Essentials for travel. List of things needed for a successful trip. Things and various garbage that you can not take, for example

At first glance, packing a suitcase on the road, especially on vacation, is very simple. But to accommodate a few new dresses to conquer everyone at the beach party, and two or three pairs of sandals, cosmetics, swimwear, and warm clothes, if it suddenly gets colder, is very problematic. Our tips will help you simplify your journey.

1. Decide what to take with you

The answer to this question is in the purpose of your trip. If this beach holiday on the sea, then you need to fit light clothes and a couple of evening dresses, and if you are going to sightseeing tour, where you have to walk a lot on foot - stock up on more comfortable things. On the eve of departure, check the weather forecast at the place where you are going camping . It may happen that a sudden storm has spoiled the weather near the sea, and an unbearable heat has set in in the always cool town.

Cloth. Before you put everything in a suitcase, lay out all the things on the bed and look at them from the side. All the clothes that you take with you should be perfectly combined with each other. Each T-shirt should be in harmony with shorts, jeans, and with a skirt, and with shoes.

Shoes.Take some shoes with you, no more than three pairs. The usual set is sneakers (sneakers), sandals and beach slippers.

Cosmetics.Everyone has their own approach here. But you should not carry too much cosmetics with you. Take your favorite skin care product with you. It is unlikely that you will actively use decorative cosmetics, especially on the beach. If you are going to a restaurant or night club, mascara and lipstick will be enough. Toothpaste, sunblock, deodorant, shampoo can be bought on the spot. In some hotels, a set of hygiene products are provided free of charge.

Do not forget that if you are flying on an airplane, then all liquids (except for mandatory medicines) must be checked in as baggage. You can take no more than 100 ml of liquid with you on the plane.

Decorations.It is undesirable to take expensive jewelry with you on a trip. They can attract the interest of robbers to you, and you will worry all the time so that they do not get lost. If you can not refuse jewelry, choose jewelry.

Medicines.Take pills and medicines with you. In many countries, medicines may require a doctor's prescription. If you have a chronic condition, take several packs of your medications. In the first aid kit should be painkillers and antipyretics, poisoning and allergy medicines, a kit for treating wounds, insect repellents and in case you burn out in the sun.

Documentation.Be sure to check the availability of all documents before leaving: passports, tickets, bank cards, documentation child, if those with children. Make copies of your passport and tickets.

Technique.No one now goes on vacation without a camera, laptop or tablet, video camera, phone. When collecting your equipment, do not forget about chargers, flash drives, adapters.

2. Pack your suitcase properly

Twist linen and socks into a tube and put them in shoes: this way you will save space and save the shape of the shoes. You can also put watches or glasses in shoes. Pack things carefully. Closely stacked items will not move during transport and will be better preserved.

T-shirts and sweatshirts also occupy less space if they are not folded, but rolled up. So they wrinkle less. Between the clothes, you can put paper or bags so that it does not rub during the trip, but slips. That way things will be less damaged.

Don't put all your makeup tubes in one place. Roll it up carefully and put it in different pockets. Also, do not put shoes in pairs, but each in a separate bag in different places.

Lay the straps and wires along the side of the suitcase - so they take up less space than when folded.

Pants will not wrinkle so much if you put them on the bottom of the suitcase, and place rollers on top from T-shirts and towels. Be sure to remove change from your pockets so as not to damage the fabric.

You can buy shoe care products or a cleaning roller on the spot. But in case of unforeseen situations, take a needle and thread with you.

It will also be useful to take a sleep mask and earplugs (if you come across noisy neighbors in the hotel).

3. Decide what to do with the keys to the apartment if you are going on vacation with the whole family. Take them with you, or give them to your relatives (feed the cat, water the flowerpots). Consider this question in advance, do not leave everything to the last moment.

4. Do not forget an umbrella, especially if you are going on a sightseeing tour.

5. In hand luggage, you should take napkins, a pen with a notepad, water (if you are not flying on an airplane), snacks (nuts, dried fruits, chocolate), a book or magazine, if you are traveling with a child - games for him.

H emodan collected. Don't forget your good mood and happy holidays!

