In Brest, visit the Exaltation of the Cross Church, in Vitebsk - the Church of the Annunciation, in Gomel - the beautiful palace of the Rumyantsevs.

If you go to Mogilev, be sure to visit the Cathedral of the Three Hierarchs, the regional drama theater. Bus tours around Minsk and Khatyn are very attractive at prices - only $10-15. Excursion tours to nature reserves and monuments are also popular. You can book a good tour for the New Year holidays.

Winter fishing

Frosts are not an obstacle to go on the ice, such little things do not frighten avid fishermen. The catch in winter can be even more than summer. There are many lakes in Belarus. There are 2,500 lakes in the Belarusian Poozerie alone, most of which are famous as fishing spots.

For fishing in winter, you need to pay special attention to equipment. To make winter fishing and, accordingly, your vacation a success, follow these tips:

  • Clothing should be warm and waterproof;
  • It is advisable to have thermal underwear;
  • Take a few pairs of wool socks with you;
  • Pay special attention to warm shoes;
  • Grab a winter tent.

Don't forget to grab a thermos of hot tea or coffee. Some fishermen bring strong drinks with them.

Ski resorts

Belarus in winter is a real find for connoisseurs of outdoor activities. The resorts most beloved by tourists are located in the capital area, there is everything for snowboarding, skiing and luge. It offers European service, developed infrastructure, good transport links with Minsk even by European standards.

Sanatoriums in winter

If the purpose of the trip on vacation is rest and recovery, choose one of the medical and recreational institutions when visiting Belarus. The most famous sanatoriums of the country are Belorusochka, Yunost, Energetik. You can be treated in a sanatorium and at the same time live in a comfortable cottage, see the sights of Belarus, get acquainted with the culture and history of a wonderful country.

Winter trekking

Trekking is a newfangled activity for children, the elderly and curious youth. For them, in Belarus, recreation centers are provided with interesting comprehensive programs, including hiking.

Trekking is especially popular during the New Year festivities and winter holidays. The price of accommodation at the recreation center is only $ 30 per guest. The amount includes meals and accommodation.

As you can see, there are many places in Belarus that you want to visit and events that you want to participate in. Winter trips to White Rus' will be remembered for a long time, and you will definitely want to return. Yes, we ask!

If suddenly the vacation fell into the winter, and there is no way to travel far abroad, then our next selection is for you. In it, we will tell you how to make winter holidays in Belarus not boring. One of the ideas can become a “chip” of your vacation, and choosing several options at once will make it clear that it is possible to have an original and varied holiday in winter even in our latitudes.

Husky rides

This service is only three months a year, but is available in Belarus. In the Expedition picnic hotel, two northern beauties are harnessed to the sled - and for exactly one hour they are at the disposal of guests who have purchased a special certificate. During this time, the Huskies make 10 circles of 500 meters. You will feel the adrenaline, speed and a lot of emotions, making your way through the snowdrifts and cutting through the snowy expanses. The certificate can be used by a company of up to 10 people, but then the husky riding time will have to be divided among everyone. The price also includes two hours of walking around the territory of the picnic hotel, where, in addition to riding Siberian dogs, there are many more interesting things.

Ice skating on ponds

Ice palaces and skating rinks are, of course, good. But nothing compares to skating on the ice of natural waters. Those who practice such recreation say that the surface of natural ice is sometimes much smoother than that flooded at seasonal skating rinks. Those who live near the reservoir are especially lucky: they don’t have to go anywhere. Just get some skates, clear the ice, and maybe get a company or even a team to play hockey. But! Ice in Belarus during the winter is not always strong enough, there are special requirements for it: thickness - at least 10-12 cm, for mass skating - at least 25 cm, green or bluish-green color and others. We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with all the rules for entering the ice on OSVOD website .

Outdoor pools and Japanese baths

There are no natural hot springs in Belarus, but you can also splash in hot water at an air temperature of -15-20℃. There is a warm pool on the street in the Lebyazhy water park in the capital. You can get here directly on the water from the covered part of the water park. And for those who want higher temperatures, outdoor Japanese baths are suitable. There are few offers in Belarus, but it is easy to find. So, all the same picnic hotel "Expedition" offers a bath "Ofuro". Now you know what you can do here after husky rides. Sometimes you can stumble upon a Japanese bath in some farmstead. For example, in, in the courtyard of which there is a pool designed according to the Furako principle.

On a sled down the hill

Such a simple entertainment that adults usually forget about after school and remember only when children appear in the family. But that doesn't make it any less exciting. Slides can be found in every city, and in large cities - in every district. In Minsk, knowledgeable people especially praise the slopes in the parks of Uruchcha, Zeleny Lug, on Angarskaya Street in the Zavodskoy district. Well, about more solid slides, on which you can ride not only on a sled, read in the next section.

