Steep rapids of the wilva. The main things Permians need to know when going on a spring rafting trip

River Vilva - located in the Perm region, several other rivers of the region have the same name, translated from the Komi-Permyak language means " new water».

The river is a left tributary of the Usva River. Vilva flows into it already on the territory of the city of Chusovoy.

Length - 170 km,

The basin area is 3020 km2. Slope 2 m/km.

The source of the river is on the slopes Ural Range, near the border of the Sverdlovsk region.

The current of the Vilva has a western and southwestern direction. In the upper reaches it is winding, there are many rifts, in the middle and lower reaches in the valley there are extensive water meadows. In the narrow places where the Vilva crosses mountain ranges, the banks are very steep, the rocks descend vertically to the water. The course of the river is swift, especially during the high water at the end of April. Summer in upstream she is very mellow. Rafting in the spring requires good preparation. It flows into the Usva within the city limits of Chusovoy.

The main tributaries of the Vilva include Vizhay, Bolshaya Myasnaya, Korostelevka, Bolshaya Porozhnaya, Northern Rassokha.

Ecology. Vilva is heavily polluted by wastewater from the mines of the Kizelovsky coal basin.

Minerals: galena (lead blende), accompanies diamonds, gold. In the lower reaches, an increased diamond content of channel and floodplain deposits was established, which are traced in almost continuous bands to the mouth.

Alloy.

The best time is May.

Three years ago, 9 people died in the area of the siphon crossing of the gas pipeline across the Vilva River, 5 kilometers from the road bridge leading to the city of Gremyachinsk. The duker was repaired, as a result of which its height increased. The high water level led to the formation of a waterfall 1-2 meters high, as those who saw it called - "water hell". Be careful, there is a warning sign upstream.

Route Usva and Chusovaya: from the village. Novovilvensky to the village. Verkhnechusovskie Gorodki, 235 km (Vilva river, 166 km: Novovilvensky village - Korostelevka village, 27 km - Vilva village, 41 km - mouth of the Vizhay river, 62 km - mouth, 36 km; Usva river: river. Vilva - mouth, 5 km; Chusovaya river; Usva river - village Verkhnechusovskie Gorodoki, 64 km).

Rafting on the river. Vilva can start from the village. Novovilvensky. In the upper reaches, the channel is winding, 25 m wide, there are rifts with small shafts (up to 30 cm), flooded islands. After 17 km meets old bridge logging road, easily passable in big water.

1 km after the bridge on the left turn of the river, the river flows into Vilva. Stormy. To the abandoned village Korostelevka (l) 4 hours from the bridge.

Half an hour from the village - the threshold of Nyrok-1, located on a sharp left turn behind the island, is visible from the water for 300 m. This is a two-kilometer shiver.

From the right bank, the river is blocked by a pulsating foamy shaft. The width is up to 10 m, the banks are up to 1 m near the left bank. It is better to pass through the center, leaving in front of the rampart wall to the left bank, where the river is calmer. Under the threshold there is a place for mooring and insurance. After the next sharp left turn, a rift starts up to 2 km long and the height of the shafts into the high water is up to 1 m.

The threshold of Nyrok-2 opens unexpectedly on the left turn. The river is obliquely blocked by stone slabs. The widest passage is near the left bank. The threshold passes through the center into the big water.

Below for 5 km - shiver, to the mouth of the river. Dappled.

Here at the village Dingy parking place.

Below the river flows calmly (5 - 6 km) to the river. Witchy. The width is about 50 m, there are rifts. 100 m below, behind a small island after a right turn, the Kosaya Plita threshold, 500 m. From the river. Shchegrovity to the village. Oblique Slab two running hours. It is more convenient to carry out reconnaissance from the right bank, the passage time is 10 - 12 minutes.

It is safer to overcome this difficult rift at the beginning to the left of the center. An oblique slab protrudes from the right bank, blocking part of the river. Further - in the middle and near the right bank. On the right bank a good place for mooring and organizing insurance. After 100 m below the threshold, the river is already calming down. Below the threshold (1.5 - 2 km) is the abandoned village of Koldovaty, and immediately after it (in 5 - 6 minutes of walking) a three-kilometer rift with a shaft up to 1 m begins, on which there are very few calm areas (60 - 100 m). Walking through the center.

10 - 12 km below the village. Koldovaty (l) is located in the village. Butler, 300 m in front of which there is a bridge. Center walk. From here mole alloy is possible.

From Witchy to big village Vilva (l) - 18-20 km. Before him below the village. Butler there are no special obstacles, but traffic jams are possible in front of the bridge (3 km above the village) and below (1 km). Need intelligence.

Under the bridge, there is a passage in the center, and immediately after it there is a good place for mooring. In the village forestry, rafting office. Below, blockages are possible up to the abandoned village of Mutny (p), driftwood and traffic jams - up to the river. Usva. Below Mutnoy, after 1.5 - 2 km, there is a strong pressure against the steep left bank with a rocky wall.

From the village Vilva to the creek Porozhny 10 km. The first 2 - 3 km must be explored, blockage is possible. The tributaries of the Bol. and Mal. Empty (n). To r. Eremchikha 28 km, width of the river 60 - 70 m, blockages are possible. From Eremchikha to the village. Ust-Vizhay (30 km) no obstacles.

From the village Vilva to Chusovaya is not particularly difficult. The width of the river is 60 - 100 m, the speed of the current is more than 6 - 7 km / h.

Throughout the Vilva there are many islands, you need to keep to the main stream. Below the mouth of the river Vizhay Vilva is crossed by the road bridge of the Gubakha - Gremyachinsk - Chusovoy road.

Transport: settlement Novovilvensky - a train from the railway. Art. Vizhay; settlement Vilva - bus to the station. Arable land (Gornozavodsk), 30 km; settlement Verkhnechusovskie Gorodoki - st. Arable land or a bus to the town of Chusovoy, 50 km, or to the station. Komarihinskaya railway line Chusovskaya - Perm.

This time on the rafting, we chose Lyuba as a regular chronicler, so the report turned out to be more picturesque and with fewer technical details.