Airplane socks. I read it in some magazine a long time ago, tried it, and now we fly only in them. The bottom line is to take off your shoes on the plane, and so that the legs don’t blow and the neighbors don’t smell - put on fluffy spacious cozy socks.

Ordinary socks. Mentioned for the sake of chips - in small trips I usually try to take socks that are close to the dying stage, and throw them away on a trip without regrets. Saves not weight, but volume.

UPD this should have been at the very beginning, but I didn't realize it. And because of this, some of the commentators had a clear misunderstanding. So I am correcting:

This list is for two adults, Europe (city \ beach), suitcase - 1 pc, I don’t know the size of the suitcase in centimeters (if necessary, I can measure it), but I know that if necessary, I take it as hand luggage in most airlines. The weight turns out to be decent - more than 10 kg, usually in the region of 12-15, this is along with clothes (which I deliberately did not indicate on the list). Also, I didn’t indicate mandatory things like “money-documents-insurance” in the list, because the post, as it were, is not about that :-) In 95 percent of cases we check in a suitcase, so I was not puzzled by the issue of optimization for hand luggage. But with some effort, I think that you can push it by hand, with the exception of a knife and a nail file.

Not mine, but I take out interesting from the comments just in case:
- disinfectant spray / gel for hands
- thin plastic raincoat
- compact ashtray
- thread-needles (travel set)
- Activated carbon - ? (unienzyme, as I understand it, it already contains, as I understand it)
- aftershave balm/lotion

Going on vacation with the whole family or traveling alone is one of the most pleasant and long-awaited events that give us joy and new experiences. But the preparation for the trip is a boring, troublesome and painstaking process. But the success of the trip depends directly on how correctly and carefully we prepare for it.

↓ CONTENT OF THE ARTICLE ↓

Making a list of what to bring on a trip can seem like a long and tedious task. Given the eternal lack of time, no long lists do not want to compose. But believe me detailed list things on a trip will ultimately save you time and, more importantly, nerves and health. A trip list will allow you not to forget anything and arm yourself against all sorts of unforeseen and unpleasant situations that may arise on this trip. The recommendations in this article on compiling a list of essentials for a trip are universal - both for traveling in Russia and for a trip abroad.

Make a list of necessary things for the trip and start packing preferably in advance! Do not leave fees for the last days!
It is advisable to take with you such a set of things that Do not fill your bag or suitcase to capacity:
  • You will probably want to bring something from your trip, for example: souvenirs, gifts, wine, etc. If you have free space in your suitcase, you can put your purchases in a suitcase.
  • Consider the possibility of a separate luggage space for shopping, for which it is worth taking with you a padded or foldable zipped bag. Such a bag will always come in handy when traveling, shopping, etc.
  • A folding bag will help you out if there is an overweight, and you need to quickly put aside some of the things from the suitcase.
  • With the force of "tamping" the suitcase, you can easily ruin, severely crumple or break your things, or even break the zipper of the suitcase.
  • It is possible that you will be asked to open your suitcase at customs. If it's stuffed too tight, you'll have to struggle in a rush and uncomfortable environment, stuffing things back in after security checks.

How do I make a travel list?

↓ PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ↓

I always make a detailed list of the necessary things for the trip for each trip. Or rather, it is absolutely not necessary to write a list of necessary things on a trip each time, it is enough to do it once a day. in electronic format, and then only make a copy of the list for the next trip and make changes and additions. I keep lists on a trip in Excel, where it is convenient to work with tables.

In Excel, it is very convenient to highlight cells with color. When I start to pack my suitcase and bags, I do it with the laptop turned on and all the time I look at the list for the trip, which I can also adjust as I collect things. What I have already put, for example, as in the photo above, in hand luggage, I highlight in green, what is not yet in red. This is very convenient, since it is enough to glance at the list, and you can immediately see what has not yet been collected. If you strictly follow the list and use color highlighting, then it is almost impossible to forget something.

After the trip, I look through the list again and write comments in the column on the right - what was useful and what was not, how much and why it was necessary to take, maybe some thing turned out to be inconvenient, etc.

I have two types of lists for a trip - on warm weather and for cold weather.

