Our expert in visiting the park was

What you need to know about a trip to Disneyland Paris?

The best time to go to Disneyland

The park is open seven days a week throughout the year. Disneyland Paris opening hours may vary depending on the closing time, in order to find out you need to check the closing map. The park almost always opens at the same time - at 10.00 Paris time (the difference with Moscow is 1 hour: if it is 10 am in Paris, then it is already 11 am in Moscow).

Autumn and winter are the best times to visit a Parisian park. The scenery at Disneyland in October, November, December and January is constantly changing, and the nearest holiday that can be interesting to meet here is Halloween. Luminous pumpkins, ghosts and witches will appear everywhere. And the best rides are frightening labyrinths and rooms of fear. Then come the large-scale New Year and Christmas festivities. The scenery will begin to change to firs decorated with toys, Santa Clauses, reindeer and other paraphernalia, it will be possible to ride “reindeer teams” with a breeze.

Remember that Russian holidays coincide with the holidays of the French guys, so the queues in the park accumulate much more. How to get on all the rides without a queue,

How to get to Disneyland

The amusement park is located 45 kilometers from the city, you can get to it on your own by ground metro RER (the route can be compiled on the official website). In this case, it is worth buying a pass for the red line. You can leave from Charles de Gaulle Etoile station (opposite Arc de Triomphe), Auber (landmark - the Grand Opera House), Chatelet-Les Halles, Gare de Lyon (Gare de Lyon), Nation ( national square), Gare de Lyon (railway station), follow to the station Marne-la-Vallee - Chessy, the train stops right near the entrance to the park. You can get there in 40 minutes and 8 euros.

Another option is to get to Disneyland by bus. The park itself offers a service such as a combined ticket: for 90 euros you buy an adult ticket and 80 euros for a child, while the Disneyland Paris Express bus will take you to the park and back, and the ticket will be the entrance.

From Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can take the TGV high-speed train. You can get there in 10 minutes and 29 euros, the destination is the Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy station.

But still, the most comfortable option is to negotiate a transfer with a guide, it will cost more, but it will save time and nerves. Ingrid offers a meeting from the airport and an escort to the park itself.

Where to stay near Disneyland: discounts promotions in hotels

In order not to overpay for a hotel, it is best to book rooms in advance, hotels no further than 3 km ask from 7-10 thousand rubles per person per day or in the park itself. Promotions are in the fall and a few days after the new year, the cost can be reduced to 30-50%. If you stay 10-14 km from the park, in Paris itself, you can find offers from 4 thousand rubles. per person per day. We still recommend staying in Paris itself, the journey is not long, you can save a lot on housing, and even see the city.

Disneyland admission price

The network often offers various ways to purchase tickets to the park, but we will describe only the most reliable ones. One common way is to buy tickets through the park's official website. They offer three types of tickets, which differ in cost and have restrictions: MINI, MAGIC and SUPER MAGIC by visiting time. MINI - does not give the opportunity to visit attractions on weekends and holidays, MAGIC is not valid on 12-15.08, 30.09, on weekends in October, November and December, 23.10-03.11, 25.12-05.01.18, SUPER MAGIC is closed on 21.10-05.11, on weekends in November and December, 25.12-05.01.18, SUPER MAGIC PLUS without restrictions.

Disneyland rides

Best:

Indiana Jones et le Temple du Peril (Adventureland)- your trailer will sweep at great speed through an abandoned castle somewhere deep in the jungle. Paradise for lovers of high speeds and steep turns!

Big Thunder Mountain (Frontierland)— a breathtaking trip to the bowels of an abandoned mine. The attraction itself is located on the island, and the entrance to it is on the shore. Peter Pan's Flight (Fantasyland) - Flying out of your bedroom window, Peter Pan's flying ship takes you over London and then into a bright star.

Buzz Lighter Laser Blast (Discoveryland)- an attraction based on the cartoon "Toy Story 2". Your task is to hit as many enemies as you can while sitting in a small controlled minecart with a toy laser gun. Star Tours (Discoveryland) is a virtual reality that will take you to outer space to meet the famous heroes of Star Wars.

Space Mountain: Mission 2 (Discoveryland)- the creators of this attraction borrowed the idea from Jules Verne (the novel "From the Earth to the Moon", in which people go to the moon with a giant cannon). Comments in this case are unnecessary, you need to try it yourself!

Below we have presented a table that will help you decide what attracts you the most.

How to see Paris and not die, and most importantly - how to get to it on a budget and how to survive at French prices? In this post, we will talk about independent travel to Paris in winter. As a bonus - a trip to French Disneyland in January 😉

The best option to fly to Paris on your own is to find cheap tickets at low-cost airlines. For example, we came across cheap tickets Ryanair from Warsaw to Paris. We hitchhiked to Warsaw. This is detailed in the review of the previous part of the trip:

So, an independent trip to Paris in the winter for a week.

