If you stopped on the left bank of the Neva (where Nevsky Prospekt, the Admiralty and the Moscow railway station), then there are no problems - after the bridges are drawn, you can always get to the hotel on foot or by taxi.

The best places are considered the Neva embankment near the Winter Palace and next to the Admiralty and the Bronze Horseman.

From the Winter Palace it will be possible to see the drawing of the Palace Bridge (begins at 1-25, but sometimes is delayed) and Trinity Bridge (at 1-35).

From the Bronze Horseman- divorce of the Palace and Blagoveshchensky bridge (formerly it was called the bridge of Lieutenant Schmidt).

From these points done most of the photographs are on postcards and calendars.

But get ready that there are a lot of people here in good weather, and especially on white nights, and you will have to take a place at the granite parapet in advance (even an hour in advance). The nearest metro stations are "Admiralteyskaya" or you can walk from the station. m. "Nevsky Prospekt".

Right bank of the Neva

If you stopped on the other side of the Neva (these are Petrogradskaya side, Chernaya Rechka, Ozerki, etc.), it will be a little more difficult if you want to return home and not spend a lot of money on a taxi.

In this case one one of the best options is to watch the bridges on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. From here one of the most beautiful views opens - to the Palace Bridge (divorced at 1-25) and St. Isaac's Cathedral. In the distance, you can also see the Trinity Bridge (brought up at 1-35). The only problem is that you will have about 20 minutes to admire if you do not want to stay on Vasilyevsky Island until the morning. The reason is that the Birzhevoy Bridge, which connects Vasilyevsky Island and the "mainland", is divorced at 2 am and you need to have time to return along it to the Petrograd side.

Sometimes tourists wait drawing bridges at the floating restaurant "Flying Dutchman" on Mytninskaya Embankment. This is not the best option, since the Palace Bridge is not very clearly visible from here, and the Birzhevaya Bridge is not always bred and it is less imposing than the Palace Bridge. So it's worth taking a chance and going to the spit of Vasilyevsky Island. And then return to the "Flying Dutchman" and see the Birzhevoy's divorce, if it happens. In any case, you no longer risk anything.

If you are late go along the Birzhevoy Bridge, you will have to walk along Vasilyevsky Island until the Palace Bridge is brought down. It happens at 2-50 (sometimes much earlier). You will have 20 minutes to cross the bridge to the Winter Palace.

How to get to Strelka Vasilyevsky island. We can recommend taking one of the last metro trains to the station “Sportivnaya” - from there it is about 1 km to Strelka.

More interesting option especially since you will have time to spare - to get to the station. m. "Gorkovskaya", see mini-Petersburg (you need to walk 200 m towards the Music Hall), and then go through the garden to the Peter and Paul Fortress and along the island go to the Stock Exchange building on the Spit of Vasilyevsky Island. This route is about 2 km, but it passes through very beautiful places and at night you will most likely not be alone.

Another option- watch the Trinity Bridge. To do this, you need to get to the Gorkovskaya metro station and go through the garden to the bridge and the Peter and Paul Fortress (about 400 m). The advantage is that you can watch the divorce from a very close distance, you will not need to rush anywhere. It is also interesting that only one span of the bridge is raised. From here, the Palace Bridge will be visible in the distance.

Vasilyevsky Island

If you booked a hotel on Vasilyevsky Island, then you can watch the bridges from the Strelka (Dvortsovy is clearly visible, and Troitsky is clearly visible in the distance) or from the embankment near the Kunstkamera (Dvortsovy and Blagoveshchensky are clearly visible). Both options are good.

It is not possible to get to other areas from Vasilyevsky Island during the bridges. Boats are strictly prohibited from carrying passengers from shore to shore.

Useful information for tourists

If the weather is good and you are going to walk all night, then you can see the second draw of the Palace and Blagoveshchensky bridges - at 3-10. But a second divorce does not always happen.

Very nicely bred and Bolsheokhtinsky bridge (at 2-00). If you live somewhere nearby, you can see its wiring.

Sometimes it is recommended to watch bridges are raised from the Peter and Paul Fortress, but the entrance to Zayachy Island, where it is located, closes at 22:00. So this option is only suitable for those rare cases when the bridges are raised during the day.

If you stayed not on your side, you can take a taxi and get to the right place through the Vantovy (aka Bolshoi Obukhovsky) bridge, however, this method will be quite expensive if you are going, for example, to the Black River or Ozerki.
