The Pulkovo-2 airport terminal in St. Petersburg, which has stood abandoned for the past 4 years, is being reopened: it will be used during the World Cup this summer. Only one half of the terminal, which previously housed the departure area, will be open. It is designed for 1,000 passengers per hour, but at the same time only one flight will be served here - either for arrival or departure. This is to ensure that fans of the opposing teams don't garner too many likes from each other.
The layout is “reversible”, that is, arriving passengers go in the same place as departing ones, only in the opposite direction. We will show the full route in the photo and video.
Interestingly, in the terminal, passengers will only check in for flights and go through passport control: until that moment, no one will be allowed inside, and a special waiting area with catering establishments, dry closets and tents will be located on the forecourt.
Only passengers on organized charter flights with fans, both domestic and international, will take off from Pulkovo-2. "Regular" is serviced in a centralized passenger terminal. It will be possible to get to Pulkovo-2 and back on special shuttle buses for fans.
In order to assess the readiness of the infrastructure to receive fans and rehearse the work of the services, Northern Capital Gateway announced the recruitment of volunteers to participate in the operational tests of the temporary terminal. The testing is supervised by a specially created project team, which includes specialists from several operational divisions of the airport. The tests began on April 12 and will last until April 26 (only six days, two per week). Volunteers, recruited by Kelly Services, will act as passengers during a simulated standard airport operation and will walk the same route fans will take on championship days. All procedures for departure and arrival are being worked out, including obtaining boarding passes in case of loss, checking in and receiving luggage, passing through pre-flight inspection, border and customs control. In total, about 1,000 volunteers and over 300 employees of the airport and government agencies will be involved in the tests.

We recommend using public transport. As we have already said, the airport is located very close to the city, so even with suitcases you will not have difficulty getting to the airport not by taxi, but by public transport. The scheme is very simple:
- Take the metro to the Moskovskaya station
- Exit following the signs and come to a stop
- At the bus stop, take a minibus or a small bus
Everything, in 10 minutes without traffic jams, or in 20-30 minutes if the traffic is heavy, you will find yourself at the airport. This is the best option if you are going to the airport between 5.30 and 0.30.
Transfer