Ski holidays

We have no mountains, but in some places the terrain with hills and ravines and the specific winter climate made it possible to create good ski resorts. Five of them are located in the Minsk region, one more - in the Gomel region. In addition to standard skis, snowboards and tubing, they offer skating (Silichi, Raubichi, Mozyr), snowmobiling (Silichi, Yakutsk Mountains, Mozyr), the Toboggan Sleigh attraction ("Mozyr") and others. The rest of the skiing places, perhaps, are not drawn to the resorts, but the minimum set of services can be found here: the village of Ruba, Vitebsk region, Pechersky forest park in Mogilev.

Winter excursion to the swamp

Walking through the Belarusian swamps is an extreme, an excursion to the swamp in winter is a double extreme. Almost everywhere where such excursions are arranged, they will tell you that the best time is spring, summer and autumn. And they will even describe in detail what this or that season is good for. But the owners of the estate claim that the cold is not a hindrance. The estate has a large heated tent, and the hosts may well take you in the winter along one of their routes: “Through the dense Polesie” or “Through the Olman swamps”. Wandering in the cold for several days in wild and deserted places, from island to island along barely noticeable paths or old masonry - entertainment for the hardy. The first route will be 55 km and take 4 days, the second - 80 km and 6 days.

Winter kiting and winter windsurfing

A little more extreme. Kiting and windsurfing in winter are good only in windy weather. For kiting, the same equipment is suitable as for a similar summer sport, while in windsurfing, sails are attached to a ski or skate structure. Classes in Minsk are held on the ice-covered Minsk Sea by members of the Extreme windsurfing club.

Sleighs in a horse carriage, snowmobiles and other entertainment in farmsteads

A horse-drawn sleigh ride is perhaps the most authentic winter entertainment. It is possible to combine rest in the Belarusian farmstead with it. So, sleigh rides are offered, "Kupalinka",

A former Soviet republic, a small state in Eastern Europe, Belarus is located west of Russia and north of Ukraine. Read our article on the Tour Calendar where we explain why the best time to visit is from May to September.

Tourist season in Belarus

Belarus is still only developing as an attractive tourist destination, but for many it is still a little-known country that has retained its special secret after the fall of the communist regime. Today, everything here reeks of the Soviet Union, so those who are nostalgic for Soviet times come to the country first of all. At the same time, Belarus lives not only in the past. It attracts lovers of pristine nature, naturalness, endless opportunities for eco-tourism, powerful recreational potential, a serious excursion program and interesting culture. About 4.5 million foreigners visit the country every year, 30% of the total entry flow is Russian. The tourist season lasts all year round: in summer it is a forced march through national parks and museums, and in winter it is a holiday in ski resorts.

High season in Belarus

Far from many tourists include Belarus in their summer vacation plans, however, an increased demand among travelers is observed precisely at this time of the year, when the weather favors a countryside vacation in the lap of nature, or health improvement. Many tourists living near the border perceive a trip to Belarusian resorts as a trip to the country, because here you can go fishing, take a steam bath, and go picking mushrooms and berries. It should be noted that prices in the summer season are somewhat overpriced: some resorts and hotels set a price tag 1.5-2 times higher than the standard rates in the off-season. This is one of the main reasons for the suspension of the growth of the tourist flow to the country. Cheap, according to the rooted tourist legend about Belarus, rest can only be in institutions inherited from the Soviet Union. Newly built boarding houses and recreation centers have almost the same cost level as Russian ones. But if you want to save a little, there is a way out - take advantage of the early booking option for tours, available since March. As a rule, this guarantees a 10%-30% discount. Also keep in mind that August rates are 10%-25% higher than June rates.

Low season in Belarus

In winter, prices for trips to Belarus, as well as train and plane tickets, are reduced, but despite this, hotels remain only 50% occupied. Those who still choose to go on vacation prefer ski resorts and health centers. The largest concentration of Russians is observed at this time in the Gomel, Mogilev and Minsk regions, located near the border with Russia.

The best time for excursions

What is in Belarus is a rhetorical question. There is everything here and in large quantities: national parks (for example, the well-known Belovezhskaya Pushcha) with crystal mirrors of lakes and birch groves, historical and cultural reserves, memorial complexes, authentic palace and park estates, ancient churches, numerous museums and much more . The choice of excursion programs is actually great, so at first you can even get confused. Some trips are designed for the whole day - with an early departure and a late return to the hotel, and the prevailing weather at this time can easily disrupt all plans. Moreover, the difference between daytime and evening temperatures is quite significant. The most favorable period for getting acquainted with the natural, cultural and historical heritage of the country is late spring, summer and the first two weeks of September. At the same time, even at the agreed time after sunset, the air quickly cools down and it becomes cold. For these reasons, we recommend taking a warm jacket or sweater on the road.