Benefits of an electronic travel list:
  • No need to make a list every time. You can make changes to the same file or copy it.
  • Making notes on the results of the trip, you can from time to time improve the list necessary things for the trip, refusing to do without what you can do without or not very convenient, and, conversely, including the most functional and convenient things in the list.
  • Convenient to pack your suitcase or a bag by opening the list on the computer screen and highlighting in different colors what is already in the suitcase, and what else needs to be put or purchased.
  • Following this list, you never forget anything!

What to take in hand luggage on a plane

If you are flying, I recommend that you make a separate list of what you will have in hand luggage . These are usually the most important things, so I advise you to take this list very carefully. Moreover, there are certain restrictions on what can be carried in hand luggage and what not.

In your hand luggage you put things that you will need take with you at the last moment e.g. house keys and mobile phone. The list will help you not to forget anything important.

Documents, money

Let's start with the main one. This, of course, documents and money.

  • Identification document ( passport). On my last trips, I took and internal passport. So I began to do after a trip to Israel, where passport control I had to show my internal passport too. If I didn't have it, I don't know how it would have ended.
  • Driver license(if you plan to rent a car on a trip).
  • travel document ( ticket).
  • printed hotel reservation.
  • Insurance policy.
    ↓ PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ↓

    In addition to the policy itself, before the trip I draw up and take it with me in paper form instructions where it is described the sequence of my actions in the event of an insured event:

    1. All ways of communication with the service center.
    2. All information that I will need to provide when calling service center: name of the insurance company, policy number, last name, first name of the Insured, policy expiration date, territory of insurance, contact phone number of the Insured, etc. I copy all this information from a specific insurance policy so that it is on a separate sheet. If something happens, I will read everything from a piece of paper, and not look for data in a panic. I know for myself that in a state of stress, you can forget the most obvious things, your phone number, for example.
  • Money. In what form to take money and how much depends on the particular trip.
    • Cash for current expenses (in the wallet).
    • Cash (principal, including emergency supplies, if any).
    • Bank cards.
I recommend doing it electronically and then print a list of all important phone numbers and other information that may be important for you on the trip:
  • Address and phone number of the embassy of the Russian Federation.
  • Phone number of the local rescue service and the police.
  • Phone number of your bank.
  • The phone number of the insurance company and the number of the insurance policy.
  • Mobile and landline phones of relatives and friends.
  • Access data to accounts in social networks and other Internet services important to you.

This list should be with you at all times.

You will know that all important contacts are at your fingertips at all times. If necessary, you can quickly use them, and not search through all the luggage. In addition, it may happen that you will not have access to the phone, the Internet, etc. Just imagine a situation when you are in another country and you don’t have a phone with all contacts and passwords (broken, lost, stolen) , and there is only the opportunity to go to an Internet cafe. You can access the Internet, but you don’t remember passwords, for example, from social network accounts through which you can contact friends and family. Based on this, make a list of everything you need to have with you in paper form. A sheet of paper will not be discharged or broken, and you will know that all the necessary information is always with you.

I also advise email this list to yourself(file if you have it in electronic form or scan if the list is only on paper) so that you have it in electronic form too.

Be sure to do photocopies of all documents (passport, insurance policy, driver license, hotel reservation, tickets). During the trip, you should not carry your passport with you all the time, unless of course you have a reliable place where you can leave it, for example, in a hotel safe. Carry with you, if possible, not the original, but a photocopy of your passport and all documents. So you reduce the risk of losing or stealing your passport. For example, when I lived in rented apartment in Cairo, I left my passport at the apartment when I left, and a copy was always with me.
Scan all documents and email them to yourself. In the passport, scan all pages, not just the first one, so that the visa history is visible. If necessary, you can quickly use copies of documents from the Internet.

