not yet been built up with anything, only in some places there are lonely skyscrapers. Only in some sections, hotels and restaurants go all the way to Sukhumvit. And this is very different from and, where the apple has nowhere to fall and there are practically no green corners left.

Jomtien is a pretty quiet place. Music does not thunder here, shows and other major events are not arranged in the evenings. In some areas (especially closer to the south) after sunset, there are very few people on the street at all.

There are no large markets, shops and shopping malls, large discos and Go Go bars with girls on Jomtien. Everything else is present in the town: a large selection of hotels and inexpensive guesthouses, restaurants with cuisines from all over the world, bars (where you can find a secret for the night), travel agencies (organizing transfers to the most interesting places in Thailand), massage parlors (where it is possible as usual massage, and special - for men). Jomtien has Internet cafes, ATMs, motorbike rentals, shops with souvenirs, clothes, shoes and beach accessories.

If you want to “light it up like an adult”, then just sit on and in 10-15 minutes you will find yourself in the center of nightlife, among numerous shops, discos and bars with girls on.

In a word, if you want a relaxing beach holiday in Pattaya, then your choice is the Jomtien area.

Attractions and entertainment

Not far from Jomtien are such as:

  • "bungee",
  • paintball.

As for shopping, several hypermarkets are located at the intersection of Tepprazit and Sukhumvit - Tesco Lotus,. Not far from them - and Metro. There you can buy cheap clothes, shoes, groceries, souvenirs and much more. Prices are for Thais, therefore lower than in shopping centers in Central Pattaya. For example, Home Works has the cheapest prices for latex products, especially when compared with the so-called factories, where groups of package tourists are brought.

Beach and sea

Many have probably heard that the resort of Pattaya is a bad choice if you are interested in the sea. With the exception of muddy water and some household garbage, in general, there is nothing really that bad. At the same time, if you combine lying on the beach with excursions and trips to, in particular, the most popular and affordable -, then you will not experience any discomfort on vacation.

How to get to Jomtien

Central Pattaya

There are public songteos between Central Pattaya and Jomtien for 10 baht. In Central Pattaya, their stop is a minute's walk from, at the intersection of Second and South Streets. First they walk along Tappraya Street. After crossing with Tepprazit Street, turn right and in a minute leave for the coast of Jomtien. Then they move parallel to the sea for several kilometers, disembarking and picking up passengers. Then they turn around and drive in the opposite direction.

If you want to get from Jomtien to central Pattaya or Naklua, then catch songteo anywhere along the road that goes near the coast. Just keep in mind that 10 baht is the price before the intersection of Second and South Streets, then you will have to pay 20 baht (if you need, for example, up to). If you want to get to Naklua, then you need to get off at the intersection of Second and Northern streets (most likely the driver will drop you off himself, saying that it is the final one). Next, transfer to songteos, which stand at the beginning of Naklua Street.

Suvarnabhumi airport

1. Bus.

You can get to Jomtien directly from Suvarnabhumi airport, where all international flights arrive. Direct means no transfers in Central Pattaya. The airport has a bus to Jomtien, which arrives at, almost at the intersection of Thepprasit Road and Thappraya Road. The ticket costs 134 baht and is the lowest price you can get here.

Tapraya Bus Station is less than a kilometer from the coast. This distance can be covered on foot or caught passing for 10 baht. If you stand with your back to the bus stop, then you need those that go to the left (in Thailand, left-hand traffic). If this is your first time, then you can use a minivan, which are at the bus stop. They can take you straight to your hotel door. The price is negotiable and depends on the distance. On average 100-150 baht.

If the nearest bus from Suvarnabhumi does not go to Tapraya Bas Station, but to, then you can ride it. There are songteos at the bus station that take people to the Jomtien area at a fixed price of 30 baht. But there you have to wait until there are 10 people. This price is written on the electronic scoreboard, so you don’t have to ask the driver about it. Otherwise, he will understand that you are new to these parts and can break a decent price. Just get into the songteo and give 30 baht when you exit (it’s better to have it without change, otherwise impudent people come across and may not give it back). If you have never been to Jomtien, then ask in the cabin when you should leave. However, even without this, it is very easy to navigate: you will drive through the city for about 15 minutes, and as soon as you leave the coast, this will be the place you are interested in.

