Features of carrying hand luggage by Transaero airlines (Transaero). Aeroflot rules. Hand luggage: what can I take from liquids into the cabin? What not to take in hand luggage

Given the fact that Transaero ceased operations in October 2015. I still leave this article, because. similarity of requirements hand luggage major Russian airlines is undoubtedly traceable. Also in the article you can find links to the operating airlines Aeroflot and Siberia, with their requirements for hand luggage and luggage, which may be useful for reading.

General requirements for hand luggage for three Russian airlines wrote in the first article -. But apart from general requirements each company has its own rules for carrying hand luggage and luggage. Therefore, I will sign about the features of carrying hand luggage on three major Russian airlines such as Transaero (described in this article), and in two others. Transaero Airlines has one thing about hand luggage mandatory requirement:Passengers themselves must take care of the safety of luggage taken with them on board the aircraft.

The size and weight of hand luggage in the cabin of the Transaero aircraft

Baggage size corresponds to the attached photo below about hand luggage, equal to the sum of three dimensions 115 cm (55*40*20).

The airline provides its customers with four classes of tickets and the weight for hand luggage for these classes is different:

  • Imperial class - 2 pieces with a total weight of not more than 10 kg
  • Business class - 2 seats with a total weight of not more than 10 kg (this class can be with a weight of 10 or 8 kg, you need to look at the class line on your ticket and check on the airline's website)
  • Business class premium - 2 seats with a total weight of not more than 8 kg
  • Economy class -1 seat with a total weight of not more than 8 kg

The above hand luggage allowances are included in the ticket price, i.e. you don’t need to pay extra for them, of course, if you fit into the provided kilograms.

Extra piece in hand luggage of Transaero at the price of excess baggage

Transaero provides a service for an extra seat in hand luggage and charges a fee for it. She pays for excess baggage(as for 5 kg or for one extra bed) in accordance with the baggage allowance specified in the ticket. Such an additional piece of hand luggage should be no more than 115 cm in the sum of 3 dimensions (55x40x20), and weight - no more than 5 kg.

From June 08, 2015, Transaero Airlines has established a fee for registration electronic document for the transportation of excess baggage at their sales offices at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports. The amount of the fee is 500 rubles.

But there are two options for not paying this fee:

  • If you pay for your excess baggage yourself at certain Transaero terminals installed at these two airports. You can use the terminal as follows, first you need to go to the check-in counter, then pay at the terminal (in cash or by card) and then go back to the counter for boarding pass. At the same time, the commission for payment of excess baggage in the amount of 500 rubles is not charged.
  • Transaero also has an online payment service for excess baggage. It can be used from the moment of ticket purchase and becomes unavailable 1 hour before the flight departure. Be sure to print after payment electronic receipt to present at the front desk.

Liquids in the cabin of Transaero aircraft

Transaero Airlines mainly writes about the same restriction of liquids in hand luggage as Aeroflot, i.e. you can carry permitted liquids in vials of no more than 100 ml and not exceeding a total volume of 1 liter. And also all these liquids must be packed in a transparent bag with a reusable zipper. Exceptions are made for medicines, baby milk or nutrition, and special dietary products.

At the same time, they explain that liquids that are poured into a vial of more than 100 ml, but not completely filled, are still not allowed to be transported. An explanation for the especially gifted, apparently.

Transportation of prams by Transaero airline

Transaero allows you to take baby cradles and prams with you into the cabin. But a small stroller is allowed in the cabin of the aircraft - weighing up to 4.5 kg and dimensions not exceeding 53x27x97 cm, see the photo below, and an ordinary large stroller will be asked to be checked in as checked baggage.

Transaero Airlines describes in detail the prohibited items when flying to the US and the EU:

  • Prohibited items when flying to and from the United States:

The site describes in detail items that can harm the aircraft or others, so you can’t take them into the cabin and they are checked in as main luggage: weapons, explosives, stabbing and cutting objects, gas cylinders and flammable objects, brass knuckles. What, in principle, an ordinary citizen does not need in the cabin of an aircraft.

  • Prohibited items when flying to the EU and back:

The situation is the same with liquids in the EU countries - you can carry 100 ml vials in hand luggage, no more than 1 liter. But in the EU there are items that are completely prohibited for import, which, in principle, cannot be taken with you either in luggage or on an aircraft cabin. Here is a short list of prohibited items:

  1. Rifles, pistols, hot and cold weapons
  2. Explosives and flammable substances
  3. Chemical and toxic substances.
  4. Melee weapons and sharp objects
  5. blunt instruments

With more detailed list can be found on the airline's website.