Where to keep money and documents while traveling

  • PASSPORT:
    • Handle your passport carefully- to be in a foreign country without a passport, it is not necessary to lose it, it is enough to get it dirty, wet or tear it.
    • Passport cannot be kept together with money!
    • The passport cannot be kept together in valuable things , such as a camera or camera that thieves target first.
    • Do not put your passport in places in your clothing or luggage where it can easily fall out or be easily reached.
    • If you go out into the city leave your passport at the hotel, carry only copies of your passport and documents with you.
  • MONEY:
    • Don't keep all your money in one place!
    • If you think you will not be able to leave money at a hotel or other accommodation, purchase a special wallet for storing money. They are different types. When preparing for a trip, find out which body bag will be most convenient for you.
    • In the city:
      • Carry only the amount for daily expenses and a bank card (if you use it to pay for purchases or withdraw money).
      • If you do not often use a bank card, then keep it separate from money for current expenses.
      • Leave the main amount at the hotel in the safe or in the apartment, if it is reliable enough.
      • Part of the amount can be kept in the hotel or in the apartment in the main luggage.
    • On the road:
      • On the road, keep the bulk of the money on you, part of the money can be kept in the main luggage if it is not supposed to be checked in somewhere and you can see it all the time.
      • If on the road you put money in a city backpack or bag, then in no case let it out of your sight, do not leave, for example, a bag on the bus seat if you need to go out even for a few minutes.
      • If you are going to sleep on a bus on a long haul, put your bag or urban backpack so that they cannot be taken without disturbing you - put your hand through the straps of the backpack or into the handle of the bag, etc.

Electronic devices

  • Mobile phone, smartphone or tablet. USB cable and adapter or other charger, battery for charging. Headphones.
    Don't forget to recharge your mobile phone balance before the trip!
  • Laptop, battery and laptop charger.
  • Photo or video camera. Batteries and charging device to them, as well as memory cards.
  • If you are planning to rent a car, then navigator, into which the necessary maps must be loaded in advance.
Always being able to charge your mobile phone while traveling is the most important thing! If the camera or laptop runs out of power, this can also be extremely unpleasant, but being without a connection is much worse. The USB cable or charger can be damaged or forgotten somewhere. That's exactly what happened to me. Finding a replacement for a failed accessory in another country can be very difficult (if not impossible), long and expensive. In addition, for example, I also use a USB cable to connect my phone to a laptop as a modem. That is, in fact, the success of my trip completely depends on the serviceability of the USB cable - the ability to charge the phone and work on a laptop, so I always now take spare USB cable with adapter. It weighs very little, does not take up space, but its presence is very important.
Recommend to take on a trip(especially in independent travel longer than the standard ten days or two weeks) spare SIM card from another carrier. For example, if you have a main MTS number, take a Megafon SIM card ready for roaming with you. Something can also happen with the SIM card, or there may be problems with a particular operator. This recommendation of mine is based on my own experience.
↓ PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ↓

During my trip to Jordan, the MTS SIM card, through which I kept in touch with my relatives in Moscow, stopped working. For the first time I noticed that the connection was lost, in highlands. At first, I decided that it was just that the network did not catch in the mountains. But then it turned out that the mountains had nothing to do with it, the SIM card simply did not work. south beach resort town Aqaba is located just 10 km from the border with Saudi Arabia. When I was on south beach, having already come to terms with the failure of the SIM card, suddenly a network appeared and SMS began to arrive “welcome to Saudi Arabia”, but as soon as I left the beach, the SIM card died again and did not work until I left.

In Moscow, at the MTS office, it turned out that the SIM card is outdated and no longer supports new communication standards. And this happened not earlier and not later, namely during my journey!

From this adventure of mine follows a recommendation to check before traveling in a communication salon whether your SIM card meets current standards, especially if you have been using it for a long time. Maybe it's time to replace it with a new one, which will be done in the cabin in just a few minutes.

Information about where you are going

  • Cards.
  • Guides.

Portable technology

  • Road iron.
  • I take a portable oral irrigator with me.

Cloth

To save space and weight, choose clothes that are easy to match. For example, several t-shirts and tank tops that can be worn with shorts, trousers or skirts.

Below I present common list clothes and shoes. For your trip, the list of things will be more specific depending on the season, climate, country, type of holiday.

  • Outdoor/indoor clothing:
    • Outer/warm clothes:
      • Jacket, windbreaker.
      • Sweaters, sweaters, jumpers.
      • Headwear, scarf, gloves.
    • Trousers.
    • Shorts.
    • Blouses and T-shirts.
    • Skirts, dresses, sundresses.
    • Hats.
    • Belts and belts.
    • What to sleep in.
    • Home clothes.
  • Outdoor / indoor shoes:
    • Sports and comfortable shoes - sneakers, moccasins, etc.
      Do not take new shoes on a trip! You often have to walk a lot, and new shoes will almost certainly rub your feet. It is better to take on a trip already worn, comfortable shoes.
    • Shoes for going out.
    • Slates.
    • Slippers.
  • Linen.
  • Socks, tights.