2. Taxi.

At the airport, you can take a taxi in the arrivals area either.

Hotels in Jomtien

All hotels in Jomtien are urban-type, more often they are multi-storey skyscrapers with hundreds of rooms. There are no stand-alone bungalows near the coast. It must be borne in mind that they are all located across the road from the sea, that is, not on the 1st line. If this is important to you, then it is better to stay on the next one or on where the hotels have direct access to the beach.

Since the beach is many kilometers long, there is more than enough housing here. If you are a budget traveler, you can stay in cheap guesthouses. Prices in them start from 400 baht, but keep in mind that they are all located 5-10 minutes from the sea and almost always in party places - surrounded by massage parlors and bars, from which midnight music sounds. So stopping there, you can fully feel the phrase "peace we only dream of." By the way, many of them cannot be booked in advance, but only upon arrival (they are simply not presented on the Internet). During the high season, most of the cheap places are occupied, as Western pensioners and single men like to settle in them to be closer to adult entertainment.

One of the best places to spend an incendiary and inexpensive vacation with friends in Pattaya is the small hotel Welcome Jomtien Beach Place 3 *. It is located just 300 meters from the magnificent Jomtien Beach, which is famous for its snow-white, clean sand and turquoise, transparent waters of the Andaman Sea. The hotel will delight you with cozy rooms with Wi Fi. The rooms do not have balconies, but the view from the windows compensates for this inconvenience. The hotel's restaurant invites you to spend the evening at a dinner of savory Thai dishes. At the bar you can refresh yourself with a tonic drink or an original cocktail in a relaxing atmosphere. Near the hotel there are many shops with local products, the prices of which will pleasantly surprise shoppers. The resort is famous for its nightclubs, with their bright parties, in the dizzying atmosphere of which you can immerse yourself after sunset. On the beach, you can actively engage in snorkeling or deep-sea fishing, ride a boat, sail boat, or just sunbathe, sitting on a sun lounger.

The beach line of Jomtien Beach stretches for more than 3 km along Jomtiensainueng street. The coastal strip here is covered with clean fine sand and has a width of 15-30 m. It is perfectly shaded by palm trees and other trees growing along the sidewalks, under whose crowns it is pleasant to be on a hot day. Compared to the beaches of central Pattaya, holidays in Jomtien are considered more calm and quiet. Mostly expats and Thais live in this area of the city, so the nightlife here is not as vibrant as in the city center.

To the north of Jomtien Beach is the Dongtan gay beach, and even to the north is the beach near the Pattaya Park Hotel, which is mostly visited by tourists from Russia. South of Jomtien Beach, past the intersection with Chaiyaphruek Street, the beach strip continues along Na Jomtien, which is distinguished by even more secluded places for a beach holiday. At the beginning of it, there are two places where in the morning Pattaya fishermen sell freshly caught fish and seafood, and seafood lovers come here specifically to shop.

The security of vacationers on Jomtien Beach and residents of the area adjacent to it is provided by the police. Police stations are located at the beginning of the beach - near Tappraya Street and at its end - at the intersection with Chaiyaphruek Street. Although cases of theft are very rare on Jomtien, it is better not to bring expensive items and valuable jewelry to the beach.

On weekends, and especially on Sundays, Pattaya residents with families like to come to Jomtien for recreation. They park motorbikes and cars along the street and spend several hours by the sea. These days the beach is quite crowded and parking is not easy to find.

Thais love to have picnics on Jomtien, sitting on mats right on the sidewalks, or under umbrellas on beach chairs. Traditional Thai recreation is different from our usual noisy pastime. The inhabitants of the kingdom, even if they drink, as a rule, never make noise, do not turn on loud music and try not to disturb those who are resting nearby.

In 2016, the Jomtien embankment was overhauled - the sidewalks were somewhat expanded and laid out with neat tiles, as well as places for flower beds. For prams and wheelchair users, special ramps have been equipped so that you can comfortably go down to the shore. The refurbished Jomtien Beach looks even more inviting, and Pattaya holidaymakers love sunbathing, swimming, beautiful sunset hours and water sports here.

