The tract is located 75 km from Abakan Salbyk, bearing the name "Valley of the Kings" or "Country of Dingling", which unites dozens of "royal" and hundreds of ordinary barrows, where the leaders of the Tagar tribes are buried. The largest archaeological site here is considered Big Salbyk barrow, built in the 4th century BC. for the burial of the noble Dinlin King and members of his family. The Great Salbyk Kurgan is a stone-earth Pyramid 20 meters high. The height of the slabs of the fence of the Salbyk mound is about 8 m, the weight is up to 60 tons! According to ancient legends, this is the "road of spirits", which led the souls of the dead through a ridge of hills to sunrise in the "upper" heavenly world. Inside is a tomb with a mummy. The Dinlins, like the Egyptians, embalmed their masters. The tomb has the shape of a pyramid with a truncated top. It is built of larch, and inside is lined with a thick layer of birch bark.
From the Bolshoi Salbyk mound, two separate menhir stones are clearly visible on a low mountain range. They are known for their unusual strength. People come here to improve their health, and shamans come to draw energy strength.
Salbyk Kurgan can be put on a par with the famous Stonehenge, and in terms of the amount of labor expended, it significantly exceeds it. Its excavations were carried out in 1954-1956 by Professor S.V. Kiselev. In the course of the work, it turned out that the quarries, from where the stones were cut and brought, were located 50 kilometers from the mound, and what devices were used to bring and install these stones is still a mystery.