I advise you before the trip, especially if you are going to some place for the first time and in the cold season, not just follow the weather forecast (this must be done), but chat on forums or social networks with people who have been or, better, live in the place where you are going. It’s not even necessary to spend time communicating if you don’t have much, just type “weather country forum” into the search box and read the information. Surely, weather issues in a particular country have already been discussed on the Internet many times.

At local climate there may be features that will not be obvious from the weather forecast and which you may not even be aware of:
  • Large difference between day and night temperatures.
  • Temperature difference in the valley and on the hill.
  • The difference in climatic conditions and temperatures in different parts of the country, even if we are talking about short distances.
  • Strong winds.
↓ PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ↓

For example, my trip to Israel in January. At first, I focused only on the weather forecast, where I looked mainly at the temperature and concluded that in Israel in January - like in Moscow in a cool summer. And I planned to take appropriate clothes. It's good that I still bothered to look for information on the forums. As a result, I found out that in January there is not summer there, but a real autumn with strong winds and rains. Autumn jacket and autumn boots are the most appropriate form of clothing. In reality, everything turned out to be generally severe - an icy wind in Jerusalem (the higher the mountains, the colder), heavy rains every day and everywhere hurricane wind in Netanya (what kind of umbrella is there - it will be broken right there!). It's good that it was cold in Moscow. Bringing a winter hat, a warm winter scarf and gloves turned out to be the most appropriate clothing for Israel in January. My fellow tour even envied me, and some had to buy hats in Jerusalem.

Personal hygiene, face and body care, cosmetics

  • Toothpaste and toothbrush.
  • Toothpicks.
  • Washcloth.
  • Soap and soap dish.
  • Shampoo and hair balm.
  • Towel (large and small).
  • Deodorant.
  • Shaving products.
  • Manicure set.
  • Combs.
  • Feminine hygiene products.
  • Toilet paper.
  • Face creams.
  • Hygienic lipstick or lip balm. If you are going to the beach, it is better to take a lipstick with UV protection.
  • Body balm.
  • Hand cream.
  • Decorative cosmetics in a cosmetic bag.

Food and cuisine

↓ PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ↓

The following four items I always take with me on any trip:

  • Boiler.
  • Mug
  • Tea spoon.
  • Tea bags.

This set helped me out more than once, it allows you not to depend on the presence or absence of the opportunity to drink something hot, you only need an electrical outlet. Even on a comfortable ferry during a cruise around the capitals of the Baltic. It turned out that it was very cold on the ferry, and a glass of tea costs at least 1.5 euros. This is where my boiler came in handy, it did not let me and my cabin neighbors freeze. Although at first I shoved it into the far corner of the suitcase - you can’t disgrace yourself with a boiler on cruise ship. If a mug of hot tea or coffee is always with you, then, believe me, all the inconveniences and problems will not seem so important and your mood will be better.

Miscellaneous

  • Notepad and pen.
  • Umbrella.
  • Folding knife (Keep in mind that a folding knife can only be carried in checked baggage, such items are not allowed in carry-on baggage).
  • Paper napkins and handkerchiefs.
  • Antiseptic wet wipes.
  • Threads and needles.
  • Shoe box.
  • Shoe care products.
  • Souvenirs from Russia for your possible new friends in another country.

first aid kit

We must not forget about the minimum set medicines(first aid kit), which will help you cope with a sudden illness both at the place of rest and during the move. Medicines to take with you are the topics of separate articles:

beach holiday

  • Swimsuit / swimming trunks. May be needed if you are not going to the sea, but plan to visit the pool or sauna.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Waterproof mascara and a special wash for such mascara.
  • Headdress.
  • Beach shoes.
  • Big towel.
  • Sunscreen/Sunblock.
  • Beach bag.
  • A small first aid kit in case of cuts, etc. on the beach.
  • Mask, snorkel, fins.
  • A mat or other padding on which to lie on the beach if it is not possible to use the sunbeds.