April 29
Zabroska. J.D. railway station Sverdlovsk passenger. Meeting under the left arch at 6.30 am. Slowly "suitable" backpacks, under them - ours.
Everyone wants water! Go.
In N. Tagil at 10.45. Train to Vizhay - at 11.25. In Vizhay - at 15:00. dull environment– not only on Wednesdays. Houses up to their necks in a swamp. From the abundance of rain and the lack of sun, the houses are drooping and gray. Instead of asphalt and roads - a narrow strip of boards. Two days before our arrival, snow fell here and melted the next day. In winter, there is two meters of snow here. Vizhai people work in the timber industry and in the Ministry of Railways. In 30 minutes from the station there is the city of Gornozavodsk, where Vizhay people go to buy goods.
Bisser and Vizhay stations are located on the top of the mountain, so it snows and rains more often here and it is colder here than in the nearest areas. We ate at the station. Bought potatoes.
At 21.30 we are getting ready to land on the open platform of the working train. We ride in the wind and rain. Looks like internally displaced persons. Our transportation cost us 40 thousand rubles or $8. At 22.20 we landed from the platform at the bridge over the Vilva. By 24 hours, the camp was promptly set up. There are parking lots on both sides.
Northern cypresses - that's how you want to call proud spruces. They stood as an impregnable wall, as if holding back the obstinate, energetic Vilva. Having taken a little on a dose of alcohol, they "repulsed" at 1.00. The state of faith in a bright tomorrow.

April 30.
It rained during the night, and there was a thunderstorm. Half a day periodically, with short intervals, drizzling rain. In the conditions of a swampy-damp-wet climate on a small "patch" - "Malaya Zemlya", a shipyard turned around. A picture of complete immersion in the construction of the fleet. Work is underway to pump up the sides. The surrounding vegetation under the influence of the ax is gradually transformed into decks.
At 11 am, another group of durist tourists arrived. They shook themselves off the platform and began to "swing" too. When they "pouted", then one group after another set sail on catamarans and rafts. Groups from Kushva, Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk, etc.) We wave after them, realizing that tomorrow we will suffer the same fate. In the afternoon, the rain stopped its course.
We contemplated with inspiration how the "crazy" hands of our men created such a romantic and close to simple Russian fleet.
I want more water!
Sniffling and snoring at 23:00.
Condition - thirst for water. Judging by the signs, the next day promised optimistic weather conditions.

Foggy morning, second morning. We collect junk. We are all complete swindlers. From morning to morning with bags, in bags and on bags. At 10.30 the fleet was launched. It became sunny and clear. At 11 o'clock our camp, as it were, with songs and dances, sailed from point A to point B. We sail comfortably, as if we are leafing through illustrations of a natural book.
Here mighty cedars, like tough bodyguards of fragile birches, stand as if with shaved heads.
It can be seen how streams and rivers flow into the team of the powerful authority of Vilva. But at the very top of the Christmas tree is a crow, apparently a local pop star of these places.

Rolls are a natural attraction. We floated, as if on a water escalator, with inspiration contemplating both banks at once.
Berths at 14 o'clock near the abandoned village of Korostelevka, in which only one dilapidated house has survived. On the other side you can see the huntsmen's hut, a barn, beehives, a vegetable garden. Near collapsed bridge, road. At this point, the Korestelevka River flows into the Vilva. From here, the Basek ridge is clearly visible.

Unexpectedly, one of the members of our society of "waterfowl" remembered that at the previous parking lot he hung a tunic with money and documents on a tree, and at 17 pm he ran along the shore after him.
At 7 p.m., a gala dinner was held on the occasion of May Day. The parade was commanded by the responsible duty officer Anatoly Nikolaevich Luginin.
Unquestioningly, “dogs” were taken out of backpacks. That evening, we “fell off” so much that we wanted to say “place!”, But we were already powerless to raise our voices. For a long time they will remember those places, how the long rumbling in our wombs sweetly merged with the murmur of Vilva.
The clock showed 23 hours. Vitya was gone. Anatoly Nikolayevich "sat" on validol. Yuri Ivanovich and Volodya "stand" on their own - it is necessary to look for the loss. The rest were lying, but could not fall asleep, waiting for their comrades. The state of hope. At 2 am Vitya was taken out of the taiga and brought back. On the same day, Vova was injured, cut his finger with a saw, severe bleeding. Vova was put on sick leave. His replacement was Yuri Ivanovich - a waterfowl before that on a boat. Passed out at 2:30 am.

It rained in the morning. At 10.30 mooring lines were given and the river carried us along at the behest of the current. The nature of the river was constantly changing - from violently dodgy to mildly calm. At 12 o'clock we were at the threshold of "Dive One" We went to reconnaissance to inspect the threshold from the shore. At this place stands an obelisk to those who died in 1989. All were given a safety briefing. Having saddled our "horses", we trotted through this threshold.

Calmed down. But that is not all. Suddenly, we drove into a water earthquake zone. We are in the teeth of the second threshold - "Dive Two". After a few kilometers, we are in the pincers of the third threshold - "stubbed". It began to overwhelm us from below, and from above, a downpour began to peck at our heads, as if hinting "where the devils are taking you." Having passed the water treatment zone, at 15 o'clock we moored for lunch. The womb demanded.

They lit two fires: dinner was cooked on one, our soaked clothes were fried on the other. Having fed and warmed ourselves, we climbed into the water again. The whole subsequent journey we were “sawed” by cold rain, the wind was dragging us from behind, and waves of indignation were brought down on us from below.
The weather got worse and worse. I wanted to loosen up.
On the faces of the sediment in the form of a grimace and a wet nose.
Condition - ladies oak.
We swim up to the village of Vilva.
Vilva stands on high "heels", i.e. on the high bank, very beautiful. A picture of a peaceful taiga life. At 19.30, in a 30-minute walk from the village, they "dropped anchor" and set up a camp on the left bank.
Parking in a swamp. They prepared spruce branches, drank alcohol and collapsed on their sides.

Snow fell during the night. Gray morning. Several of our comrades on the campaign were sent to the village - it was planned to visit the first-aid post and the store. Arranged with the director of the school about lodging for the night.
At 20:00, 6 people were expelled from these remote places on a stage home.

