Las Vegas street. Walk along Fremont Street. Ferris wheel High Roller

The most important place in Sin City is the street L as- B e g a s S tr i n (Las Vegas Strip) . The most expensive and famous hotels are located on it, all significant events are held here from a Britney Spears concert to political debates with Hillary Clinton. So:

We took a room in a quiet little hotel at the end of the Strip, which is a rarity for this street. Rest here is expensive, after all, in Las Vegas the price is geared towards tourists. However, there is a lot to enjoy on the Strip for free. Entrance to all hotels is free, free and mandatory. Most of the buildings are real works of art. For us, the most interesting were the following hotels:

Mirage Hotel (The Mirage Hotel & Casino

A feature of the Mirage Hotel is the evening show of the volcano. An amazing performance that mimics a real eruption. You can watch both from the side of the Strip and from the hotel terrace (if you stand in the front row, it even gets hot from the fire). It takes place every evening at 19.00 and 20.00, lasts 15 minutes.

Hotel "Venice" (The Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino 5*)

The most luxurious and most interesting (this is our opinion) hotel on the Strip, and indeed in all of Las Vegas. Hotel "Venice" is really Venice in miniature. Both outside and inside it is riddled with water channels, through which you can ride on real gondolas, and gondoliers will sing Italian operas for you.
In the main hall, the ceiling is painted under the real sky, which creates a complete feeling of walking in Venice.
In other parts of the hotel, the ceilings are painted with Italian frescoes. The hotel territory is a copy of St. Mark's Square, there is also a campanile (bell tower) and the Rialto Bridge. The Venice Hotel is a must-see place in Las Vegas.

Bellagio Hotel ( Bellagio Hotel & Casino 5*)

The fountains of the Bellagio Hotel are already so popular and famous that there is nothing to add. Fountains dance every half an hour, on weekdays they start working from 15.00 to midnight, and on weekends from 12.00 to 00.00. It is best to watch in the evening, when the dance is also complemented by lighting. The music is different, both modern and classical (I was delighted when the fountains danced to Andre Bacelli— Time To Say Goodbye. We recommend watching the video with the dancing fountains of the Bellagio Hotel.

Hotel "Paris" (Paris Las Vegas 4*)

The hotel has its own Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. On the first level of the tower is a restaurant, an expensive French restaurant. We visited it during the day, as there is a lunch menu, which brings the prices a little closer to the earth. One cocktail cost 18 dollars, for the whole lunch (2 cocktails and 2 hot drinks) they gave 90 dollars. But do not forget that all of America works for tips, another plus for the price. The restaurant has a beautiful panorama of the Las Vegas Strip and the Bellagio fountains, the music is not heard, but the view is beautiful.

New York New York Hotel ( New YorkNew York Hotel & Casino 4*)

If "Paris" has its own symbols of the city, then it's easy to guess that "New York" has its own copies of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.
You can ride a rollercoaster around the hotel, although it is unlikely that you will be able to enjoy the views of the Strip at this moment. One ticket costs 14 dollars, "reride" 8 dollars, if you immediately go to the second round. For big fans of the slide, there is a one-day subscription for $ 25 with an unlimited number of rides.

Hotel Stratosphere in Las Vegas, Casino and Tower

At the very end of the Las Vegas Strip is the Stratosphere Hotel, Casino and Tower. At the very top of the tower there is a revolving restaurant with a gorgeous panorama of the city from a height of about 250 meters, you need to book a table for the evening in advance, otherwise the chances of getting a table by the window on a revolving platform are minimal. There is a bar on the second level of the restaurant. It will not be difficult to get into it, you do not need to book anything.
Plus the bar has a Happy Hour, nice. Another highlight of this restaurant and bar is that while you are enjoying dinner or a cocktail, a screaming body on a cable can fly past you outside the window, and sometimes more than one body. On the roof of the Stratosphere there are attractions, and far from being for children. Those who like to tickle their nerves and restaurant visitors are welcome here. In addition to the bungee from a height of 280 meters, there are also observation carousels (the height is the same), and simply observation platforms. Hotel Stratosfera is a great place to relax and have fun.

What else is there to do in Las Vegas?

Walking along the Las Vegas Strip with Fat Tuesdays in hand.
You can order both non-alcoholic and low-alcohol options, just try it. The first time you have to buy a glass, choose the volume you need, and then at any point that are scattered throughout the Strip, give your glass and pay only for filling it. Frozen "Margarita" or "Daiquiri" not only quench your thirst, but also have fun, keep in mind.