Flight to Paris Ryanair

Tickets to France were bought from the low-cost airline Ryanair, which is based near Paris at the Beauvais airport. This is a separate story - that is, separate from Paris 🙂
Beauvais airport is an hour from Paris and a bus ticket from Beauvais airport to Paris costs 17 euros per person. It is difficult to understand anything on the airport website, but it is not difficult to figure it out upon arrival. A shuttle ticket to Paris can be bought at a special terminal or from the driver.

As always, we found cheap tickets to Paris and booked here:

The bus slowly carries passengers through the fog French province to Porte Maillot station.

Where to stay cheap in Paris

You can stay in Paris in a hotel or in a rented apartment (apartment). The second option for the price seemed tempting to us, because hotels in paris they are either very expensive (4-5 stars) or relatively inexpensive, but a very, very bad place can get caught - the Internet is replete with reviews of bedbugs, stoned African Americans at the reception and cases of robbery almost on the steps of the hotel. Therefore, I got the impression that if you rent a hotel in Paris, then a good level. The apartment was much cheaper.

Rented apartments in Paris- they should also be discussed separately. Shortly before the trip to Paris, someone joked that the smallest apartment in the world is in Paris - only 8 square meters. Like, do you rent it so cheaply? Haha.m

Almost 🙂 Our apartment in Paris turned out to be 9 sq. m. No kidding: it's just a square with one window, where there is a shower with a 50 cm curtain, a stove, a microwave, a tiny washbasin, and if you move the sofa apart, it's impossible to walk at all. I had to climb from the door to the window.

So, we go from one of the streets of Montmartre to the Parisian courtyard with a well. Entering the house, on a steep spiral staircase go up:

Here you can see the dimensions of our Parisian apartment. The photo was taken from the doorway, on the left you can’t see the tiny washbasin and shower stall right in the room (they hid behind the door). The toilet, of course, is separate along the corridor, like in a communal apartment.

Right kitchen, left shower 🙂

It is said that these tiny apartments are left in Parisian old houses as a reminder of the history of Paris.

Writer and translator B. Nosik writes: “Once tiny “housekeeper’s rooms” behind the kitchen (the so-called “chambre de bonne”), homeowners and even tenants now manage to separate from the former large apartments and allocate for separate rent. Some of them have been singled out, isolated a long time ago, they are leased, sold, bought up. There are thousands of such little rooms in Paris ... ".

They live there, as a rule, migrants, unsecured French people - or tourists who are not familiar with this type of accommodation.

Considering that we only slept and had breakfast in the room, it was not too bad for us. More fun 🙂 And crowded - yes, it's definitely impossible to live here! Why did we rent this tiny apartment in Paris? The prices for such apartments will pleasantly surprise you, especially in comparison with hotels.

After flying to Paris and settling in, it was enough to just walk around Montmartre, including to the famous cabaret Moulin rouge:

In the evenings, there are gigantic queues for the show.

Notre Dame Cathedral and the Ile de la Cité

The first morning in Paris traditionally begins with eggs and coffee (of course, with a French baguette) - for this, you need to look into a couple of grocers the day before.

The first item on any trip to Paris will be the great and terrible - sung by Hugo.

Like all of Paris, the cathedral is bright and looks like a cake. Notre Dame Cathedral rises majestically on the Ile de la Cité, and the line stretches towards it not at all majestically:

People queue up at the cathedral to climb observation deck Notre Dame de Paris. You need to go up the twisted narrow stairs, they let tourists in packs of ten people. You can enter the cathedral for free:

The organ sounds, rows of candles stretch ...

Above is the famous round rosette, also mentioned in Hugo's novel.

Climbing up observation deck of Notre Dame Cathedral, you can view the gallery of chimeras:

Paris is a very bright city. Everything is in the same style. The houses are built and decorated in white and beige colors, which makes the buildings look like cakes.

Paris is rather gray in winter:

It is a pity that the viewing gallery is surrounded by an ugly lattice. But safety is above all.

Downstairs, by Notre Dame de Paris, Grandpa is feeding the pigeons. Parisian pigeons are plump and well-fed.

Having gone down, we walk a little more along the Ile de la Cité and the surrounding streets of Paris.

While in Paris, you can't help but try French snails 🙂

Paris is not only a bright and joyful city of love. For many centuries it has been a rather dirty and haunted place! 🙂
There are quite a few creepy things in Paris, one of which is the Parisian catacombs.

