STARCLAN: Wisdom of the Ancestors

The wisdom of the ancestors

Represents Lionheart

Wait for the moon to rise, the sky to be filled with stars, and the night to fall. Go forward along the moon path. Do you hear how the fern crunches under your paws, do you feel how a light breeze ruffles your fur? Mist swirls between the trees, whimsically changing the familiar outlines of the forest.

Do not be afraid, boldly push the branches apart and get out into the clearing.

Do you see four mighty oaks, whose crowns go high into the sky, clinging to the stars? Behind them, right in the middle of the clearing, stone rock. I'll be waiting for you at the top.

My name is Lionheart. Once I was a ThunderClan warrior, but, having died in battle, I ended up in the great StarClan, where the souls of all dead warriors go. Of course you talk to me in my sleep. We often film those we protect. Do not be afraid. I know my world seems to be woven of shadow and fog, but believe me, there is enough warmth and light in it to warm the blackest heart.

There is nothing sadder than seeing very young kittens leave the earth to join StarClan. When newborn babies appear in the Clans, the hearts of StarClan cats fill with joy, and I rejoice at how ThunderClan squires become warriors.

Sometimes the fate of some of them is revealed to us. Most often this applies to new leaders. When ThunderClan was led by Firestar, I immediately saw that his wisdom and courage would help my Clanmates survive the terrible time of trials. When Tigerstar came to power in ShadowClan, we knew terrible times were coming...

Unfortunately, we cannot change the future. I would give anything in the world to stop the fire that destroyed ThunderClan's territory, or save my Clanmates from a pack of dogs! But the life of warriors has always consisted of trials and dangers!

It is not given to us to stop the series of disasters, we can only send secret signs and prophecies to our tribes, in the hope that they will be able to correctly interpret them and prepare for the coming hardships.

Cats that are more strongly associated with StarClan usually become healers. So it happened with Spottedleaf, of the living cats, Leafpool, the daughter of Firestar, is closest to us. Firestar himself often sees prophetic dreams. The most amazing thing is that he saw them in his early childhood, when he lived as a house kitten in a Twoleg nest!

The likes of Leafpool and Firestar often talk to us in our dreams. They understand the secret signs that we leave in the sky, on the water surface or in the foliage of trees, and can reveal to their fellow tribesmen what a falling star or a bizarre cloud shape means. We cannot do without interpreters, because they connect us with our tribes, helping to protect and preserve them.

There are special sacred places in which the world of the living comes into contact with the world of dreams. Tribal leaders come here to consult with us or get answers to their questions. Here we give them the star name and the gift of nine lives.

Most often, we talk in a dream with the cats of our tribes, but sometimes we also turn to our neighbors. After death, I began to understand other cats better. Now, despite earthly strife, I wish them all well. I am sure that all tribes should live in peace.

Cats, who did a lot of evil in their earthly life, go to the Dark Forest after death. In this gloomy place, Tigerstar, Tailbreaker, Scratch and other warrior cats, banished and alien to their compatriots on earth, are doomed to eternal wandering.

There are other skies in the world where other cats live. For example, the Falling Water Clan has its own star ancestors, and when the cats of our tribes, during their long wanderings, got into the mountains, the skies of the ancestors of this clan were briefly opened to us. Usually foreign skies are inhabited by the souls of the ancestors of other tribes, we are ordered to go there.

During their journey to the lake, we lost our warriors for a while. We ourselves had to go on a long journey. Wandering for a long time in unfamiliar skies, we did not immediately find our new house. Without the warriors of the four tribes, we would never have found a new sky, but they would not have found their new territories without our help.

How can we be at the Four Trees, you ask, when the Twolegs have destroyed the forest and uprooted the oaks? How can you not understand! The Four Trees will forever remain in everyone's hearts and memories. They became part of the sky and part of StarClan.

Now go back to your tent and sleep peacefully. Thank you for stopping by. Remember, we are always watching you from above. Keep your eyes and ears open, notice everything unusual, and then you too will see the secret signs that we leave to our earthly compatriots.

Sad death, lonely death. Snowfur's Tale

My name is Belogrivka. I am a StarClan warrior, and once upon a time I was a young Thundercat... One day I was chasing aliens from our territory and ran out to the Thunderpath, where I was killed by a Twoleg monster.

Most of all, I felt sorry not for myself, but for my little son, who was left an orphan. Of course, I continued to look after him from the height of heaven, and I was very proud, admiring the ceremony of his initiation into warriors ... Ah, my Buran was so beautiful, so brave, so happy! How I would love to be with him on this great day! I think he felt my presence during his nightly vigil.

