The hypothesis of the existence of a developed civilization on Earth in ancient times, which has reached a level comparable to ours, upon closer examination does not look incredible at all. The main argument against it is lack of any traces of a highly developed civilization, buildings, objects, in a word - material evidence. This argument is built on the erroneous premise that man-made artifacts can persist for any length of time in Earth's history. In fact, the more developed a civilization, the less likely it is that its material traces will be able to reach us through the millennia.
The point here is this. Stone tools and ceramics are the two most preserved types of artifacts. Everything else is irretrievably lost over the course of several millennia. Therefore, the more primitive a civilization, the more traces of it will remain. And vice versa.
Modern theories of the existence on Earth of a certain developed paleocivilization attribute its heyday to times 15-20 thousand years before the present. During this time, all traces of it would have been irreversibly erased from the face of the Earth by inexorable time, unless this civilization was similar to ours in everything, including in terms of population and the scale of the settlement of the Earth. However, this was not. Paleocivilization was obviously local. It is no coincidence that the myth of Atlantis places it on an isolated island or continent.

The probability of preserving traces of an advanced civilization on land is also reduced to a minimum. The reason for this is the glacier. Last glacial period ended about 10 thousand years ago. Before most of modern Eurasia was covered with kilometer-long layers of ice. Everything that was on land before that was plowed up by the glacier so much that any possible traces of the outposts of the Atlanteans are at a depth of several kilometers.
In this case, the finds of artifacts will indeed be single. If we compare with our civilization, then all our cities, so huge and indestructible by time at first glance, would also be buried in the thickness of the earth after the passage of the glacier. A new ice age would destroy for distant descendants the slightest opportunity to discover at least something left of our civilization.
Yes, there is a glacier! Even without it, the most durable modern buildings are designed for a maximum of 500 years, while ordinary buildings - only tens. This is a drop in the ocean compared to the abyss of time in 10, 15 and 20 thousand years. Just 500 years after the death of our civilization, in the place of such a metropolis as Moscow, there would be separate hillocks, overgrown with forests and washed out by rivers.. Little is left of the Colosseum a thousand years after its construction, and if it were not for the restoration work and constant care for it in modern times, we would not admire it now. This is not to mention the fact that modern construction techniques are far inferior to ancient buildings in terms of durability, and modern buildings can resist time much worse.
Thus, it is obvious that 15 thousand or even more years later, the probability of discovering material traces of paleocivilization is negligible. Scarce information about it has come down to us only in the legends and tales of ancient peoples, such as the Mahabharata, and are isolated from there literally bit by bit.