Animals in the cabin

Transaero on its flights allows the carriage of small breeds of animals (dogs / cats) in the aircraft cabin if the animal with a total weight of not more than 8 kg together with the container, and the container must be 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions, and its height is not more than 20 cm (in Otherwise, the animal will be transported in the luggage compartment). In this case, it is necessary to coordinate the transportation of such an animal with the airline. There are a lot of recommendations, requirements and instructions to be followed in order to bring an animal, keep this in mind when making such a decision and consult with the airline in advance in order to have time to buy a container before the flight or prepare missing certificates.

Quote:
Taking into account the fact that you are checked in for a flight, baggage is checked out and a tag for hand luggage is issued not at all by airline employees, but by airport employees, and flight attendants in 100% of cases do not care about the size and even more so the weight of hand luggage, then we can safely say that the airline Transaero will not find fault with the size and weight of your hand luggage.
But malicious aunts (if they come across just such) at the front desk can, although in reality this is a rarity. As you understand, it all depends on how much your hand luggage exceeds the dimensions and weight allowed for your flight class.

Probably depends on the flight. The Lisbon and Barcelona airports controlled weight and size very strictly. So, in September in Barcelona for an excess of a total of 2 kg for two suitcases, we were forced to pay 18e. Hand luggage was also weighed. Moreover, it was not "malicious aunts at the check-in desk" who carped, but a certain employee (either a / e, or a company), who went from counter to counter and controlled the process of baggage check-in. He also resolved all the controversial issues that arose in every second. One passenger was "grazed" all over the airport - at first they hung around at the check-in counter for a long time, an interpreter was invited for explanations, and then they were caught just before boarding - they were forced to weigh hand luggage again and were not allowed on the plane. Because of some miserable pair of bags. Somehow she didn't look at them...

Quote: This is written in the rules of transportation, and what does the planes have to do with it?

Quote: A rectangular sports bag weighing more than 7 kilograms is likely to be sent in luggage. Small bags and backpacks are usually not weighed.

Baggage check.

The maximum dimensions (length, width, height) of each piece of baggage must not exceed 160 cm.

The maximum weight of one piece of baggage must not exceed 30 kg.

For adults and children over 2 years of age free baggage per person in business class - 30 kg, in economy class - 20 kg.

If your baggage is overweight free transportation, then excess baggage must be pre-booked and paid in accordance with the tariff rates for each kilogram of weight.

Excess baggage will only be transported if there are technical possibilities.

These rules do not apply to:

*
oversized baggage (whose weight does not exceed 30 or the sum of the dimensions of which exceeds 160 cm)
*
equipment for skiing, golf or aquatic species sports
*
televisions, tape recorders or other electronic household appliances weighing more than 10 kg
*
domestic animals and birds, with the exception of guide dogs
*
flowers, plant seedlings, food greens, weighing more than 5 kg.

The carriage of the above items is announced by the passenger in advance, booked and provided subject to the availability of technical means, estimated by weight, regardless of the number of pieces of the passenger's other checked baggage.

Concerns about flight safety are forcing air carriers to introduce strict baggage rules on the plane. The list of prohibited items is the same for passengers of all classes, but may vary slightly at airports in different countries. The ban also applies to the crew of the liner.

Important! For compact individual vehicles (gyroscooters, unicycles, etc.), transportation in the luggage compartment is allowed, provided that lithium-ion chargers that can be taken into the cabin are removed. Battery power is limited to 160 Wh.

Special permission to transport

Items prohibited for carriage on an aircraft general order, in some cases you can take it on a flight, having received a special permission from the air carrier.

Permission is requested for the transport of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 100-160 Wh. This is done through the Call Center or an air carrier representative at check-in.

As an exception, wheelchairs with lithium-ion chargers with a power of more than 160 Wh are allowed. Required requirements:

  • obtain permission from the air carrier;
  • inform the crew commander where the chargers are located;
  • battery power is allowed less than 300 Wh;
  • wheelchairs are checked in as luggage at check-in;
  • If Charger not removable, it must be securely fastened and isolated from electrical circuits;
  • when the battery is removable, it is removed and taken with you to the cabin, carefully packed;
  • the number of spare batteries is limited to one.