After spending the night at school, in the morning the six from 8 o'clock in the morning "traveled" from here. For two hours we drove by Kamaz to Gornozavodsk, from there by St. Petersburg train to N. Tagil, and at 21 o'clock we were at home.

May 5, 6, 7
Since the chronicler Lyuba was sent "by stage" home from the village of Vilva as part of a group of 6 people. I will finish the story about this alloy.
As is often the case in hiking, after part of the group goes home along an alternate route, the weather improves. This time was no exception.
The mood, like the weather, also became much better. And we enjoyed watching the beauties floating on both sides of us. untouched nature.

Before end point The route was about 2-3 walking days. There were no thresholds, no shiver, no further rolls. The course of the Vilva was calm. Good weather. This year there was a lot of water in Vilva and the current carried us at a decent speed, so we hardly rowed, but only fattened up lying on catamarans.
At such a pace, we finished, collected the catamarans and returned home.

Permians were divided into those who go for rafting on May 1st and those who go for rafting on May 9th. Rafting in the spring presents certain risks. The current is fast, the flow of water is large. But it's good - you don't have to row, like in summer. Know yourself to manage the process.

But you have to keep your ears open.

Water temperature +4 ... +5 degrees. In the summer I fell out of the boat - and for myself and others I swam for pleasure and continued on my way. Spring bathing is a completely different matter, it can come to tragedy.

Ice jams are a particular danger in spring. Sometimes it happens that they report that a certain river has opened up, and the rafters have to cuckoo on the shore for several days, waiting for the traffic jam to go away.

In March was warm weather, the ice weakened, but then it got colder again and the rivers in the Kama region were not freed from ice captivity everywhere. What is happening on the rivers, for today complete information No.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, to date, 74% of the rivers have been cleared of ice. On Vishera, Kolva, Kos, Yazva, Yaiva and the northern part of the Kama - ice drift.

There are glimpses on Vizhay clean water, but there are also places where water simply went over the ice. There is almost always ice on Usva on May Day.

To date, we have registered about 40 groups from different corners Perm Territory, - said deputy Head of the Regional Rescue Service Timofey Denisov. - Most of them go to Vizhay and Usva.

Rafting on the Permian rivers is not very difficult and does not require special training. They are not sports. By and large, they are all of the first or second category, and there are six categories of difficulty in total.

However, precautions must be taken.

So that traveling along the rivers does not bring disappointment and health problems, of course, you should take care of your own safety - a life jacket and a protective helmet, say the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Perm Territory. - Personal belongings and means of communication must be hermetically sealed, clothing must be appropriate. It is not recommended to wear rubber boots, which, when filled with water, can be dragged to the bottom of the river when the boat or catamaran capsizes.

REMINDER FOR ALLOYERS

1. Before you go rafting, be sure to register with the Perm Regional Rescue Service. It's enough just to call. Better - 15 days before the trip.

You can register a group by calling the regional rescue service: (8 - 342) 210-78-10, 2-67-82-59.

You need to tell the rescuers which route you are going, when you plan to go out on the water and return back, how many people are in your group and the coordinates of the leader. If you suddenly do not come on time or something happens on the water, they will start looking for you.

2. Thoroughly prepare before the trip. Study the route carefully. Find out if the river is free of ice. It is a must to have a route map with you!

3. Take only serviceable alloying equipment for rafting.

4. Everyone must have life jackets and helmets.

5. Take a first aid kit with you.

6. Special requirements for the head of the alloy: he is responsible for everything. This must be a person who has already repeatedly gone hiking.

7. You must have means of communication with you. In many parts of the rivers, you can call on cell phones. This could save your life.

8. When rafting down the river, always stick to the main stream.

9. If you heard that the water ahead is restless, or according to the map - dangerous area, do not be lazy, moor to the shore, conduct reconnaissance. If it is unsafe to walk on the water, it is better to follow along the shore. You will be more whole.

10. It is strictly forbidden to drink alcohol on the water!

Vilva - typical mountain river. It originates on the western spurs of the Ural Range. The general direction is west. In the middle and lower reaches in the river valley there are extensive water meadows. In the narrow places where Vilva saws through the mountain ranges, the banks are very steep, the rocks descend vertically to the water, unique in their beauty.

After 170 km from the source, the Vilva flows into the Usva within the city limits of Chusovoy. The course of the river is very fast, especially immediately after the ice drift at the end of April. There is excellent fishing throughout the river, grayling, taimen in the upper reaches, pike, perch, ide and other fish in the lower reaches.

In the spring, rafting is possible on a well-knit raft. IN summer time the river becomes very shallow in the upper reaches, rafting on a small raft and small-draft vessels is possible. In spring, rafting on the Vilva rapids requires good preparation.

settlement NOVOVILVENSKII - pos. VILVA. 70 km.

At the Vizhay station, change to the railway line going to the village of Srednyaya Usva. The route starts from Novovilvensky settlement.

The settlement arose in connection with the development of logging to the north of Vilva. There is a village council, a post office, a medical assistant's station, a school, a club, shops, and a canteen.

To the north of the village one can clearly see the Myasnaya stone, followed by Dikiy, to the north-west the Basegi ridge, to the east some peaks of the spurs of the western Urals.

Raft of logs is better to collect below the bridge. From the village, the river flows south, receives the Proletarka stream on the left and gradually turns north.

To the mouth of the Bolshaya Myasnaya River there is a series of rifts with sharp turns, there are many stones in the channel. The river is compressed by low rocks, for the most part forested.

In the northernmost bend, the Vilva on the right receives the Bolshaya Myasnaya River and becomes full-flowing and swift. From the tributary, a rift immediately begins, which stretches to the village of Korostelevka. There are a lot of stones in the channel, underwater and surface, look carefully. Five kilometers fly by unnoticed, "houses of the village of Korostelevka appear on the left bank (there is no store). If you wish, you can go from here to the Basegi ridge, it will take two days. Opposite the village, the river Korostelevka flows into the Vilva.

Before a sharp turn on the right bank there is a convenient clearing for the camp. Barracks once stood here, now they are gone. Be sure to stop and look around the interesting rapids. It consists of two cascades. The first series of stones is located in front of the turn. Water overflows through them and strongly hits the right bank into a small rock that goes into the water. Further, a calm stretch stretches for 250-300 m. At the new turn, again underwater and surface stones, this is the second threshold, it is not visible from the water.