So we go to the famous and terrible Parisian catacombs. Pretty creepy place. The history of stone breaks near Paris dates back to the 10th century. Plague, wars and diseases in Europe led to the fact that the cemeteries of Paris were overcrowded (for those who are interested, read about it, I omit unpleasant details here). In the end, it was decided to transfer the remains to the catacombs near Paris.

IN Parisian catacombs Fouquet, Robespierre, Charles Perrault (the one who gave us "Puss in Boots") are buried ... They say that Napoleon III liked to receive important guests in the catacombs.

The entrance to the Parisian catacombs and ticket offices is open until the evening. Up to 200 people can be inside at the same time, but in the evening there are significantly fewer tourists. The recommended visit time is no more than 45 minutes. At the entrance, you need to attach a card and go through the turnstile, so employees always see how many more tourists are wandering around the catacombs.

Around the skull, and more skulls, and many more skulls and all sorts of bones. Whole walls are built of them.

The corridors of the Parisian catacombs are dark and very humid. In some places, the ceiling leaks and water oozes, which is why individual bones turn green.

Some of our compatriots even in such a place manage to distinguish themselves by "intelligence":

The place is interesting and ambiguous. Nevertheless, after visiting the catacombs, it is nice to be back in the fresh air of the winter Parisian streets.

Eiffel Tower

Approaches to eiffel tower occupied by sellers of magnets and other souvenirs:

Here she is, beauty Eiffel Tower

:

At the base of the tower there are winter Christmas installations (I remind you that we visited Paris in January):

And at the bottom of the tower there are many, many people queuing to enter. The queue spirals around the entrance to the Eiffel Tower, inside, long queues also stretch for the elevators.

In fact, Paris can be viewed from several points - from Notre Dame Cathedral, from Montmartre ... Therefore, it was decided not to waste precious time in Paris climbing the tower.

Moreover, the Eiffel Tower is much more beautiful from the side than inside. View of the Eiffel Tower from the side Field of Mars:

The Eiffel Tower is beautiful and romantic. To take a ticket or not to take it is up to you 🙂

Disneyland Paris

To be in Paris and not realize your childhood dream? No way! So we go to Disneyland Paris.

January is not the best tourist month for Disneyland, temperatures were consistently just above freezing. But we boldly go to Disneyland, having previously bought tickets on the site.

Disneyland Paris consists of two parks - Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. It is difficult to visit both parks in one day - you have to run around the rides back and forth in a hurry. Our advice is to choose one of the parks in Disneyland and enjoy the rides like adults… Oh, that is, like children 🙂

How to get from Paris to Disneyland on your own? Disneyland is located in the town of Marne-la-Vallee Chessy, you need to get off at the station of the same name. You can get to Disneyland from Paris by suburban RER trains(line A).

Despite the winter time and weather, there are many visitors. Watching the parade:

Throughout Disneyland there is a very kind and friendly atmosphere. The faces of adults are the most delighted, especially on the kindest children's rides in Fantasyland.
Cup skating:

And what shops in Disneyland! So you want to take and buy something for yourself as a keepsake. Okay, what is there - I want to stock up to the fullest 🙂

It's good to be a child at heart!

An evening at Disneyland Paris is fairy tale time.

In the evening everyone gathers Sleeping Beauty Castle to watch the fireworks and light show at Disneyland. Images of Disney characters are projected onto the Castle, who sing and tell something to the audience. Made very beautifully.

Definitely, you should stay and watch the show - the feeling of magic is guaranteed.

The sky above the castle lights up with flashes:

If you allocate time and money for an overnight stay in one of the Disneyland hotels, you can visit both parks and stay in this fairy tale longer.

But any fairy tale ends sooner or later, and it's time to go back to Paris. From the very morning we did not go to the Internet at all, and only on the way to Paris did we find out that on that very day there was a terrorist attack at the Charlie Hebdo publishing house.

Musée Rodin and Orsay

The next morning in Paris was rather gloomy. We did not notice any panic in the city, just more police on the streets than usual. In general, the city lived its own life.

Among the many museums in Paris, the choice fell on the museums of Rodin and Orsay. We go to Musee d'Orsay to the Impressionists:

While we were at the Musée d'Orsay, the weather began to improve slowly:

Many showcases sell cakes, meringues and other goodies.

Montmartre and Sacré Coeur

An indispensable point of acquaintance with Paris - evening walk in Montmartre. On the streets of Montmartre, many shops are open until late, selling pastries, sweets, herbs, and the freshest seafood:

All this looks so appetizing that we could not resist and went into one of restaurants in Montmartre.

The streets of Montmartre are a different story. You make your way between the houses along the paved alleys:

And along the famous stairs of Montmartre. No joke - the height of the Montmartre hill is 130 meters! This is the highest point in Paris.

And you find yourself on the terraces of small cafes decorated with lights. Perhaps it was these terraces of night cafes that inspired Van Gogh to create plots?