Ferris wheel High Roller

Not far from the Las Vegas Strip, behind The LINQ Hotel & Casino is the world's tallest Ferris wheel. high roller. Wheel height 165 meters. The capacity of each cabin is up to 40 people. Ticket price in the daytime - $ 25, in the evening / night - $ 35. To be honest, we were going to it, but after visiting the Stratosphere bar, where the panorama is at an altitude of 250 meters, where you can comfortably sit at a cocktail table or order dinner in a restaurant on a moving platform, the desire disappeared. And the booths are designed for such a crowd. We do not regret.

Fremont Street

Apart from Las Vegas Strip you can still go to Fremont Street. One section of this street is covered with a special multimedia vault. It often hosts DJ sets and local concerts.
The most popular entertainment here is the cable car passing under the arch called Slotzilla Zip Line Las Vegas. You are attached to a winch (the equipment resembles mountain climbing), the lock is latched, and here you are flying in the Superman pose under the Fremont dome. The cable car consists of 2 lines. The lower line "Zipline" is 260 meters long and at a height of 23 meters, the upper line "Zoomline" is 2 times longer and at a height of 35 meters. The price for the bottom line is $20, for the top line - $40. I was upset that the Internet is full of videos where people filmed their skiing on the same GoPro (attached to the head) and the like, but in fact it is forbidden. No matter how we tried to agree, they didn’t give the go-ahead, safety precautions, it’s forbidden and that’s it. We got offended and drove back to the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas Strip Map

Not far from a large dam and hydroelectric power station on the Colorado River, in the desert Nevada is the city of Las Vegas. The flow of tourists flowing here all year round is inexhaustible, the city is specially equipped as a center for recreation, tourism and gambling. The amazing Las Vegas exists due to the passion of a person for the game, several hundred million dollars have been invested in its creation.

The history of the city of Las Vegas began in the 19th century, when on the way to Los Angeles, a trading caravan lost its way in the middle of the Mojave Desert. People wandered for several days until they came across an oasis, which gave travelers the opportunity to rest and gain strength. The oasis was named Las Vegas, which translates from Spanish as "floodplain meadows."

The main tourist street of Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip is the heart of the city and the central street of the city, its length is approximately 7 kilometers. It is here that all the most luxurious hotels and famous casinos are located. The fantasy of the architects who created the main street is wild and boundless, here a copy of the Eiffel Tower, a huge black glass pyramid, the Sphinx and the Brooklyn Bridge coexist nearby, but despite this, all the buildings of the Strip look harmonious.

The hotel, which is a huge pyramid of black glass, is called Luxor. You can book a room in two clicks by clicking on the link to.

Address: 3900 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Luxor Hotel & Casino.

Almost everything in Las Vegas looks like a museum. You can wander through them endlessly, looking at the unimaginable interiors, especially since some of them have real museum complexes. Each major hotel on the Strip has its own peculiarity. For example, the Imperial Palace Hotel has the famous Vintage Car Museum - the largest exhibition hall on the planet, where more than 250 vintage car models are exhibited as exhibits.

Address: 3535 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Imperial Palace Hotel.

Nightlife on Las Vegas Boulevard

Caesar's Palace () is also located on the Strip - one of the most famous hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. In front of the entrance to the palace is the Arc de Triomphe, decorated with sculptures, and the building itself was built in the ancient Roman style. The casino staff is dressed appropriately to the era of ancient Rome: women wear Roman togas, and men are dressed in legionary robes. Another attraction of the Strip is the building of the Excalibur Hotel, which looks like a medieval castle from a fairy tale.

Address: 3570 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino.

Around the clock, at any time of the year, fun and celebration reign on the Las Vegas Strip, at night the street is brightly lit with many neon signs. Las Vegas remains an oasis where life is in full swing every day and around the clock.

Do you think you will like Las Vegas or not? Will it leave you indifferent or will it capture you in your whirlpool?

It is called the city of sins, the city of millions of lights, the city of debauchery and permissiveness, a paradise for players and whatever else. Las Vegas is the most fun, the most relaxed, the most sparkling in all of America. It is these images that swirl in our heads when we hear this name, which, by the way, is translated by the boring phrase “fertile valleys”. Already something, but the fertile lands in Nevada, including Vegas, do not even smell - desert expanses, sizzling summer heat, but today is not about that.

Is Las Vegas really as alluring, exciting and driving as it is portrayed in films and described by numerous eyewitnesses? What did we like and dislike with Andryusiks? This is what will be discussed.

In order to see all the most interesting things in Vegas, it is enough to walk along two streets: Fremont Street and the Strip. The first is the official center or downtown, the second is the tourist center. Ready to see everything with your own eyes? Then go ahead!

