School №201 is one of the oldest educational institutions in the region. In 1918, at the Podmoskovnaya station of the Moscow-Vindava railway, an elementary school was opened for the children of railway workers from the sidings, and then for the children of the expanded station settlement. Then her only teacher was Anna Ivanovna Shestova. In the 1920s, the school received new premises in the former merchant Kunin's house- a small two-story building with intricate carved platbands.

In 1924 he headed the school Ivan Dmitrievich Ustyuzhanin. The new head was an experienced teacher, an excellent teacher of Russian language and literature. Since 1928, the school came under the jurisdiction of the People's Commissariat of Education and became the city's secondary school No. 10 of the Oktyabrsky district. For five years, during which Ivan Dmitrievich was in charge of the school, the number of students exceeded a thousand. This was due to the rapid development and settlement of the area. Classes at the school were in three shifts. It was obvious that a new, larger building was needed.

At this difficult time, in January 1930, one of the most experienced enthusiasts of public education was appointed director of her large team. Nikolay Vasilievich Kirikov. Nikolai Vasilievich led the school for 30 years. He was an encyclopedically educated person, a talented organizer and teacher by vocation. The school became the life work of Nikolai Vasilyevich. For his contribution to the development of education, he was awarded the title of Honored School Teacher of the RSFSR and the Ushinsky Medal. On his initiative and with his direct participation, a new wooden school was built in 1933, and soon a brick three-story school was laid down and in 1935 built.

Two years later (in 1937) the school received No. 201.