Features of beach holidays and resort infrastructure

Almost along its entire length, Jomtien Beach is divided into zones equipped for a beach holiday. Each of these areas, as a rule, is served by a Thai family who rents this part of the beach. Staying in any place you like, you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas and sunbathe for as long as you want. The cost of sunbeds is 30-100 THB.

It is possible to rent beach chairs on any day of the week, except Wednesday. This day is declared sanitary in Pattaya, and the beaches of the resort are not serviced. If you don’t want to pay for sunbeds, you can sunbathe on Jomtien on your own, sitting on a beach mat and a towel in any convenient place, away from the equipped parts of the beach. No one will interfere with such a rest.

Thais - "owners" of equipped places on the beach are happy to sell drinking and soda water, beer, snacks and cookies to tourists. As a rule, they can also order hot and cold coffee and tea, pastries, as well as freshly prepared Thai dishes. However, keep in mind that the prices for all food and drinks will be a third higher than store prices.

To save money, some tourists bring food and drink with them or purchase everything they need in the 24-hour 7-11 and Family Mart chain stores that are open along Jomtien Beach every 300-500 m In addition, street food vendors constantly walk along the beach selling fruits, ice cream, cooked fish and shrimp. And in the middle of the beach street, a large market opens in the evenings, where they sell fresh fruits, sweets, kebabs, boiled corn and a variety of Thai dishes.

Behind the street that limits the beach from the urban development of the Jomtien area, several cafes, bars and restaurants operate from morning to evening, where tourists can taste dishes of European and Thai cuisine for quite affordable prices. In the same restaurants and cafes, if necessary, you can use the toilets. Separate toilets (10 THB) and showers (20 THB) are located at several places along the Jomtiensainueng beach street, and they are clearly visible from the signs.

In addition, several massage parlors, souvenir shops, pharmacies, shops selling beach accessories and toys, bank branches, currency exchange offices and ATMs are open on the street along Jomtien Beach. In several places, tourists can purchase excursions to the sights of Pattaya and the surrounding area of this Thai resort. From Soi 5 there are regular minivans to Bangkok that go to Victory Monument Square. And not far from the minivan stop there is a post office where you can send parcels.

Jomtien Beach is cleaned daily, freeing it from natural and household waste, so the coast is quite clean. Sea water in Jomtien is also far from the dirtiest in the city, and many tourists find the sea in this area of the city pleasant for swimming. However, the quality of sea water still leaves much to be desired. A large, sprawling tourist metropolis is heavily polluting the coastal waters of the resort of Pattaya. And only in the winter months, the water quality improves somewhat due to seasonal currents.

When is the best time to swim

Swimming areas are fenced with colored buoys. Boats and scooters cannot sail beyond these boundaries.

The sandy strip of the beach is constantly washed away by sea waves, and during the rainy season - by streams of water from heavy tropical downpours, so it is poured and leveled every year. The entrance to the water along the entire Jomtien beach is very gentle. The depth is shallow everywhere, and the bottom, like the shore, is sandy, and it is very comfortable for swimming. During low tides, the sea moves away from the coastline by several tens of meters.

Year-round water in the Gulf of Thailand is warm, and it never happens that its temperature drops below +25ºС. The possibility of comfortable swimming in the warm sea throughout the year attracts many tourists from different countries, especially families with children, to Thai resorts.

During the high tourist season, from mid-November to March, storms at sea are a rarity. Waves, as a rule, rise only during the monsoon period and during thunderstorms. And this happens in the summer and in the first half of autumn. But in the Pattaya area, waves are rarely large enough to make it impossible to swim.

Swimming near Jomtien Beach is safe. There are never sharks here, and there are no prickly sea urchins at the bottom. And only in the middle of summer there can be 1-2 weeks, when a lot of jellyfish accumulate near the coast, from contact with which you can get burns. By the way, if this happens, it is best to ask for first aid from the Thais working on the beach. They, as a rule, look after the things of tourists while they are swimming.