First, you can go in three ways: near the left bank through the stones - this is a safer path; in the center of the river, just make sure that the current does not beat you to the right rock; you can also cross the main stream from the right bank to the left, but this is dangerous in high water. The second threshold is better to pass along the left bank, if the water permits. On the right bank there is a shoal and stones. The threshold passes into the shyvera up to the left tributary of the Shchegravatko River.

Stop at the mouth of the Basezhny stream. Below are rifts with stones sticking out of the water. For 7 km the Vilva flows south to the rocks on the left bank called Oblique Plate. There is a shiver near them, the passage is good here.

Having taken in the Upper Koldovaty stream, Vilva makes a big bend. After it, stop on the right bank. Here is a comfortable clearing, it is surrounded by an arched mountain with a bare top. Opposite there was once a village, behind it beautiful ridge-shaped rocks are visible from behind the forest.

Be sure to check out the river. From here, the Koldovatovsky rapids begin, they stretch to the Nizhny Koldovaty stream (on the left). Directly opposite the clearing, a ridge of stones crosses the river, water passes through them.

Immediately after the left turn in the channel, \"pitfalls are randomly scattered, near them there are standing waves up to 1 m high. Here you need to maneuver along the riverbed from one bank to another. At the end of the threshold high waves in the center of the channel, go through them. Along the right bank, the water is calmer, but at the end, there is a drain from a stone slab (it is not visible from the water). There are many stones along the left bank, the depth is shallow. It's best to go downtown. After the rapids on the right bank comfortable spot for an overnight stay.

Further, the river is quite deep, even in summer, up to 70 m wide, the current is still fast. The river Izbnaya flows to the right, below on the right bank there is a low rock Upper Baran, the current carries directly to it, pass along the left bank.

There are three Morozovsky Islands 500 meters from the rock. First, swim with the right channel, it is always navigable. Opposite the island on the left bank is the Lower Baran rock, the right bank is steep with small rocks. After the first island, immediately row to the left bank. Swim either along it or between the islands. The right passage is initially wide, but at the exit narrows to 6 m, here it can be clogged with driftwood.

Vilva rushes to the south. To the right is a small rock Korchaga, below its island. Go around it on the right, the left duct is narrow and shallow. Then there is a long stretch, at the end of its island, a passage on the left. Behind the island on the right bank rises Sokolnaya Gora. On the left, low cliffs stretch for 300 m. Here is the non-residential village of the Palace, near it is a bridge across the river. Go under him carefully, he is not tall. Below the Palace, on the left, the Berezovka River flows in - on it in the last century, prospectors panned for gold.

Behind Berezovka, on the right bank, is the Maidan stone, cut in half by a stream. Below it, on the mountain, an old collapsed mine of gold miners is visible. You need a strong rope to see it.

To the left along the channel is a large Soldatova oxbow lake, along the right bank there are small rocks. Behind them on the high left bank you will see a raft. From it in the spring they dumped wood into the water. The village of Vilva is located right behind the dam.

settlement VILVA-g. CHUSOVOY. 80 km.

The lumberjack village of Vilva is located on both banks of the river. The right side is called Bor. There are shops in the village. From here you can take a passing car to the Pashnya station.

From the village, the river still flows north. Flow speed 0.5 m/sec. Soon the Bolshaya Porozhnaya River flows in from the right. Here the river failed to overcome the southern spurs of the White Spoy ridge and turned to the northwest, and behind the Malaya Porozhnaya river it deviates to the west and southwest. Here the last rapids on the Vilva begin.

The left bank is clayey, it is washed away by water, fallen trees stick out at the turns.

From Malaya Porozhnaya the river flows in a narrow canyon. The channel is flat, without stones, but with a large drop. Birch trees grew along the shore in place of the burnt forest. At the exit from the canyon, the end of the rapids.

Then Vilva crosses a ridge of rocks and overflows in two channels, skirting long island 2 km long. Pass through the right channel, here the Vilva receives the Tonchikha river. Behind the island, both branches merge, then the river splits again. It is necessary to swim along the left winding channel.

The river gradually turns to the southeast, passes two islands and makes a kilometer-long loop, in the northern part of which it receives the Ermachikha River. This is a good place to park.

The river then diverts sharply to the southwest. The right bank is swampy, low, the left is mountainous. On the right, the Bolshaya Shirokovka river flows in, followed by an island in the channel, go around it on the left. Near the island on the left bank is the uninhabited village of Krasny Ural. Below it, the river narrows to 80 m, the Bolshaya Nikitinka River flows in from the right.

The speed of the current of the Vilva increases, so the helmsmen must carefully watch the water and the banks. On the right, the Malaya Nikitinka River flows in, along the left bank there is a kilometer-long chain of rocks. Behind them, the river draws out a large loop and becomes narrower. There is a strong pressure on the right bank. Immediately after a sharp turn, you will see an island that you need to go around to the left. Behind it, the channel narrows again and again an island, it can be passed by any channel. On the left bank, rocks stretch for more than 2 km.

The river makes a smooth loop and rushes to the south. At the end of the second turn, the island, go around it on the right. Be careful here: behind the island there is a narrowing of the channel and a sharp turn. Stick to the right bank. The river flows in a narrow corridor among steep banks. Pass the next island by the left channel. The right bank became flatter. A significant tributary of the river Bolshaya Gremyachaya flows here.

Having passed the island, Vilva enters a straight two-kilometer green corridor. The flow rate has increased. On the left, the Vizhay River flows in, which is only slightly inferior to the Vilva in length. At the mouth of the Vizhay Island, pass it by the left channel. Here Vilva is crossed by the highway Chusovaya - Gremyachinsk. On the right bank, several houses from the now uninhabited village of Ust-Vizhay have been preserved. The river Subbotinka flows to the right, the phase behind it is an island, the passage is only by the left channel.