This story happened shortly after we learned that my sister Bluefur was expecting kittens. I would like to be happy for her, but she broke the warrior code, and I knew that grief and suffering lay ahead for my sister. Her kittens were not fathered by her ThunderClan. It was the RiverCat's herald, a brave warrior named Acorn.

One of the kittens will be joining us soon,” sighed Brambleclaw, the former RiverClan healer. - Let them divide the rest among themselves - one for ThunderClan, the other for RiverClan.

Who needs half-breeds! snorted a ShadowClan warrior contemptuously.

You're talking about innocent kittens! - with unexpected fury cut him off Blackberry.

The souls of the warrior ancestors of all the tribes gathered at the Four Trees. The winter on earth that year was snowy, and the clearing between the Celestial Oaks was wrapped in a thick fog, as white as the snow in the forest we had long abandoned. The cold was severe, the tribes were starving.

Every day more and more cats went to StarClan, and we were tormented by guilt that we could not help them in any way ...

This baby must not die! hissed Moonlight, the old cat who was the mother of Bluefur and me. Moonlight had condemned Bluestar from the beginning. - Bluefur is to blame for falling in love with a cat from a foreign tribe. And now, what did she think, she picked up the children and dragged them through the snow through the forest! No wonder one of the babies is barely breathing! Luckily, the other two are still alive!

Children will be better off in RiverClan than in ThunderClan,” one of RiverClan’s ancestors objected. We have more food than others. If Acorn agrees to accept his children, they will have the opportunity to survive.

How can we know? Moonlight snapped. “If my daughter had left all three of them in her tent, and licked them properly, and warmed them at her side, they would have survived perfectly without it!”

What's in the future? asked Owlstar, ThunderClan's oldest ancestor. - Look there better, Lunnitsa.

It's too dark in there, I can hardly see anything, my mother grumbled.

Then let's think," Owlstar sighed. - If Bluefur stays with the children in the nursery, Hollypaw will be the herald. You know very well how power-hungry he is. Hollypaw will certainly unleash a war, and the warriors of ThunderClan are already tormented by a long and terrible winter. Do you really want our tribe to be replenished with new cats who left the earth prematurely due to the bloodthirstiness of Hollypaw?

It's clear where you're going! Want to buy ThunderClan warriors from death by sacrificing an innocent baby? Lunica hissed. "I don't know that my daughter thinks Hollypaw is a bad mouthpiece for ThunderClan!" But maybe, having become one, this brawler will behave more prudently?

We probably don't know that," Blackberry shook her head. Bluefur doesn't know that either. She makes decisions based on her feelings and observations. I don't like what she did... I wouldn't be able to endanger newborn kittens... but I understand what drives her...

She will do what she thinks is right in the best interests of her tribe,” Owlstar nodded with a sigh.

She will kill her child! - hissed Lunnitsa.

I'll take care of him," I said, and all eyes turned to me. - I was a queen when I died, my son Buran had just left the nursery. I remember what it's like to take care of a newborn ... and I yearn for this care. I will be a good mother to this baby.

I think Snowfur is right,” Owlstar nodded.

I agree, - sighed Blackberry.

Moonlight agreed too, nodding, but her eyes were sad.

Leaving the circle of star warriors, I ran along the river towards the Heated Stones.

I floated over smooth pebbles, barely touching them with my paws and feeling the gusts of cold winter wind. But the earthly cold was not able to get under my thick white fur.

A few fox tails from the shore, among the trees, I spotted Bluefur.

My sister was lying on her side, covering three tiny kittens with her.

Bluefur was lucky - all three of her children went to their mother. If her cubs had inherited the red coat of their father, Acorn, Bluefur's secret would have been known to all ThunderClan.

The two kittens squeaked plaintively, trying to dodge the tongue of their mother, who furiously licked them against their fur. The third lay motionless and seemed to be asleep. His name was Moshka.

Trying to wake him up, Bluefur persistently pushed the baby with her nose. Her eyes were full of sadness, and I almost cried from pity for my sister.

Bluefur was exhausted and barely alive from hunger, sharp ribs protruded through her hair that had faded with a blue tint, but she continued to lick the baby and lament:

Midge! Honey, wake up! What have I done? I beg you, wake up... Don't leave, stay! There is very little left, very little. There, on the other side of the river, you will find warmth and peace. Your father will take care of you, I promise. My dear, brave, beloved son! Be patient just a little bit, I beg you! - She clung even closer to the kitten, wrapped her paws around him, pulled him to her. - Moshka! How could I kill you?

My heart was breaking with pity for my sister, but it was too late. Moshka crossed the line between worlds and found himself in heaven.