Fremont Street

Fremont Street is the oldest in Las Vegas, because it appeared in 1905 - the year the city itself was founded. Initially, it was here that the first and subsequent casinos were located, because it was allowed to build them on this one and only street. Can you imagine how popular she was? It is now that almost all the tourists have fled to the Strip, along which we will also walk, and until the nineties of the last century, the Fremont casinos were at the zenith of their glory.

So what does Fremont Street offer us today?

Pedestrian part

This entire street, which stretches for several blocks, is pedestrian, which means that you can relax, calmly walk and look around without fear of testing your insurance in action. To be honest, I expected more from this street. In fact, it turned out to be like some kind of railway station, where people scurry back and forth, beggars crowd, sell cheap souvenirs and citizens cut off from the world dance. However, there is still something interesting here!

Fremont Street Experience

Andriusiks and I made a big mistake by coming here during the day, because Vegas is a huge luminous ball that you have to look at in the dark. So the evening-night Fremont offers a breathtaking spectacle called Fremont Experience. It turned out that the dome over the western part of the street, covering almost 500 meters of its length, was not made in order to save tourists from the scorching sun. It is a system of several million displays that, at night, show the eyes of a video show, and absolutely free of charge. They show concerts, broadcast all sorts of interesting events and other entertaining events. You can watch the show from six in the evening until midnight at the beginning of each new hour.

As I mentioned, it was on Fremont Street that the first Las Vegas casino. They are here to this day. The most famous are Golden Nugget, Golden Gate and Binion's Horseshoe.

Today they are no longer so popular among tourists who prefer giant complexes on the Strip, so visitors have to be lured by all possible means. For example, starting rates on Fremont are lower than in the Strip casinos, in Fremont bars you can buy cheap alcoholic drinks (there are advertisements everywhere offering a Margarita cocktail for 99 cents), here you can find cheap hotel rooms.

Thanks to all the tricks, local casinos are far from being empty, although in some places the contingent is very peculiar.

bars

Do not go unnoticed and numerous bars located along the street. Everything is as always here - shiny bottles, pretty glasses and attractive bartenders. Somewhere boys, somewhere girls dancing behind the counter or right on it. They smile, offer drinks designed to warm up the spirit of excitement in Vegas visitors.

Souvenirs

Here, without going far, you can buy souvenirs for yourself and your loved ones. Similar souvenir shops in Las Vegas are apparently invisible. The assortment is monotonous - T-shirts with all sorts of inscriptions for three or four pieces for ten dollars, mugs, key chains, figurines, postcards and other trifles.

This is Fremont Street. Who does not know, Fremont is the name of an uncle who led an expedition that crossed the Las Vegas Valley in the middle of the nineteenth century. He later served as a senator and even ran for President of the United States. In general, he was smart and good.

Guidebooks say you can catch the spirit of old Vegas on Fremont Street. Everything can be, but no matter how hard we tried, we could not feel it. Probably, the thing is that in Vegas "all cats are gray during the day")) I'm sure everything looks much more colorful and interesting in the evening, but we went to catch the lights of Vegas on the famous Strip.

The historic center of Las Vegas is Fremont street, which has become a pedestrian alley these days. It is here that the oldest casinos and hotels of the city are located, which attract many tourists. This is the second most popular street after the Strip, and today we will go there. Any taxi driver knows the way there, but we will go to.

A bit of history: Fremont Street is located in Downtown - the old center of Las Vegas. It appeared at the very beginning of the 20th century along with the city itself. The street is named after the explorer of these lands, John Charles Freemont. For a long time, it was she who was the main one in Vegas - the first casinos opened here, which began to actively attract tourists and bring a lot of profit. At the end of the 20th century, Fremont Street became completely pedestrian, and with the advent of the Strip, whose hotels are located much closer to the airport, faded into the background.

Fremont Street symbol. This street has its own symbol - a 12-meter neon figure of a cowboy, named "Vic from Vegas" (Vegas Vic). Once upon a time, the cowboy waved his hand and shouted out a phrase every 15 minutes, and the cigarette moved in his teeth, which amused tourists, but did not like the owners of nearby hotels because of the extra noise. Now it's just a huge figure. It is not her in my photo, but you can find her yourself. Her address: 25 E Fremont Street.

Things to do on Fremont Street. The best time to walk around this area is after dark. After dark, there are even more tourists here, the music is booming, people are walking back and forth, and the bars and casinos are packed to capacity. Previously, the Strip seemed to me the noisiest and most crowded street, but it was not there! When we walked around Fremont, I got the feeling that all of Las Vegas had gathered here.