The right bank is high, the left one is gentle with water meadows, \"but gradually becomes steeper. Vilva makes a right angle turn. After 1 km, the island, followed by the river turns south. Two small islands will come across in the channel, opposite them, on the left, the Olenyok rock Behind it is a series of small islands, which you bypass on the left. The right bank is still steep, the Dyrovatikha River flows in from the left, followed by water meadows and the Dyrovatovka rock.Vilva makes the last sharp turn to the northwest.

In the bend, one after the other, two islands. The river spread wide, slowed down its run. The Belaya River flows to the left, below its mouth is the Belaya rock, behind it is an island, bypass it with the right channel. From here you can already hear the noise of electric trains. The river makes a smooth U-turn and approaches the railroad. Here is the site of the 13th km. From there you can go to Chusovoy.

And the water to the city is another 9 km. Vilva walks away railway and flows parallel to it. The right bank is swampy, on the left one can see here and there pioneer camps. To the right, already within the city, is the huge old woman Mingach. Buses run from the highway bridge to the railway station.

Having passed the oxbow, the Vilva flows into the Usva after 2 km. It is best to stop on the right bank immediately after railway bridge through Vilva. Kayakers can continue along the Usva, then along the right bank of the Chusovaya, climb up to the ferry. From here, it's within easy reach of the train station.

The entire territory of the Middle Urals is located in the taiga zone, and broad-leaved tree species are also found in the Urals. Rich and varied animal world The Middle Urals and the Urals are the land of birds and animals.

The Middle Urals is rightfully considered one of the interesting tourist areas. It is no coincidence that thousands of tourists from all over the Soviet Union come here every year.

Vilva

The Vilva River (translated from the Komi-Permian "new water") flows in the Perm Territory, begins in the area between the villages of Medvedka and Biser, and flows into Usva right in front of the city of Chusovaya, and only then into the Chusovaya River. The length of the river is 170 km. There are many rapids and rifts in the upper reaches. In the Perm Territory there are three more rivers of the same name (Deaf Vilva, Vilva - a tributary of the Yazva, Bolshaya Vilva - a tributary of the Kosva).

Vilva, about whom will be discussed on this page, there are several tributaries: Vizhay, Korostelevka, Bolshaya and Malaya Porozhny, and others. The Vilva River is the dirtiest in the Perm region, thanks to the mines, the waters of which color the river red-orange.

On the river approximately 7 km. above the mouth of the Vizhay, at the site of the gas pipeline running across the river, during spring floods, a rather dangerous drain appears, on which many rafters turned over.

Many people start rafting from Novovilvensky village. You can finish in the city of Chusovoy. The main sights of the river are rocks, they are less grandiose than on Chusovaya or Vishera, and the river is not of that scale.

Report on rafting on the river Vilva

Before the trip, I searched for a long time on the Internet for at least one report on the Vilva River, but to no avail. Therefore, I wanted to write, if not a report, then a pilot, but for objective reasons (read below), nothing came of this venture. Still, maybe someone will find something useful here.

For ethical reasons, the names of some participants in the campaign have been changed. Any coincidence with real people and events is accidental (or maybe not so random), but the events described below took place, and therefore ... It happened like this ...

It took us two days to get to the Vilva River, but this time seemed like an eternity to me. Company: Mars, Cook, Gingerbread Man, Vasya - everyone is equal in terms of selection, uncle Chernomor is with them (more precisely, not an uncle, but an aunt, that is, I, who obviously let the team down in size). However, first things first.

The idea to go to Vilva appeared in winter, when we, sitting in a dugout, discussed past exploits and dreamed of new trips. But dreams are dreams, but one should also decide on something real. The Ural with all its rivers remained real for us during the spring flood on the May holidays. Why Vilva? Yes, we just tried to get there last year, but it didn’t work out and we went to Vizhay. In addition, Vasya was on Vilva about 10 years ago (he has nostalgia, but he will be our guide). In general, the people hit themselves with their heels in the chest and shouted that they… crushed hedgehogs.

But that was in winter. In the spring, when it came to the point, the ardor of many diminished, and only three of us remained: Mars, Vasya and me. Three of us have two Salyut-3 kayaks. Naturally, with all the clothes, taking into account the dimensions of the men, we did not fit in one kayak, we had to urgently look for at least one more person. And here we are lucky. It turned out that two garny lads - Cook and Kolobok also want to go to the Urals and are looking for people. Yes! We have found each other! Now the trip will take place! It remained to solve only organizational issues.

And then, finally, the same Great Day of Departure came - April 27th.
In the morning I went to work to finish all the work there for the next 10 days. Naturally, there were more cases at work than I expected, and my backpack has not yet been packed! I come running from work in the late afternoon, at home everything is already upside down - this is Vaska trying to deal with all the junk and food. There is very little time left before the train, but we still have to get to the station. Vaska and I frantically rush around the apartment, constantly bumping into each other, trying not to forget some most necessary thing.

But now the backpack is complicated, or rather stuffed so that it almost bursts at the seams, we shove some remaining junk to Marseille, who calmly looked at this nightmare. I have a feeling that we still forgot exactly the most important thing. I'm trying to check everything again. Vasek yells and rushes to the door. There is nothing to do, mentally I say goodbye to that very necessary thing, the men put a backpack on me. Forward!

Arriving at the station, we listened to a portion of fair reproaches about our being late from Cook and Kolobok, and moved to the train, which had been standing for a long time, ready to take us to adventures. In fact, the word moved does not reflect what actually happened. We, trying to run, crawled, and not only heavy backpacks were to blame. Either one or the other constantly poured all sorts of bottles, cylinders, jars from the hands, which did not have enough space in the bag. But now the last 100 meters have been heroically overcome, things are thrown into the train, and finally you can relax.

Here it is the moment of parting - it stings eyes, a lump in the throat, and the soul is torn from sadness and delight from the upcoming journey. Mars' wife and friend Vasya came to see us off. We hugged goodbye, shed a tear and ... at 22.44 the train started moving. As soon as they stumbled into their type of compartment (a reserved seat car), all kinds of grub magically materialized on the table. This is how the soul of a Russian person is arranged: as soon as he got on the train, he immediately begins to eat and drink, even despite the late time. Well, everything is clear with us - the whole day there was no poppy straw in our mouths. There were so many things to do, there was no time left for food. And tired, respectively, not childish. Therefore, they did not stay long, sleep overcame everyone before we had time to drink and eat everything that we had in store for the road.