So, winding through the narrow streets, we get to the most beautiful basilica on the hill -:

The Sacré-Coeur Basilica rises on the highest point of Paris above the city at night.

It offers a wonderful view of Paris - it is in the evening that it is especially good.

General impressions of Paris

The last morning of our winter trip to Paris was devoted to shopping for souvenirs and gifts.

What else do you remember about Paris?

Everywhere there are reminders of the terrorist attack:

There are a lot of street musicians and performances in Paris:

Many perform in subway passages.

A few words about the Paris metro. The crossings are dirty, the platforms of the Paris metro too. Weed everywhere, a lot of homeless people. An inconvenient system for buying a ticket for the metro - it would seem: you need to select the number of trips, insert money and that's it. But it was not there! At one station the machine does not work, at the other they are not accepted bank cards, on the third - something else is not right. Tip: It's best to take the Paris Travelcard for multiple trips. In the end, often unable to buy a ticket simply because the machines in the subway did not work, we passed one after another through the same turnstile.

Prices in Paris are sad 🙂 More expensive only in Scandinavia. The cheapest baguette (just bread and cheese) in a street shop will cost from 6 euros. A normal baguette is 8-10 euros. But it's just a sandwich, Carl! Lunch in an average cafe will cost 25-30 euros per person.

On, get, soft (not very) French bun:

Despite the fact that we flew to Paris in winter, in January, it was not too cold. The trip to Disneyland was a great success, largely due to the fact that winter at Disneyland is off-season, and there were not so many people. My fears that it would be cold to ride the rides were not confirmed.
Small apartments are a good option to live in Paris if you don't mind saving.

In general, the most romantic city We liked the land 🙂 I think that in spring, when trees and flowers are blooming, it is even better here! I hope we can check it out somehow. So long, Paris!

Since childhood, I dreamed of going to Disneyland. Even when I watched Disney cartoons on TV, and before them they usually showed parades at Disneyland. At that time, I thought it was impossible to get there. It was an impossible dream. When I started living in Paris, I thought that going to Disneyland was expensive and time consuming. Everything turned out a little different than I imagined.

It really took a long time to get there: we took the RER train for almost an hour before we got there. It's good that the entrance to Disneyland itself is not far from the station. My friend and I went there in April, but there were still a lot of tourists. We stood in line at the box office for about an hour, but we got in pretty quickly.

When you find yourself on the territory of Disneyland, it seems as if you are entering a completely different world. Beautiful and fabulous, where childhood always reigns. Even an adult begins to feel like a child here. Eyes literally run up from the number of different attractions, entertainment and cafes. We even got confused when we entered, but then we pulled ourselves together and went to explore the park.

What you need to know before leaving

Know that besides you there are a lot of people who want to visit the famous park. In the summer and during the holidays there are whole crowds of people and adults. Therefore, it is better to come in the spring, at the end of March - beginning of April, or at the end of September - beginning of October. It is still warm in Paris, but there are not so many tourists. This is the best time to visit many attractions.

You need to arrive early in the morning. We boarded the RER at 7am and drove for an hour. Then we spent another hour waiting in line. As a result, the park itself entered only at 9 am. Arriving early is important not only because there is a long queue at the entrance, but also because the park is very large. If you are limited in time and want to see as much as possible, then you should arrive early.

Everything in the park is very expensive. A snack in some cafe with a couple of buns with coffee will cost 30-50 EUR. We took sandwiches and water bottles with us. You can bring food inside. It's much cheaper. We sat down on a bench when we got hungry, ate our sandwiches and moved on.

By the way, this also applies to souvenirs. A small headband with Mickey Mouse costs 10 EUR. I didn't buy anything there. In principle, in Paris, all this can be found and not at such cosmic prices.

Wear comfortable shoes - sneakers or sandals. High-heeled sandals or shoes are best set aside for a more appropriate occasion. After 7 hours in the park, my feet just fell off, although I put on the simplest sandals. I don't know what would happen to my legs if I was in heels.

It is better to take a small bag or backpack with you. Something that fits well on the arm or shoulders. It should close well with a zipper. There are attractions - roller coasters, for example, where you will be shaken and turned upside down. There will be nowhere to leave things: there are no lockers or a wardrobe nearby. We didn't know about it. When we went on such an attraction, we had to fasten the bag to the leg by the straps so that it would not fly away somewhere.

For the same reason, it is best to wear jeans or some kind of trousers, as the skirt easily rides up on roller coasters or similar rides.

At the entrance, take a map of the park (there is also in Russian), so you can immediately outline the places you want to visit. It's impossible to see everything in one day. The park is too big. It is better to immediately determine what interests you. For especially popular attractions, you can buy tickets in advance with a designation of the time when you need to come there. During breaks, it is nice to walk in the park or visit something less popular.