Another special transportation procedure concerns weapons:

  1. The air traveler informs about the desire to take weapons and ammunition on board the liner when buying a ticket.
  2. Please arrive at check-in at least 2 hours in advance.
  3. It is obligatory to present a permit for the storage of weapons, and for international travel - an export permit.
  4. The weapon must be unloaded and placed in a safe package (case, holster, etc.).
  5. Ammunition must be packed separately. Weight is limited to five kilograms.
  6. The weapon must be handed over before registration, in the place designated for this, and received upon arrival, presenting a special certificate.
Important! It is forbidden to transport cartridges for gas rifles and pistols, live ammunition.

What happens to seized items

Seized items that are prohibited from being transported on an aircraft, which are of no value, are usually thrown away. If things are important to their owner, there are ways to keep them and get them back.

  1. The easiest option is when prohibited items are found at the front desk. In this case, you can give them to the mourners, leave them in the left-luggage office, or even send them by mail. If prohibited items are found in carry-on baggage, but are allowed to be carried in baggage, they are transferred to baggage.
  2. When unauthorized items are found in carry-on baggage during security screening after passport control they will be confiscated. But you can write an act of withdrawal and leave them for storage at the airport, and get them back upon return. Sometimes representatives of the air carrier can hand over the detected prohibited items in baggage with subsequent receipt on the baggage belt.
  3. When unauthorized items are found in baggage after check-in, the security service will notify the passenger through the airline. They will either be confiscated or offered to pass the passenger again for registration. There is always a chance to tell about the value of a thing and leave it for storage at the airport.
Important! If weapons, ammunition are found without a permit for their transportation, the seized items are handed over to the police, and the passenger is removed from the flight for investigation.

How to avoid unpleasant situations during inspection

  1. Carefully study the rules for carrying things with a particular airline before flying.
  2. Try to leave all liquids, including cosmetics, in your checked-in luggage.
  3. Make sure that you do not have liquid containers larger than 100 milliliters with you. Place the liquids required during the flight in an approved container.
  4. Do not open packages of drinks and spirits from Duty free before leaving the aircraft.
  5. To confirm that the medicines carried on the plane are vital, you need to take a certificate.
  6. If medications contain narcotic components, it is worth taking a recipe in Latin with you.

Compliance with simple rules guarantees passengers safety on board the liner.

Watch a video about the myths and truths about luggage on an airplane.

Dear visitors of the Aviawiki site! There are so many of your questions that, unfortunately, our specialists do not always have time to answer all of them. As a reminder, we answer questions absolutely free of charge and on a first-come, first-served basis. However, you have the opportunity to get a guaranteed prompt response for a nominal amount..

Today there is a whole list of things that cannot be taken into the cabin for safety reasons. Unfortunately, not all tourists know what not to take on a plane t some items, as a result of which, already during the inspection at the airport, they find themselves in an unpleasant situation in which they are forced to send sometimes high-quality and expensive items to the urn, the carriage of which is prohibited in the cabin of the aircraft. The article below provides a list of items that are best initially transported not in hand luggage, but in luggage or even left at home.

Things you can't take on a plane

★ Weapons. As, in general, it is easy to guess, you cannot take weapons in any form on a plane. Moreover, we are talking about both real weapons: pistols, rifles, light machine guns, edged weapons, and imitation weapons, including ordinary children's toys (although I think they will miss a pink or bright green children's "blaster" made of plastic :). The same category of things that cannot be taken on a plane includes ammunition, explosives, gas cartridges, as well as other means of attack and defense that can be used to carry out criminal acts. It is also better not to take a lighter and matches into the cabin, as you will most likely have to throw them away during the inspection process.

★ Stitching and cutting objects. Penknives and kitchen knives, regular and nail scissors, straight razors, metal nail files, screwdrivers, blades and other sharp objects that can be assessed by airport security as potentially dangerous and are not allowed on board the aircraft. And do not rely too much on the fact that a samurai sword or machete bought as a souvenir and not yet sharpened will be allowed to be carried on board under the pretext that they do not pose a danger.

Most likely, these items will not please you and your friends when you return home, but the children of security workers or themselves (if there are no such things in the rich collection of the latter yet). I managed to carry ordinary blades into the cabin of the plane (accidentally remained in the pocket of a leather folder - I noticed only when I returned home), as well as folding nail scissors (I took a conscious risk, as they were needed in long trip). True, this does not guarantee that during the next flight I or you will be able to repeat this, because there is always a human factor, and the equipment at airports is constantly being improved.