Ski season in Belarus

A few years ago, Belarus could not even think of ski centers. Today it has several ski resorts at once, the equipment and level of service on which is about to meet Western European standards. "Little Switzerland" - this is how this country is now called for its healing climate, picturesque landscapes, clean air, and even today - for a tribute to the tradition of winter holidays in the snow. Unfortunately, there are no mountain ranges in the country, however, this did not prevent her from equipping modern ski resorts on the existing hills and slopes. The skiing season opens at the beginning - in the middle of December and lasts until the end of March. Ideal coverage on the slopes is maintained with the help of an artificial snow system. At this time, the average daily air temperature is about -5..-7 °С. The largest influx of tourists is observed on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays, and, accordingly, prices increase slightly during this period.

Wellness season

The unique microclimate, good ecology, rich natural and recreational resources (such as silt, saprole mud, several types of mineral waters, etc.) have become good "soil" for the development of sanatorium and resort business in Belarus. About 70% of the foreign inflow into the country rushes to sanatoriums, the other 20% are placed in recreation centers and health centers. All of them are located outside the city, on the shores of lakes surrounded by dense forests. People come here with diseases of the digestive system, diseases of the respiratory system, disorders of the peripheral nervous system, metabolic disorders and many other indications. First of all, vouchers to "promoted" health resorts are bought up. The peak of the season falls on the summer months - the time of school holidays and holidays. At this time, in addition to Russians and Ukrainians, many Poles, Balts and Germans rest and are treated here. Such an expansion of the resort contingent testifies to the high quality of the services provided and adequate prices. It is best to come for health improvement from the second half of spring to early autumn, but in July and August there are always a lot of people. On this occasion, a little advice: it is best to book kursovki 3-4 months before the desired date of arrival.

Time for holidays and festivals

Belarusian culture is very distinctive and interesting. Due to the special geopolitical position of the country, several nationalities influenced the formation of its culture at one time. Today, the country's holiday calendar includes many memorable dates and events celebrated in Russia, but at the same time it is not without its own national celebrations. Climate in Belarus

Due to the fact that most of the territory of Belarus has a flat landscape, a temperate continental type of climate has formed here, or, to be more precise, a transitional one from maritime to continental. The strong influence of air masses from the Atlantic predetermined an increased level of humidity and an almost uniform distribution of precipitation throughout the year. The spread of average daily seasonal temperatures is small - from -5 °С in winter to +23 °С in summer.

Belarus in spring

As a rule, spring is never in a hurry to come into its own. Even in the south, snow lies until mid-March, and in the north it lingers until mid-April. Starting from this time, heat returns to the country, and at night there are already positive temperatures. Due to the heavy melting of snow on country roads, mudslides, some settlements are flooded due to floods on the rivers, so transport links with them are often disrupted. Real spring comes here in late April - early May, when the weather is sunny. In the fresh air, in addition to the humid suspension, delightful floral aromas begin to be captured, buds bloom near fruit trees, and local parks and squares settle in with lush greenery.

Belarus in summer

Summer in Belarus is ideal for those who cannot stand the heat and the scorching sun. During the day it is moderately warm and moderately sunny. This is a rather rainy season, with rainfall on about 13-15 days of each month, but fortunately they are short and not heavy. It is warmest in August, at this time in the capital one should expect about +22..+23 °С, these figures are much higher in Gomel - here the thermometer can jump up to +25..26 °С, it is also very warm in Brest, but the weather is more moderate. Going to the country in the summer season, however, you should be prepared for abnormal periods: in recent years, news reports have often been full of headlines about the unheard-of heat that has settled in the republic at +32..+33 °C. But it is worth remembering that no matter what the weather is during the day, the evening contrast to daytime temperatures is always impressive. At night, the thermometer drops by at least 9 ° C, and as a maximum by 12 ° C.

Belarus in autumn

In the first two weeks of September, you can go to Belarus without fear of spending your entire vacation in a hotel. Precipitation is still frequent, but during the day the thermometer rises to +17..+18 °С. But in the second half of the month, the weather already unquestioningly obeys the rhythms of nature, the cycle of which cannot be stopped. It's getting colder outside, the sun hides behind clouds almost all the time, and the trees shed their golden foliage. By October, the thermometer drops to +9..11 ° С, strong winds rise, so long walks do not bring real pleasure. The first frosts are expected at night, but there are no large negative temperatures yet. It is believed that after the Intercession (mid-October), climatic winter comes into its own. Basically, that's how it happens. In November, for the first time, the thermometer drops below 0 ° C, during the day it is very cold, rains with sleet are possible. A characteristic feature of the last month of autumn is dull fogs, as a result of which humidity and, accordingly, cold intensify.