What is the park itself

Disneyland itself consists of two parks: an amusement park and the Walt Disney Studios, where they show how cartoons are filmed, the filming process, etc.

The first is the largest, it is divided into separate sectors: by cartoons or their heroes. For example, there is a sector dedicated to Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Scary House or House of Horrors with a Hill, there is also a Pirate Ship.

A complete and interactive map is best viewed on the official Disneyland website. It also shows where hotels, restaurants, cafes, etc. are located.

We managed to visit only the first of them - the Amusement Park, but that was enough for me to remember the trip for a lifetime.

entrance to the park

First, you pass the first fence, where there is a guard. Bags are checked there, and visitors can be examined if they seem suspicious. Next, you need to queue up for tickets. I will discuss the rates in more detail below. You no longer need to pay inside for attractions, their cost is already included in the price single ticket for a visit.

Amusement park

After receiving the tickets, you enter the park. Along the wide street you will get to the famous Disney castle. It is very difficult to take pictures there. My girlfriend spent over an hour to make good photo. There are two roads from the castle: one leads to the sector about Aladdin, the Scary House, the Pirate Ship, and the other to the futuristic part - spaceships, etc.

We went through the Aladdin sector, Texas, to the Creepy House on the Hill. They collected the most terrible characters and things from different fairy tales: a magic ball, talking skeletons, etc.

There are a couple of Mickey Mouse houses in the park. Actors in Mickey costumes are sitting there, they are signing autographs. We did not go there, because the queue was too long, and we did not want to waste time on it.

After that we went to Alice's maze in Wonderland. This is a real maze! Therefore, children must be kept close so as not to lose them. I liked it there very much. Card figures and other characters from your favorite fairy tale are everywhere.

After going through the whole labyrinth, you will go to the castle of the Red Queen. Nearby is the Crazy Tea Party. There is a place with huge cups and seats with a Mad Hatter hat. You can take pictures there... but again... guess what? That's right, standing in a huge queue.

We went to the Robinson Crusoe Hut, it is located on several floors, on a tree. We rode in the train trailers from the Wild West, also so-so - for children.

Coming out to the square to the castle, we got to one of the famous parades that take place in Disneyland. As we were told, they take place almost every day at a certain time. On special holidays - Halloween or Christmas - magnificent and luxurious parades are held. Cars with Mickey and Mini Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck are passing by, actors are dancing and singing. This spectacle must be seen with your own eyes!

My friend started taking pictures with the castle, and I went to explore the inside of the Disneyland castle. Inside, at the bottom is a dungeon with dragons, and at the top - the chambers of the Sleeping Beauty.

We managed to ride one more attraction, spaceships - also an analogue of roller coasters. It was great, but very scary! Twisted and spun us still how! The funny thing is that they take pictures during the ride. It's fun to look at the exit.

We did not have time to go anywhere else, as we were limited in time.

Ticket price

You can buy tickets at the box office at the entrance or via the Internet, on the Disneyland website.

The price of tickets depends on which parks you intend to visit. All fares are listed. Children under 3 years of age enter free of charge. Adults and children from 12 years old have their own tariffs, and children from 3 to 11 have their own, others. There is a ticket option along with transport from Paris.

During the holidays - Christmas or Halloween - prices will be different.

How to get from Paris to Disneyland

We went there by train, but you can also use a bus or a car.

By train

To do this, you need to choose the train line RER A (this is a red branch). You need to go along the A4 line (it branches off from the main line), to the final station Marne-La-Vallée.

You need to buy a ticket separately to this station. If you are not familiar with the complex system of the Paris metro and the RER, it is better to buy a ticket at the box office, not from a machine. It cost me about 14 EUR.

You can take the RER A at all major metro stations: Charles de Gaulle, Auber, Chatelet-Les Halles, Nation, Gare de Lyon. Check that the stop where you get off indicates that the final stop is Marne-La-Vallée. If this name is in a yellow rectangle, then this means that the train will stop there. If not, then no.

The train runs from 05:22 to 00:39, with an interval of 15 minutes. It goes with stops at other stations. We drove for about an hour.

By bus

These are special express trains that run from 5 metro stations in Paris - Madeleine, Gare du Nord, Montparnasse, Opéra, Chatelet. A ticket is bought along with the entrance to Disneyland - 93 EUR for adults and 88 EUR for children from 3 to 11 years old. This can be done at the bus stop or the Disneyland site.

By car

Finally

Before visiting Disneyland, prepare well and arrive early, regardless of the season. Get your tickets for popular rides right away so you can enjoy the park without wasting time in lines. And dip into fairy tale Disneyland!