You won't have to look for a place where you can have a couple of glasses for a long time - they are found here at every turn. But we didn’t go to the bar, but instead took a little walk, simultaneously looking at the neon symbols of the old Vegas, which are quite a few here: for example, these cabaret ladies.

Another reason to come here in the evening is the free concerts of singers and various bands, for which a stage is equipped next to the 4 Queens Hotel. In addition, you can stare at street performers - mimes, magicians, artists, "living statues" and other personalities. I have collected a small collection of such photos, ! Las Vegas is not surprising yet.

But the most famous and most interesting feature of Fremont Street is Freemont Street Experience- a giant screen 460 meters long, located in the form of a canopy over the street. This project, developed by LG Electronics, is unique and one of a kind. The screen fits more than 12 million LED displays, which are controlled by 10 computers at once. Usually during the day he shows images in the style of "colored lines, butterflies-flowers-maple leaves-any advertising", and in the evenings it turns into a grandiose video show with the music of DJ Tiesto, The Doors and other performers. Another bonus is the cable car passing under the very dome of the screen. Daredevils can ride, for money.

Information:
Freemont Street Experience
Where: In the heart of Freemont Street Walkway
Show duration: less than 10 minutes
It takes place daily every hour at 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00 and 00:00, Fri-Sat at 01:00
Cost: free

Coming to Vegas, it makes sense to go to a couple of these shows. It's both free and fun. If you're interested, you'll find information about the city's most exciting free shows, and descriptions of some paid museums.

Fremont Street Casino. The very first one that once stood on Fremont - El Rancho - has not survived to this day. But here are still some of the oldest casino hotels that operate in the same way as on the Strip - 24/7:

  • Golden Nugget (Gold Nugget)- opened in the middle of the 20th century, and to this day conveys the spirit of the Gold Rush: here you can see a real gold bar behind a glass showcase. We got here during a trip to a restaurant that has an unusual interior: right in the middle of its hall there is a huge aquarium with a wide variety of marine fish. You sit at a table, and they float past one after another. In the hotel you will also find a pool with reef sharks.

  • 4 Queens (4 Queens) is a New Orleans-style casino hotel named after the owner's 4 daughters. We came here to play in the casino. The people inside are dark, and, as it seemed to me, there are even more slot machines per 1 m² than on the Strip.

  • Binion's(old name - Binion's Horseshoe, built on the site of the old casino Eldorado Club) - a hotel in the spirit of old Vegas, where world poker tournaments originated. It was discovered by a man who himself was a gambler in the middle of the 20th century. We didn't go inside.

When the eyes of the pretentious hotels of the Strip are a little blurry and you want to change the picture, it's time to go to Downtown Las Vegas, aka the old city center - Fremont Street.

The street got its name in honor of the politician John Charles Fremont, who crossed the Las Vegas Valley in the middle of the 19th century. This is where Las Vegas began in 1905. The very first casinos and other macabre establishments opened here, and inveterate cowboys raged from bar to bar. However, in the early 90s, when mass construction of modern hotels and casinos began a few kilometers to the south, the main tourist flow was transferred to the Strip. In other words, to this day, the neon figure of a cowboy is considered a symbol of this street, and, they say, if you want to feel the old spirit of Vegas, then you should definitely come here.

Now Fremont is such a pedestrian tourist street, where pavilions with different shops, cafes, casinos and bars are located in two rows, between which people walk, and Fremont Street Experience hangs over all of them - a half-kilometer electronic screen that broadcasts various video shows and advertising. Every hour the lights go out in all pavilions, and a music video starts playing on the ceiling.

The most famous casinos Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, Golden Nugget, Binion’s Horseshoe are also located here. Rates and prices are much lower than on the Strip, but the audience here is specific.

It's fun here, all sorts of incomprehensible funny people walk around dressed as Cinderellas, sexy nurses, policemen and all sorts of freaks. We, in fact, nicknamed this place as "Freak Street". Here everyone drinks, makes fun and has fun.

Just pirates, special forces and a prostitute, scroll on

And there are also cheap souvenirs and fairly affordable prices in bars and restaurants, so "tourists with $ 100" will be comfortable here. Although, to be honest, I'm always surprised when people ask me: "where can I find a cheap hotel in Las Vegas?" or “where to eat cheaply?”. It seems to me that if you are in Las Vegas, then you should give all your best in these 2-3 days and live on the Strip in a good hotel, hang out in casinos and clubs! After all, Las Vegas is one of a kind.