I lowered my head and whispered softly:

Midge! Do you hear me, Moshka?

The gray kitten opened his eyes and looked at me in surprise.

Who are you? he squeaked. - Why do you have stars on your skin?

Don't be afraid, I muttered softly. - My name is Belogrivka. I will take care of you.

Moshka with an effort got up and hobbled uncertainly in my direction. Feeling his nose buried in my fur, I looked over his head at the tiny gray body that lay lifeless in the snow next to Bluefur.

I'm cold, - Moshka whimpered. - Terribly cold. Just numb from the ears to the tip of the tail. Even my mustache is frozen, look!

I know,” I whispered and licked the top of his head. - Come with me, soon you will not be cold.

Moshka hesitated, looking at me with huge green eyes.

But what about mom?

She'll be fine, I assured her.

It was true, I didn't lie to the kid.

I knew my sister could handle the pain. She will never forget Moth, but she will try not to think about him in order to remain strong and serve her tribe.

I want to go to my mother, - Moshka cried. - I want to stay there, with my mother, Kamushko and Cloud!

You will see them, I promised. - First you will look at them from the stars, and then they will come to you.

The kid buried his nose in my fur and nodded.

I'm in last time looked at her sister, and then Moshka and I turned around and began to climb the moonbeam to the stars.

In this article, we will talk about a very popular series of adventure novels for children - "Warrior Cats". The characters of Cherith Baldry and Kate Carey are very fond of young readers. And really, who doesn't like cats? Especially living by their own laws away from people!

A little about the series

In 2003, the first book of the Warrior Cats series was published. The characters of this novel, called "Get Wild!", were not only forest cats, but also one domestic kitten - Ginger, who was destined to lead ThunderClan in the future and receive the name Firestar.

In fact, the series includes several cycles, we list them:

  • "The Beginning of Prophecy".
  • "New Prophecy"
  • "The Power of Three"
  • "Sign of the Stars"
  • "Beginning of Tribes".
  • "Shadow of the Future"

Books continue to be published to this day, so this list cannot be called definitive.

cat tribes

Initially, the series "Warrior Cats" talked about the enmity of the four tribes. The characters of the novels are therefore divided into four groups:

  • Thunder cats.
  • River (the most famous representatives: Meteor, Kite, Serebryanka, Swallow, Acorn, Hurricane, Motylinka).
  • Shadowy (Scarf, Ravenclaw, Starbreaker, Ryzhinka, Klok Comet, Sol, Ryzhinka).
  • Cats of the Wind (Greywing, Rook, Star Ray, Breeze, Butterfly, Heather, Blackgrab).

In addition, there are two more tribes. The first is Starry, they get into it after death. The second is heavenly. This tribe once existed, but was destroyed and was considered extinct until it was revived by Firestar. It included vagabonds and outcasts.

Warrior Cats: ThunderClan characters

Most of the events of the cycle take place in ThunderClan, so the characters from this pride are much more common for readers. We list them separately:

  • Firestar - the most famous representative of the tribe, was born in a human house and was a "house cat".
  • Tigerstar is Firestar's ill-wisher and eternal adversary.
  • Blue Star - was the leader of the tribe.
  • Squirrel - Firestar's daughter, former queen.
  • Bramblestar is a brave warrior and later leader of his tribe.
  • Graystripe - was a "domestic kitty", but was able to earn the respect of wild cats and even become an elder.
  • Sparrow is a healer.
  • Hollyleaf is a warrior who later left her tribe and joined the Star Cats.
  • Sandstorm is a short-tempered and stubborn queen turned elder. She left her tribe several times, but each time she returned.
  • Leafpool is another pack healer.
  • Mistystar is a warrior who left her home at a young age and settled among the RiverCats.
  • Bright-faced - got her name because of the terrible scar that disfigured half of her face.

These are not all of the members of ThunderClan seen in the Warrior Cats series. Characters (photos of which can be found in this article) have appeared in such numbers for a long time that books were published that it is almost impossible to list them all, so we limited ourselves to only the main ones. If you want to know more about them, then for this it is better to turn to the original source, that is, books.

firestar

This character is worth talking about separately, since he became the main character of the first books of the Warrior Cats series (the characters are listed here). Ginger, that was the name of a small domestic kitten, accidentally fell into the forest and ended up in ThunderClan. Wild cats did not accept him immediately, at first he had to prove that he was worthy of the title of warrior. During his life, the hero changed several names, in addition to those already mentioned, he was called Fireheart and Fireheart. He has a soft but decisive character, kind and fair. The main thing for him is the good of his tribe, although the representatives of other packs are not as hostile as his relatives. Often, Firestar acts as a peacemaker and protector.