"The light we've been waiting for the most will shine in your eyes!" This is what the employees of one of the most fabulous and magical places on earth - Disneyland Park in Paris say.

🌲 The Christmas story is about to begin, it's time to pack your bags. 🌲

How Disneyland Paris works in winter

New Year's holidays at Disneyland begin on November 11, 2017 and will last until January 7, 2018. From the very first day, the park will open its gates from 9 am and close by almost midnight. Most large-scale events will begin on January 2, it is on these days that parades of cartoon characters and fairy tales will take place, and the New Year tree will also be lit. The schedule of individual locations can be seen on the official website of Disneyland.

What Disneyland offers - rides, cafes, entertainment

In Paris, park attractions do not stop their work in the winter. It is worth noting that some sites are not available, but their number is decreasing every year.

In 2017, they promise to open a central park area with the station square, where you can ride on small trains and take pictures with retro cars. Here, on main street, there is a parade of Disney cartoon characters, so the zone is literally a must-see.

There are also theme areas dedicated to Peter Pan, Alice through the Looking Glass, Dumbo and many other cartoon characters. Some of the attractions involve flights of various formats, so it is advisable to dress warmly.

Also work roller coaster and racing grounds - the tracks are being cleared, so you don't have to worry about your safety during extreme skiing. Slides work in several zones at once - in the Border Country and in the Backstage World. In the first one, the most interactive sites are a small petting zoo, Western-style play areas, Tarzan show and much more.

In addition to skiing and watching performances, you can participate in the creation of a new animated picture. It is enough to look into the Animation Courtyard zone, where you can take part in writing the script, filming and preparing a new film product.

There is a scuba diving attraction dedicated to legendary history about Nautilus and Captain Nemo. And you can also go flying into space on a real rocket or feel like a brave astronaut under a meteor shower.

The final and quieter area is Village Disney. It is here that the bulk of souvenir shops, restaurants, themed cafes and museums are located. There are also dance floors, a cinema and a mini golf course available. So, even in spite of the cool weather, you definitely won’t be bored.

Christmas and New Year at Disneyland

In the country of Disney, such a fabulous holiday as the New Year cannot be celebrated in a boring and ordinary way. Experienced guests say that a trip to Disneyland for Christmas and New Year is literally unforgettable. And this time the celebration is expected to be grandiose - in 2017, Disneyland Park celebrates its 25th anniversary! And this means that the fireworks will be brighter, the parades will be longer, the gifts will be more interesting, and the rest in Disneyland will be unforgettable!

Every year new heroes participate in the event. It all depends on the popularity of certain characters in recent times. But there are also classic Christmas characters, without which the celebration would not be so atmospheric. You will certainly be met by elves, gnomes, deer, fairies, snowmen and Pere Noel (French Santa) himself. His house and a large armchair are installed on the central platform. Elves sing and dance near the residence, and the kind grandfather himself receives guests, writes down orders for gifts and is happy to take pictures.

At certain times, Santa gets on a sleigh and rides around the park, stopping here and there, greeting obedient kids and congratulating adults on the upcoming holidays. He also takes part in the parade, which takes place on Main Street. The most famous Disney characters will ride along the long alley: Chipmunks Chip and Dale, Aladdin and Genie with the monkey Abu, friendly team of Mickey Mouse with Goofy, Minimaus, Donald and others. Here you can see all the princesses of the Disney universe, fairies, wizards and even episodic characters.

In 2018, the heroes of two stories will be a separate topic - the cartoon Frozen and the epic Star Wars. Robots, stormtroopers and even the taciturn Chewbacca - they will all take part in a large-scale parade on luminous platforms.

This year, the administration of the park paid special attention to the Slavic New Year. But, thanks to the contiguity cultural traditions, and it will be interesting for Ukrainian tourists to join such a pastime. From January 2 to January 7, the residence of Santa Claus will be located near the central Disneyland Hotel 5 *. It will be possible to communicate with him in Russian, take pictures and, of course, make a wish.

The park will host a lot of interactive Christmas-themed events. In particular, a whole performance of Goofy's Christmas is expected, during which the main character will go around the world. new year trip. On each thematic site there will be performances of heroes, competitions for the smallest and for those who are older.

The culmination of the holiday will be a light and sound show at the castle from the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast. Traditionally, the façade will feature light installations accompanied by fireworks, songs and illuminated fountains. Paris allocates colossal sums for fireworks at Disneyland, so the picture will be unforgettable.

Every evening from 2 to 7 January on central square will solemnly, to the accompaniment of an orchestra and fireworks, light a 24-meter spruce.

