Ethnomir hotels: reviews and prices. Is there a skating rink, ice slides, a ski track in the ethnic world? Where in the ethnic world you can eat

How to get to Etnomir

The easiest way to get to Ethnomir is by your own car. The road is quite good and smooth. The distance from Kaluga is about 100 km, from Moscow - about 120. On weekends and holidays, depending on demand, a transfer from Moscow can be organized, it is better to find out information about it in advance on the official website of Etnomir.
There are fixed-route taxis from Balabanovo and Borovsk to Etnomir. Electric trains run to Balabanovo, and Borovsk can be reached by bus from Obninsk. See the train schedule

How to buy a ticket to Ethnomir

Tickets are sold at the reception of Ethnomir. Children under 5 years old enter free of charge. There are discounts for schoolchildren and other categories of people. On weekdays, tickets are cheaper than on weekends, and during festivals they are even more expensive, but this price includes many free events. If you buy tickets on the official website of Ethnomir, they will cost 10% cheaper. But here you need to be careful, as various one-time promotions may operate on specific days, which you may not take into account when buying a ticket online. For example, when we went to the Igromir festival, admission was free for all children under 12, but nothing was said about this on the ticket purchase page.

Where to stay

As I already wrote, Ethnomir has as many as 12 hotels of different categories and types: from a hostel to an apart-hotel. Living conditions are varied. The cheapest number is 2400 rubles. in the hostel "Cruise" for two, 3000 rubles. for two in the hotel Caravan Saray and Russian Compound.
In a Nepal hotel, a room will cost from 3,500 rubles. "Russian House" - from 4500 rubles. Hotel East Asia - 5500 rubles, "India" - 5000 rubles. Apart-hotel Himalayan house and Sri Lanka 6000 rub. A night in an upside down house will cost 5,000 rubles.

It just so happened that I always spent the night in a tent in Etnomir. Kids love hiking and it's safe here to combine with activities and sightseeing. But the place for the tent camp, in my opinion, was not chosen very well in Etnomir. It is in the sun on clay soils. In hot weather, there is nowhere to hide from the sun, and in rainy weather it is very dirty. You have to pay for a place under a tent, and if you want, you can park a car there, but this is also a paid service. Cars are allowed to enter Ethnomir only at certain times in the morning or evening, so as not to disturb visitors.

The tent camp is equipped with plastic toilets, washbasins, showers and places for a fire.

The last time we spent the night there, at the same time a camp of the Ministry of Emergency Situations passed in the neighborhood. At the reception we were warned that this could be noisy, but for some reason I did not pay much attention to this warning. Indeed, during the day the noise was tolerable and did not bother anyone, especially since we pitched a tent at a distance from their camp. But at night, unexpectedly for us, exercises began, under the howl of sirens, the camp participants walked several times past our tent and back. It was fun.

Until recently, yurts were cheap, but more comfortable than in tents. I have already had the opportunity to spend the night in a yurt during my But this year the yurts were demolished.

Infrastructure

Don't expect to see everything in one day. The territory of the Ethnomir is very large, there are many interesting objects, and they are far from each other. It will be quite difficult for a person who got here for the first time to orient in space, despite the large number of signs and diagrams. I would advise you to listen to a sightseeing tour first. These excursions are organized for groups at an additional cost, and it is best to arrange them in advance. But on the days of thematic festivals, they can be held free of charge according to the schedule for everyone, so read the schedule of events.
Here I will try to talk about those objects that seemed to me the most interesting.

Mira street

The acquaintance with Ethnomir begins with it. This street is a bit like a big shopping mall. It is located in an indoor building, but instead of boutiques, it has pavilions dedicated to various countries of the world. pavilions decorated
with great imagination and taste. Kids will like the Scandinavian house (Finland, Sweden, Norway) the most. It has a knitted reindeer, a slide and a pool with balls. The pavilions offer various master classes, some have small cafes with national cuisine and drinks.

