How to get an international driving license?

What documents are needed

Nothing unusual - a standard set of pieces of paper.

Russian driving license

Ordinary national driving license, new or old. See the remaining validity period, if less than a year is left, then it is better to change them too. Otherwise, the IDP will also be valid for less than a year.

Document confirming permanent or temporary registration

Passport and, if temporary registration, then a certificate.

Abroad passport

Nowhere was it written that he was needed, but the traffic police officer asked him. So take it just in case.

One photo is required. Photo requirements are:

Receipt for payment of state duty

Driver's license application

The application form is issued to the traffic police for filling.

The application that I found on the Internet and filled out at home was not required. The traffic police officer filled it out on his own. Then, when I was invited to pick up the certificate, I put my signature on it.

That's the whole standard set of documents that you need. A medical certificate is not required upon receipt of an IDP. It is required only when replacing national rights at the expiration of their validity.

Replacing an International Driving Permit