April 28
We woke up not so late, outside the window the sun was already shining with might and main, unfamiliar landscapes were rushing past. In short, wonderful Good morning. We still had half a day to go ... After washing and a light snack from yesterday's leftovers, life improved, and interest in what was happening around us appeared. Namely, they climbed out into the street at each parking lot, if it was longer than 2 minutes. Half a day flew by in a flash.

And now we are approaching the city of Perm. Dima is supposed to meet us here. We met him last year on Vizhay, and this year we want to throw ourselves at Vilva together. I was the last one to get out of the car. I decided to check if I forgot something. The picture that opened to my eyes struck me with its picturesqueness. In the middle of the platform, there was just a giant pile of our junk, on which someone was already sleeping, the rest, along with Dima (hooray, he did meet us) stood nearby.

Here it turns out our first loss - Marseille's points. In the car, and I checked everything, they were not there. We assumed that the goggles would not survive until the end of the trip, but so early ... Unfortunately, Dima and his company will not be able to join us until two days later. There are two options left: wait for them or meet somewhere on the river. We choose the second one, we don't want to lose two days. Perm, of course, plainly failed to see.

The train to Chusovoy was packed with tourists. But who bothered? Your own brother! On the train, as rare inclusions, there were also passengers who had nothing to do with tourism, however, everyone treated them with respect, as well as each other, no one interfered with anyone. We arrived in Chusovoy in the evening. A train to the station Teploya Gora will be only early in the morning. It looks like we're in for a delightful night at the station. Oh those train stations! Full of tourists and homeless people. The small (for such a large number of applicants) room of the waiting room was completely filled. The apple has nowhere to fall, let alone the homeless.

We decided not to get into the general crowd, but comfortably settled down on the street in front of the main facade. While on the Perm train, we met Andrey from Izhevsk. He also went to the Urals with a group of pioneers. They took out a guitar, sang, and so sincerely that they gathered around the listeners from the train that had stopped here for a while and tourists from the station. But the idyll was short-lived. Well, the servants of order do not like it when people feel good. They flew like flies to jam and, of course, got to the bottom of the performers, like what are we making noise here? I wonder if we don't let the trains sleep? Even public opinion, which was entirely on our side, did not help. The law enforcement officer was determined to pick someone up, and his choice fell on Vaska.

But you can’t take Vasya with your bare hands, he knows the laws! "Now I'll unlace my kayak, and you'll have to describe each stringer! And without it, you have no right to take me away." I feel it's time for us to say our weighty word. We politely explained to the uncle policeman that we would not let Vasya go alone, that we would have to take all of us along with all our clothes. As a result of this skirmish, they agreed on a world one: we sing a little quieter, and the authorities leave us alone. No one really bothered us anymore, life got better. I didn’t have enough strength to sit up to the end and, having grabbed the foam, I went to the waiting room to look for a place to sleep. All more or less good and bad places were occupied, I had to sit near the column next to the aisle, however, I was so tired that I didn’t care much.

I woke up early, early because of the feeling that something was interfering and really ... On my foam, the three of us slept, somehow moving almost to the very aisle. On one side, Vasek crouched, and on the other, trying to somehow fit on the free pieces of foam, Marseille was lying around. They seem to have just finished their gatherings. It began to get light outside and I went to see what was going on there. While I was washing my face and drinking coffee, it was time to wake up. The station stirred slowly. The train was again packed, again several hours to go. Somewhere the guitar was broken (the neck was broken off) and stuffed into the case in this form, it looked more than sad. All and sundry made fun of her.

The station "Teplyaya Gora" met with cold and dank wind. Not a fig is warm, the dubak is creepy here! There are no cars, or rather they are, but either very expensive (we did not expect so much), or they are transporting groups with whom they seem to have agreed in advance. Vaska and I went to the village to look for a car and buy food (we forgot chocolate, spices and mayonnaise at home - here it is a necessary thing), we bought food, the search for transport did not give any results. While we were walking, the guys found a car, but because we were wandering around the village at that time, we had to let her go. Bad luck. The station gradually emptied, leaving only two groups, one of which was ours.

There are three options on the topic of what to do: 1) wait until tomorrow, when trucks arrive again, but I didn’t want to stand next to the village; 2) go to the Koiva River, which is flowing a hundred meters from here, but will we really give up so easily and again not get to Vilva, especially since we agreed to meet Dimka's company there; 3) go to the track to catch a truck, and at the same time discuss the first two points properly, which we did.

The truck is not caught, the coconut does not grow (cold). It's cold for us too. We lit a fire, got a snack. At this time, the guys finally found a car, we need to load things. It's cold, the truck is open, even the fact that we sit like herrings on top of each other doesn't help. We are shaking along such potholes, which not every tarantass will pass through. Thirty kilometers through such a "road" one wheel bursts. Apparently we overloaded the machine. Somehow we got to the village of Medvedka, where there is at least some chance to repair.

Two hours have passed, and the end-edge of the repair is not in sight. And we would have had to spend the night here if another truck had not arrived, into which we immediately loaded. When we got to Novovilvinsk, it was already getting dark. Things were thrown into one heap, while they were raking and dragging their things, it turned out that they had lost a life jacket (the only one in our entire company), a ladle was broken, and the lantern was also beyond repair. And around the place of unloading, I found many parts from our kayak: a lock, a stringer and even a piece of keelson. Already in the dark we set up tents, cooked grub and chatted a little with our fellow travelers, exchanged addresses. The night is clear and it looks like it will be freezing.

April 30
When we woke up, the sun was shining with might and main, but it was chilly. The water in the boiler is frozen through, and it already smells not of frost, but of real frost! Perm tourists got up a long time ago and by this time they had practically packed their catamarans. Apparently we'll be the last to leave here, but it doesn't bother anyone. They wanted to cook a hodgepodge for breakfast, but then it turns out that all the hodgepodge was broken on the way. Oh, I should have put it in a plastic bowl. After breakfast, we started assembling the ships.