How to organize a trip to Disneyland

The official website of the park offers its guests the most convenient form for booking tickets, hotel rooms, and even for choosing the best travel option. It should be remembered that Disneyland Paris is the most popular park and especially during the Christmas holidays. That is why there are huge queues of people who want to get inside at the box office and at the attractions. Ordering a ticket through the electronic network will save not only time, but also nerves. And in some cases, money. In addition, if you buy a ticket via the Internet, you can use it for a whole year, at any time convenient for you. A ticket purchased at the box office provides access to Disneyland Paris in winter only on the day of purchase.

Subject to reservation during the period of late autumn-early winter, the park offers a discount of up to 20% on accommodation and entrance tickets, and another 1 to 4 days of accommodation on a half-board basis - free of charge. But you still need to order such a service - the official website says that the offer is valid only for bookings made before November 29, 2017 for arrivals from November 17, 2017 to March 20, 2018.

The park also has a Fast Pass or Fast Pass service. It means reducing the waiting time in queues. Tickets of this category are a little more expensive, but allow you to go to a number of attractions and locations at certain hours of the day, bypassing the usual and rather long lines.

Ticket prices for admission to Disneyland vary depending on the day of the visit. Despite the fact that the Christmas period is already a bonus period, the cost will differ on weekdays and weekends. On weekdays, a ticket for 1 day will cost from 57 to 73 dollars for 1 adult and 49-65 dollars for a child. On weekends, the price rises to $84-91 per adult and $76-82 per child.

If you purchase a subscription for several days, then 2 days will cost $ 173 for 1 adult and $ 154 for 1 child, 3 days - $ 214 and $ 192, respectively.

Children under 3 do not need a ticket.

Tips for visiting Disneyland

It is important to consider that no matter how tempting Disneyland is in winter, you are still in Paris, and almost no one in the park knows Russian. Or rather, not so - no one here knows the Russian language, except for the Russian characters presented exclusively in 2018. All employees and all service personnel speak English language. In addition, most people know French, German, Spanish and Italian. Therefore, the knowledge of one of the foreign languages is important and practically vital.

Maps and signs are posted throughout the park. But for those who do not like to push around the stands for a long time, a smartphone application has been developed. There you can see the entire layout of the park, as well as find establishments with a rating and even a short menu. Thanks to geolocation, you will be able to navigate the most convenient and shortest point to your desired destination. And the downloaded map will work even if you lose the Internet signal.

The nuance of connecting to the Internet is that there are many access points in the park, but they are all paid, so to use the coverage, you will have to pay at the hotel or the waiter in the cafe.

Let's spend our holidays at Disneyland

Destination- Disneyland, France.

Must have- visa, passport, air tickets, entrance tickets and hotel reservations.

To visit France, a Ukrainian should apply for a tourist visa. It is issued by the Visa Section of the French Embassy. Or you can use a visa-free regime if you have issued a biometric passport. The cost of an air ticket from Kyiv to Paris starts from UAH 6,200 one way.

The park has hotels of various categories and prices depending on your requirements, possibilities and preferences. All 7 hotels make up large complex, a whole town where accommodation is provided from the ranch category to 5-star hotels with a gym and a swimming pool. We are talking about the following hotels: Disneyland Hotel 5*, Disney’s Hotel New York 4*, Disney's Newport bay club 4*, Disney's Sequoia Lodge 3*, Disney's Hotel Cheyenne 2*, Disney's Hotel Santa Fe 2* and Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch. Accommodation for two with included tickets at a discount price will cost from 2,100 hryvnia per day.

If you plan to stay in one of the park's hotels, you won't have to worry about how to get to the entertainment area. You will be driven to the central gate by a special free bus. Some hotels are within a 15-minute walk from the park. If you settled in Paris, then make a travel itinerary in advance.

The most efficient option is to travel by rented car. The A4 highway leads from Paris to the park, on which there will be a sign about the exit towards Disneyland.

You can use the railway and take the RER train on line A from Opera Station to Disneyland. Or the Eurostar train, which travels three times longer, but also costs a little less. In addition, shuttle buses are provided.

You want to see the magic with your own eyes, even if you are far from 5 years old. In life there is always a place for a miracle, a fairy tale and dreams. Perhaps that is why French Disneyland is so popular. The cause is not so important as the result - Disneyland, like Paris, becomes magical in winter. And it is this corner of the world that creates the very light atmosphere that we are looking for on New Year's holidays.

Useful on the Internet to look for information on the topic, a lot of things, but not very clear. We quickly collected the usual set of documents and gave them to the travel agency. We planned to go in early December, but it turned out in the middle. Most of all they were worried that the kids would not get sick. And it’s not clear how the weather is there: after all, it’s winter, judging by the pictures, the rides are outside. Yes, and the action "1 free day of stay" alerted. But everything went well :)

Flight

There are several Disneylands in the world, we went to the one near Paris. From Kyiv there is a direct flight, but the money came out almost 2 times more expensive than with an hour transfer in Frankfurt. They flew with Lufthansa, the planes were new, the children were given puzzles or coloring books at the entrance. The plane was half empty to Paris, it was harder to get back.

