One of the options for a document confirming the solvency of a traveler is a sponsorship letter.

This is what a sponsorship letter to Italy looks like

The following categories of citizens should issue a sponsorship letter:

  • Children;
  • students;
  • pensioners;
  • Disabled people;
  • Unemployed.

The guarantors of the above categories of citizens can be: first of all, parents or close relatives, such as grandparents. For pensioners, their children who have reached the age of majority can act as guarantors. In some cases, sponsors may be adult brothers or sisters.

A child accompanied by a single parent does not require a sponsorship letter. A notarized permission from the second parent is required, which confirms the possibility of such a trip. The parent's foreign passport must contain the details of all children or the child who is traveling.

A cover letter should be obtained by citizens with either a small or unofficial source of income. The consulate should clarify the amount of income that must be indicated. For the most part, this value lies within the limits of 40 thousand rubles per month. If the trip is purely business or work, the costs of it are borne by the direct employer or the host.

If you plan to visit Italy and at the same time you are not working, then it will be sufficient to show that you have the required amount of funds in your accounts and their movement. The document must be certified by the bank. If you have such a document on hand, there is no need for a letter.

Attention! People who are not blood relatives can act as a travel sponsor. However, it is worth considering the possibility that the letter may be rejected by the consulate.

Documents accompanying the letter

In addition to the letter itself, it is worth providing a number of the following documents that will confirm the sponsor's security:

  • A copy of the guarantor's passport (first page and page with registration);
  • A document certified by a notary, which confirms the existence of family ties;
  • In the event that the traveler and the guarantor have different surnames, you will need to present a document confirming the reason for changing the surname;
  • Documents providing, and this certificate must be issued no earlier than a month before the required visa document issuance. The certificate must also contain the data of the sponsor, his position, the timing of his employment, contact numbers of the head and chief accountant of the enterprise, the address of the place of work and a mandatory stamp. In the event that the head of the enterprise is the closest relative or has the same last name with the sponsor, two signatures are required (a sample certificate from work in Russian can be downloaded, in English);

  • A bank statement confirming that there is enough money on the account to pay for the upcoming expenses of travelers during a trip to Italy. As an example, the guarantor assumes the obligation to cover the expenses of one person during one week of stay in Italy. At the same time, the minimum amount per person per day is about 50 euros, which means that the bank statement must contain the amount of 50 euros * 7 days * 1 person. =350 euros.