The Permians were already sailing, but before that they handed us our rescue, lost yesterday. Thank you! The spasik was given to me as the only member of our team on which it was fastened. The Permians left, we waved our hand after them, it is unlikely that we will be able to catch up with them. Excited groups of tourists began to swim past. Some moored, lit a fire, dried. Naturally, curiosity got the better of us and we went to find out what happened to them. Everything turned out to be both simple and scary. They threw themselves higher on Hops, and something terrible was happening there: a strong current plus stones and blockages. Even catamarans broke down there, and kayaks sank just at once. There was no group that got out of there without loss (fortunately, everyone was alive).

Finally, all things are linked to the cut, done latest photos before sailing, the knees treacherously tremble. The catamaran starts first. The current is strong, but the river is not too difficult yet, although I was once covered by a standing rampart. I squealed with delight, but Vasya said that these were still flowers, and then the trees would be twice as large. I figured it out and decided that we would go through them. In fact, the river from a kayak is perceived quite differently than from a catamaran. Gone a little, tk. the sun was already setting. We stood on the right bank. A bit low, but there is a sea of firewood, and the place is not as bad as it first seemed. They made pancakes with "Uralsky" salad for delicious (just came up with). The guitar was repaired, but it is still impossible to play it, we have fun with bikes.

1st of May
Happy holiday! Today it was decided to reach the Dive threshold, and after it, get up and do a day's work. Vasya warned that Dive would be after the bridge. There are no difficulties so far, except for small rollers and shivers. We go without straining, we certainly won’t miss the bridge. And here is the bridge! We moored to it on the right bank, rested,. It's time to move on. We passed under the bridge to the right span, so as not to accidentally catch something. After the bridge, a strong stream flows from the right bank, we took it from a distance for the threshold. With a strong desire, you can ride, but the kayak will definitely die. There is a big slope, stones, and there is no catch at the place where the stream flows into the Vilva, the current immediately carries it further. And further on the right is a pouring stone with a barrel, and on the left there are shafts. We went through the center, and the kat tried to catch both the barrel and the shafts.

Actually, it didn't look like a threshold. Maybe it got flooded. The water level is very high. Then where are the shafts promised after the threshold. It also flooded. These thoughts did not leave us until we saw the remains of the second bridge. So this is the bridge that Vasya had in mind! We walked carefully, closer to the left bank, otherwise you could break here, which happened to the guys who caught us behind the bridge. After this bridge, we really pretty soon almost flew into the threshold, which appeared around the right turn. We barely managed to moor in the nearest bushes on the right bank. Here, in general, it is necessary to roam and inspect the threshold along the right bank.

The door was full of tourists. Some were riding. But there was none! kayaks. Either they were all broken on Khmely, or they simply don’t go here on kayaks! It did not add joy to us, on the contrary, a bad feeling appeared in the stomach. After the inspection, we decided that we would have to go into the barrels and the first and second stages. We won’t have time to row out to calmer (if I may say so) water near the left bank, there is not enough space for acceleration. I also did not want to climb on the stones on the right.

Our loaded catamaran went through all this without any problems. But on the other hand, a cat of other tourists from Perm almost rushed. Having seen enough, Vasya shot a rescue (just pass the threshold) from the guys from the white catamaran. Actually, of course, it would not hurt to have a helmet and a neoprene hydra, but oh well, let's warm ourselves with what we have. Everyone was waiting for the show - when our canoe would go. And we went, and not just went, but rushed with all our foolishness in order to have time to turn around and accelerate at least a little.

They entered the barrel correctly, but it turned out to be very tough, it didn’t work right away and we immediately paid for it. The kayak immediately lagged behind and, theoretically, at that moment we should have swerved. But with the next friendly stroke, we turn the kayak with our nose and exit the barrel. It's like you've been training all your life. Then a series of shafts, the second stage - a barrel, but there was time to accelerate in the shafts and the second barrel passed easily. Then a chalk to the right bank on the ramparts, which seemed to us calm water after all this.

According to Marcel's story (he took pictures), after our passage, the people breathed a sigh of relief: Gone! They say it went well. While the water was poured out (a full kayak, despite the apron), no one was left on the threshold, the show ended, everyone took off and left. For some reason, we didn’t want to ride, we decided not to dry ourselves, but to walk a little more and find a good parking lot. They didn’t know what they were staring into ... Immediately after the left turn, standing ramparts began. They were not just big, but huge! I suspect that some were about 2-2.5 meters. Yesterday Vasya promised me that they would be twice as large as we came across, but not five times!

As they flew in there, the only thing left was to row to the point of stupor. The kayak was thrown, once it was just set with a candle. Before my eyes only the sky and foam. How they did not keel - one goblin knows. Twice the water was drained from the kayak (this is with an apron). Extreme chalka on shafts has become the norm for us. Sometimes it seemed that everything had passed, and then it all started again. It’s good for ours on the kat: they swayed, shook - sheer pleasure! They just give such shafts. And as I saw that left bank with two patches of dry land for tents, and an iron booth with a stove (apparently the winter abode of hunters), I refused to go any further. It’s just that physical strength was no longer enough, if you get caught by something else like that, I won’t rake it out. True, Vasya said that this would not happen again, and that was good, otherwise my nerves were already on edge.

May 2
The day was random. We crawl out of the tent in the morning, and Cook and Kolobok are already drunk by the fire sitting, you see, it became cold for them in the morning! Yesterday they decided to use an iron box. In the evening they heated it up (the heat is like in a bathhouse, but at least things dry), and by morning it had all completely cooled down. On this day, of course, they did not go anywhere.

May 3
Today we must go until evening, otherwise we will not have time to complete the route. Vasya said that we had already passed all the most interesting things and there should not be anything more serious ahead, but we didn’t have time to go a little, as we again fell into large shafts, then another. Well, as much as possible. My strength is running out, my hands are cramping, I can’t hold the oar, but I have to row, I can’t get anywhere. Something bad appeared ahead. I refused to go there. We are kayaking along the shore. Plot 100 meters of very large shafts, drain with a barrel.