In Paris for passport control with children they let them out of the queue, but in their native Boryspil at one in the morning they suffered a little :(

A company bus runs regularly between Charles de Gaulle Airport and Disneyland, but you can also get there by taxi or by rail.

Disneyland device

Disneyland Paris is divided into 4 areas:
1. Disneyland Park.
2. Park Film Studio Walt Disney (Walt Disney Studios).
3. Disney Village
4. Disney Hotels.

There are also parking lots, so car owners have a place to leave their cars.

Disneyland is not Russified at all. The staff does not speak Russian, maps are only in English/French/German/Spanish/Italian. For all the time, only a few times they heard Russian speech.

There is no free Internet, only for money, and in limited places, for example, in a hotel lobby.

It turned out that there is a good application for iPhone and Android. You can see a map with a description of attractions, the location of Disney characters, cafes with price levels, recommended places, etc. The current location is shown, so you won't get lost on the first day. And, most importantly, you only need to download the map once, then it will work without the Internet. True, sometimes the application crashes and you need to reload the info.

Disneyland Park

More about the main park. We spent 2.5 days in it and we really liked it. The park is divided into 5 thematic areas: Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, Discoveryland and Fantasyland. Everything is very colorful and beautifully done. In the evening the lights come on and it looks really cool.

In the open air there are many attractions like our carousels, except that they are usually controlled. For example, with the help of the joystick, the basket you are in moves up/down. To get on them, you have to stand in line for 20 minutes, spend 5 minutes for everyone to sit down, well, and a few minutes to ride. Pleasure is not enough, I think it is more suitable for kids. The main attractions are covered in large rooms, that is, it does not matter what the weather is like. I just stopped noticing when it rains or winds.

My favorite was Pirates caribbean"(Pirates of the Caribbean). There you get on a boat and travel past treasures, various scenes with pirates and sunken ships.

3 times we went to the "Base" (Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast) - the children liked to shoot at targets with blasters. Points are awarded for each hit. Something like a space shooting gallery.

Near each attraction is indicated how long you have to wait in line. On a weekday 20-45 minutes, on Saturday it was hell - a lot of people. For some attractions there is a separate smaller queue, where you can go with the help of FastPass. The technology is as follows: with a regular ticket you get FastPass for free, which you can use only for the selected attraction in the interval of 30-60 minutes. After that, you can take another FastPass, etc. Thanks to this, you can save time: get a FastPass, for example, for "Peter Pan", then take a queue for "Pirates". When you get out of them, then return to the "Peter Pan". There is also some FastPass Premium, but we did not have them.

At the exit from the main attractions, you find yourself in a theme shop with souvenirs and gifts. There you can also buy a photo in a beautiful frame, which is made at the end. We scored 7 pieces, now we don’t know where to put them :)

In the Park, in certain places, heroes hang out with whom you can take a picture or get an autograph from them.

Walt Disney Studios Park Film Studio

We spent only 1 day in this park and we still have a lot to explore next time. Here, too, everything is coolly done, but the difference in the age of visitors is somewhat embarrassing. It's one thing to fly on Aladdin's magic carpet, it's quite another to listen to 15 minutes in French about the special effects of the film "Armageddon" in order to later visit a spaceship and evaluate these effects in the form of smoke, fire, etc. live.

But in this park there is the famous "Tower of Horrors" (The Twilight Zone ™ Tower of Terror). It's really tough: to fall in an elevator somewhere from the 10th floor, go up and fall again. I don’t know how the children weren’t afraid, at least I put my feet on the floor and grabbed my son’s jacket%)

Disney Village

The village is a network of cafes, cinemas, bowling, etc. We went here to the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. A good performance: cowboys, Indians, Mickey Mouse and company perform. At the same time, the waiters serve drinks with food, that is, it’s immediately dinner. At the entrance they give straw hats of different colors, thanks to which the hall is divided into 4 parts, which support their team with the sound of plates, spoons and topon, who compete with each other. Ours won :)

Disney Hotels

Disneyland has its own branded hotels. If you live in them, then you can enter the park 2 hours earlier and leave 2 hours later than the rest. For all the time, we only tried to take advantage of this offer once, so that after the show we could go to see Disneyland in the evening, but on that day, for some reason, it was already closed. We lived in the New Port Bay hotel, for some reason on Ukrainian sites they gave it 4 *, in reality there are 3 * or even less.

They consider a small corridor with a room with two beds to be 2 rooms.