If you are going to spend a vacation with children, you should give preference to a trip to Belarus. The time spent in this country will fly by unnoticed, but unforgettable, as every member of the family, even the smallest one, will have a lot of fun. Rest in Belarus with children is an ideal combination of price and quality of rest.

Why choose Belarus

The first thing that is most important when traveling with a baby is his health and clean air. The country has many tourist bases, near which there are no enterprises. Therefore, parents do not need to worry about the health of the child, because this trip will strengthen his immunity.

Belarus is known for its mild climate, incredible and mesmerizing landscapes. During a tour of its environs, you can meet many reservoirs and endless forests. Regardless of the chosen point for recreation, you can enjoy the natural wealth.

And finally, excursions. No trip to another country can be successful without getting acquainted with the local culture and historical values. This will not only enrich your worldview, but expand the horizons of children.

Where is the best place to stay

Belarusian sanatorium

Today, sanatoriums with specially equipped buildings for children with their parents are widespread in Belarus. It is worth noting that such sanatoriums are divided according to medical profiles depending on the disease of the baby. For example, if he has problems with the musculoskeletal system or the skin. For each, a number of procedures recommended by the attending physician are selected.

You can also rent a hotel room, rent a private house, cottage or manor. There you can easily accommodate the whole family. As a rule, this kind of apartments are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. For parents with children under three years old, the kitchen is the first thing you need. It is important to clarify in advance whether baby care products, a crib and a high chair will be provided. Additionally, you can consider babysitting services.

With more independent children, you can stay at one of the tourist bases. This option is ideal for those who do not like sedate walks around the area. They want to have a dynamic time and get a lot of impressions. Especially for such families, Belarus offers various options: entertainment on the water, visits to gyms and themed events, excursions on horseback and much more.

Advantages and disadvantages of private estates

Farmstead

Choosing a homestead as a temporary place to live, you can get the perfect home at your disposal. It will not have any rules and conventions. For example, a forced rise to breakfast. The menu for every day can be chosen independently, which guarantees the quality of food and saves money.

As such, there are no disadvantages in vacationing with children in a private house, but the cost of such pleasure is no less than staying elsewhere, while the number of privileges is approximately equal. Guests are offered for use: a bathhouse, a swimming pool, a parking space, an individual exit to a pond, an alley, and more.

The price will also depend on the size of the apartment. On average, a cottage can comfortably accommodate from 10 to 20 people. Rent per day is approximately 100-200 euros, thus, it turns out 5-10 euros from each guest. The price depends on the level of comfort of the estate and location. Not planning to invite guests to your place, you should stay at a small estate or cottage. And the money saved is better spent on additional excursions and entertainment.

Rest on the lakes

The real treasure of the country are its lakes, which arose several centuries ago. Among the most popular are the Braslav and Sorochansky lakes, as well as Lake Naroch. Braslav lakes are a complex of 50 reservoirs, including: Drivyaty, Nedrovo, Potsekh, Tsno, Strusto, Nespish, Voiso and Boloyso.

Braslav lakes

This area has a developed infrastructure and counts many private houses, camp sites, children's camps and sanatoriums, marinas for boats with yachts. Tourists are especially delighted with the local competitions of sailing regattas. The Braslav complex also attracts fishermen. More than 30 species of fish are found in the lakes, among which pike perch, eel, pike and burbot are in demand.

Lake Tumskoe

Lovers of well-groomed nature, fascinating panoramas, long-term forests and steep canyons will love the Sorochansky Lakes. Due to their healing climate, they are recommended for visiting with children. There are 5 most beautiful lakes of this complex: Tumskoye, Kaymenskoye, Sparrows, Gubeza and Yodi. It should be noted that the water transparency of the last two lakes can reach 4 meters. Motor boating is strictly prohibited.

Lake Naroch

On the shore of Lake Naroch there is a village of the same name, built up with boarding houses, sanatoriums, each of which has a separate beach, and other holiday homes. You can rent a boat, boat or catamaran. Next to the lake is the famous Blue Lakes complex.

What to visit with kids

Belarus is considered a great place to relax with a child, regardless of his age category. You can go to a ski resort or spend your holidays in a peaceful environment in a house by the pond. Kids will be delighted with a trip to where they can receive gifts from the real Santa Claus. Among the additional entertainment: horseback riding, various contests and programs with animators, snowball fights, ice slides and more. Impressions will remain for a long time.

Pripyatsky National Park

It is no less interesting for children to visit national parks of the country, such as: "Braslav Lakes", "Narochansky" and "Pripyatsky". It is also recommended to visit the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve. Protected areas are distinguished by their pristine beauty, creating a special atmosphere. A walk in the park will benefit the whole family. Children will be able to learn more unique facts about wildlife and enjoy the variety of landscapes together with their parents.