In principle, it is passable and generally weaker than what we have already passed. But, either my nerves passed, or the inner voice really sensed something. Moreover, we again only had one saved for the two of us, there are no hydras or helmets, God knows where the catamaran is, and in the kayak, instead of an unsinkability tank, there is a bowler wrapped in a bag with the remains of porridge. On the one hand, I regret that we did not go, but on the other hand, most likely, we did the right thing. And then calm water, spills and a constant strong headwind (well, at least warm).

I made the mistake of not putting on sunscreen. In front of the village, they ran aground, almost dodged, they thought that they had broken through the kayak, but they were lucky. After the village, we went forward a little and decided to wait for our people in a large clearing. And in the depths of the clearing one could see tourists, and we went to get acquainted. In the same clearing, they changed into dry clothes and took off their "skirts". Vasya also removed the apron. But in vain! Ahead of us was another area with large, chaotic ramparts. How did they get it! And the wind too! There, again, they almost squirmed. And it's good that Vasya noticed this side shaft in time and managed to tilt the kayak. Gone!

May 4th
We were lucky with the weather, sunny. It was even warm tonight, and during the day I go in a bathing suit (until the sun hides behind a tree). Dima and the company never caught up with us, but new acquaintances appeared. Today they, passing by, stopped by to visit us, and left a teal (duck) as a gift. Vasya, to celebrate, confused mayonnaise with condensed milk and for a long time was indignant that it did not dissolve in coffee. The question of what to cook for dinner is solved. Duck soup. And a bath!

While I was cooking the soup, everyone went to heat the bathhouse. The bath turned out great! There was only one question: when did we manage to get so dirty. After the bath, I felt like I was reborn. And for dinner, an unusually tasty, simply divine soup was waiting for us. In the evening they sang quiet soulful songs. And at night, while no one saw, I painted the catamaran with hearts.

5 May
Today is a full day again. Our new acquaintances from Perm tourists offered to leave the route together. Their 6th, that is, tomorrow a bus picks up from the bridge, which they kindly offered to use for us. So you have to work like galley rowers. We have already rested, although the muscles still hurt. There are no more cramps in the hands and, I hope, will not be. Too bad the trip is over. Cook and Kolobok are wondering who painted their catamaran, me or Perm tourists.

Re going. The sky in the morning was covered with a milky-white veil, while it is warm. Today, nothing prevented me from exchanging with Mars, now it's my turn to rest. But I don’t want to sit like a parrot just like that, I change places with Cook, who is already fed up with rowing. By lunchtime, the weather began to deteriorate, clouds came up, a cold wind blew. After some time, fog thickened, so much so that nothing could be seen at a distance of an outstretched oar, and it began to rain. The current is quite strong, so rowing, as an unfashionable activity, was discontinued. From the oars on the catamaran they built a wigwam, covered it with an awning.

In this form, we caught up with the Permians and our kayak with Vasya and Mars. They had already eaten on the beach. The rain intensified. In order not to get lost in the fog, we chained 4 kata. The kayak, like a more manoeuvrable ship, was spinning nearby, sometimes approaching our structure. By pure chance, I was unlucky, and I ended up on the leftmost pylon, sometimes I had to row a little, and once I even hooked a small barrel, which, of course, only my pylon hit. It seems my motto should be "Not a day in the dry!".

So we slowly reached the treasured bridge. We moored first on the left bank, but decided to still stand on the right behind the bridge. Here is the end of the hike. It was a good hunt! Tomorrow a bus will take us all from here, but for now we need to take care of the roof over our heads. They wanted to stand on gravel, but Kolobok's attention was attracted by grass abounding around. It's softer on her! He praised this grass so much that we fell for it, making a fatal mistake.

Half an hour later, all the grass was a continuous dirty mess champing underfoot. For some reason, the gingerbread man unwound around the tent toilet paper in the manner of a wolf cub, and to the question of what he was doing, we received an exhaustive and worthy answer: "I'm waiting for the dry season to begin!" No one began to move the bivouac to another place, they simply stopped paying attention to the dirt. Vasya and I went to visit the Permians. Chat, sing songs. After wonderful good gatherings, we crawled away to sleep. Despite being tired and bad weather the mood was great. And the rain keeps pouring...

the 6th of May
It rained non-stop all night. And the tent did nothing, withstood. It was dry inside. In the morning the sun was shining on us. A little sad and sorry that it all ended. But if it's a pity, then the campaign was a success. We were going for a long time, but by the time the bus arrived we were almost ready. A few hours drive with a visit to a passing shop. We were in Perm two hours before the train. Our gratitude knew no bounds, but, unfortunately, we could not thank our saviors in any way. We had nothing but warm words. After saying goodbye, they began to think about how to live on.

We bought tickets, and we only had paper $ 1 left. How we exchanged it is a separate story (at the same time, we looked more than suspicious). With this money we bought bread with sausages and ate it right away. Pleasant satiety never came. And then there was the train.

P.S. Good river! Delivered a lot thrill. For a kayak like "Salyut" there is almost a limit of possibilities. About the equipment… With such a high water level, helmets are optional (at least the lack of helmets was the least of my worries), but the pocket does not pull the reserve. Neoprene hydra is very desirable (if you go by kayak), don't care on a catamaran. Well, you need a life jacket! (Even though we never needed it). And it's also very good to have floatable neoprene slippers (feet get wet and cold all the time in a kayak, and on the shore with a chalk). Be sure to wear an apron and skirts! And it would be nice to have at least some unsinkability containers in a kayak. There is no fountain with parking, but a more or less suitable place (depending on the degree of fatigue) can be found, like on any other Ural river ...

How to get to the river Vilva

The river begins in the area between the villages of Medvedka and Biser. First locality on the route - the village of Novovilvensky, although it is practically not inhabited. There was once a railway nearby. New Vilva station, but it was dismantled long ago. It is from this village that it is advisable to start a journey along the river.

From the side of Yekaterinburg, the village can be reached by road from Kachkanar, or from the Teplaya Gora station, through the village of Medvedka. You can only get there by SUV.

For extreme people, I can advise you to go to the intersection of the road from Medvedka with the Khmeli River, and start rafting from there. The hops are quite small, narrow, there are a lot of fallen trees, so you have to walk along the river a lot. Before its confluence with Vilva about 3 km.