Liquids. Liquids include drinks (including alcoholic drinks), gels, lotions, pastes, creams, shaving foams, etc. In reality, there are certain volumes of liquids that can be quite legally taken into the cabin of an aircraft. This is described in detail in a separate article on the website. Also, in the article, follow the link to find out what exceptions exist for transporting liquids on the plane, which are baby food and medicines.

★ Hazardous substances. Do not take on the plane aggressive chemicals, poisons, combustible substances, radioactive and toxic substances. Even if all these substances are supposed to be used exclusively for peaceful purposes upon arrival in the city or country of destination, their transportation in the cabin is very dangerous, so at best they will have to be thrown into a special bin. In the worst case, you will have to explain for a long time and repeatedly to distrustful employees of the airport security and other security services why you were trying to carry all this on board. Do you need it?

★ Food. Not everyone knows that it is possible to bring food on board an aircraft, but again, there are a number of restrictions that relate to the type of this food, its packaging and volume. detailed information on this topic is described in the article, I advise you to read it in order to avoid trouble at the airport when going through security.

★ Animals and birds. With a small exception, which includes some small living creatures, you cannot take animals and birds on an airplane, even if you have a complete set of documents about their health and safety for others. If you really need to take the animal with you, you will most likely have to put it in a special isolated compartment in the luggage compartment. You can read more about transporting animals on an airplane in the article.

★ Other Items prohibited for carriage at a particular airport or by the rules of carriage of a particular airline. Before you go to the airport, I advise you to carefully search the official website of the airport for information about what you can’t take on a plane specifically from them. It often happens that due to certain events in the city or country of departure, additional restrictions are imposed on the transport of certain items. For example, a complete ban on the transport of liquids on board due to events in the country or certain products due to the quarantine.

I also advise you to familiarize yourself with the list of things that are prohibited from being carried in hand luggage. internal rules the airline of your choice. This may concern not only the type of objects and their purpose, but also their weight and size. For example, the transport of certain items of sports equipment or musical instruments in one airline may be allowed in the cabin, and in another - only in the luggage compartment.

I think a few extra minutes that you spend searching necessary information, will not be in vain, because in return you will get the confidence that some of your things that you value and do not want to lose do not fall into the list of things that cannot be taken into the cabin. And confidence and calmness will, in turn, allow you to avoid unnecessary excitement at the airport, which will make your vacation abroad more comfortable and memorable from the very beginning of the journey.

At the end of the article, I want to remind you that if you find yourself in a situation in which you had to leave (read - throw away) your valuable thing, discovered during the search and classified as prohibited, do not make scandals and tantrums (because of which you can generally be sent to a rather humiliating personal search with a forced “striptease”). Flight safety is not a personal whim of inspection workers, but a high degree of guarantee that all passengers on a flight are protected from terrorist attacks and armed criminals. Therefore, before each flight (especially if they do not occur very often), go over the list of things that can't be taken on a plane and according to the list of items allowed for carriage in hand luggage. I wish you pleasant and safe flights!

I would be very grateful if you as a thank you for the information, click on located on the left side of the page

Hand luggage raises many questions. To avoid unpleasant situations when boarding a flight, learn about the basic safety requirements and airline restrictions on baggage on board. Prohibited items, number of pieces, carry-on size and weight, liquids, food and medicine.

What can you take on a plane

If hand luggage is not the only luggage with which you fly, then you should take only the most valuable and necessary things on the road from those allowed for transportation with you on the plane:

  • money
  • bank cards
  • documentation
  • equipment and gadgets (phone, camera, computer, tablet)
  • jewelry
  • fragile items

The rest of the contents of hand luggage depends on the airline's baggage requirements and your desire to carry it all. Take the quiz What can I bring on board?

All relevant information about the rules for carrying hand luggage is posted on the websites of airports and airlines. Safety standards are mandatory for everyone, and the number of pieces, weight and size of hand luggage are regulated by airlines.

What not to take in hand luggage

It is prohibited to transport dangerous items and substances in the aircraft cabin and checked baggage:

  • weapon
  • flammable substances and liquids
  • liquefied gases
  • explosives
  • toxic/radioactive/poisonous/corrosive substances
  • piercing and sharp objects

Seemingly harmless household items cannot be carried in hand luggage: a corkscrew, a nail file with sharp edges and nail clippers, scissors, tweezers, a straight razor, a folding knife, a corkscrew, knitting needles. All this must be checked in, and if it is not there, then look for alternatives or buy it on the spot. For example, an electric razor or a razor with replaceable blocks are allowed in hand luggage, and nail files are soft.

