A few years ago, she had a dispute with the FAS and the FTS about the amount of tariffs for the purchase of electricity. As a result, a company with a rather modest turnover, supplying energy to several small towns, suffered losses. Her lawyers went to court in 2012 and over the course of three years won all arbitration proceedings. According to the decisions, the energy companies were to be compensated for financial losses in the amount of more than 220 million rubles, and the FAS acted as a defendant in court. According to some reports, the power industry was more interested not even in the return of the amount, although this was important, but rather in the recognition of the illegality of previously issued tariff orders. In the summer of this year, a certain intermediary approached the power engineers, advising them to talk to the Moscow singer Arey Balevsky. The 41-year-old showman, who performs both dance compositions and jazz, calls himself the owner of a "unique altino tenor." He does not disclose his biography, but, according to some sources, he is a native of one of the Caucasian republics of the former USSR, and back in the 1990s, after arriving in the capital and obtaining citizenship, he changed his former name and surname to a sonorous pseudonym. He is not very well known to the general public, although he often performs abroad. He is also the general director of Cheer up LLC, which owns an art club on Bolshaya Yakimanka.

Mr. Balevsky allegedly told power engineers that he has extensive connections both in law enforcement agencies and in the FAS and is ready to help solve their problem. At first, he asked for a little more than $1 million, but then increased the amount to $1.8 million. Their singer demanded to transfer it to him in two tranches. The first meeting took place on Thursday evening in the premises of one of the commercial banks. Operatives of the FSB and UEBiPK of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained Arei Balevsky after he received a package with money, which contained only a few hundred real dollars, and the rest was a paper "doll".

The solver singer, along with his 22-year-old friend, a police trainee with whom he spent a lot of time and traveled abroad, were taken to the nearest police station. The singer himself, who calls himself a "clairvoyant pagan", said that he did not do anything illegal, but only advised entrepreneurs, since in addition to his musical education, he also has a number of diplomas in other specialties. About whether he really has connections in the FAS, the solver, according to some reports, spoke very chaotically, then completely denying these facts, then unexpectedly confessing. Now this information is being verified, and the criminal case against Mr. Balevsky has been initiated for especially large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The Federal Antimonopoly Service told Kommersant that the department did not know anything about the detention of the solver, redirecting all questions to the investigators.

Meanwhile, in the course of the investigation, an assessment will be made of the connections of the singer with an extremely ambiguous reputation with the security forces. The policeman who came with him to the meeting is involved in the case as a witness, but he will most likely be fired from the internal affairs bodies.
