So, the form of "ferro", an iron tip that protects the bow of the boat and serves as a determinant of the height of the bridge and the possibility of a gondola passing under it, contains six ledges, symbolizing the six districts of the city, they are sometimes joined by three friezes, symbolizing the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.