Rules for carrying liquids in hand luggage

How much liquid can you carry?

If additional security measures are not introduced, then in hand luggage it is allowed to carry liquids with a total volume of 1 liter in packages of not more than 100 ml. You can carry any amount of liquids in any volume in your baggage.

Liquids include: water, drinks, creams, lotions, aerosols, gels, foams, pastes, etc. Cosmetics (mascara, lip gloss) are also liquids. Keep in mind that if the 200 ml shampoo bottle is half filled, then it cannot be transported. The liquids of people flying together do not add up.

Exception: baby food, necessary for the child During the flight; medicines and diet food with a certificate / prescription from a doctor.

Where can I get 100 ml containers?

Don't throw away shampoo and shower gels that are provided in hotels. Most beauty brands sell or give away makeup mini kits with purchases. You can buy a set of liquid containers and fill them with your own funds.

When passing through the security control, liquids must be presented separately in a transparent resealable bag. You can buy a package that suits your requirements in stationery stores (file with a zip), a Zip-Lock food storage bag or a transparent cosmetic bag with a zipper will also work. Some airlines impose additional restrictions on the size of the bag with liquids: 20x20cm, 18x20cm.

Changes in the rules for the transport of liquids

During the Olympics in Sochi, the Federal Air Transport Agency introduced a complete ban on the transport of liquids on airplanes. IN different countries restrictions may apply - check for the latest information before departure. If during the pre-flight inspection it turns out that you violated the rules for transporting liquids, you will be offered to get rid of the prohibited item yourself (throw it into a special container), discussions on this topic are useless, they can lead to a late boarding or removal from the flight.

Food in hand luggage

You can take fruit, nuts, hard cheese, sausage, muesli bars, sandwiches with you on board. Carry-on baggage must not contain prohibited items customs regulations and liquids with a volume of more than 100 ml. Water and food can be purchased after security clearance in the "clear zone", food and drinks on board are offered by most airlines (included in the ticket or purchased separately). You can take an empty water bottle with you and ask the flight attendant to refill it.

Medications in hand luggage

In hand luggage, it is allowed to carry medicines in their original packaging. Check in advance if your medicines are legal in the country of destination. If medications are prescribed by a doctor, it is better to take it with you. Liquid medicines (gels, aerosols, ointments, ampoules) are subject to the rules for carrying liquids - no more than 100 ml. If the medicine is vital, notify the airport staff and present a certificate from a doctor or an extract from the medical history.

Number of pieces of hand luggage

The number of pieces of hand luggage is regulated by the airline. As a rule, you are allowed to take 1 piece of baggage into the cabin of the aircraft. Business and First Class passengers are allowed 2 pieces of hand luggage. Most major aviation companies do not consider a handbag or a men's briefcase, an umbrella, a laptop, a suit or a dress in a clothing case as a separate place. Budget airlines have strict baggage requirements, following the rule: 1 person = 1 piece of hand luggage. The exception is folding baby strollers, crutches, outerwear. It is almost always allowed to take a Duty Free package on board.

Size and weight of hand luggage

The dimensions and weight of luggage that you can take on board the aircraft also depend on the requirements of the airline, the ticket class and the flight route. Hand luggage can be a small suitcase, backpack, bag.

Standard size requirements for hand luggage: no more than 115 cm in the sum of three measurements (55 × 40 × 20 cm). The weight of hand luggage is 5-10 kg. Example: a standard size suitcase for transportation in the cabin.

At the airport, there is always the opportunity to check the weight at a free check-in counter and transfer extra pounds to checked baggage. If you're flying with hand luggage only, you won't have that chance, so check your carry-on weight at home on a floor scale or buy a mini luggage scale that's handy to carry around with you. Low-cost airlines check baggage in a frame, it must fully fit into it, along with wheels and handles.

Check with your airline for information about transporting sports equipment, musical instruments and other oversized items. Before you buy something on a trip, think about whether there is free space in your luggage, you will have to pay extra for excess.

The benefits of traveling light

  • You save on airfare
  • Things in hand luggage are guaranteed to fly with you (if you do not leave them unattended and do not forget)
  • You don't have to stand at the front desk (in most cases)
  • You don't wait to collect your luggage, so you'll be the fastest to leave the airport and reach your destination