If the luggage is collected, it's time to think about what to take on a trip.

In order not to turn the fees before the trip into a real chaotic nightmare, you need to prepare in advance. Moreover, there are things that are not done a few hours before the trip.

What to take with you on a trip?

It is worth doing in advance (underline / add as necessary):
  • wash the clothes
  • buy medicines
  • make photocopies of documents
  • issue a bank card
  • exchange money for the desired currency
  • do manicure, pedicure, epilation, etc.
  • ask someone to feed the cat, water the flowers, etc.
  • make a list of things you need
That way you won't forget anything and you'll have time for everything.

Do not be lazy and make a basic list of what will come in handy on a trip, and you will use it more than once. A well-written plan will come in handy on every trip, it will only be necessary to supplement it due to the number of travelers and the climate.

Make the list as you like and understand. And we will show you the approximate content.

    • disposable plastic bags
Here is a rough list of what to pack for your trip and how to prepare for your trip. Underline / cross out what you need, add your own.

It remains to pack everything compactly, separating things for hand luggage and luggage.

Most travel, whether it's a vacation abroad, a planned business trip or an outing into nature, is like a multi-level quest. At first, fees, the road, local arrangements, entertainment or business, and then everything is repeated in reverse order, until the inevitable return ...

Experienced travelers say that solving current problems becomes much easier, and the rest is more pleasant if you know exactly what you take with you and what you leave at home.

Universal travel list

Drawing up a universal list of necessary things (having done it once, you can use it all the time) will save not only time, which is sorely lacking before the trip, but also nerves. Based on the main one, it is easy to create other toll instructions tailored to certain parameters: a specific route, climatic conditions, purpose of travel, etc. After all, the “equipment” for skiing will be somewhat different from what you need to take with you on a romantic trip, for example.

So, what to take with you on a trip, the list of the most necessary things:

  • documents (passport, international passport, insurance, driver's license, vaccination certificate, student ID, etc.);
  • tickets;
  • cash, payment cards;
  • guide;
  • notepad and pen, where they will also be written down important phones and addresses;
  • phone, camera or video camera;
  • tablet or laptop;
  • portable chargers;
  • hair dryer with comb;
  • things "to go out", home and for sleep;
  • outdoor, beach, shower shoes;
  • headdress for the season;
  • underwear suitable for the selected sets of clothes, socks;
  • cosmetics for care and decorative;
  • personal hygiene products (toothpaste / brush, cotton swabs, shower gel, shampoo, wet wipes, handkerchief, scissors and nail files, deodorant, toothpicks, razor, chewing gum, toilet paper etc.);
  • . You should take with you on vacation those that you take, if any. chronic diseases. And also just in case: lip balm, antispasmodics, antipyretic, antiallergic, motion sickness, activated charcoal (the body may not immediately adapt to a change in the type of water), iodine, patch, broad-spectrum antibiotic, ointment for burns and other skin problems;
  • small items such as thread with needles, mirror, travel iron, ear plugs, clothespins, adhesive tape, extension cord, book, folding knife with a corkscrew, small board game– can also be useful on vacation;
  • food that is allowed to be carried if a snack is planned on the way.
In the same list, you can write a “reminder” on the top line about some things that you should take care of before the trip. This is copying documents, buying currency, washing things, purchasing medicines, issuing bank cards and choosing a convenient international communication tariff. Also, consider watering the flowers as well.

What to take with you on vacation

If buying point #1 before going on vacation is a pharmacy, then point #2 is clothing stores, especially when traveling with children. You need to take panama hats and thick sweaters with you, even if warm days are predicted. So that your vacation at sea or in a sanatorium is not overshadowed by constant ironing, and when you get off the bus, the outfit does not look “chewed”, it is better to take with you on vacation only what does not wrinkle (or practically does not wrinkle).

Choose clothes that complement each other (like safari-style shorts to match a tank top, t-shirt, etc.) that are comfortable and have been worn at least once. The latter is especially true for shoes. After all, if it turns out on the spot that the fashionable sandals bought the day before rub your feet, you will have to buy new ones. And with these, either part immediately, or drag them back. And who needs "ballast"?