Museum of the Russian oven

After going to the end of Mira Street and going out into the street, you will find yourself in the museum of the Russian stove. Actually, the construction of Ethnomir began with him. This is a conditional name that combines several buildings in the Russian national style. In the center of the architectural composition is a model of a Russian stove magnified 10 times. There are guided tours inside the building of the Russian stove, where you will learn how the Russian stove is arranged, during the tour you can climb to the top of the stove, from where a panoramic view opens.
Around the stove there are huts from various territories of Russia, in one of them there is a beekeeper's house, where you can buy honey and taste mead.
On the territory of the Museum of the Russian stove there are sculptural compositions; during holidays and festivals, events are held there.

labyrinths

There are two of them in Etnomir - a forest labyrinth and Fort Ross. Entrance is paid, but if you buy tickets for both at once, it will be cheaper. Forest labrinth is hanging paths among trees. It is quite picturesque, and it is pleasant to walk along it on a hot summer day, along the way you can relax on the benches. "Fort Ross" is small in size, which does not make it any less confusing. Here, first it is proposed to look at the labyrinth from above, and then find a way out in the minimum amount of time. The winner of the day is awarded a prize - a frisbee.

Museum of Wildlife

A real enthusiast works here. If you come to Etnomir with children, be sure to visit this museum, you won't regret it. The museum itself is located in a wooden hut. The schedule of visits is written at the entrance. The tour includes an introduction to wildlife. Basically, these are all sorts of monsters and reptiles, but you should have seen the love with which the owner of the museum treats them, which is quickly transferred to children. Encounter with nature begins with a giant African cockroach. They say that such cockroaches are used in Ingda when conducting stress interviews when applying for a job, when candidates are tested for stress resistance. Children are invited to stroke this cockroach, after which it emits a characteristic hiss. From a cockroach, we smoothly move on to a toad, a scorpion, a cobra, a lizard and other equally cute representatives of the animal world. Children stroke representatives, put them on their knees, wrap them around their necks. Adults are also invited to do this, but they usually refuse, especially mothers. I will not reveal all the secrets of this excursion - you yourself will find out about everything when you go on it.

Husky kennel

Children love huskies, and adults usually do too. On the territory of Ethnomir there is an enclosure with huskies, I don’t know how many dogs there are, but not less than 15. As a rule, these are dogs that the owners abandoned. This type of dog is not intended for city apartments, so often people who decide to get a husky in an apartment do not cope with it and give it away for free, although the cost of a husky puppy starts at 30 thousand rubles. Ethnomir accepts such dogs. Paid skiing is organized on them, which is especially popular in winter. For only 100 rubles, you can go into the husky enclosure and chat with the dogs closer, which many do.
Outwardly, huskies are very similar to wolves, and their habits are the same. They are pretty aggressive with each other. They often howl at night, and in clear weather, howling can be carried for 20 kilometers. But at the same time, huskies will never offend a person, especially a child. Children, even small ones, enter the enclosure, dogs condescendingly allow themselves to be touched, stroked, even picked up. Huskies can lie motionless for a long time with their eyes closed, and then it seems that they are sleeping, but at the same time they are sensitive to everything that happens around them. For example, the kennel keeper suddenly threw a handful of dry food, and all the huskies, who seemed to be sleeping, instantly reacted and jumped to their feet.
Next to the husky enclosure, a neighbor appeared - a white fox. Such foxes, as we were told, do not occur in the wild, it was artificially bred on a farm to live in the house. I don’t know, I wouldn’t want to have a fox in the house, but how many people, as they say, so many tastes.

Forest Lake

As far as I remember, there was no such lake in Ethnomir before, so, apparently, it was dug artificially. On the shore there is a beach and a bar "Glush", in the summer there are discos. I don't know if anyone swims in the lake, but the water in it looks dark and muddy. Catamarans and boats are rented on the lake.

upside down house

This is a new object that I saw for the first time this year. It is located far enough from the main territory, and a free shuttle from the Russian stove museum was allowed there. The house and the area around it are decorated in the form of a Magic Land based on the book "The Wizard of the Emerald City". A quest is being held inside, which we did not get to, but the people leaving it said that it was very interesting. The territory that we drove to get to the upside down house looks exactly like Etnomir on our first visit - a large area, paths and the emerging outlines of some objects. Apparently, in the coming years, it will also be completed.
Well, I have almost exhausted my eloquence, and have not yet covered half of the objects of the Ethnomir. Come and see everything with your own eyes! I, as always, wish you interesting travels.

And read about other interesting places in the Kaluga region in the article.
